I find that the staff here are not really helpful anymore. Many don't understand what you are asking them and no very helpful. Today I was asking if they had all the Christmas things packed away. The two workers said yes they were putting them away but they couldn't be bothered to look at me and speak with me. It was like I was imposing on their private conversations. I wanted to buy one of the storage bins but a piece was missing g so wondered if they could help with that. I didn't bother asking. Disappointing. There is a good selection of products and prices are reasonable though. I enjoyed walking and looking at the selection. The customer service here is excellent. There are other locations closer to me, but this one is worth the drive. Especially if you need to return something. They make returns so easy here and no questions asked! Whereas other Canadian Tire stores make it a huge hassle and extremely difficult. So ridiculous. This was a better store than others that I've been to! No stupid security guards giving you the hairy eyeball when you walk in, I wish it was easier access by transit. My usual store the at cambie guard always stares at me when I walk in or tries to tell me I have to leave my purse at the counter, it's a Herschel fanny pack not a big huge back pack. So one day he insisted and I walked out and said yeah I'll go to Home Depot instead they had no issue with my purse. I filed a complaint with corporate along with a picture of my offensive purse and they said that it is well within the size allowance. Why can't I bring my bicycle into the store? There's a basket attached to it so it's very convenient to know how much I can carry, or if a bicycle accessory would work. Why are baby carriages and wheelchairs allowed in but not bicycles? Why are there no "no-bicycle" signs? I've had two bicycles stolen from me, why can't I live in a safe community without bicycle robberies? I am not a fan of this Canadian Tire. It is hard to get help when you need help. When I found someone, the guy just tries to ignore me and pretend to not notice that I was calling for him. I later wanted to get a key cut and then I was told that the person at the counter is not able to do it and I would have to wait. I found it absurd. Who am I waiting for? After a few minutes of waiting, I left. The cashier made no attempt to call someone who is able to cut keys and I am not sure if the key cutting person would know I am waiting for him or her. Well the store is big and there are plenty of free parking so that is a good thing. Not a fan of this Canadian Tire. read more

The only good thing about this place is the huge parking lot in the plaza. During the big promotion or sale day like Black Friday, you need to come here when they opened. Otherwise the items will be out of stock in a couple of hours. So now I don't bother with those 1 day only sale price though the discount can be good. Just not worth the hassle for me now. The website is also inaccurate for the quantity available in the store. It is usually far less or none in the store. The barcode scanning machine is a joke. It is set so close to the wall it is very much impossible to scan bulky or boxes where the barcode is away from the edge. And it is not easy to find staff for price check. As other yelpers mentioned, the price tag on shelves is usually inaccurate too. I only come here to get things because parking is easier than other places in vancouver. This store is relatively big too. It is just pretty much a buyer beware place. Do your homework and check your receipt. read more

I went to check a hybrid bike and what I wanted to try was on the rack at three story's high. It took while to find a store clerk who really can bring it down. And I found three bikes which has wrong price tags. Pls be aware and keep the their online page's screen shot. Otherwise you can't buy any forever. Their racks are messed up. The young Asian lady who managed my request was very patient. After I left the store, I had noticed my bike saddle was not settled well. So I returned to the store to get fixed again. read more

