I have now had the the chance to work with Carol a second time for my wedding dress. I found the perfect dress in a store, but wanted to add sleeves. Carol was up for the challenge and was very dedicated to the process. I truly appreciate all the time and effort she put in to the actual alterations as well as how kind and caring she was with each fitting we did. I have nothing but GOOD THINGS to say about Carol. I found her information on Facebook when I was asking for recommendations for wedding gown alterations. And then I waited. And waited. I was such a last-minute bride! I went in to see Carol less than two weeks before my wedding on 5/5. I initially thought I just needed the hem taken up and a bustle. Nope. I clearly hadn't stuck to my wedding diet too strictly and, on top of that, I found out I was pregnant. So, in addition to what I thought I needed, I also somehow needed to add some extra coverage so the dress would actually zip (or close somehow!). Carol was AMAZING and replaced the top back of my dress with a lovely corset. She promised it would fit me no matter what shape I turned, haha - and it did! She was constantly in contact with me throughout the process and I completely trusted her with my gown. The end product was absolutely beautiful, I wish I had more pictures. The train, about 3 feet long, was able to be bustled perfectly and the corset was so pretty. I even had a belt I was going to tie around the waist for detail and Carol sewed it in! The buttons on the back of my gown were a favorite of mine, so she even added those around the waist with the belt. I would recommend her to anyone in need of formal alterations. This has taken me awhile to write but Carol is AMAZING! She altered my wedding dress for me. I had problems with the dress shop where I bought my dress & their punctuality. Instead of receiving my dress in early February for my end of March wedding I didn't get my dress until around mid March. Imagine my panic when my dress didn't fit how I wanted it to fit with only two weeks before my wedding?! I started searching for seamstresses immediately & came across Carol's page on yelp. I sent her a message explaining my situation with not much hope of anyone wanting to take on the task of fixing my dress with only two weeks before my wedding. To my surprise & delight she got back to me almost immediately & was willing to fix my dress for me. I took my dress to her two days later. She was so nice & reassuring that she'd have my dress ready for me. I came in a week later to try on my dress & make sure it was going to fit right & the week after that she had my dress ready for me fitting perfectly & she also steamed it for me as well. Thank you once again for everything! I got so many compliments about my dress & the fit of it had a lot to do with it. It made me feel so much better & confident the day of my wedding because my dress actually fit me how it was supposed to! I would definitely recommend Carol to anyone as I said, she's AMAZING! Carol is not only amazing at her craft, but INSANELY AFFORDABLE! I know that she offers a sewing studio and a supply boutique as well as sewing classes or studio time to sew at an hourly rate, and wedding and formal wear alterations which is what I used her for! I brought two wedding dresses to her as well as a couple flower girl dresses and she altered them perfectly! My figure is very curvy so I had to order a much larger size to For my hips but it had to be taken in tons to fit my upper half. She did it perfectly and much more affordable than having it done at the bridal shop I got my dress from! So to all brides or anyone with a formal dress to alter, DONT HAVE THE SHOP ALTER IT! I recently decided that I wanted to make my own wedding dress for my wedding in March. I do have some sewing experience, but soon found myself waist deep in muslin and utterly confused. I reached the lowest of the low trying to put the skirt together and found Carol when I lunged for help on the internet. She is amazing!! She is a genuinely talented seamstress and alterations guru and not only that, she is a wonderful and patient instructor! As if that wasn't enough, she's also honest and affordable. I took a series of small group classes from her - $70 for eight hours of sewing instruction- and my dress is almost done and looks PROFESSIONAL (at least to my lovestruck eyes). It is very intricate in design and would require a true master tailor. Carol did an amazing job! Be wary of this woman! I decided to take some basic classes to restart where I left off, waste of money and time. First I want to say owner , Carole is very rude. I am a grown up , educated women in my forty's paying for a service and don't expect someone to have an attitude every time I ask a question related to what she's supposed to be teaching ., very snobbish -not just to me but to some of the other younger girls. I was just at post office with my family ( husband and two girls ) when Carole stormed toward me and my family - saying I owed her 8 dollars but maybe she needed it toward her daughters wedding - lol ! Wow, the nerve of her , if my girls had not been there I would have had a few choice words . First of all my life doesn't stop with your horrible class - so excuse me if people change emails & move . I don't owe any explanations to you . Try something simple Carole ; be nice to people !! You may know your craft very well but when it comes to teaching you appear and sound like you don't want to be there. To make a long story short I took classes elsewhere ( pay little more but totally worth it ) and have done things on my own and w/ friends at our monthly get togethers, thus I have been successful. read more

It was the best time and resource spent and I walked out of her sewing room with an infinity scarf that I'm proud of. Carol is a great teacher! I was a little nervous about starting a sewing class because I knew absolutely nothing about it. My daughter received a sewing machine from her grandmother and with no one knowing had to use it I took on the challenge. I did a 5 week class and learned so much! I used to live in Corona area and took up sewing classes several months ago just as a hobby, for fun. I have to say she is knowledgeable and skilled in sewing however much to my disappointment, this was a bad experience overall. First, I'd like to say I'm not much of a perfectionist and Ms. Carol actually compared her stitching to mine - I have to laugh, obviously, how can she when she's had more experience than I have, I only had two weeks . Needless to say she is very critical , and atmosphere in beginner class is too quiet not many students would ask questions , and she just walks around pacing or looking at her phone . I feel bad for some of the much younger students - the way she talked to them . For whatever reason, she always seems cranky , unfriendly and sarcastic. Thanks but no thanks, I would rather teach myself thru YouTube than sit thru another one of her classes. There is a difference between knowing how to teach and being skilled. I took 3 classes with her and was done with her at that point. My sister Safa and I(Merwa) took classes every saturday in Carols Sewing Room and it was the best thing ever! She is very nice, great sewer, and easy to approach.
