A perfect activity for kids and also for adults in Tehachapi! We had such a fun time taking our children here and letting them pick out what they wanted to paint, and they got to use a variety of materials and be creative, and had a really fun time making their own special painted ceramic creation. We're excited to pick up our pieces once they are all fired up and shiny in a week or so. I love that this studio doesn't charge an expensive additional studio fee like other places, it just charges per piece painted. And I love that several of the pieces were affordable. For example, there was a whole bunch of choices for less than $10. I really appreciated that, especially in this day of inflation and limited expendable income! The owner is friendly and we enjoyed conversing with her, she's also very good with children. She let me know that they also have hosted baby showers and birthdays and girls nights, which is good to keep in mind for the future. I could see adults just coming here to paint therapeutically and chat. It had a very calm atmosphere. We are looking forward to coming back here again, there's not a lot of resources or activities for kids in Tehachapi, so I hope more people find out about this hidden gem! Oh and check their Facebook for their hours or call beforehand, they are usually open 2-3 days a week.

Plus there is not enough places to sit while your kids enjoy themselves. The tables that are empty have reserved signs all over them when I'm not sure what they are reserved for as I didn't see anyone actually sit at one. Also the tables are filthy! I finally got tired of walking around looking for a seat and just sat down and about 5 minutes later I was asked if I was a part of a party and that if not I would need to move. I asked where I was supposed to sit and she told me it was first come first serve...ok then we're NOT off to a great first impression at all! So it's $22 for an all day jump. Meaning you get wristbands and can jump all day but you cannot leave and come back. Plus there is a $4 fee for socks that you HAVE to have to participate. There does seem to be lots of activities for the kids to get into. Also the wristbands are supposed to prevent anyone from being able to just walk out with your kids but I didn't scan anything and just walked right on out the door. Went into the women's restroom and was pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was but then I noticed there was no toilet paper or paper towels. There were however seat covers, but when I went to wash my hands the full soap dispenser would not dispense any soap. There doesn't seem to be a kitchen there but it says one is coming soon. You can order pizza, chicken or wedges that are delivered from a Round Table Pizza close by and it was actually pretty good. Overall this place is cool. There are a lot of kids just ripping and roaring all over so it's kind of a day care for tired parents, IF you can find a place to sit.

Unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be a great experience. * No blank pottery to paint - Everything available already had printed designs on it. We were hoping to paint our own plates, cups, or bowls, but there were no plain pieces available. * Very limited selection - The inventory felt small. We were told a party of 20 was coming in, and it seemed like the blank items might have been saved for them. * Unhelpful service - When we asked about options, the staff didn't seem very helpful or friendly. * Pricing - There's a $10 studio fee per painter, and many of the stamped platters were around $42 more, which felt expensive for items that were already pre-designed. Since there was nothing blank to paint, we ended up leaving without doing the activity. We were hoping to try something different from Color Me Mine, but unfortunately this visit didn't work out for us. We're going to Color Me Mine.
