Flan

Muchacho is our favorite place. Best margs, food, service, and environment. We went on a Friday night to celebrate my birthday and it was packed! You definitely need a reservation for busy days/times and you'll have no problem. We ordered our drinks and I'm not kidding they were at our table 3 minutes later. Steak and shrimp fajitas are 10/10. Our server was great and attentive! To top it all off they gave me a signed birthday card from the staff and flan. I would always recommend Muchachos!!!

Combination

Wife and myself came here on a Sunday to meet up with my son and his gf. Got the table no problem to try out their lunch. The 2 things I have to say is their location is perfect in the middle of southlake. But hard to find parking on street, but garage is only a block away. And their service by our waitress was one of the best in some time. As far as food goes, the prices is a tad higher than average Mexican restaurant we've had, so I automatically had a higher expectation. There's really nothing bad on any of the food, other than the portion and lack of anything distinctive to say I can't wait to come back again. We've all ordered something different, but I got the combination to try out different things. The beans weren't bad, but the rice was dried and bland. Other enchiladas and others were just ok. Again, the service by out waitress is very professional, and the manager also walked around to greet each table, which was a nice touch. But even with the great location (used to be snuffer) and service, 3 stars is about the max I can described this experience.

Saturday night vibe

We had a wonderful time at Muchacho Southlake, a cozy spot inside the Town Square area. Highly suggest getting reservations; they have a limit of 6 but will make exceptions, as they did for us. A lively crowd--this wasn't a quiet spot, more a night-on-the-town vibe, plenty of folks having a good meal and time. The food was fabulous, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service by Ryan was attentive & surprisingly quick. I had the Cornmeal Redfish tacos with the pickled slaw on homemade tortillas, all very good. Others had pork shank, fajitas, chili relleno with rice and beans, and they all loved it. The standouts were the Mexican rice and Old Fashioned; both were as good as I've had anywhere. The rice, just like Abuela would serve you. After the meal, Paul the owner came and checked on us. Really nice touch to finish off the night. We passed on dessert, a group choice, certainly not mine.

SMOKED BRISKET SOPES

Food is always good, I typically order fajitas or mole enchiladas. I also highly recommend their green pozole. Recently tried their shrimp tacos, and they were okay but I prefer their steak fajitas and tacos. I was also not a fan of their brisket sopes, a bit too much masa for my preference. My sister has a food allergy and every server we've had is always super accommodating and takes time to ask kitchen staff about any dish she's interested in having. The atmosphere is noisy, but in a nice way. Super chatty and good music. We come a few times a month and we're never disappointed!

AHI TUNA TAQUITOS
Elizabeth J.

We tried Muchacho's tonight and it was really good! The wait to get in was about 45 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. I had the Ahi Tuna Taquitos and these things were small but mighty! They were seriously the tiniest little tacos, but they delicious. I would absolutely order them again as my meal because they were that good. The sauce that came with them was amazing and really tied everything together. My husband ordered the Suadero tacos and they were delicious too. The flour tortillas were on point, the brisket was cooked perfectly, and everything inside worked really well together. The borracho beans on the side were also great. We lucked out with a beautiful Texas spring evening and got seats on the patio, which we really enjoyed. It's a cute patio with super comfortable chairs, and it's a great spot to watch the passerby's. Service started a little slow, but once we ordered the food came out quickly and everything tasted so delicious. Another Saturday night trying somewhere new and this is definitely one we'll go back to!

Fajitas with octopus

One word, FABULOUS!!! Great food and attentive service. Had fajitas with Octopus, margaritas, shrimp tacos! All reminded me of Cancun. Paul was wonderful, checked in on our table a few times and our waiter, Jorge, was the best! We are coming back to this place for sure. Quality food and drinks, the entire experience reminded me of being a high end restaurant on the Riviera Maya! Please don't ever change anything, please!

Service attentive but not overbearing, atmosphere, location, and ambiance is totally Texan and modern at the same time. Restaurant is a corner piece in a trendy snd upscale shopping center in Southlake Texas. They have a lovely patio when the whether is nice enough to open it up too. Try a spicy margarita or a cold beer. If your a wine lover they dont leave you out either. I suggest the pork belly fajitas or the shrimp tacos, but any protein and meat from Muchachos is grilled well and flavorful while letting the meat taste shine through. Do NOT LEAVE without their famous Tres Leches cake. Trust me. You will NOT be sorry. With lots of options in Southlake, Muchachos is a staple and local favorite for intimate dinners or large parties.

The food is amazing: Ryan, our server, made the experience. Him coupled with Paul... really elevated our experience. The location at Southlake has a great vibe. Decor is Tex adorable. Try the octopus fajitas.... Yes... I said octopus. Out of this world.....!

