I recently came to the beginner class, I was hoping for something calming and relaxing...but instead I felt very stressed and pressed for time. The instructor was more concerned with the returning members than the new students. Only focusing on their pace and experience. I noticed the other people at our table felt the same way and we were teaching each other at a point. We had to ask her for help many times while she was talking to her friends and answering " what up". As we were doing the class they were more concerned with the birthday party after us. I felt like we weren't as important. As an individual that has never taken a class, I felt like I wasn't being supported, and telling the other classmates we are just learning, since everyone was feeling overwhelmed. These are my recommendations as a business owner: -Have physical, hand-held, step-by-step instructions containing the directions and provide pictures. -If someone is having difficulty the instructor will come over and show the technique on the student's piece of art. - A day before send a text saying what we need to wear, bring, and time limit. For example, cutting fingernails, being an apron and be aware of space and time. Thank you I hope this reaches the correct person. I bought this for a Christmas present and I felt like I didn't get my monies worth. read more

I went recently to sculpt a small piece as a date nite. When we 1st arrive they told us where to sit but slwe didn't have a chair so we grabbed one. The girl immediately said don't move chairs! Where we didn't even have one so we were looking for one. That same girl ended up being our instructor. Her tone was so non welcoming even through the class. But nevertheless the class and building with your hands were fun. I will be doing pottery again I enjoyed it just maybe at a different location. read more

I had the best experience at this studio with taking my first pottery class! And I had a super instructor to guide me throughout the process! Thank you, Bryan! You are such a talented teacher! I really appreciated your patience, time and attention! I will be back read more

This class was simply amazing! Chase (the owner) was very patient and really broke down each step so it is very easy to follow for a beginner course. He was very willing to come around and help us. The vibe was on point, and the service was impeccable. He even makes you feel good when your art doesn't come out exactly how you want, because that's the beauty of art, it can be abstract! I would highly recommend, and I will definitely be back for more classes in the future! read more

My kiddo just finished summer camp and I'm so proud of his progression through the week. We got off to a rocky start but when I reached out to the staff their willingness to work with him through struggles was reassuring and the confidence he walked away with at the end was epic. My kid is not into sports or competition of any kind and so we struggle to find opportunities to challenge him with new experiences where practice, technique and skill take time but he is invested and willing to hone the skills. This camp was perfect for that and I appreciate Chase making such an impact. We'll be back to finish off our merit badge! read more

I was nervous about going here because I couldn't find any reviews. But I'm so glad I did. I went here to have a last minute bridal celebration. There were five of us in total. He showed us all how to use the pottery wheel then we each got to make 3 things on our own. It was a lot of fun. Chase was a great teacher. He was very patient. (I'm a new mom so I'm very sleep deprived) It was a great experience. I would definitely recommend it. read more

Everything, class was great. Five of our family member enjoyed our birthday together. Brian did a great job, he made it very fun.

I decided to surprise my husband with a pottery class for his birthday. We're all about trying new things and this was something neither us had ever done. It such such a fun experience and we now have such more appreciation for pottery. Looks easy, but it's not when you're starting. There are techniques people master to make it look easy. Chase was out instructor, he was patient and explained things clearly. Definitely worth taking one of the beginning classes if you haven't done pottery before! I've told several people about the studio and they are excited about visiting one day. You will get dirty so make sure you bring clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty. You may also want to cut your nails as longer nails make it a little challenging. At the end of the class we left our masterpieces for them to bake. They were ready for pickup about 3 weeks after - timing will vary depending on demand. Mud Hut Pottery has a good thing going on in Riverside, wishing you much success! read more
