Terrible parking lot set up but it is what it is, great mall access on both floors. A bit terrible when it comes to cash payment if you want to go to the mall you gotta turn around after checking out and go walk through Walmart to the other exits that lead to the mall where you then get the eye about if you paid or not so it's a tad of a hassle. Online. Online they are terrible. Give them a GRADE F- Ordered 3 times with them DURING COVID: unclear that you are buying from 3rd party and paid nothing shipped no response from seller and Walmart throws up the hands and pretends it's not their issue at all no idea don't care not our problem. POST COVID: ordered a few sterlite boxes. Website shows. Based on my postal code. There was sufficient stock. Ordered "3" and 5 small and large. They "cancelled my 3" and shipped the 5. Because I needed a matching set it is now below the threshold to order lone "3" from elsewhere. Nowhere to cancel. Reached out to chat. Confirms. Canceled. Got that "3" times telling me straight up after asking. Yes. It is cancelled. Nothing will ship. You will get notified in about an hour it's all cancelled. Yeah? 1 hour later get notification. It shipped. Called them. Oh. We can't do anything about it but you can refuse it or once it's arrived you can take the trip and come give it back to us at your nearest Walmart or we can give you a label to send back... oh yeah. I ordered from BC and they ship from BC... you wanna send it back?.... The return label goes to ONTARIO so until they get the things back they hold your money hostage for about 2 more weeks. Ridiculous!! Turns out. I did need more. Enough to place another order of free ship. And one arrived cracked. Packed cracked. Not damaged in transit. Sloppy employees don't even check its condition before sending to you Okay. Dragged it back to their store. Oh. We don't refund in store. It will be automatically on your card you paid. You should get it in "5-10 business days". What a joke Ordered second order of 8 and 8 and one of each size again arrives cracked chipped broken. Yet again. Dragged it to the store. Yep yep once again money held hostage for days on end Overall. Cannot recommend the online option. Walmart.ca is a NIGHTMARE! However. In store the experiences have been great. Stick to Amazon omg. Amazon is like A+++ compared to Walmart which clearly earns a F- and that's being super generous Walmart: great prices, quick to take your money, absolutely incompetent if things go wrong with online orders, and customer service is more aggravating than the situation itself. read more

I was filling out the form to open an account. I put in my phone number and my email address etc. Final step was they would send a code to my phone. It is a land line so does not accept codes. There was no opportunity to send it to my email address . Other firms I deal with who also want confirmation I am a real person always have me select whether the code is to go to my phone or email and of course I always check email. I do want to buy from Walmart. I assume they don't want my business. read more

Walmart at Metrotown. Nothing too wow here. It is basically the same as any other Walmart. First floor is where you will find groceries, produce, meat, dry goods and etc. Mostly all edible stuff are on the first floor. The second floor is where you will find cloths,toys, electronic, pharmacy items and etc. Nothing too wow. The reason why groceries can be found on the first floor is because it is also where you will find the exit to the outside parking lot. Yes first floor is 10 times busier than the second floor. We came here to pick up creamer and bread. Because we wanted to exit through the mall, we went upstairs to pay to save our-self the hassle. Note that they don't have cashiers upstairs. Came here for a quick purchase since I was in the area. Im not sure if it's because I was here on a weekend but the whole store was so packed. It was almost suffocating. The layout was not convenient as well. I was going to IYR chase some vitamins and medication for my son there was only one entrance to the pharmacy. That was also the exit as well. Once you get in it's almost impossible to get out. If you can avoid the cart at all cost! Will only make your trip more inconvenient read more

This is just an average Walmart comparing to most Walmart I've been to. I personally find Superstore for a better pricing for grocery, meats and chips; however they sometimes have really good clearance deals. I've previously bought pineapple, salad, organic pears and carrots for $2 bag it was a great deal. Also I've been seeing great deals on raw/ grilled chicken for $4-$5 (depending on weight) and they were great deal as well. They were smaller than ones from Costco and other competitors, but decently priced for sure. Eggs and dairy can be so cheap when it's near expiry date so check often. You can find some deals around 8PM and they close entrance after 9PM meaning you have to walk outside Metrotown to walk into Walmart. Bus stop is only a minute walk away. Small selections, but clearance section (or sale) is so worth it. Self counter lineups can be long sometimes. I think Superstore have better prices overall comparing to Walmart. read more

