My fashionista daughter and I were exploring Main Street recently, going in to all the eclectic shops and boutiques along the street, covering three blocks each side of the street. What a fun area - and this large clothing shop was our favorite of all the clothing stores there. The shop is well laid-out, and it carries an extensive array of women's and men's clothing and accessories. Everything was trendy and cute, and best of all, the prices were quite reasonable. The sale items I saw weren't the usual odd-lot items, too; there were checked Vans slip-on sneakers on sale and other mainstream, recognizable items. In fact, my kid and I commented how we liked how there are many brand-name items as well as unique, lesser-known brands, and clothes we've not seen anywhere else. This would be the perfect place for a young professional woman to get her work and non-work wardrobe, as the clothes are on-point and the prices are right. The first time I walked in here, I knew I'd be back. The style of clothing is right up my kids' alley. The left side of the store is for the boys and the right side for the girls. I am happy too see that the prices were reasonable and not ridiculously marked up. The staff members are all friendly, however not all are fully trained. More often than not the cashier I get end up getting the manager because s/he doesn't know what to do to make the transaction go through. Simple things like Tax-Exemption forms. Each time we go to 8th & Main, we always walk out with a purchase :o) There is always something for each one of my children. If you're a driver ... parking can be a nightmare ... be wary of the time you go, there are time restrictions on Main st for parking. read more

I'm a big fan of this store. The clothes don't always fit right but they're the most trendy spot to shop in Vancouver without breaking the bank. Super safe during covid - they provide hand sanitizer and ask you to wear a mask when you come in. If you don't have a mask they will give you one. Currently they have a 90 day return policy, so I bought like 8 items without trying them on. Most of them actually fit really well! For the ones that don't fit I can breathe easy knowing that I have plenty of time to return them. 10/10 I would recommend this place. read more

The store has a huge selection, it's cheap, the staff is friendly and often hilarious, they have an amazing sale section. I love this place! It's got a unique urban/vintage feel to it, without the expensive prices. I am definitely a frugal shopper, and I feel like this place has some unique key peices that are both timeless and trendy without having to hurt your wallet. I got a flowered bandeau from here and a couple dresses. I'll definitely be back! I love how the pieces are creatively merchandised. Holy moly! It's cheap stylish clothes in Vancouver! Unicorn alert! I got two cute tops and a pair of shorts for $60. It would cost me that much just to breathe at Aritzia. I wish they had swimwear and less hipstery stuff and more basics but overall very happy with the selection and neutral colours. The staff are nice enough- but who cares at these prices!! read more

I'm so glad I came across this place. It was a busy, busy Saturday afternoon in this store. Everyone was gathered around the back and I quickly realized why -- almost 1/3 of their store is on the sale rack and it's all in the back. They're GREAT deals (especially great for me, a visiting American, because of the weak Canadian dollar!) to be found. The only down side is that mostly large sizes are left. My bf found a great pair of boots on sale for only $30 CAD and I believe they were marked down from over $100. They also have really cute jewelry and other accessories. I am sad. This store is brimming with cute-looking, well-priced clothes, including a healthy sale section for even further savings. The atmosphere is light and woodsy, the music is great, and when I needed to use a fitting room, the staff were most pleasant human beings. But here comes the tragic part: out of a diverse pile of stuff, nothing looked good on me. The shapeless shift dresses were just not happening, and though the vintage-looking dresses had a little more structure, they all seemed to have some detail I wouldn't wear to work, such as cutouts on the belly (yeah, no one needs to see that) or too much sheerness. Either that, or the clothes had some crazy pattern. Some people avoid gluten in their diet, I have a no-florals policy in my closet. I like outfits that are easy to put together, and I have more than once been duped into buying patterned pants, which don't match with anything, at all. But I'll keep trying with 8th & Main, because I like the vintage looks; I hope fall and winter collections will bring better structure and fit. Fingers crossed, belly sucked in. read more

