A highlight of my visit was watching Jarvis, the robot barista, prepare lattes for customers--it added a fun, modern touch to the experience. On this trip, I picked up a portable eyelash curler (adorable travel size) and a portable stainless steel cutlery set. I really appreciate Muji's wide assortment of merchandise and their affordable price points. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit and would happily return.

But over the last couple of years not only has this store and its content deteriorated but the service has been intolerable everytime I step inside there. Most recent visit I was looking for a few final Christmas knick knacks. Walked in, no staff in site. I wanted to ask about an item I was looking for and finally found all 3 staff in one of the rows chatting away. I didn't bother them nor did they look like they were into helping anyone so went and found a few items on my own. Went to the front desk to purchase. Nothing. After a few minutes someone finally came to the till, completely ignoring me standing there and helped someone else. Rude. Finally I get to give them my money. She asks if I want a bag, yes I have multiple items of course I do. She rings it up and doesn't give me a bag. "I heard you say no" No, you didn't because I didn't say that. So now she wants me to do another transaction to pay 40 cents for a bag. No. Terrible customer service, I would rather walk home holding each individual item than ever give this terrible store another penny of mine.

visited miniso on granville street, and this is exactly the kind of store where "i'm just going to…read morehave a quick look" is a dangerous sentence. five minutes later, you're surrounded by sanrio characters, plushies, beauty gadgets and enough cute little things to make you question every ounce of self control you thought you had. miniso has built its whole personality around affordable, design forward impulse buys, somewhere between a lifestyle shop, character merch destination and a treasure hunt. the company originated in china but draws heavily from a minimalist japanese inspired aesthetic, so the store feels bright, clean and deliberately curated rather than chaotic or overcrowded. inside, there was a surprisingly huge mix of things to browse: makeup and beauty accessories, shelves packed with sanrio goodies, slippers, hair brushes, cutlery, water bottles and an entire wall of plushies. there was also plenty of mofusand and minions merch, because apparently i needed to be reminded that my shopping basket has room for at least one more adorable thing. a big part of miniso's appeal is the collectible culture. licensed collaborations, blind boxes, character goods, stationery, desk accessories, little gadgets and novelty items are all displayed in a way that makes even the most unnecessary purchase feel strangely reasonable. everything is affordable enough that you can easily convince yourself, "it's only a few dollars," which is precisely how "just looking" turns into "okay, i'll take this one too." they even have a rewards program, which somehow makes the entire impulse buy cycle feel more organized and intentional. points for buying things i didn't know i needed? suddenly this is a strategic shopping expedition. the whole experience is basically engineered for browsing. you walk in expecting to spend five minutes, and somehow you're examining cat themed keychains, skincare tools, sanrio accessories and stationery you had absolutely no plans to buy when you walked through the door. and honestly, that's half the fun of miniso. you never quite know what you're going to find, and the rotating mix of characters and collaborations gives you plenty of reasons to wander through the aisles "just one more time." just don't blame me when you leave with a plushie you definitely did not come in for.

I like that the merchandise is displayed with no gaps for things that might be out of stock. Lends to a nicer overall appearance to the store. I also appreciate that they're well staffed so it's easy to get a hold of someone if I had any questions. The staff are nice and polite. All and all, I always enjoy my time at this location - whether I am buying or something or just browsing.

Aberdeen mall used to have a Daiso, but the company has since changed. There might be some competition with Daiso, as it is located directly across from the Dollarama store at this mall. I highly recommend checking this place out as it i has a lot of trinkets that you may not seen elsewhere. An example of the trinket I am referring to is the portable handcart. Too cute to not buy! I also put a lego figurine to show you how small it is.

The quality of goods sold here are of pretty decent quality. I would say better than the likes of Dollarama and Dollar tree. With that said, this place seems to sell mostly household items. The store isn't that big either, so selection is somewhat limited. Not a bad place to pick up some stuff and spend a few bucks.

It's a rather small, and fun dollar store we found during recent stays and walkabouts in this Korean District area of Coquitlam. Though small, the stacks are full of the typical, and not so typical 'stuff & such', and the staff are very friendly. If you enjoy checking out local dollar stores, you could/might find this one fun for a browse.