Once I asked them to help me with a purchase, they were quick and efficient, but beforehand, very obviously looking to see if I was stealing anything. I dress in an alternative way, every single time I come to this specific Walmart they send someone after me, if I'm in the cosmetics section they always send the same fake shopper to look after me, the first time they added the option to pay right there I wasn't aware of it and left the cosmetic section to pay at the normal checkout, fake shopper followed me and said I can't do that, then I proceed to try and pay at the place they told me to and they don't take cash ‍ had to be escorted to the check out and paid for my things. A later day I was there shopping for a gift for a friend of mine and there was a employee following me around, she first asked me if I needed anything which I said no to, I then stayed there for a while to find everything I needed for the gift obviously not without the exact same employee asking me if I needed help every 2 min, after a bit i picked some stuff and left not knowing she was following me thankfully a kind young girl came up to me and told me I was being followed by an employee, I got so pissed I left everything and left the store. read more

I believe this store opened on Oct. 11, 2018. It is in the old Target/Zellers spot. It's big, it has 3 floors, other than that it's a pretty standard Walmart, it does like the Richmond location carry some Asian products as well but not that much and some of the produce wasn't that good. Being just opened, it is quite busy but I was there at around 9pm last nite and it was not busy at all. Always too busy, have tried many different hours and yet always filled with people. This outlet is probably a small outlet with goods stacked very closely and barely any space to walk easily through the aisles. Coming from U.S., I also found the arrangement of items very weird but maybe folks are used to this kind of an arrangement here, took me 3 trips to fully understand what is where. Plus is if you know where to look - you will find everything you need. Plus it is very conveniently located close to the Metrotown SkyTrain shop, so easy to shop on the go. I love walmart. This one offers a beautiful selection of asian foods and makeup, my two favourite things. My #1 snack to buy there is lotte mochi ice cream. Yum!! Managers, please stop making your workers harrass me to sign up for the Walmart mastercard. Every single time they walk over I get the same spiel: "You want free money?? This card free!" In just 3 months of using Walmart delivery, so many things have gone wrong with my orders that I'm puzzled how this service can survive when it's so unreliable. The first time I placed my order I was so happy to receive what I needed on my doorstep, I thought it would make my day-to-day life easier, but then it just went downhill and turned into a nightmare of hours wasted in chat trying to solve problems that they have zero capacity to solve. I started to notice that some products are constantly going in and out of stock throughout the day, requiring several attempts to be able to purchase them, or place an order at the correct time to get them in stock, such as salt, pasta, soap, rice and beans. I had my order canceled without explanation, without being asked if I would like to postpone delivery until the next day or anything. I entered the chat and asked if they could redo the order for me, so I didn't have to add all the items to the cart again and so I didn't lose the offers, they just said that I had to redo the entire order again. When I explained that I bought it to take advantage of the offers in the daily leaflet, which were no longer available, the person didn't even try to help me. After I bought the monthly pass, it seems like everything got even worse, delivery arrived hours late, with melted ice cream, wet box of cornstarch (they put it next to the ice cream), product that was supposed to be frozen, completely defrosted, spoiled cassava... Products arriving wrong. Ordered chicken thighs, received chicken legs. Ordered again and they canceled my order (after hours of delay in delivery) and finally on the 3rd attempt it arrived correctly. Regarding this second canceled order, the website track showed that the delivery was on its way and would arrive in 14 minutes. After more than 2 hours showing exactly the same thing, and being more than 1 hour late, I entered the chat and they said they were in contact with the delivery person, (but again they had no information to give other than of the ones I could see on the website) and they said that my order would arrive in 14 minutes and that they were on its way, when I repeated that it was what was being shown on the website for hours, they said I could rest assured that my order would arrive. Serious? What's the point of choosing a time slot on the website if my order can arrive at any time? In chat, they only know how to apologize without even reading what I'm saying. Instead of realizing that something must be wrong, they keep apologizing and don't help at all. I stopped monitoring the order and after a while, I received an email informing about the cancellation of my order and the refund they would issue (which I never asked for). In addition to being without my order, I lost a discount coupon they had given me, which I was unable to use on another order, as I had already used it on this one. They constantly send me products that I don't want, even though I asked for no substitutions, which means that I have a lot of products that I didn't order and don't want, and I don't have the ones I want. I have 10 cans of coconut water that doesn't taste like coconut water at all and now I'm afraid that if I place a new order with the coconut water I want, I'll end up with more bad coconut water instead of the one I want. And finally, I had understood that the monthly pass would be renewed if I didn't ask to cancel it, but clearly I was wrong, as I placed an order on the 28/09 to be delivered on the 29th, however on the 29th I received an email informing that my order and my monthly pass subscription were canceled. They really lack the ability to ask if the customer wants to renew or if they want to pay for that delivery or just cancel or anything, instead, they harm the customer by not sending the order and leaving it at that. The only time they had an honest attitude was once when they called informing they were going to be late and if it was ok. However, it was at this time that they brought me the defrosted products. It's one cluster of terrible service after another. This is very frustrating to deal with, and I don't feel like I can trust Walmart to have the products I need on the day I need them. 0 times my problems have been solved, the only thing they know how to do, besides pasting their apology into the chat, is to tell us to call Walmart's number, in other words, the chat is completely useless. If I entered the chat, it's because I want to solve my problem via chat. What angers me most about all this is the complete lack of desire to help the customer, at no point they ask me what I want, they just take harmful actions. Furthermore, it is impossible to obtain support by email if you are not sending it via the email registered in the Walmart account, even though I have all the order details, in other words, a couple who share a Walmart account cannot resolve a problem with delivery if they do not share the same email. read more

