Finally stopped in after driving by Mudslingers everyday since they opened! Tons of options, some healthier (sugar free/carb free/dairy free), and some that are tasty treats- mudslingers, nutty buddy, etc. These are drinks that are loaded with sauces, syrups, and whipped cream- YUM. They have a kids menu, small food menu, energy drink menu, the typical classics, and smoothie menu. Lots of options for milks, sauces, and syrups (full sugar and sugar free) as well. There was no line at 10:30AM on a Tuesday and my drink was quickly ready. I got an XL almond milk latte with sugar free hazelnut. The XL is actually about the same size if not a little smaller than a Starbucks Venti- which was slightly disappointing. The hazelnut sugar free flavor was rough- going to have to pick a new one because this brand wasn't nearly as good as scooter's SF hazelnut. Lastly, the drink was $7.66 which I quite honestly had sticker shock over- I can get this exact drink at Starbucks for a dollar less and the portion is bigger. I absolutely love supporting local businesses, but nearly $8 for one latte felt really steep. I did read on their window that they had to increase prices recently. I'll have to come back and try their famous Mudslinger + their cold brew- cold brew is more my speed in pricing for someone that typically goes to Starbucks everyday.

Drink of the month! This is a white chocolate macadamia nut oatmilk latte.

Mudslingers is always affordable, pleasant, and quick. An excellent alternative to large coffee chains.

Summary: Coffee and smoothie drive-thru with a very limited food menu. This drive-thru coffee shop has the standard espresso, latte, americano, and cappuccino drinks as well as "dessert" coffees, such as the namesake Mudslinger. (That's a decadent chocolate, caramel, and whipped cream hot treat.) Seasonal drinks, like peppermint white mocha, are also available. Beyond coffee, there are custom made smoothies and blended energy drinks. I saw only one tea--a chai. If that's not enough variety to satisfy a caffeine need, Mudslingers says "just ask." I did. I'm far from a black coffee drinker and try to limit sugar intake. Surprised there was no simple macchiato I asked for one. Mudslingers delivered just the creamy drink I wanted, which could best be described as "caffeinated milk." The limited food menu consists of breakfast items like mini-donuts, ham or sausage and egg croissants, oatmeal, muffins, and bagels. There are two service windows here--one for drivers and another for walk-ups.

    Pup Cup

I got the Toffee Nut Brulée Breve iced and it was very tasty! I will also say they have the best Pup Cups that came with a treat! Easy to say my dog loved it.

I was out running in the middle of nowhere, preparing for an inevitable future in which it's…read morenecessary for me to retreat into the woods, when it was decided that we needed to get coffee. Someone from my group consulted their cell and determined that this was the closest place. I'd never heard of it. Apparently, it's a chain with multiple locations in some of our pastier exurbs. It makes you wonder what else there might be. PJ's claims to be a New Orleans coffee shop. What exactly is meant by that, I'm not sure. The coffee, at least in terms of the various preparations, seems to be the same coffee you'd get anywhere else. If you were to squint, I guess you could say that the decor on the inside is New Orleans themed. The exterior looks like the exterior of any chain establishment these days, including newer McDonald's, i.e. like a circa '09 Chipotle. Do the baristas flash you and allow you to throw beads at them? Sadly, no. I asked. Near the register there was an ad for a seasonal selection. I believe it was called a Peppermint Bark Velvet Ice, but I could be mistaken (indeed that doesn't sound like a very good name for a drink). It's not even Thanksgiving, and in fact, as I'm writing this, we're only one week removed from Halloween, but I'll allow it. I'm all PSLd out due to living near an Aldi. Anyway, this was perfect for me, because I could see what it looked like, and it spared me from having to investigate the menu further. As an inveterate brokie, I don't get coffee from fancy shops like this, but when I do, it needs to be something ridiculous, that someone might post on Instagram alongside a Labubu. I could get Folgers at home. They also carry beignets. Hence, presumably, the name. I got the smallest serving of the larger of the two sizes of beignets that they carry, which came with three of them. I'm not going to say what my total came to, out of embarrassment. I feel like a senior citizen who's just been sold a parcel of swamp land. Part of it is that I opted for a large drink. I was warned by the cashier that it comes in a very large cup. I told her that was no big deal, not realizing just how big it would be. This thing was an absolute unit, bigger than any reasonable person would need. They probably only keep it on the menu for idiots like me, who don't bother to check the actual size and price. It wasn't clear to me what was meant by velvet Ice, and it still isn't. I'd say it's along the lines of a frappe, with the caveat that I know very little about coffee drinks. The overall vibe was more chocolate than peppermint, but with bits of peppermint candy. It drinks more like an iced coffee than a milkshake, and you could slam one pretty quickly if you weren't paying attention, and you liked it that much. There's a generous whipped cream and chocolate syrup topping that doesn't melt down into the drink the way it would if the drink were hot. You end up eating it all at the end, as a sort of dessert to your dessert. Which brings us to the beignets. They're weirdly precise in their dimensions, like maybe they're heated up from frozen. They're served warm, and they're not given to you immediately, but it didn't occur to me to look and see how they were prepared. I'd describe these as being more like a dinner roll and less like a funnel cake, but not necessarily in a bad way. Ultimately, it's probably not possible to mess up a beignet. They're probably not nearly as good if you get them to go and end up eating them cold. Fortunately, I ate mine there. The seating area was nice, if maybe a little cramped, with a tiny sofa and a couple of comfy-looking chairs in addition to a row of tables. It was a veritable ghost town while we were there, so that ended up not being an issue. It was a Sunday, so people may have been at church, trying to get right with the Lord.

