I have sent this restaurant 2 emails and no one responded. The waiter charged my credit card $221 for a round of margaritas without my consent. I gave my credit card after ordering 7 margaritas and asked the server to close them out. The charge was $221. The most expensive margarita on the menu was $15 which should total $105. When I questioned the charge they said they would call a manager but I left after waiting 15 mins. Out of respect for not wanting to post a negative review, I emailed the restaurant twice asking for resolution. No response. I have no choice but to possibly get their attention this way. Hopefully they will do something. This is just like theft. Shame on them for doing that. read more

Beautiful room, good food, high prices. A few things: The bathrooms are inadequate for the number of people they have, so if you don't want to wait in a line go before you get there. They got my order wrong and then told me that they couldn't make beef enchiladas with chili Concorde. Then they gave me someone else's order. I love the atmosphere and authentic Mexican food options here! Beware of the hostess/manager- although she is not friendly, the servers are incredible and can offer wonderful suggestions. I love taking my friends here to check out this cool spot and do some shopping after but I don't enjoy the offensive looks and comments she has given my party on multiple occasions. read more

If you are looking for authentic and flavorful Tex Mex food, you will be very happy eating here. The beef tacos we moist and Smokey, the enchiladas were a flavorful. If you prefer the blandness of Mi Cocina, this may be too flavorful and delicious for you. The serving staff was fantastic. Highly recommend!! read more

I'd like to give 5 stars to our waiter--he was great in an obviously under-staffed restaurant. My friend and I visited this restaurant this evening and while the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and the food is ok, we were most disappointed by the abrupt and rude way we were (essentially) asked to vacate our table for other guests. We had not quite finished our meal when our waiter dropped the check at the table. Two or three minutes later, the manager (perhaps? She was not dressed in the same uniform as the wait staff) came by to scoop up some plates that we were still eating off of. When we asked her to leave the plates a few more minutes, she informed us that there were other reservations waiting for our table. I would have understood if it was a busy weekend evening and if we were taking up a table they were trying to turn quickly, but each item we ordered took such a long time to get to the table that it didn't seem like they were in much of a hurry. We immediately felt unwelcome (which was their intention, I assume), paid and left. We won't be coming back, nor will I recommend this restaurant to others. read more

I have been a frequent customer of Muchacho for over a year and have never been disappointed until recently. Upon arriving, I asked for a 4 top in the bar area. I was told they were for reservations only, which I put my name down for an hour wait. It was 4:15 on a Friday afternoon. Upon receiving my text, I received another text 5 minutes later that read "2 hour wait." Within 5 more minutes and I was texted a "3 hour wait." I went to the receptionist and asked why I'm now being told 3 hour wait when 10 minutes earlier, it was an hour. During COVID times, the aim of my reviews has changed a bit to also reflect how compliant restaurants are with COVID safety guidelines. I walked by this restaurant and decided to make reservations based on the fact that they had outside seating with heaters. We had a 6:00 reservation on a Sunday night and when we arrived, the restaurant was pretty full with most of the tables occupied. I felt safe overall sitting outside (I always think there could be more space in between tables even outside, but in comparison to other restaurants the amount of space was okay). Menus were accessible via the barcode on the table, which is always a safe practice. In terms of the food and drinks, they were excellent. I had a spicy skinny margarita, which was delicious and my husband enjoyed a Tamarindo margarita. For our meal, my husband got carne asada steak, which he thought was great and I had the grilled shrimp tacos, which were also good. The service was excellent as well. Went there for the first time. Was excited to try this place out as our son said it was great. We had reservations and got sat right away and then it started. The wait. Our waiter took for ever to get water then to take a drink order. 15 mins. Yes 15. They seem so understaff. Our waiter disappeared a lot and when I saw him he was not doing a lot. I ordered a beer and it took for every. The food was good but the overall service was poor. We sat at table 51. Against the wall. On Saturday April 3 2021. I was here from Houston visiting but but will not try again. There are a lot of other places. I think we will head back to Sugars. read more

Skimpin. I was told I was getting 3 tacos when in end I only received 2 tacos very small portions for such high prices. Never referring anyone nor will I ever come back very disappointed. The quality is there just very bad prices for the portion you receive. read more

I enjoyed everything about Muchacho Southlake. So did my five special guests. All of us were there for the first time, and the important first impression was positive and strong. It exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. Delicious food well presented. Rather oddly for Texas, the queso and two salsas were mild (overly so for my taste). I agree no COVID precautions at all. The manager is also extremely rude at times he needs to bring it back down to reality. I really enjoyed going here on multiple occasions and also getting to go weekly. The last 2 times the quality has been below average and the drinks inconsistent. I hope they can take the safety of social distancing more serious moving forward. I've been to other restaurants like Uchi where they have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND for safety. read more

My food was delicious, but I had subpar service. Our waitress checked on us every 20ish minutes, which I do not feel is enough for Muchacho's price point. Eric the manager was extremely rude and ruined our experience tonight. He came up to our table while we had finished our meal but still enjoying our cocktails and said we needed to leave, they are extremely busy and need our table and they had already accommodated us enough night. Our reservation was for 7pm, he came over to our table at 830pm. Considering we were still drinking our cocktails, we found this extremely unprofessional and rude. He did not offer us a seat at the bar or a free drink for trying to move us. I wanted to love this place but the management and customer service was terrible. I do not recommend. read more

I really like this place. Friendly service, strong and tasty drinks (the frozen muchacho gets the job done nicely), and high quality steak in their fajitas/tacos. Also, the queso fundido (get it with chorizo, and add some of their red salsa) is worth every bit of arterial plaque. The staff, especially Jonathan and Dennis, are great. The only thing I wish they had were some fans on their patio. Overall, a great place to have a couple margs and some filling, higher-end Tex-Mex. read more

Only reason why I ma giving this place a one star is because the manager (Jonathan) walks around like he owns the place. We eat at very expensive places and most managers will check on you and take any plates you aren't using anymore. The manager from here walked and around and around and never even picked up the plate that was there for someone to pick up. Most managers would of picked the plate and asked if our dinner was good.. oh no this Jonathan guy just walked around burning calories and taking up space... Overpriced and unfriendly. I will say the food was well-prepared. But if you're looking for good Tex-mex food and margaritas in Dallas, and you want to be treated like a decent human being, you're better off going to Rafas, Ojedas, Mia's, etc. and paying a third of the price.