Their self check-out machines always malfunctioned. The sale price on the screen was not right, and the credit card machine did not respond when I inserted my card or swiped my card (no tap function). The cashier at the self check-out station was not friendly at all; she said there might be a problem with my credit card and she walked away. We tried to insert the credit card again and finally it worked. This was not the first time for us to experience the frustration with their self check-out machines and their rude service. They had different products than Superstore but the self check-out station at Superstore was better. read more

This is one of the super rare Wal-Marts that has two floors. This used to be a Zellers, then it became a Target, though it still feels like a Zellers, especially on the second floor with its low ceiling. On the lower floor, there is a home supplies section and supermarket section. The supermarket section has Western food products and very small selection Asian food products. Normally, one wouldn't find Asian food products such as baos, dumplings and pomelos at a Wal-Mart, but this Wal-Mart has to compete with T&T Supermarket which is also inside the mall. The second floor sells electronics, clothes, personal hygiene, pharmacy products. There is no auto service department or a sporting goods department at this Wal-Mart. You won't find fishing equipment, guns, or tires here. I feel sorry for people who have to shop or work on the second floor because the air circulation is terrible -- warm and stuffy. read more

Not the best Wal-Mart in my opinion. Probably much smaller than other Wal-Marts, feels has less stock in terms of variety and quantity, also feels understaffed--or at least it seems like associates who seem not super busy are hard to find easily to ask a question. Today I was looking for something in the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist if she knew where what I was looking for was. She knew exactly and showed me. I was looking for something else downstairs after and asked an associate but they didn't really know and suggested I check the pharmacy/beauty. I went back up and mentioned to the pharmacist they told me to check here, and asked if she knew where it was. She said they sent me to the wrong place and she in fact knew exactly where it was, and gave me directions to the exact spot where the item was. She even told me to take the elevator instead as a shortcut since it would lead me directly to the correct side of the store rather than taking the escalators down and traversing through. Mad props to the pharmacist!! Also clothing selection is much more limited at this Wal-Mart; probably because it is a smaller location and was never meant to be a Wal-Mart (used to be Zellers then Target, which feel more like Shopper's Drug Mart to me, but maybe 20% bigger). read more