They had a sign on the cashwrap that they were training new barista's and to please be patient - and so that is fair. The sweet young gal taking our order was very soft spoken - so it was hard to understand if she was getting the order correct. We waited about 15 min for the two lattes we ordered to be made. That feels excessive even with training and there were only 2 iced coffees ahead of us. My drink was made then they had to tell my friend they ran out of the pecan flavor she wanted- so she had to get something else. While it was good- for a Saturday morning for the slow service and missing ingredients-I won't avoid this place, I likely will go somewhere else next time.

When I check out a new coffee place, I look for two things: Is the coffee "good" to my taste buds…read more(this one probably goes without saying) and can I comfortably sit and relax long enough to read or have a conversation? Upshot offers both, with a bonus of delicious food. We'd never explored historic Cottleville before, and I immediately appreciated the setting. The surrounding streets and buildings bare a slight resemblance to the charm of Vermont. On a recent nice, near-Spring day, my wife and I knew we had to take advantage of the outdoor seating. Serene with a mild breeze, we would have liked to sit and read for an hour or two, if time allowed. I almost always go for a red eye when I visit a coffee shop for the first time, but there are alot of appealing alternatives; I might have to try Maple Bourbon latte on a future visit. Being a major fan of breakfast food, I had to order the hearty Brake Shop burrito, packed with scrambled eggs, bacon, cripsy tater tots, and pico del gallo. It arrived quickly, hot, and even more filling and flavorful than I expected. Beyond that, Upshot offers an ample menu of other breakfast and lunch options; my wife ordered a Turkey Sando and custom-made iced vanilla latte with oatmilk. We don't get that many beautiful days in the midst of St. Louis winter; I'm glad I could spend one at Upshot's flagship cafe, and excited to see how their other locations compare.

I don't know what I was looking for when This donut shop appeared in my list, but I am so glad it…read moredid. I don't love close so we came a long way! It is a cute shop with friendly staff and they were knowledgeable about what they offered. I got a maple Bacon donut which was amazing! Truly the best Maple Bacon donut I have ever had. Also a raspberry pistachio which was also delicious. The donuts were the same except the toppings but they aren't heavy cake donuts. They were light and airy and broke apart easily kind of like a cinnamon roll. I had the top part with the toppings and dipped the bottom in their maple dip. The dip was delicious but the donuts were coated in a sugar... not a glaze but granulated sugar so if dip is not your thing you would still have a nice sweet donut throughout. I also got the Mango passion refresher which was so good. What amazed me though was my mother who isn't a fan of sweet things even liked the cinnamon donut she got. That says a lot to me because she is picky lol. Also the staff was friendly enough to give a mini donut to sample and that was extremely kind and I Chan say the minis are just as delicious as the full sized donuts. They do not skimp on quality here which is nice because they are a bit in the pricier side, but for the size of the donuts and the quality especially I didn't feel overcharged. Can't wait to try other flavors and even their savory donuts !
