Always in the snack aisle

Japanese lifestyle store inside a mall. Huge store with two levels and even a small cafe - all reasonably priced compared to the food court in the mall. They all looked great and I got a strawberry sundae. Large selection and all neatly organized. I saw a lot of staff walking around and re-organizing as I perused around (not sure if they're keeping an eye on everyone as well since they sell lots of small items). Prices in general were also good.

The crepe is not very good. I had such a hard time chewing it or cutting it with the wooden knives. Would not order again. The rest of Oomomo is amazing, though! Love the assortment of offerings from snacks to useful things for the home.

Staff were nice. There are plenty of things to pick from, and the area is clean and maintained well. The prices are good. Although i wish they served smaller portions in their menu.

There was Chinese new year eve celebration at Aberdeen center so i decided to check Oomomo out. I haven't visited oomomo in years and was surprised how things have changed. The store layout is very different and there were a lot of new additions. They had anime figures and Gundam models for sale. Some of them were a tad overpriced though. They had a staff member standing near the figure display case at all times, im guessing to assist people who want to take a closer look or purchase them. Another new addition i saw was a dessert, coffee, and tea cafe. They had a small dining area at the side. I will try it out on a future visit. I saw a few cool stationary things that had a interesting design so I bought them. They had a cute milk carton shaped pencil case and a very cute Nintendo Kirby mini spray bottle at 3 bucks each. There was also a 2 hour only midnight special where every drink was half off. I bought a very popular drink called, Calpis, a non carbonated drink in peach flavor. I also got Ramune, a very interesting looking drink that includes a glass marble inside of it. Both were delicious. They were available in the chilled drinks section at about $2 each. Many other customers also bought drinks. The bottled iced tea was pretty popular. I spent over an hour on both floors looking at the thousands and thousands of products. They sure have a lot of things. They were open until midnight just for the Chinese new year countdown event so I had plenty of time to browse around. Some of the prices are outrageous but most of the items were reasonably priced. I just don't understand how pencil cases can cost $25-30. It had a cool design though. The stuff they sell are more expensive than dollarama but the things they sell are of better quality. Staff were friendy and fast. There were no queues and I was able to checkout right away. I asked one of the staff members questions about the Japanese drinks the sold and the store in general. They were happy to help me out. The store itself is super tidy and organized. Each item category had large signs that you can see from far away. Staff were easy to find if you need assistance finding something. One thing i noticed is that they toned the volume of the Japanese pop music because I didn't really notice it. It used to be kinda loud. Overall, I don't have really have any negatives to say about Oomomo. They have a ton of selection (better and bigger selection than their metrotown branch in my opinion) and is worth checking out if you happen to be at Aberdeen center. 5 stars based on this visit. The pics I included are items i got from my shopping haul.

Oomomo is a Japanese home goods store in the vein of Daiso but looks to be slightly higher quality and slightly more pricey. They carry a very wide variety of different things--running the gamut from kitchen ware (cookware, bakeware, storage and utensils), table ware (plates, bowls, serving trays, place settings), decorative items (faux flowers, vases, smaller floor mats and wall art), stationary, snacks (chips, candies, cookies and non-alcoholic drinks), to bathroom and seasonal items. This place has it all. Great place to stock up on ceramic bowls, plates and serving ware - they have a breadth of attractive and affordable designs. Many items in the store are made in Japan, which still stands for decent quality in my book. As expected from Japanese carry-all stores they also have some very cute items like scissors that are shaped like a rabbit, or the smallest little measuring cup (see photo) and cast iron pan teaspoon *^_^* not to mention a bunch of cute stuffed animals (not pictured), and a good selection of nice stickers (hard to find these days). The store itself is quite large, with two floors. There are signs with general categories posted in the store, so it's fairly clear where to locate any items you're searching for. There are still a lot of items placed in the front store areas so best to walk around and take a look if there's something specific you're searching for. When I was there, I went downstairs to check out.

Lots of toppings. Made to order.

Omg this place is sooooo cute. Nice little dining spot, bright, clean look. Prices are amazing, $5 for a fresh crepe with whip, banana, scoops of almonds, and chocolate drizzle. Made right before your eyes fresh to order.

Looks like Daiso changed its near to Oomomo. The store is still owned by the same owner Fairchild Group. They cut off Daiso (franchise) but in terms of all the goods and everything are coming from the same Daiso suppliers. Oomomo is only in Canada (from what I can see). Basically the owner cut off the middleman and also no more Daiso franchise fees. The layout and everything remains the same. Quality are ok. Prices are cheap and definitely great if you are on a budget. It is better than the typical dollar store. This Oomomo is located in Aberdeen mall. It has lots of free parking.

Here is another gem to check out in Aberdeen Center, Oomomo cafe located inside the Oomomo store, they served Japanese Mazazu Crepe, teas, coffees and more. The soft-served ice cream green tea and milk are highly recommended it's creamy, flavourful and not so sweet. We also tried strawberry choco tiramisu crepe and green tea shiratama azuki parfait, they're seriously delicious if you prefer not-so-sweet yet tasty desserts. I'm not sure but I want to point out as well that when paying it goes directly to pay, not the tip option. I visited twice already and that's how it was. I Will do another update on my third and fourth visits.