I AM IN LOVE!!!! This is officially my new favourite clothing store. They have just opened about 3 months ago and already They have gotten lots of traffic. This unique, yet trendy boutique carries a variety of brands from all over (from what I remember they even carry stuff from Denmark and Thailand). The best part about 8th & Main is that they are so affordable; the price point is very reasonable. They remind me of Top Shop (ironically they carry some Top Shop basics) except you're not paying $$$. Instead, you are paying $19.99 for great quality tees/shirts for example. A number of dresses that I saw were under $40. Yes, there are more expensive items in the store, but there are tons of cheaper things you can buy. It's a large store, so browse around. When I asked about their return policy, a sales person told me that as long as the purchase is in new condition with tags attached, you can return it ANYTIME (with receipt of course!). I think this is a move that will attract more customers since people don't like to feel pressured to bring something back right away.W e will see how long they will stick with this policy. They've only been open for 3 months, so it's hard to tell if they will get customers trying to return something a year or 2 later. (Trust me, I have seen people try to do this...I work in retail.) read more

If I could choose one store to shop in until my skin dries up and I die an well-dressed crotchety old maid, this would be that one store. There is a fabulous selection of clothes for both men and women, and new stuff comes in every day so it is literally a new experience every time you come in here. I have always left with a lighter wallet and a overwhelming feeling of satisfaction (along with some guilt related to spending half my paycheque). The staff here are great--friendly, helpful, and most importantly, they leave you alone. They have mastered the art of attentiveness without being obnoxiously overbearing. My one complaint is that I would like to see them try to carry more XL sizes. I typically run from a medium to a large, however, a lot of these designs are from overseas and are tailored to fit a smaller physique. The "large" usually fits like a medium and the "o/s" sizes are a total no-go for anyone with the slightest boobs, butt or belly. read more

Great store in my hood! Dangerous - without constant monitoring I could lose a lot of money here. Thankfully they have a great sale section that is always brimming with awesome items - somehow I always feel better about spending $$ if I feel like in getting a great deal! I love their shoe selection but have left disappointed on my last two visits as they didn't have my sizes in three pairs of gorgeous flats that I fell in love with. If you're looking for vancouver style and comfort - this is must on your shopping list! Bonus: reasonably priced COOL sunglasses and amazing music! While shopping there they had the "Calm Before The Storm" playlist on Songza playing and I loved it! There is a huge selection of both classic and on-trend pieces and I love how reasonable the prices are, especially for the quality you get - far better value than the average thing you find on the rack at Urban Outfitters etc. The sale section is fantastic, as is the shoe selection, and the staff are friendly but never intrusive. New to this area, I had a lot of hope for this store. Unfortunately the cheap and trendy clothes could not overtake the terrible customer service. I have never once been greeted when entering the store, asked if I need assistance, and the few occasions I did ask for help I was written off or given poor quality answers. If I was in desperate need of a cheap outfit piece in a pinch, I might pop in again - but other than that , I am taking my buisness somewhere I don't feel like I'm constantly intruding on the employees conversations with eachother . read more

When I saw this store for the first time, I was sure I would not be able to afford anything in there because everything just looked so fashionable and expensive. So I was totally surprised that most of the clothes are actually not expensive at all! Since then, this has become one of my favourite clothing stores in Vancouver. I have bought a beautiful coat here and people keep asking me where I got it (even strangers on the bus). And I'm a fan of their jewellery! I got my best friend (who is quite picky and has a very exclusive taste when it comes to fashion) one of the filigree golden necklaces and she adores it. read more

Wandered in here with GF on the way home after she commented that H&M was pretty boring. I always thought it had a strong hipster vibe (almost to the point of being elitist/snobby), but I was sure she would find something cool in there. I wasn't actually looking for anything for myself, but damn, really interesting stuff, great quality, and not outlandishly priced. It's basically the exact same price as anything half-decent at Pacific Center, but with cooler/better stuff. Will definitely be coming back here for myself. I loved this store until I recommended it to my mom to visit. My mom, a dark-skinned brown woman was followed around the store by multiple workers. She thought she was being paranoid, but every single time she pulled an item to look at it, a worker came up behind her and asked if she needed help. She wanted to try something on, but felt so humiliated that she left. When she told me this story, I was so angry. I will never, ever shop here again and I will tell all my friends. read more

I love the clothes, they are a really decent price. The store has good lighting, very comfortable, it's not cluttered at all. The layout and design work very well and keep you interested. Though this place has great selection, there seems to be absolutely no rhyme or reason to the organization of the shelves. Sizes jump from S to 2XL and back down again on every rack. Their shirts are nice and I like the two sweaters I've pick up from them as well. The sizing seems off compared to other stores but I suspect this is just the lines that they carry. Staff aren't always around when I have questions and I've had to assign myself a fitting room in their absence. Prices are quite reasonable and I'll be back again for sure but don't expect these other issues to be resolved upon my return. read more

