We walked inside and saw there was a line of 2-3 people ahead of us. We saw a man to the side who injected himself since he was waiting on a drink and we saw that he was forgotten and no one had made his drink. He was nice about it but I could tell he was upset. There were two cashiers and when it was finally our turn based off our receipt Kenzie D took our order. We ordered peanut butter smoothie, an americano, a cinnamon scone and pumpkin bread. Any sort of customer service went out the window. There was no greeting, no eye contact, no acknowledgment of him finishing inputting an item down to get the next one. I say this because I asked for pumpkin bread and it was forgotten. I didn't even want it after seeing how long it took others to get their order. You would think that you would get your order right after the person in front of you orders but no, two people from groups that ordered after us received their order and we were left there standing waiting for 10-15 minutes. We thought that was the worst of it... We went outside to sit with the in-laws and friends and they were like "that took awhile..." and I told them there was only 3 people ahead of us and that's when they told us what happened to them. My mother in law ordered a drink and so did my father in law. My father in law received his drink and was waiting for a really long time for my mother in laws. So long that he spoke to one of the women passing out orders to check to see if it was done yet. She told him he would need to get in line and order it since they didn't receive it. There was a line and he already waited and didn't want to get back in line so he spoke to the manager and the manager said he heard the exchange and didn't say anything to make it right. So my father in law was like forget it and it just went outside to sit with the rest of the group. The manager came out and gave a disgusted look and gave my mother in law a drink. Then friends also confirmed that he was not nice at all when he came out and probably did it out of spite. I saw she had finished it and gasped because knowing the food industry he probably spit in that drink. Needless to say none of us will be going back to this place. There is no such thing as hospitality here or making things right. And I found out that the cashier that rang us out was the manager? Smh... As much as food or drinks can taste good, not having taste in your service can affect the experience so much so it can't rectify what's been done. Couldn't eat the scone after two bites and the peanut butter smoothie was melty with chunks of banana. I'll stick to supporting pj's and smoothie king.

When I check out a new coffee place, I look for two things: Is the coffee "good" to my taste buds…read more(this one probably goes without saying) and can I comfortably sit and relax long enough to read or have a conversation? Upshot offers both, with a bonus of delicious food. We'd never explored historic Cottleville before, and I immediately appreciated the setting. The surrounding streets and buildings bare a slight resemblance to the charm of Vermont. On a recent nice, near-Spring day, my wife and I knew we had to take advantage of the outdoor seating. Serene with a mild breeze, we would have liked to sit and read for an hour or two, if time allowed. I almost always go for a red eye when I visit a coffee shop for the first time, but there are alot of appealing alternatives; I might have to try Maple Bourbon latte on a future visit. Being a major fan of breakfast food, I had to order the hearty Brake Shop burrito, packed with scrambled eggs, bacon, cripsy tater tots, and pico del gallo. It arrived quickly, hot, and even more filling and flavorful than I expected. Beyond that, Upshot offers an ample menu of other breakfast and lunch options; my wife ordered a Turkey Sando and custom-made iced vanilla latte with oatmilk. We don't get that many beautiful days in the midst of St. Louis winter; I'm glad I could spend one at Upshot's flagship cafe, and excited to see how their other locations compare.

Plenty of parking Nice decent sized cafe eatery The server recommended these two items that are pictured! And they are both too their the croissant waffle is something I've never had before it is *Chefs Kiss* The breakfast burrito was soooooo good it was loaded with everything you can imagine! The ambience of this place is clean clear and gives me a coffee shop restaurant type vibe I will definitely be back and it'll be hard to try some different things as good as these two items were! 10/10 I recommend

Very cute place! I would definitely recommend this place to families. There isn't too much seating…read moreso it can get busy around lunch time- I went on a Friday around noon and there were a few available tables- but I can imagine that it gets busier on the weekends. There were also tons of board games! I got the strawberry fruit tea- it was wonderful. Not too sweet, had real strawberries in it with lemon slices, as well. Strong green tea flavor if you're a fan of that. Prices were great! Very affordable. I got the crab rangoons which were very good and crispy. The dumplings were alright. The pork and shrimp ones didn't really stick out to me. The beef ones were good! My favorite of the three I tried was the chicken with shiitake and bok choy. I got them pan fried, but I felt like the sides of the dumplings were a bit doughy and undercooked. Overall a very nice place for lunch and a treat! Will definitely return.

