Everyone local was ready to order one, not to be too much of a wiseguy, but damn, I could order one. But fact of the matter is, we needed that car badder than a hog needs slop. To say nothing of the fact that the money was burning a hole in our pocket. Was over in the L A area on some other business and asked google where to find this r/c car. This store popped up just as we were going by the exit on I5. So we came down to Railroad, very easy place to find. Jimmy greeted us when we came in and he showed the car to us. He explained the time limits and the performance limits for the various types of batteries, I believe he said there were three kinds. The battery we got was mid-level, and we got a spare to be sure to have uninterrupted racing. He also hooked us up with a charger for the batteries. Both batteries and charger came with a nice selection of small electrical plug adapters so they will work on most cars. Asking about some upgrades for suspension, Jimmy told us about the parts, did not try to upsell at all. Two tracks are out back behind the store, we were more/less on a business trip, did not get to try them out. This store is full of everything needed for the R/C hobbyist (cars and trucks). The price for the car and gear was cheaper than Bakersfield. And we bought the car home today have already charged batteries and driven. Thank You Hot Rod Hobbies.

Hobby shop itself is packed pretty well if you're on the Traxxas train or have a vehicle by one of the big racing brands. Don't show up with something not in those categories and expect to get help though. Randy, the owner is a really nice guy and is very helpful. If it wasn't for the older guys that seem to live there it would be a more inviting place for new drivers.
