She's so knowledgeable and patient. She examined my machine and really took the time to diagnose what could be going wrong with it. It turns out there was an obscene accumulation of lint in a spot behind the feed dog which I had overlooked. She taught me how to properly clean, test and maintain the machine. She also told me about which needles to best use depending on the material I'm sewing as well as helpful suggestions like the use of a walking foot for slippery fabrics. Helle is an experienced sewist who has extensive knowledge and represents Moore's with such polish. We lost Joann's fabrics not too long ago so it's crucial that our community has a business which supports the sewing community in the way Moore's does. Do sign up for sewing classes or bring your machine in for maintenance at Moore's. They are a valuable resource for adults and children. I and my son learned to sew because of them and it has freed us in ways I cannot enumerate. Be sure to ask for Helle if you have any specific sewing questions. I'm certain all the staff is marvelous but she is really awesome!

The owner, Ernesto, took us in the back and went through all the different font styles for us. After picking one, he printed it out and let me place it on the apron exactly where I wanted it. After that, he turned on the machine and stitched away! He even let us watch the process in the back of the store. The best part is, it was only $12! Came in for the first time asking if they could stretch a hat slightly for me. I let him know I would truly appreciate anything at all, even the smallest stretch. He was able to do just enough to make the hat fit perfectly for my dad, who hasn't been able to wear it for about five years. That small adjustment meant a lot, and I'm so grateful he took the time to help. My only recommendation would be to allow customers the option to take the risk on adjustments they're willing to try before turning them away. I completely understand the hesitation from the first employee, but sometimes it's not just about what you say, it's how you say it. I did notice a girl come in after us to get her hat shaped with a different person and he seemed very friendly and chatty with her. But idk maybe he knew her already so that's why he was nice. Point is, I didn't buy my husband a hat here. I wasn't going to give them my hard earned money for that type of service. I'd rather fly back to Texas for a better experience than come back here again. Horrible customer service. Also, we checked their hours online and it said they closed at 8pm. We got there at 4pm. But I think they were rushing us because they were going to close. How's that my problem? Lol Anyways I won't recommend this place. Take your money elsewhere.