How can you NOT love a store where everything is practically $2 ($1.50 USD)?! It's like the Candadian Daiso Japan. Pros: -This place is a two-story store full of adorable Asian accessories and goods! -Parking was super easy and it's connected to additional Asian flavored stores. -They even had SALES on seasonal items! I couldn't even imagine that you could put some of these items on sale! Cons: -Not the most friendly of staff but they were pretty focused on stocking the store so that's not a bad thing. -Some of the isles are very narrow that makes it hard to walk through... even though the store has ample space to spread out.

I have not been to Aberdeen Mall for awhile and did not realize that Daiso was gone! However, I decided to check out this store. The store was rebranded and it appears to be under the same parent company. The selection is better than other comparable dollar stores. Items are $2 and up. I find the quality of many items very good for the price. I noticed a lot of items still have the Daiso logo on their packaging. I usually stock up on cotton puffs and noticed the prices have gone up to $2.50 while the puff count has decreased to 60 puffs. I guess cost of living has gone up and prices adjusted to match. I did ended up buying some laundry bags and kitchen utensils.

Herman Y.

Located in the Aberdeen Centre, this is similar to the Daiso stores. They sell a variety of Japanese products, some of which you don't find in the Daiso stores or Don Quijote stores. They also have a small food stall.

It does have anchor tenants at all sides, so remember where you come in from. What I appreciate about this mall is the prices at the food court. I'm not sure if there is an agreement or something, but most of the food operators have at least a couple of items under $10, making it very affordable. Some even sell coffee or tea at under $2. You do see many elderly Asians here, maybe that's why there is cheaper options? They do occupy the tables at the food court chatting for a long period of time. Think of this as another version of Timmies, but with more food options. I was told the T&T here is the largest and it is busy at all hours. The parking area near it is always full. Park elsewhere where it has more empty spots. I like this Asian mini mart (Smart Save) where you can get many food stuff from Asia that are not available in T&T. Public Safety Complaint: Injury Caused by Negligence at Marshalls Marine Drive, Vancouver…read more I am writing to report a serious safety incident that occurred at the Marshalls store on Marine Drive in Vancouver on Monday, August 4, 2025, at approximately 2:30 PM. While trying on a pair of jeans in the fitting room, I suffered a painful and entirely preventable injury due to the store's negligence. As I pulled up the jeans, I was suddenly scratched by a long, sharp, exposed needle protruding from a security tag that lacked a protective end cap. The result was a 15-centimeter-long bleeding cut on my left thigh (I have photos)--a painful and alarming injury that could have easily been avoided with proper safety protocols. Upon realizing the injury, I immediately returned the faulty security tag to Commie, the store associate at the fitting room desk, and showed her the bleeding wound. Commie responded with empathy and promptly escalated the issue to the store manager, Aonchal. Unfortunately, the store's handling of the situation from that point onward was highly unprofessional and deeply disappointing. Despite my request, store Manager Aonchal declined to view the injury and offered only a few adhesive bandages, which were insufficient to cover the full extent of the 15-centimeter bleeding wound on my left thigh, as documented in the attached photos. I was left to treat the injury myself at home, using my own medical supplies to adequately dress the laceration. Manager Aonchal further stated that there was "nothing they could do," and advised me to contact the company's 1-800 customer service line at a later time. No formal incident report was filed, and at no point was there any demonstration of genuine concern for my safety or well-being. As a result, I felt dismissed, unsupported, and treated in a manner lacking basic compassion and professionalism. In response to my continued concern and request for a professional resolution, another manager, Omer, arrived and offered a $25 gift card. I declined this offer, as I found it to be an inadequate and dismissive response to a serious physical injury. A bleeding wound of this nature--caused by a store's carelessness--is not worth $25. My intention in raising this issue was not for compensation alone, but to highlight a dangerous lapse in customer safety standards that could affect others, including children. This was not merely an unfortunate incident--it was a public safety hazard. The failure to properly secure a sharp object on a garment is a clear case of negligence, and it exposes all customers to potential harm. --- I formally urge Marshalls and its parent company, TJX Canada, to: Immediately review and correct in-store procedures for tagging and securing merchandise. Ensure all security tags are safely capped or removed before trying-on. Implement proper training for staff in responding to customer injuries, including incident documentation and basic first aid response. Acknowledge this incident and take public responsibility for the harm caused. --- I am now left with a painful wound, a visible scar on my left thigh, and a sense of mistrust in your store's ability to protect and care for its customers. I share this publicly in the hope that no one else has to suffer from the same injury or the same dismissive treatment I experienced. Sincerely, A concerned and injured customer

The food court is obviously tailored more towards the lunchtime crowd, as it was totally dead by dinner time (only 2 places open). The shopping area is pretty dead too in the evening too, other than a bakery. The place used to be more lively when there was a T&T here, but that is long gone.