The first on was being the ONLY PERSON IN LINE and having one teller close as I walked up amd then having another teller not ready to open because she couldn't get her sht together. I brought my car in for a simple oil change,that ended up being a lot more. And now my car has been through oil change to a belt change to that messing up and actually coming off. So again he to buy a new part that the mechanics somehow didn't mention that I needed. All that done and 2 days later car won't even start I definitely do not recommend bringing your car here at all. Unless you want to pay more and more money for parts that they somehow forget to tell you you need at the time that you bring it in. I would give it less than one starbut I can't. Usually the service in the store is non existent. I feel as though I'm on a mission to find help, as well as almost forcing someone to help me as they are not willing. Yesterday I needed new wipers. I went to the auto department and Nathan, was exceptional. He was fast, willing, offered a lot of advice and went the extra mile with recommendations. There's a middle aged lady that works in the parts department with glasses..she is by far the best employee I have encountered at any Canadian tire.But came in today and enquired about having my ford escape looked at as I just bought it and back right end is very loud.Told a Turtle clone from the series Entourage about it as well as the tire pressure sensor warning message showing,He informed me it would be $177.00,just for the estimate.I told him hes dreaming..ridiculous!.He told me every shop charges for an estimate.So they lose my job..and he is full of BS. I have had great service here and the general manager that works there actually helps you take large items to your car! They have always treated me with great care and I have mentioned that they have exciting cashiers that tell funny jokes to brighten up your day! I always have a great shopping experience when I go here and you can tell by the ratings they do work hard in customer satisfaction. This place is so much better then the one on Cambie and staff have mentioned that many customers are not happy when they go there and that's why they come to us! It's really hard to get help at this Canadian Tire or any of their stores for that matter. When I do find help, they try to answer your questions, but they don't really care. I do like this new location and the size of it though. The parking lot is huge and I never have any problems looking for a spot. I got in to the bicycle department today with a bike rim. I wanted to buy 2 inner tubes and 2 tires for my bike. The service person in the department was just finished with another customer, so I felt myself lucky. Telling him what I wanted pointing to the rim I brought with me, he just pointed to a shelf about 20 ft away. I felt a little dumbfounded, looking through the massive merchandise for a while and I couldn't find what I needed. I walked back over to him (the department was not busy at all at that time) and told him, that I would be needing some help. He was totally not in the picture of what I needed and what to look for. He seemed to be lost with all the numbers and sizes, a lot worse than I. Canadian Tire is one of those places that reminds me of my childhood, my dad always shopped at CT. nothing much has changed about this "all Canadian store" this location is big, located at the Marker crossing strip mall. The store layout is good, it never seems busy to me which I like. Never seems to be under staffed so always people to help you out. I go to the automotive centre all the time for oil change and whatever else my car needs. Great service, the guys are really nice and helpful to a girl who knows very little about cars. Its first come first serve, generally wait 2-4hours. I usually walk around but they do have a nice waiting area. read more

The store is almost committing fraud and the manager, Michael Widdifield doesn't think this is an important problem. I went to this store to purchase a Garage Door Opener as advertised. I found the Garage Door Opener and then was SUPER careful. I made sure everything the advertisement stated was on the box. I get to the cashier and they ring it though $40 above sale price. I ask for a correction and cashier says they often have items that look like the sale item, but are over priced. Surprisely, they didn't have any of the sale items left. I asked how I was to know which item is on sale and she said she couldn't help. I asked her if it seems like fraud and she said YES. I asked to speak with the manager. The attendant called repeatedly and after 15 minutes said Michael Widdifield must not think this is that important. I left very unhappy! read more

I've tried calling them literally 10+ times since the weekend and have not been able to get through once. I got through to the seasonal department and the lady says "no one can answer the phone because they are too busy". Are you kidding me? I've called first thing in the morning, late at night, middle of the day, nothing. You think it's acceptable to tell your customers that no one can answer the phone? Wow. I want to like Canadian Tire, I really do cause their sale prices are amazing and their return and exchange policy is decent. However when I find and entire rack with about 15 gazebo tents marked $19.99 I expect you to honor that price. We dragged the giant ass thing to the checkout to find out it is $119.99, so off we go back to the rack where yes it is indeed marked $19.99 and not a one off thrown in the wrong spot, after 10 minutes of waiting while the manager is on the phone with the employee (yes, on the phone, they couldn't step out of their office for 2 minutes to help a customer!?!) and were told they messed up and they cannot honor a price any lower then $119.99. With simply an apology and nothing more for our embarrassment of having to be "those people holding up the entire line" and over 10 minutes wasted confirming their error we are sent away with nothing for our troubles. And the Manager would not even come down and apologize for it in person...pretty bad customer service if you ask me. read more

Good location with enough parking shared among other tenants. Clean, organized and wide aisle makes it easy to find your goods and leave. Too bad they don't have any self check-out stands for the self sufficient customers. I usually know where to find the stuff I need without any help from their customer service reps. But, it really bogs down at the check stands because they usually have one freaking cashier at a time. It takes them forever for another staff member to notice and open up a second line. I realize in these tough economic times that retailers need to cut down on staff hours in order to make profit and to give us lower prices. But, everyone knows that the worst experience in retail shopping is waiting at the check stands to pay. Until the day technology allows us to walk out the door with our stuff and billed for it like in Minority Report, please provide self check-outs. read more

