Blueberry Lemon Scone and a Latte
    Melanie B.

I hadn't been to Kaldi's in years - not for any reason, I just hadn't been. I was meeting a friend for coffee and decided to go there. The place was packed at 10:00 on a Friday morning! Two gals were taking orders at the counter and both were friendly and polite. I ordered a latte and a scone. Both were served in/on nice, heavy dishes. We found a spot to sit and chat. There were constantly people coming and going. Staff members were walking around fairly often picking up dirty dishes and trash, wiping down tables, and emptying the trash. The menu is fairly large. They have breakfast and lunch food there. With all the activity, it wasn't loud or annoying. It was a nice place to spend some time. I'd definitely go back!

12 ounce black coffee with sugar-free vanilla added.

Very chill environment and the staff was very nice, especially since they were closing when I was pulling up. I will definitely come back just to work there because the space seems very conducive to a nice break away from your normal work environment. Also, there was a person sitting outside on their laptop, just sitting in the sun, which made me want to come back with mine just to chill out and enjoy the good weather and a great spot and enjoy the coffee. If you're in the area, this is definitely worth stopping by.

    My beautiful iced caramel latte

My husband and I came to this location for the first time when we visited St. Louis, and I loved the way my drink tasted. I ordered an iced caramel latte, and the drink was creamy, smooth, and delicious. I had to force myself to sip it because it was so good and I didn't want to drink it all in one gulp. Being from Chicago, I need a Kaldi location near me. Although Kaldi is a chain, they have delicious espresso that tastes much better than chains like Starbucks. Our service and the atmosphere were great here, as well. The barista was friendly and personable, and I thought even more highly of her when she complimented my tattoo. The dining room was full, so I knew that this must be a popular place to go amongst locals. The decor is cute and comfortable, as the inside seating area includes a fireplace and a modern vibe. Tables and racks of merch lined the side of the queue, too. This location also has a large outdoor seating area with many garden tables and chairs. Although we had many pros to our experience, it did take a pretty long time for me to receive my drink. Admittedly, it was crowded when we came, but it took almost 10 minutes. Overall, this place is great and I hope to visit St. Louis to have it again! OR they can open up a location in the suburbs of Chicago ;) I also appreciate their sustainability mission and commitment. Seriously, I like this company!

Iced matcha latte with almond milk. Look at that color!

Yelp is not showing the Kaldis on clarkson in ellisville so I'll leave this here. Drive through. The barista was helpful at the ordering window. The area is clean and well manicured. We've been on the hunt for the best Matcha Latte just in the west co area. We've gone to many locations but I think we've found the one we love. Perfect color, earthiness and no grit. We ordered a small which is actually a grande, iced matcha with almond milk. The only down side is it was 9$ and 10$ with tip.

Got here at 6:31a when they open at 6:30a, and they were ready to go! Friendly greeting, quick service. I ordered a latte that was strong and good. My partner ordered the avo toast, which he really enjoyed...especially the spicy sauce. He also got a plain Kaldi coffee that he liked...and, he's picky about coffee. There are a variety of baked goods to choose from too, if that's your thing. Nice, modern coffee house vibe. We'll visit again when in Chesterfield.

Nice local coffee shop - this location was in Chesterfield. Friendly staff, plenty of indoor & outdoor seating plus good coffee and perfect after getting up early for a flight! Grabbed a quick scone which was delicious as well! Thanks Kaldi's!

The ambiance is very nice and cozy with a lovely fireplace. The coffee- rosemary vanilla latte was like warm and bitter. My sandwich- was cold and hard... it was supposed to a hot sandwich. The flavors were good though. I was a bit confused because the bread was sliced, but they served it with the egg on top of the two slices, not in between. I ended up placing the egg between the bread slices.

I typically brew my own coffee at home but the seasonal coffee at Kaldi's is a must have! I love the Brown Sugar Rosemary Latte, it is sooo delicious. I don't like rosemary normally but in this drink it is perfect. Lots of people hanging out, a few people waiting for drinks, I placed my order and it was ready quickly. This was the best one I had yet. Already looking forward to my next one!