I tried shopping, not the best , but ok ! specially their not the same like superstores and TNT that offered earn points???? don't know why never asked. But since then, when I go to metro mall I drop by to walmart and checked out what's the good deals? I find little things but I never leave without buying something, I'm surprised to myself too! First time I bought big appliances coupled months ago " Karorik Max Air fryer oven grill " prices almost $200, Didn't open yet when I came home, it took weeks before we open/ used it! And we loved it, But for some reason I am surprised and shock my air fryer just stopped all lights gone, try to plug it in different outlets still not working?. So I went back to Metrotown Walmart talk to the "lady manager Salma" ( not sure if I spell it right her name), it's a very disappointing and waste of time, because " beware customers " they can't even help you nothing at all! So do not buy any big appliances to them, unless you don't care, how much you spend! I even asked any number that she could assist me, so easier for me to contact, who?? Or she could talk whoever, because Walmart dealings with all this suppliers, why they can't a little help to us costumers? She said there's nothing she can do or any them can do about it?, how do you feel about it as a consumer/ costumer? Additional comments she said besides our policy within 1 month only and not open? What? And she never heard any complaints about this appliance's having that issues? I said maybe I'm the lucky one ?! This review mostly entails the Walmart online ordering for pick up and delivery - not the in-store experience. (I don't like the dusty and messy warehouse feel of Walmart stores so I typically wouldn't shop at Walmart - it's also often further out of the way.) TL;DR - Excellent customer service and clerk with their online grocery pick up orders. My pick-up order the first time several months ago was very friendly individual who also packed the orders well and was eager to help. This time was also no different. The items were fresh and properly packaged and sorted to avoid cross contamination. I especially like they cared to add an extra (typically fruit/produce bag) thin bag to separate the deli meats on its own. Very pleased with the customer service so thought it was worthwhile a review - this is only of their Walmart.ca Online Pick up and Delivery service. Excellent product picking and packing. Clearly the clerk cared to ensure products were properly packaged. Ordered from Burnaby Walmart once for pick up and once (this time) for delivery; when pick up order I remember the clerk was very friendly and eager to help. This time for delivery the items were properly packaged and sorted based on items like bread on its own to avoid crushing, delis, and heavy sauces seperately. Very thoughtful. I live atop a Save On Foods (still, I mostly opt for the convenience of grocery delivery and food delivery) and don't like the crowded warehouse feel of Walmart so were it not for delivery (used to order on Cornershop but the shopper was hit or miss; once they picked a detergent that was clearly returned and diluted so thought to order direct as I had a $20 off $100 promo from Walmart - and very pleased with the service. Delivery was $10.97 added fee compared to Cornershop which offers free delivery over $40 - however they do charge a 10.5% service fee and tips are typically 10% so if you're going to make an order over $100, it still makes more sense to order with Walmart. Pick-up Service is free.) The first time I ordered at Burnaby Walmart was for pick-up about a year ago and the experience was very pleasant and effortless. Despite that experience, I reverted mostly to delivery orders than pick-up... it made more sense to do delivery as you get free delivery with Uber Cornershop (and then Instacart gives you promotions when you don't order for a while which is like two coupons of $20 of $35 LOL. So, then I'd occasionally opt for Instacart every couple months.) In contrast, shortly after Walmart pick-up I also ordered once for pick up at Richmond Walmart when in the area - and the experience there was more haphazard (very inconvenient as the pick-up was about a 5 minutes walk from the front entrance whereas they also took about another 10-20 minutes to get to you and the product packaging was very thoughtless). Since then I've mostly just been ordering delivery through Instacart or Cornershop. However, a recent experience the shopper was fairly inconsiderate in choosing a product that was clearly tampered with (dirty detergent bottle and when pouring was like water). So with the coupon code from Walmart expiring December 31st, I thought to order delivery direct with Walmart. The packaging and product picking was excellent. 10/10. The shopper clearly put good thought into separating the produce and items that might get crushed. Even going so far as adding a separate transparent bag for deli meats (not necessary - some may think it's an environment matter but these transparent bags decompose quickly - and this process would be especially valuable for meats... delis are less a concern as they are already preserved and sealed so you are not as likely to get cross contamination or food safety issue - but if they do this for deli meats I'd expect they also do this for meats). Bought a whole bunch of deli meats and frozen pizzas and hashbrowns for easy & quick meals. (Not healthy per se, but convenient nonetheless.) The delivery on the other hand had some glitches. They used Doordash for contract delivery. The updates were good and timely BUT the app was delayed and so the driver arrived when the app showed it still a KM or two away. Went down to greet the driver immediately who was still in his car rather than bringing the items to the front door which would have been a little more logical. Overall, if you're going to order Walmart.ca pick-up or delivery; the Burnaby Metrotown seems to have excellent service (ensuring you get proper products picked and pack) both times so I'd consider it fairly consistent. (This compared to the Richmond Walmart which is a little more inconvenient and haphazard - and even more inconsistent is Cornershop or Instacart... but Cornershop deliveries are free with UberOne - and they also have added promotions on top of in-store prices; so often times, it's cheaper or exactly what you'd pay in store - before tips.) It doesn't seem you need to tip Walmart.ca deliveries. read more

Metrotown Walmart needs to train their staff. Half the time, they don't even know where items are located. If they don't know, do not guess and send me up the wrong aisle! This is my biggest complaint, however....they have great sales but just on their flyer. When we go to the store, "we're out of stock" or "we never received a shipment". Really? I can understand once, twice and/or maybe three times but this is ALL the time!!! I don't appreciate the false advertisements, just to bring in the shoppers to your store. read more