Chicken enchiladas

This was the third time we have visited and just as good as the first. We sat in the patio on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Arrived just in time for the happy hour 2-6 EVERY DAY! I had the chicken enchiladas (they have a different name there ). Delicious and tender chicken. We really enjoy their fresh chips and the two salsas that they serve. Our waiter was great. And the happy hour swirl margarita was spot on! Definitely put this place on your list to try and come back to.

Muchacho is great simple and low budget lunch dinner option in Toyota Music Factory area. They have great patio and serve so amazing drinks. The place serves some amazing tacos like Al pastor ,Birria. The consome is amazing. You can order individual tacos or plates of 3-4 with side of rice and beans. They have shareable apps like chips and queso or nachos as well. The food comes fast and they offer different salsas. You have love spicy you have to try their hot salsas it will knock you out. The food is fresh and casual. The service is excellent The place is no frills and very fast food style

PEPITOS SALAD
Hannah F.

The BEST steak fajitas I've ever had in my life and I am super picky. The pepitos salad was also incredible. The ambiance was absolutely stunning and wedding designed. Our server Angel was also on top of it even with his several tables!

Shout out to Alberto who made our time very much enjoyable! I wanted some good fajitas and stumbled on Muchacho a couple times during my search so I met with my sister on a Friday around lunch time. Muchacho is spacious with rustic charm, located directly behind Cheesecake Factory. We were immediately seated and started with the lunch dip sampler which comes with queso and guac. Not my favorite queso, kinda basic in taste but the guacamole was some of the best I've ever had and I surprisingly really enjoyed the pepitas on top. I decided on the angus flap steak and chicken breast fajitas and sis ordered the picadillo hard shell tacos. That fajita sizzle always gets me amped and these looked especially good along with the accoutrements I was ready to dig in. I will say, the quality of the fajita meat was great, tender, moist but unfortunately lacked flavor, they were good but not great and for the price($24) I expected way more. My sis said her tacos were passable but again nothing great. I ordered a tres leches to go but as I write this review about 2 weeks after I visited Muchacho , I honestly don't remember how it tasted so do with that what you will. This place was to pricey for just ok food, but again our server Alberto was awesome, very attentive and super friendly. It wasn't terrible but I don't see myself returning.

Friendly, cheerful, and a Ray of sunshine in the mysterious and dim lights, reminiscent of a speakeasy. I ordered a Cheeseburger and it came with Skinny Fries. Both the Tavern and Tycoon are in Flower Mound, and I have not visited, but I have made stops at both Jane and now Volstead. And I have to say, I wanted to be impressed, and I just wasn't. When I went to Jane, the cocktails were not up to snuff. My visit to Volstead, the cocktail was fantastic but the ambiance and food disappointed. I came into Volstead to check out the happy hour. They have a discount on wine, and half off their signature cocktails and martinis. They make craft cocktails, which were impressive, but only have one bartender. It takes time, but they could use another. I ordered a Volstead Vesper. It is a bold martini. Josh made it well. It was well balanced. Boozy yet balanced. And I love a lemon curl. A garnish can really elevate a cocktail. Five stars for the drink. I will come back and order another one. I also ordered their spicy tuna crispy rice. It was rather a disappointment. The serving size was generous, the crunch on the rice was there, and then it fell short. The texture of the rice was on the mushier side. The tuna was NOT spicy. It had been dressed in something, but it brought absolutely NO flavor or anything to the tuna. There was a wasabi cream and a sauce (maybe eel sauce) that dressed the plate, but the tuna was bland. A little soy, citrus, yuzu, sriracha or SOMETHING to elevate and brighten the tuna would have been EVERYTHING. So it just ended up being bland tuna, on undressed avocado, on fried mushy rice with some tasty sauces. It absolutely was not spicy. And with a little something something it could have been rather tasty. Even with mushy rice. When I walked in and sat down, there was no music playing so you were just hearing conversations bouncing off the walls. After about a half hour someone decided they needed some tunes, but then it was too loud and it was hard to hear the bar tenders. I loved the decor, and again, my cocktail was really rather good. The overall feel just felt kind of sloppy. It could have been awesome, and fell short. They claim to have Southlakes best burger, and maybe that is a better choice than the tuna. I may give it a shot. It got rather popular as I was leaving, the crowd a bit more mature. And maybe that is their bag. They have great reviews and high stars, I just didn't feel it.

I do usually swap out the mashed potatoes for the chopped wedge as side, just seems like the classical steakhouse side for the task. The only thing I would say that is lacking is the wine list, despite being very fairly priced. Their most bespoke bottle of red is the Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), which while amazing for the $99.99 they charged, it was fairly flat, lacking the traditional vanilla perfume you'd expect from a pricey California Cabernet Sauvignon.
