I went into H & M Kids to buy clothes for my newborn nephews (twins). Some great 100% organic cotton onesies for them. Large sign said buy 2, get the 3rd free. I picked out 3 and after waiting 20 minutes to get to the checkout, was advised they have to have a purple sticker on the tag. I asked to talk to a manager who confirmed this even though the large sign said nothing to this effect. I am sorry I will not be coming back here for my nephews as I can not rely on the sales or advertising. read more

H&M - Department Stores Near Me - Burnaby, British Columbia

H&M is disposable fast fashion. The clothes are OK; but don't expect them to last long term (unless you're OK with washing your clothes by hand). I was here on a Sunday morning and they didn't seem to have enough staff on hand on the lower floor, there was one person at the cashier and I think the others were working on putting away items. There was no one at the fitting room and a line of people wanting to try on clothing was slowly forming. Finally someone went to the cashier and asked for help and was told to go ahead and use the fitting rooms. The good thing about this store is that it's clean, organized and brightly lit. The store is also large and has a vast collection of clothing and accessories. You're likely to find something that you like as long as you're willing to be patient and look around. read more

H & M is one of those shops I always have to go in. It's very hit and miss. There are days where I walk around the shop and find a lot of things I want to try on and there are days where I feel like everything in the store is from the reject pile of every single trend out there. This really isn't somewhere I would go to find nice quality pieces. But fun to shop and find inexpensive, trendy items that you fall in love with for the season. There is a lot of stuff so you really need to navigate your way around and look closely if you want to do some serious shopping. There are usually a lot of cute pieces that aren't so prominently displayed. I've noticed that sizing can be somewhat difficult to find as well. A lot of the times, it seems as though all that's left are S or XS. As for customer service... I've encountered some friendly sales staff and then the not so friendly ones. It seems the ones who are "managers"? are the unpleasant ones. They seem to be one hanger short of loving their jobs. Oh well. read more

I love hnm! Most of the staff is great with a few bitchy/rude ones in the fitting room area. One of the most annoying things here is the way they hang the clothes..... The clothes are hung so close together that either it's too hard to find a size or take them out or if u are successful at that at least few random clothes would fall on the ground. Also I was at the store today (around 7ish pm) trying on clothes..... The girl in charge of the fitting room area (upper level) was very rude and treated me and my sister as if she was doing us a favour by letting us try clothes on. read more

My 13 year purchased an item yesterday at H&M and came home, couldn't find the receipt and the top she bought I didn't like on her. We are trying to exchange (not return) with top still selling at regular price and their policy is no return or exchange without receipt. I don't know if she ever got the receipt in bag because it never made it home. I understand policies but their has to be some grey. How do I prove that the cashier never put it in the bag and it was left on the counter???? The item is still selling at the regular price. If it was on sale now I understand I would get the sale price but to not "exchange" at all is poor customer service and I spend a lot of money there. I went to H&M today to buy a new pair of jeans. Coming from Europe, I didn't know my size in North America, so I asked one of the sales assistant if they knew what would be the equivalence of my size, which is 38 European or M. She looked at me and her reply was "you're a 33-34, that's the largest size we have in this store" with a big snooty smile and condescending voice. So I won't return to this store or recommend to anyone to go shop there, simply because I don't have the size of a 14 years old girl and I refused to be called fat by one of the sales assistant for that. read more

Slowly but surely, I am beginning to appreciate H&M, but as it stands right now, we have a love/hate relationship. There's no doubt in my mind that H&M has SOMETHING good going on. Every time I see a girl with a great piece, and I ask her where she bought it, the response is usually the same. H&M. Always H&M. So, what do I do? I mosey on over to my nearest shopping centre, peruse the store, and finally, go home empty handed. I find the vast majority of the clothing here to be either ridiculous or bland. In regards to the silly apparel, at this point, I'm comfortable with simply turning and looking the other way as Hurricane Hipsterbarf wrecks its havoc on the fleeting fadsters before disappearing altogether. For blandness, I've realized something: a requirement to have a very successful haul here. Are you ready for it? The big secret? Here it is! Style. You have to have style. Who would've thought? A lackluster top leaving a lot to be desired whilst hanging on the rack makes for a great look when paired with that blazer over there, and accessorized with that bag from the other side of the store. Add in the jeans you were looking at, and you're set with an eye-catching outfit. But I can't do that. Leggings, shirt, bag, done. There isn't a lot of matchy-matchy when it comes to my outfits, I opt for the 'git 'er done' approach. All that aside, I do enjoy the Metrotown H&M. I find it to be less of a total disaster than other stores, and dare I say it, they're starting to cater to the less fashionable folk such as myself, with cute shirts and sweaters acceptable to wear solo with leggings. Plus, any store with nice clothes, AND accessories such as bags, jewellry, and bras and undies scores points with me. H&M is getting there! read more

H&M is from the land of Ikea. Sweden. The Metrotown location is their newest location for the Greater Vancouver area. Their clothes remind me of Ikea furniture. Budget prices for products that usually don't last in the long run. Since their clothing is quite trendy, they usually go out of style within one season, so most people don't really care about the quality of the fabrics and stitching. read more

This H&M is for "little people." Even though the men's models on the H&M website are 6'1" or 6'2" don't bother looking for those sizes here. They never have any sizes, especially for inseam length. As well, the girl who works the downstairs the change room is rude and appears to hate her job (or the customers...or both?). Sad, because the clothes and prices are good but this store is geared towards the shorty teenagers. read more

Yesterday's visit was solid: good selection, great item organisation/layout, professional staff. Not the best quality gear but hard to beat for affordable fast fashion with pretty reliable service, especially for men (I know women have a lot of other good short term fast fashion Zara / Forever21 etc type places, but there's not that much for us fellas). As someone who values time, I appreciate that the staff are always de-cluttering peoples' try-ons and items left in the aisles... it makes for a way nicer shopping experience compared to the heaping and piling up of stuff that makes looking for anything at Forever21 such a bloody nightmare, for instance. read more

I really like this H&M location! It's pretty organized and always has new items in stock. I can always find something I like here. There are usually no lineups at the change rooms or cashiers. The prices are really inexpensive as well. read more

Even though the clothes never fit me even though I am average size at 4' 8" and 123 lbs I still browse at some of the clothes and fantasize of what my inner skinny b*tch would wear. My only issue with the clothes (have bought some for gifts) is that for what you pay the clothes are really cheaply made and only last 1/2 a season at the most with moderate wear. I find the selection here better than at other locations. read more

I like H & M for cheap trendy clothes. I went in 30 min b4 the store was going to close. Not realizing what time it is I shopped for 20 min, as i'm about to go into the change room with 5 items they tell me its closed. I think in such a big store they should make the customers aware the change rooms will be closing, and not to waste my time shopping. I told the manager they should let their customers aware of this, but don't think this is going to happen from her reaction. Overall the customer service sucks at this location. Maybe if the employees helped me find sizes instead of chatting with each other I could've made it to the change room before it closed. read more

The clothes aren't bad but I wish I could say the same about the sales associates. I've never had an awful experience with them nor have I had a terrific one. Whenever I come in, no one ever greets me, no one ever thanks me or says good-bye. One sales associate even forgot to take the ink tags off my items and I didn't realize until after I got home (I live in Surrey), it just creates a huge annoyance and it would've been avoided if the sale associate did his job correctly. Other than that, I wouldn't go here unless I'm desperate to buy decently priced clothes. read more