I came here cause there was some picture frames on sale for my decorating project and I browsed the rest of the walmart to see what else they have but their selection was disappointing and honestly the prices are average but nothing super great like down in the border, even with the exchange. Not really a Supercentre as it's confined into the limited space available in a mall but they've clearly tried to cram as much as they could in the space that formerly housed a Target. Groceries, some housewares (namely kitchen products), seasonal items and customer service are on the lower floor while everything else is upstairs. They've retained Target's cart escalator to make it easy for shoppers to move their carts between the two floors. Due to the limited space, the store's selection is fairly limited compared to others and it's not as targeted to local demographics as other stores' because it's situated in the mega-mall that everyone in the Lower Mainland visits. Therefore, you won't find everything here but you will find all the essentials. read more

Disrespectful, ridiculous, or absurd are the words that come to mind when thinking of the traditional check out and spending over 20 minutes to pay 3 items, worse thing is that in front of me there were only 3 clients!!! Staff seems confused, inexperienced or badly trained or all of the above having to reenter who knows what codes several times and engaging in time wasting conversations with every other client and calling their supervisor over and over who again punches lots of numbers for lots of produce that the staff doesn't know the codes. But the cherry on the top is when somebody has the awful idea to apply for a credit card at the check out, then you wish you brought sandwiches to have supper while you wait your turn and pay for your sins in this hellish nightmare. read more

This is not the way to treat with the customer that I went to request them for help to sort out on the Movelo bike that has not been rideable even though it is rolling because of substandard mountain bike product by Movelo Chinese company. Manager could help on that easily to return it but he did not intend to help me today Nov 9, 2020 after noon around 2pm in Metro Town Walmart superstore. Associate tried to assist me to return the bike but manager was not intending to return. Another African associate called head office to get the customer representative phone online and she gave me phone number of rizebike 18886001545 when I called this number customer rep replied me and mentioned that this number do not belong to Movelo rather it is rizebike phone number. The WORST Walmart of them all --- and one of them are any good. Bought seven (7) items and was charged for eight (8)! First item was bread, which I did NOT buy. Then there were FOUR (4) more mistakes on the same bill. Items rung in twice and the deleted. Total confusion. Had to return and because it was only my second visit to this store I asked where the Customer Service department was. The "greeter" at the front door very rudely pointed to a sign next to me, which was the Customer Service Dept. But because I wasn't standing in front of it I couldn't see it. The clerk acted as though I was some idiot child (I'm 80 years old!) Then when I reprimanded her on her action she sarcastically showed me the way. I commented that she didn't need to be a "sarcastic bitch" about it, and she almost exploded! I asked for the manager, who came quite quickly. She reviewed my bill and gave me a full refund. But I had to ask for an apology. The manager obviously didn't really give two hoots about me. I am closing my WalMart account now, despite having threatened to do so for a while. Moreover, I wrote the CEO of WalMart some months ago complaining about the incredibly rude and incompetent service at the WalMart in New Westminster. I never got a response. WalMart also pushes you to "donate" at their checkout stands. WalMart gets the tax credit for these "donations" and there certainly is no guarantee that the money collected actually goes to the organizations that need the help! Yet another WalMart RIP OFF!!!!!! Finally Metrotown has opened a walmart near my area, it is so convenient. Their floors are confusing to locate items but overall everything is good. Lots of self checkout especially if cashiers are busy and your in a rush. It helps! Customer service is good and cleanliness! read more

This Walmart at Metro town sucks. People who work here need to learn some soft skills and have to treat their customers with due respect. They are rude. They got the wrong price for an item and I asked to correct it. They refused to do it even it's from their own Shelf. I had to go and take a picture from their shelf to make sure they get it. They still refused it and this does not make any sense. what a nightmare. The call center/customer service on the phone apologies but that is not enough. i was asking for something weird from customer service over the phone and assumed i was prank calling, I was serious BY THE WAY. I never got to know if they had it and then the man threatened to call the cops on me like?? I kept telling him I actually needed my thing and i told him i was serious but noooo he kept saying he was gonna call the cops. Just lost a customer for life. Maybe make sure before you're assuming because that guy was so annoying and wouldn't believe me at all so now i don't even know if my thing is in stock and i am not coming to check because this place is a trash dump don't come here. I saw someone pee in the corner of an isle once. And the worker called me a little "too chubby" the last time i came here. Don't come ever it's not worth it. Go to another walmart no matter how far it is. This one is simply unhygienic and rude. I asked another walmart if they had my product in stock and they took me seriously and checked if they did.