Relaxing and calm vibe. This seems to be a diverse and inclusive space, welcoming all. The staff is outstanding here. Kaldi offers my favorite local coffee but this location is not my usual spot. There is plenty of space to work, meet with friends or a group. There is a variety of seating and outdoor tables, too. Easy access for anyone with mobility challenged but you might need help with the front door. Great selection of breakfast items including many vegetarian and a few vegan options. Definitely worth a visit.

I have been to Kaldi's about 3-4 times for coffee and an English muffin with an egg. I was never impressed. I have not been back in about a year. I decided to go for an iced coffee and lunch. I ordered a chicken BLT with sun-dried tomato aioli on Ciabatta. Well, as you can see from the photos, I had eaten half of the sandwich before I realized I need to write this review. The sandwich was so delicious, all the flavors from the chicken, bacon and aioli seem to go together into a delicious heavenly mouthful. So, I feel as though Kaldis has redeemed themselves, as far as I am concerned. Keep that sandwich on the menu--I will be back. The iced coffee was a great accompaniment. The service was great. I asked if there was anything to go on the sandwich, and I was brought extra aioli. I also love the design and seating available. It looks and feels like home.

    Sausage & Egg Sandwich

I really love Khaldi's and have spent so much time at this location and now the one in Clayton closer to where I live. I think this time might have been a fluke, but I was sorely disappointed with the meal. I got a breakfast sandwich with egg and sausage on a brioche bun. The eggs were over cooked and looked burnt and the sausage was definitely burnt. I also, wasn't a big fan of the Brioche bun. The thing is, is that it was popping during the time I went, but no one really in line ordering food, so I don't think it was a matter of being rushed. I just feel it's not worth paying 10$ for a mediocre breakfast sandwich that's burnt. I will however say that I am never disappointed with the pastries. I got a scone and it was delicious. However, the food is hit or miss. I'll be back, but I do wish they would take more care with sending out quality food.

I also got a cherry danish that was soo good. And if you tried love to try a flavored Matcha or some of their coffee. After I ordered the drink and pastry came out super quick, which was really exciting. Sometimes small cafés take a while to make drinks, especially Matcha. I will say the barista was nice, but not super friendly or talkative. I might've asked some more questions about the Matcha options, but it didn't seem like she wanted to have a conversation. I get not everybody is super chatty and she was a good barista, but I think being a little bit more outgoing makes a barista great. Overall 10/10 will be coming back if I'm in the area.

I was out running in the middle of nowhere, preparing for an inevitable future in which it's…read morenecessary for me to retreat into the woods, when it was decided that we needed to get coffee. Someone from my group consulted their cell and determined that this was the closest place. I'd never heard of it. Apparently, it's a chain with multiple locations in some of our pastier exurbs. It makes you wonder what else there might be. PJ's claims to be a New Orleans coffee shop. What exactly is meant by that, I'm not sure. The coffee, at least in terms of the various preparations, seems to be the same coffee you'd get anywhere else. If you were to squint, I guess you could say that the decor on the inside is New Orleans themed. The exterior looks like the exterior of any chain establishment these days, including newer McDonald's, i.e. like a circa '09 Chipotle. Do the baristas flash you and allow you to throw beads at them? Sadly, no. I asked. Near the register there was an ad for a seasonal selection. I believe it was called a Peppermint Bark Velvet Ice, but I could be mistaken (indeed that doesn't sound like a very good name for a drink). It's not even Thanksgiving, and in fact, as I'm writing this, we're only one week removed from Halloween, but I'll allow it. I'm all PSLd out due to living near an Aldi. Anyway, this was perfect for me, because I could see what it looked like, and it spared me from having to investigate the menu further. As an inveterate brokie, I don't get coffee from fancy shops like this, but when I do, it needs to be something ridiculous, that someone might post on Instagram alongside a Labubu. I could get Folgers at home. They also carry beignets. Hence, presumably, the name. I got the smallest serving of the larger of the two sizes of beignets that they carry, which came with three of them. I'm not going to say what my total came to, out of embarrassment. I feel like a senior citizen who's just been sold a parcel of swamp land. Part of it is that I opted for a large drink. I was warned by the cashier that it comes in a very large cup. I told her that was no big deal, not realizing just how big it would be. This thing was an absolute unit, bigger than any reasonable person would need. They probably only keep it on the menu for idiots like me, who don't bother to check the actual size and price. It wasn't clear to me what was meant by velvet Ice, and it still isn't. I'd say it's along the lines of a frappe, with the caveat that I know very little about coffee drinks. The overall vibe was more chocolate than peppermint, but with bits of peppermint candy. It drinks more like an iced coffee than a milkshake, and you could slam one pretty quickly if you weren't paying attention, and you liked it that much. There's a generous whipped cream and chocolate syrup topping that doesn't melt down into the drink the way it would if the drink were hot. You end up eating it all at the end, as a sort of dessert to your dessert. Which brings us to the beignets. They're weirdly precise in their dimensions, like maybe they're heated up from frozen. They're served warm, and they're not given to you immediately, but it didn't occur to me to look and see how they were prepared. I'd describe these as being more like a dinner roll and less like a funnel cake, but not necessarily in a bad way. Ultimately, it's probably not possible to mess up a beignet. They're probably not nearly as good if you get them to go and end up eating them cold. Fortunately, I ate mine there. The seating area was nice, if maybe a little cramped, with a tiny sofa and a couple of comfy-looking chairs in addition to a row of tables. It was a veritable ghost town while we were there, so that ended up not being an issue. It was a Sunday, so people may have been at church, trying to get right with the Lord.