It's a pretty spacious restaurant with board games to play, a few random kitchen appliances for sale, and peacock chairs to chill in. The lady working here was really nice, and clarified a few things on the menu for me. She seemed busy with tickets, and pick up orders. The food took a while to come out, but it wasn't too bad of a wait. I wish our drink orders had come out all at the same time though. drinks: Red Bean Uji Matcha - ordered with less sugar, my MIL liked the flavor Pineapple Fruit Tea - ordered with all the sugar, my husband did not get a lot of pineapple flavor Jasmine Tea - ordered with less sugar, I liked the flavor and that the jasmine was strong Food: Cucumber Salad - it was drenched in the sauce, but it was still good. I wish it was smashed cucumber instead of sliced though Pan Fried Dumplings - it was missing a lot of crisp, but the filling was good. We got beef. Boiled Dumplings - Pork was the filling, the wrapper was good and chewy, but it nothing was stand out. Shrimp Shumai - Compared to most shumai, this was big and you could see chunks of the shrimp at the top! Chicken Teriyaki Udon - the noodle was great! I think this had the most flavor, and was the best option for the table. Considering the area, it's probably the best option y'all have, but I think having the udon will be the way to go!

I'm not sure what this place even is, despite having dined there yesterday. It serves breakfast,…read morelunch and dinner, and doesn't seem to specialize in anything in particular. It's in a weirdly large building that looks like a place where you'd go to get lasik surgery. I visited after a run on a day where the heat index was like 109, so I didn't spend that much time inside, just enough to drip sweat all over the front counter and the floor in the vestibule. We sat outside in an area that seems like the place where you'd pull up and unload your luggage at a hotel. A member of our group says she once attended some sort of Xmas pop-up in the basement here where you were charged a cover and then expected to pay for drinks and pizza, so... uh, caveat emptor. We ordered at the little bar up front, but I'm not sure if that's also the case if you dine inside. These places always flip out when there's umpteen different people ordering separately, because they only have but so many of those numbers you set on the table so they know where to bring your food. It ended up not being an issue with us, because who else was going to engage in al fresco dining during a heat advisory? This place serves pizza, but it didn't look that good in the few photos I saw. Granted, food often looks like crap in Yelp photos. Also, there's an emphasis on '90s-style health food, organic ingredients and what have you. There's a Salmon BLT that's featured prominently that seemed like it might be the thing to get, but I didn't know enough about this place to be ordering fish, and I'd already been meaning to eat a bacon cheeseburger for the past several days. Maybe next time. There is no bacon cheeseburger as a separate menu item unto itself. I figured I might just order a cheeseburger and add bacon, but I'm not sure if that's an option, and this wasn't a regular cheeseburger. It had a few different weird cheeses on it, spinach and maybe some other things. Then I saw the Dill-bert, which seemed like it might be really good. It has, among other things, dill Havarti cheese (whatever that is), avocado, and of course, bacon. It's served on a wheat bun, which, whatever. Its name is not a tribute to Scott Adams, as far as I know, but this is Ballwin. The Dill-bert did not disappoint. No Diddy. The beef comes from one of those special farms where the cows are all given names as if they were human beings, groomed on a daily basis by trafficking victims and read bedtime stories, and you really can taste the difference. It's a better quality meat. It's also expertly prepared. It's well-seasoned and cooked until it develops a nice char on the exterior. It was a bit more done on the inside than I require, but that may have been unavoidable. For a side, there was an option of tater tots cooked in an air fryer, like if your mom was feeling lazy. I didn't see any french fries, but maybe I'm going blind. I ordered a side salad, which is my thing these days. Sometimes they're surprisingly good, and a french fry is a french fry, unless you're at McDonald's. This one was pretty good, but it was definitely on the health-food side of things--very fresh and lightly but sufficiently dressed with something citrus-y and not too oily. Oh, and I was duped into purchasing a whiskey sour slushie. It just seemed like it would be so refreshing. It must have cost nearly as much as my meal, given what my bill came out to. They must think I'm a sucker. Did they receive advance notice of my visit? It did kinda hit the spot, and I probably got drunker than I would have otherwise, because I was suffering from a minor heatstroke, so there was that.
