Found another place that does lobster sticky rice and it taste so much better than our usual spot in Vancouver! Only con is they don't have any stir fry dishes and does only chicken specialty soup pots, then finish off with hot pot soup in it. Owner was nice and showed us how to properly first drink and eat the food. Lol We ate rather late night to avoid the rush, so she had time to chat with us and even gave us a free milk tea. The kids didn't like the soup base we got as it had some Chinese herbs but they loved the sticky rice with lobster, it was flavorful and rice was soft filled with the lobster sauce. Dinner was around 200$ cad for our family of 4. We didn't order too much side dishes for our hot pot as we had the big lobster sticky rice.

After a disappointing 45-minute wait and unfriendly front-of-house service at Sea Harbor, we wandered around looking for Christmas lunch options. Wife and parents were getting hangry! We originally targeted G-Men Ramen, but silly us - normally only Chinese restaurants are open on Christmas. We randomly chose Mui Kee which apparently had a reopening (they did not yet exist on Yelp). Its mostly a casual restaurant offering both Chinese and Malay noodle and rice plates. We actually had a decent meal here and service was really friendly, so 4 stars! Highlights: 1. Besides tea, they have some interesting drinks that are like a warm smoothie. The Red Bean Goji Drink came in a big beer mug and was pretty good - not too sweet yet probably healthy as Goji berries are known for healthy vision. 2. The chicken fried rice had decent wok breath but was a bit too sweet from the soy sauce - sort of like Hawaiian-style. 3. Beef Chow Fun was oily but had good wok breath and really tender slices of beef. 4. Crispy seafood noodles were one of the better dishes. Its common to add fish filets and shrimp with bok choy. We we pleasantly surprised to see baby octopus and cooked mussels too. I did not particularly care for the imitation crab meat though. 5. Service was friendly and attentive, and in the end they comped us a free egg waffle dessert - so crispy, soft, and sweet at the same time. 6. They have free wifi - its the 10-digit phone number listed on the menu. Lunch and drinks for four including tax was 44 CAD - not bad at all!

Was looking for some chow after my foot reflexology, came across Mui Kee, place looks good, at least the hotpot is not swimming with the typical "ma-lak" chili oil. Staff were patient & helpful in explaining since this was our 1st time here. Settled for the non-spicy half chicken hotpot that comes with sweet potato noodles (aka glass noodles) & veggies (red & green peppers, sui choy), have it in soup, the chicken is mixed in a nice sauce with the noodles & veggies, chicken needs to be cooked further in the hotpot or else the inside is still raw. A good portion for 2, taste was yummy. We added deep fried tofu with the dish. An enjoyable meal.

Fried Tofu - was the dish highlight, nice crisp with a warm soft interior, spiced to perfection! Wine drunken Chicken - was soft and juicy, however aside from the cooking wine taste, there wasn't anything more to add. I would skip a re-visit , as Richmond is pretty competitive, however it's not bad and worth a shot.

Usual table service was in place. Took our order and food came out at acceptable pace. When we were done, they politely boxed up the leftovers and we paid our bill. So service was on point. The food we ordered came out hot. The staples that I order to test was hargow, suimai and pai gwut(spareribs). All 3 dishes in general were good.....the hargow could have used an extra minute or 2 in the steamer. The suimai was very good. I tasted every ingredient in this dish. Usually it is just a complete mix and you can't discern the different flavors. They tried something different with the cheongfun by adding pieces of Chinese donut to the roll. I personally think it didn't add much to the dish, taste or texture wise. I did like the pea shoots with shrimp. I think it is a good combo. All in all a good dimsum. I also noticed they did not charge us a tea service. The cost of the food is comparable with other restaurants at this level. On a typical Sunday evening, the restaurant is usually fully occupied, but my friend had thoughtfully made a reservation a week in advance, so our table for five was ready upon arrival. As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, with good airflow thanks to the wide-open front entrance facing the parkade. The front desk receptionist greeted us cordially, and we were escorted to a cozy table in a comfortable location -- not too close to the washrooms, which I appreciated. Our meal began with the Kirin Special Assorted Cold Appetizer, followed by Crab Meat, Dried Scallops, and Fish Maw Soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was delicious, with a generous portion that could easily have served eight people. We also enjoyed Pea Tips Braised with Bean Curd and Assorted Mushrooms in Consommé, Marinated Free-Range Crispy Skin Chicken, Fillet of Cod Sautéed with Seasonal Vegetables, and Live Crab in Consommé with Ginger and Green Onion, served with E-fu Noodles. Overall, the quality and taste of every entrée were excellent. Service was top-notch -- tea and hot water were refilled constantly, bones and used plates were replaced promptly, and the servers were friendly and engaging throughout the evening. My friend and his family have apparently been regulars at this location for over two decades, which likely contributed to the exceptional attentiveness we received. However, one aspect of the experience genuinely disturbed me. All servers, including the captains, continued to wear masks at all times. While this practice was understandable two years ago, now -- five years after the onset of the pandemic, with COVID-19 managed similarly to other seasonal respiratory illnesses -- the continued universal masking in a fine-dining environment feels unnecessary and detracts from the overall guest experience. Fine dining, in my view as an avid foodie, is built on human connection, hospitality, and personal interaction. Masks create a more impersonal, almost clinical atmosphere. In a well-ventilated space like this, the environmental risk does not seem to justify the visual and social trade-off. Rather than providing reassurance, the persistent masking may unintentionally signal that the environment is unsafe or that management is out of step with current provincial health guidelines, where masking is now a personal choice rather than a mandate. Final verdict: Food & Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 -- as the current aesthetic feels more like a relic of 2020 than a leader in 2026 hospitality.

No round tables - only smaller square tables - which means it's better designed for small groups rather than large groups. We ended up trying a number of items: - Beef Belly Skewers: Very good. Everyone loved them. I wished we had ordered more. - Chicken Skewers: Ok. I think asked for something but they ran out and gave us gizzards and hearts, which are never good because they become mealy and not enjoyable to eat. - Dungeness Crab with Salty Egg Yolk: Good. Prepared as well as lots of restaurants. They provide disposable gloves to eat with, but nothing to crack the shells. - Stir Fried Vegetables: Good. No complaints. - Fresh Fish with Tofu Hot Pot: Very good. - Fresh Fish Steamed: Very good. - Lobster with Sticky Rice: Very good. Service is really very good. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. Sure it's fine no big deal, it was a lot of food.

The cold noodle fen pi was really good. Perfect amount of vinegar and savory. I wish there were more vegetables, so I'm not eating noodles 90% of the time.
