I've stopped by this place almost every weekend to do some work. I normally get the matcha with lavender syrup but saw they had coconut cream cold brew so I tried that one. I couldn't really taste the coconut as much in this drink. Staff and service was nice and friendly. Drinks are made quickly. I'm also a fan of their avocado toast. There's plenty of seating and there's outdoor seats as well. The area is really nice.

Loaded potato quiche

The service was five stars! I could not taste any coconut in the cold brew... I had never had it before or come here before so I wasn't sure I just accidentally got a regular cold brew? So it was a miss for me. The loaded potato quiche was so much bigger than I thought lol I almost didn't get finish it. Maybe two bites left but I could not force myself because I was so full already. We'll have to go again because I need to try all the things before giving a solid review. This is just based off of today's visit and may not encompass their full menu/maybe it just wasn't my day! It's a cute little place with free parking in the back when you first turn in. Theres a front and back patio, seating on both sides of the counter and then even a side section with a sliding door if you want to get some work done or study. Tip: Sign up for rewards before you order! I signed up and first order already got $3 in rewards! Whoohoo!

Hands down the best latte I've ever had! Get the house made oat milk. Try the matcha latte too!

The best breakfast burrito in the city. I preferred it without the avocado and potatoes that come inside the burrito. The cinnamon roll, matcha and Carmel iced latte were amazing as well. Easily to say it's one of my favorite coffee shops. Service was good. I wish the seating was better.

How much love i have for the Upshot flagship!! The location is perfect, right in the heart of cottleville. They have my favorite espresso ever! They prioritize quality and consistency with every cup. Nothing has compared. Most of the syrups are made in house and it makes such a difference. The food is great and they have a good selection between sweet and savory. All of this said, what makes me love Upshot the most is the people. The staff is always warm and welcoming and makes every customer feel valued. Wether it's your first time in or you're a year long regular, they treat you with such inviting kindness.

Best place to WOH in the area! I come here all the time. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Their menu is packed with so many options, and they're all delicious. I got a matcha x golden turmeric latte today and it was AMAZING. There's outlets everywhere too. Love this place so much. No notes!

One of my favorite coffee shops. Cozy spot to meet up. You order at the counter and they bring your order to your table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Great staff!! Trust their recommendations. I wish they had a vegan sausage patty option for their breakfast sandwich. The cold brew is really good and they have house made syrups and they usually have a seasonal option. Street parking or $5 to park in the lot. Disabled accessible in the front, where there is a ramp. Steps in the back of the building.

Upshot is such a cute coffee shop nestled in downtown Cottleville. I really enjoy the food at Upshot, but don't always feel like the coffee is as good as other small coffee shops. Loved: the service is always great - the baristas are so nice and helpful The food is always great for a nice snack or breakfast. Whether it's a biscuit sandwich or bagel breakfast sandwich with aioli, they always have something that makes the food a little better than the average coffee shop Liked: my mocha was okay, and parking isn't the best in downtown Cottleville.

Whipped honey latte

This is such a fun cozy spot in Cottleville! The drinks and food are so delicious. I meant to get a picture of the homemade poptart, but we dove right in and ate it too fast. The Whipped Honey latte might be one of my new favorite drinks at any coffee shop.

Goat cheese & fig tart, Dracula pour over

Normally, I'm a coffee with cream & sugar kinda girl. But at upshot, I go for the pour over every time. This morning I went for the Dracula pour over, which is smooth and rich, with notes of caramel. Paired with the goat cheese & fig tart, it was delightful. The space is cozy and the staff is friendly.

Cute little shop on old Cottleville MO. Great service from knowledgeable staff. Food and coffee were a step above.

Best tasting coffee I have had in a long time! Absolutely knock it out of the park on their roasts. Stopped in today for the first time and was delighted with how busy the shop was- this is the type of coffee shop you come for a date or to meet up with a friend. Intimate and made for doing a little work or catching up. No drive thru. Their menu definitely seems designed for ordering in- I took my Americano to go and was a little disappointed with the size options- there's only one size and it's small. My Americano came in the size of a to go cup you get with hotel coffee. The prices weren't bad and they have a good selection of milk options. Their flavor options were very creative and seemed like they might be homemade- I loved the idea of them, but I do wish they offered sugar free options. They had a decent food menu and a lot of it was displayed in their glass cabinet. Some gluten free and some vegan. The last thing I will say is that on a Thursday late morning (around 10) it took about 15 minutes to get my Americano- so not great if you are in a rush, but this really is a great place to come and stay awhile.

