We LOVE mud hut pottery studio! We've done 1 class so far and we've gone in just paint pieces twice now!! Each time we've had a wonderful experience!! The staff is always so professional and helpful and patient! Today I had gotten a gift certificate and hadn't realized until I was done painting my 2 pieces that it was supposed to only be for a class ‍. But Chase stepped in and took care of me! Leaving an honest review since all the positive reviews made my expectations higher than they should have been. I took a pottery spinning class here with my partner. The instructor forgot to give me a clay piece at first.. and I had to remind him, no biggie. We also were not told we were going to make two pots in one session. So the second one was quite rushed. But I actually liked how my second one turned out better. When I picked up my pot, someone told me one my second pot didn't make it from a possible staff member breaking it while glazing? They mentioned it in their policy that this could happen, which is fair I guess. Both my partner's pots survived, but it had a pen mark on it on the glaze and the name was misspelled on the bottom. I know you pay for the experience, however the experience itself was underwhelming as well.. I honestly didn't feel like the pots were handled with care with the pen mark defect, misspelling of name, and my pot being broken. Gotta remember they don't give refunds for the "unpredictable nature." They did give me a gift certificate for my broken pot. But I won't be using it since the location is far where I live and I will be relocating soon. read more

I have never done ceramics/pottery before, but I loved it after today. I booked the 2 hour couples session and we were able to make 2 items. Bryan was incredible at explaining exactly what to do on the wheel and how to do it. He then lets you practice the skill on your own and steps in if needed, in an uplifting, reassuring way. I felt like he was very kind and even helped me put a drainage hole to turn my item into a pot for my plants. It was a big studio space and I felt very comfortable. I had such a wonderful time at the beginner pottery wheel class with Bryan. Who was such a great instructor! He was patient, clear in all of his explanations and made our entire group feel comfortable as beginners. I do wish aprons were provided though, to better protect your clothing. But the space is well kept and organized. It very much so gave calmness and light! The 90 minute class ended with my two pieces being left for drying and glazing by the staff. The class was a nice, small size (8 of us), and ranged in experience levels from total newbie to beginner/intermediate. Chase was a fantastic teacher! He went step by step and explained how common mistakes happened, which was helpful as I had never done pottery before. He certainly was experienced and had plenty of knowledge to simplify it enough for first-timers to understand what to do. His personality was kind, patient, and funny, which added to the experience! The studio was large, and with two separate group classes, it still felt spacious, and I could easily hear directions. Me and my girlfriend ended up being late 15 min late to the date night pottery due to an accident on the way. Once we arrived the instructor didn't seem to keen. While the session was continuing we got this unwanted feeling and can tell he did not want to help us. Almost felt alienated from the rest of the group. He would come to the rescue when it came to others needing help but not us. Usually these type of experiences are encouraging and uplifting but it was highly discouraging. I recently came to the beginner class, I was hoping for something calming and relaxing...but instead I felt very stressed and pressed for time. The instructor was more concerned with the returning members than the new students. Only focusing on their pace and experience. I noticed the other people at our table felt the same way and we were teaching each other at a point. We had to ask her for help many times while she was talking to her friends and answering " what up". As we were doing the class they were more concerned with the birthday party after us. I felt like we weren't as important. As an individual that has never taken a class, I felt like I wasn't being supported, and telling the other classmates we are just learning, since everyone was feeling overwhelmed. These are my recommendations as a business owner: -Have physical, hand-held, step-by-step instructions containing the directions and provide pictures. -If someone is having difficulty the instructor will come over and show the technique on the student's piece of art. - A day before send a text saying what we need to wear, bring, and time limit. For example, cutting fingernails, being an apron and be aware of space and time. Thank you I hope this reaches the correct person.