I went into Cdn. Tire at Burnaby Market Crossing, April 30, 2020 around 9:00 am. I wanted to return a sprinkler hose that had sprung a leak after two weeks of use. I waited at the Return Counter. The one clerk was busy with a customer. Of course, they have the place cordoned off because of COVID-19 but it sure isn't 6 feet of distance. They have the counter, the customer, a rope, and you line up behind the rope according the marks on the floor. Except, you are right behind the customer! No 6 feet. Maybe 6 inches? When the clerk waited on me, I couldn't get a refund for the leaking hose I had to get another hose. She kept my original receipt. I was out of sorts, but went and picked a different style, hoping it'd work better. When I got back to the counter. the clerk was waiting on two people, and another clerk came up with a trolley of stuff needing her attention. Did I mention no one was wearing protection gear except ME? No masks, no gloves, no nothing. The Returns clerk was wearing a short sleeved red Cdn. Tire golf shirt. She turned away from the counter and sneezed into her bare elbow. A second later, she wiped her nose with the back of her wrist. Another second later, she wiped her eyes. WHAT part of COVID-19 doesn't she get? Where are the gloves and wipes for this stores' staff? I stood in shock. I thought of her handling my prior receipt. Yuck. Forget it. I returned the new hose to the shelf, and tried to get out of the store. The door to the auto section was locked - fair enough. The maze to the check outs was twice as long as usual, with people in it. I went back to the Return counter and managed to get a couple of women out of my way so I could get the hell out of that store. I won't return while the virus is making the rounds. Canadian Tire is like London Drugs to me. I can wander the aisles for a life time. This past weekend I went to look at herbs as they had a few that I wanted a few days before but couldn't get at the time. Well needless to say that most of the herbs I wanted were gone and the herb/plants that were there needed a lot of TLC. This is what gave it only 4 stars, that and the fact that they had no carts outside so I could bring in soil but they have the store on such lock down that it's hard to get a cart from inside, outside lol. What docks it to 3 points is the customer service one gets at the check out. You can't even call it service, it's customer something but not service. This is not the first time I have had this issue at this store either. Essentially the customer gets ignored while the cashiers chat about what they are going to do that day after shift etc. Really is this the way to treat your customers? I think not. If I answered the phone at work and asked the client to hold I had to tell my co-workers about my day first, you know my arse would be kicked the heck out lol. Anyway, if they get better staff I would be more inclined to shop here but alas I don't because the service is crap so I take my money somewhere else, like Home Depot and the like. read more

This place is chronically understaffed, disorganized, and no on responds to the page buttons randomly placed through out the store. I don't really have many good things to say about this place. The only the that keeps me coming back is the occasional sale on Mastercraft tools and tool sets. On sale they're a good value for their quality. I have a horrible experience yesterday in Canadian Tire Market Crossing, customer service from 1 tall big white lady who doesn't seem to like working. I am telling this so Canadian Tire Market Crossing will know how bad the attitude and customer service to those 2 big white Ladies. First time I bought something in Canadian Tire Market Crossing as far as I remember and I need some assistance for one product whose box is already broken And asking her on how does that mobile holder work cuz I am a bit confused and I don't want to be the reason why it's broken just incase because the box is already open. She don't seem to have patience And by the way, she isn't that busy. I felt so ashamed to myself that I felt stupid on how she responded on me. CANADIAN TIRE CAR SERVICE REVIEWS. WARNING WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY from SHARKS.. I took my out of province car to this place for inspection, so i can get it registered, I dropped the car and the guy told me that I will get a phone call once it's done,after 2 hrs he called me up, when i got there, he said to me your car has failed inspection and presented me with 2500$ worth of repairs that needed to be done before it passes the inspection. I was so shocked I nearly had a heart attack, my car is just under 4 years old and 60k on the clock, he goes i needed new brakes, rotors, change my windows and all bunch of stuff,I confronted the guy, he goes if you do the repairs with us i will give you 20% discount.. I said thanks but no thanks,I wanted a second opinion, so I took the car to my local dealership for a full inspection, they found no issue, i asked whether my brakes were ok, they say at least for another year, but i just decided to change them anyway, 2 days later I took the car back to Canadian Tire along with the full inspection report from the dealership, and showed it to the same guy. he looked amazed and he goes the mechanic who inspected the car is off today,he will be here in 2 days time, we will call you when he is in, I said to him i ddn't come here for another inspection just to show you this report, and shame you Since the dealer doesnt have the ICBC inspection license, I took the car to another local mechanic with an ICBC inspection license, he found no mechanical or security issues with the car, the only thing he suggested was an air filter which cost me 25$. and another inspection fee of 125$, which was worth it in my opinion, Canadian tire had charged 135$ for nothing. I feel sorry for people with older cars, STAY AWAY FROM BRANDED COMPANIES SUCH,CANADIAN TIRE CAR SERVICE,THEY WILL OVER SERVICE YOU, do your research first and go to your local mechanics, I nearly called the news on them.. I liked this location as it is 3 minutes from my house and has tonnes of parking! My last experience here was atrocious. I went in for carabiners, but found ten discounted wire shelves for inside my kitchen cupbards (score! only three ninety nine) I appoached the cashier with my four carabiners and ten racks (they hold four mugs, small) and the cashier, and older woman named Sanda, watched us put down our items and immediately said "SH+T" I was shocked into a stupor. Two people lined up behind us and she said with a huge sigh, "you better line up somewhere else, this is going to take a while" cue the other customers to look at me and my order. I was horrified and embarassed. Then she sighed again and complained that as they were marked down she had to enter them all manually. The total transaction took no more than 2 minutes, which I could not speak at all since I was so mortified and insulted. Having worked in customer service for years before my current job, I know how hard it is when people are mean to you, but I hadn't even had a chance to open my mouth before this woman swore at me. I have made complaints to the head offices and plan on going back to speak with a manager. I can accept employees not backing down from crazy rude customers, but this was insane. Really inconsistent service in their Auto department. You call to make an appointment, and they tell you that you can't make an appointment, service is drop in only. You walk in (at 8 am, right at opening), and they tell you that they are booked up and I should have called in advance? It seems that the ONLY way to get service here is to WALK IN and make in appointment. How archaic. read more