Everything was delicious! My friend is a regular at Starbucks and she prefers Upshot's peppermint mocha over Starbucks. We will be back!

When you enter, it's very small but very well put together décor wise. Each area had signs that discouraged movement of their furniture and had its own kind of theme. I was meeting up with a friend and her daughter and unfortunately did not realize they had the typical café hours (closed at 2pm) so my visit was very quick (30 minutes) and I had to rush my conversation. I ordered an iced Monstera Mint latte and chocolate coffee cake slice. When the barista called up my order, I repeated my order asking if it's mine (they don't use a name system) and apparently *I* mispronounced MONSTERA because she turned her back and said within earshot to her coworker how I did not pronounce it correctly and why do people say it incorrectly. I am not a big plant person so excuse me for not knowing how every single plant name is pronounced. I know people vent at work, but it made me feel uncomfortable the rest of my visit, so I was glad it was almost time to leave before they closed. Vent after customers leave if you have to.... Anyways, my MONSTER-AH mint latte was good, but the chocolate coffee cake was a bit too dry for me. And service could have been a bit more professional in my opinion.

Someone from my group consulted their cell and determined that this was the closest place. I'd never heard of it. Apparently, it's a chain with multiple locations in some of our pastier exurbs. It makes you wonder what else there might be. PJ's claims to be a New Orleans coffee shop. What exactly is meant by that, I'm not sure. The coffee, at least in terms of the various preparations, seems to be the same coffee you'd get anywhere else. If you were to squint, I guess you could say that the decor on the inside is New Orleans themed. The exterior looks like the exterior of any chain establishment these days, including newer McDonald's, i.e. like a circa '09 Chipotle. Do the baristas flash you and allow you to throw beads at them? Sadly, no. I asked. Near the register there was an ad for a seasonal selection. I believe it was called a Peppermint Bark Velvet Ice, but I could be mistaken (indeed that doesn't sound like a very good name for a drink). It's not even Thanksgiving, and in fact, as I'm writing this, we're only one week removed from Halloween, but I'll allow it. I'm all PSLd out due to living near an Aldi. Anyway, this was perfect for me, because I could see what it looked like, and it spared me from having to investigate the menu further. As an inveterate brokie, I don't get coffee from fancy shops like this, but when I do, it needs to be something ridiculous, that someone might post on Instagram alongside a Labubu. I could get Folgers at home. They also carry beignets. Hence, presumably, the name. I got the smallest serving of the larger of the two sizes of beignets that they carry, which came with three of them. I'm not going to say what my total came to, out of embarrassment. I feel like a senior citizen who's just been sold a parcel of swamp land. Part of it is that I opted for a large drink. I was warned by the cashier that it comes in a very large cup. I told her that was no big deal, not realizing just how big it would be. This thing was an absolute unit, bigger than any reasonable person would need. They probably only keep it on the menu for idiots like me, who don't bother to check the actual size and price. It wasn't clear to me what was meant by velvet Ice, and it still isn't. I'd say it's along the lines of a frappe, with the caveat that I know very little about coffee drinks. The overall vibe was more chocolate than peppermint, but with bits of peppermint candy. It drinks more like an iced coffee than a milkshake, and you could slam one pretty quickly if you weren't paying attention, and you liked it that much. There's a generous whipped cream and chocolate syrup topping that doesn't melt down into the drink the way it would if the drink were hot. You end up eating it all at the end, as a sort of dessert to your dessert. Which brings us to the beignets. They're weirdly precise in their dimensions, like maybe they're heated up from frozen. They're served warm, and they're not given to you immediately, but it didn't occur to me to look and see how they were prepared. I'd describe these as being more like a dinner roll and less like a funnel cake, but not necessarily in a bad way. Ultimately, it's probably not possible to mess up a beignet. They're probably not nearly as good if you get them to go and end up eating them cold. Fortunately, I ate mine there. The seating area was nice, if maybe a little cramped, with a tiny sofa and a couple of comfy-looking chairs in addition to a row of tables. It was a veritable ghost town while we were there, so that ended up not being an issue. It was a Sunday, so people may have been at church, trying to get right with the Lord.

They had a sign on the cashwrap that they were training new barista's and to please be patient - and so that is fair. The sweet young gal taking our order was very soft spoken - so it was hard to understand if she was getting the order correct. We waited about 15 min for the two lattes we ordered to be made. That feels excessive even with training and there were only 2 iced coffees ahead of us. My drink was made then they had to tell my friend they ran out of the pecan flavor she wanted- so she had to get something else. While it was good- for a Saturday morning for the slow service and missing ingredients-I won't avoid this place, I likely will go somewhere else next time.