They had a sign on the cashwrap that they were training new barista's and to please be patient - and so that is fair. The sweet young gal taking our order was very soft spoken - so it was hard to understand if she was getting the order correct. We waited about 15 min for the two lattes we ordered to be made. That feels excessive even with training and there were only 2 iced coffees ahead of us. My drink was made then they had to tell my friend they ran out of the pecan flavor she wanted- so she had to get something else. While it was good- for a Saturday morning for the slow service and missing ingredients-I won't avoid this place, I likely will go somewhere else next time.

I know Kaldi's has labor issues and might be paying their employees in coupons they can exchange for day-old baked goods, but that's neither here nor there for me, because I don't work there. And I know they once had a reputation for charging entirely too much for coffee and what have you, as if they were Whole Paycheck, but that's been rendered at least somewhat moot by the fact that everyone does that now. (I'd mention whom we have to blame for that, but I don't think it's necessary.) What a lovely location this place is in. If you time your Sunday morning run just right, you can arrive right as people are assembled, with their luggage, at the little train station next to the parking lot. Hopefully, they're not about to hop a train somewhere for tragic reasons. I used to travel by bus on occasion, and I've heard some stories. The inside is lovely. If they're overcharging, they at least spent some of it on the decor. The lights are dimmed, like at a fine-dining establishment. If you can convince a girl on Hinge to meet you somewhere for coffee, and you don't want her to see what exactly you look like, this place would be perfect. Also, if she's willing to meet IRL, and possibly give it up, in exchange for a $9 latte, chances are you're not gonna want to see what exactly *she* looks like. I've had the breakfast burrito from most local coffee places and only really cared for the one from Upshot, which might be the best thing I ever had in a restaurant. I figured Kaldi's offering wouldn't be anything to write home about but I'd try it anyway, for the sake of citizen food journalism. If this place has the unmitigated gall to charge a Section 8 rent payment for something you can get in the freezer at QT (with a free coffee, if you use the app), people need to know. Turns out that wasn't really the case. Their breakfast burrito isn't anything you just have to have, but it isn't half bad either. The ingredients are a cut above something you might get at a fast food restaurant, and I appreciate the way that the eggs, bacon, potatoes and what have you all seemed to be cooked together rather than layered on separately like in some elaborate bean dip. The bacon is greasier than you'd expect, in a good way, some of which carries over to the eggs and potatoes. A side of sour cream or salsa, or a bottle of Cholula on the table, would have really set it off. I guess coffee is what they're known for. I've had their regular coffee once or twice and recall liking it, but I've heard some people complain that it tastes burnt. But I know some people say the same thing about the coffee at Starbucks, and I might be the only person who likes that. (And yet they somehow manage to stay in business.) Kaldi's iced vanilla latte is surprisingly complex, for what it is. It's not overly sweet, and it's much more coffee-forward than the version I had a week before at Kentzo. Sometimes these things taste more like milk than anything else, which is fine with me, because I love milk, but this is probably how they're supposed to taste. If it's true what they say, that the labor here is not completely voluntary in nature, then at least they're running a tight ship. The consequences for subpar performance must be positively brutal.