8th & Main has a beautiful selection of vintage inspired clothing. Skirts, crop tops, t-shirts, blouses, dresses, jackets, sunglasses, you name it. Plus! There is also a really nice men's section with sweet sweaters, shoes and pants. The store is HUGE with a glass storefront showcasing snappily dressed mannequins. It's a wonderful addition to Main St, highly recommended that you go and pay it a visit. read more

While I have loved the clothing here, (I purchased 2-3 items a season), they burned me with their return policy this last visit. Unmoving, and hiding behind policy, the manager told me they can't look up a receipt as little as 3 days ago, and that I should expect that from "only a small boutique store." With an online store, and having the biggest footprint of any clothing store on Main St., it seems to me they just want to keep my money for themselves. Are the items still in perfect condition? Yes. Are they still for sale on the shelves? Yes. Do they have the sale prices marked on them? Yes. Then what is the problem? They make it as difficult as possible for customers to return items. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE. Take your business to the other ACTUAL boutique stores on Main St., where they have return policies that have been updated since 2004. I will not be shopping here again after being given such terrible service. read more

This is officially my new favourite clothing store in Vancouver. I never leave here empty-handed! They carry a lot of clothes so allow yourself plenty of time to browse and try things on. I have never shopped here before. I have never seen this store in Seattle etc. the men's clothes were odd to me, though they had good socks/shoes/whatnot. The girls clothes were pretty great, though. In less than half an hour my daughter found skirts, pants, blouses and a sweater that she liked. The prices were similar to the Gap I guess, but the clothes were younger- which works for us. The help was pretty low energy, but it was kind of late so they get a pass. read more

The staff Ali and Sam most notably showed me first the most affordable options (located at the rear of the store) then the new arrivals at the front. They gave honest opinions about fit and style which was greatly appreciated. Mygumi also deserves praise for her style guidance. I am so that they got a Yelp page for reviewing 'cause this place is awesome. It is now my new favorite place to shop for clothes of stuff that actually looks good on me, my body type and is trendy. Clothes that one would actually want to wear. Prices are very decent as well for what you get. Customer service is top notch and a step above most clothing stores that I've been to in and around the area. You can buy similar styles for a fraction of what you would pay at Urban Outfitters, Gap etc. I appreciate that they carry a bunch of different brands with different price margins so that there's something for everyone. Love that they have a ridiculous amount of clothes (a lot!) and their sale racks at the back are properly marked down. Staff have always been helpful when I needed them. And I want to say the prices are reasonable but the quality is so low! I'm looking at two pairs of trousers from 8th and Main that are folded up on my table in front of me. They have holes that need mending and I can't wear them until they're fixed. Sweaters from there seem to pill easily and look like crap after only several wears/washes. However, the 'femme' brand of basic tanks/tees hold up well and I"ve got one in almost every colour. My suggestion: Look very carefully at the stitching of the clothes you buy from here and stick to the sale racks. read more

Great styles, great interior. Clothing is reasonably priced and I shop here for all of my clothing necessities. 80% of the time, staff are really friendly and the other 20% is an "okay" experience. You don't exactly feel comfortable during the 20% and it makes you feel sort of self-conscious when browsing through the store. Overall decent, could be worse. read more

I can shop at another store on Robson that begins with a Z and spend the same amount of money, or a little more, and get way better quality. The clothes, shoes and accessories are adorable and the pricing is very reasonable. The only issue I had here was with the customer service. I purchased some sweaters and a jacket today at around 11:00am here and the Asian girl with glasses that rang up my order was beyond rude. She neglected to remove one of the security tags on my sweater so when I was leaving the store it beeped. I promptly went back and waited for her to finish with another customer and informed her "the bag beeped..", she didn't even look at me and responded with attitude " I know, that's why I told you to come back." I didn't even hear her call me back! When I returned, she didn't even acknowledge me. I had to say something first! No apology for not doing her job properly and removing the security tag initially? No apology for me waiting in line for her due to her error? Just sarcastically and rudely handling this matter? The staff here need to be better trained on basic customer service. I hope this is read by the management and this can get addressed soon, it's a shame that this shopping experience got unpleasant. I would love to come back, but maybe after the staff are better trained. read more