DO NOT get your skates sharpened at this Canadian Tire! The employees do not know how to sharpen skates. I was here with my husband picking up some hockey equipment for our young boys and thought we would also sharpen their skates while we shop. The girl behind the service counter seem nervous and even said to a fellow employee that he should stop watching her because he's making her nervous while prepping the skate sharpener. After nearly an hour for 3 pairs of skates to sharpen it was another ordeal to pay. We brought in our own skates but the cashier kept insisting on 'scanning' our skates. We told her there was no bar code to scan because these are our own skates! When we went skating the next day, my boys couldn't skate! They kept falling and we realized the skates were not even sharp! They almost ruined my husband's expensive skates! We should have been the better to choice to get them sharpen at a real Sport store! Went out of our way to go to this Canadian Tire because they had stock on an item we wanted. While I we were there I decided to buy a multi-crafting tool. When we got home I took the tool out of the box and decided it was too large for what we intended to use it for and decided to return it to the Canadian Tire store close to my home. I received a hard time from the return clerk on Sequin Drive because she said the item had been used!!! I told her we did not use the item whatsoever and got it off the shelf. After several minutes of her badgering me and bringing over another employee to ask if she confirm her thoughts that the item had been used which she could not the return clerk finally gave me a refund. BE VERY CAREFUL with the Market Crossing location as they obviously restock returned/used items on their shelves. Canadian Tire - the men's version of Sephora. I like this new big-box store because it has plenty of parking, the products are fairly organized and they usually have plenty of stock. The Market Crossing location is a plus because you can get your shopping done at the nearby stores. We came in here to kill some time but I walked out with a wheeled hockey bag - 1/2 price! They could improve with a tiny bit of customer service though and I don't mean small talk. Also, the check-out exits are extremely tiny for a big-box store. read more

Took my car in for out of province inspection - I was informed that in order to pass inspection, my windshield wipers to be replaced and for my headlight covers to be replaced (I expected something, out of province inspections are an invitation for shops to take your money). Anyways, I gave the OK for the work and was told it would be an hour and a half. I show up an hour and a half later and am told it will be another 15, so I come back 15 mins later and am told it will be another 30 mins. I come back 30 mins later and am still waiting. I get that things go wrong, BUT DON'T GIVE A TIME ESTIMATE IF YOU CAN'T MEET IT! Tell me you will call me, or give yourself an exaggerated amount of time in which you KNOW you can complete the work... so I am not wasting my time waiting for you (while paying an arm and a leg for a babysitter, because I didn't want to inconvenience the store with my screaming baby. Next time I will bring screamy, I am thinking he could have only helped the speed of my service...) Anyways, here I sit.. 5 hours later still waiting for my car. Grrr. read more
