Fajitas spread and queso
Stephanie C.

Great service and delicious food. These are some of the best fajitas in Dallas. Their queso is also some of my favorite. The staff is always lively and friendly. I do wish their mocktails could be better priced ... they're $15, so almost as much as their famous margaritas. The vibe is elevated casual, and it's usually a busy spot on the weekends.

We hit up Muchacho on Sunday, February 1st, for brunch, and it was a great choice! Started with the brisket sopes as an appetizer--super tasty and a nice way to kick things off. The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious; I preferred the red sauce over the green, but that's just personal taste. Drinks were decent--solid margs and cocktails--but a bit on the pricey side. Understandable for the upscale vibe and location in Preston Center. For the main, the pork belly fajitas were amazing--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and juicy. The rice and beans on the side were just right, not overdone or bland. Totally recommend this place for brunch or anytime you're craving elevated Tex-Mex. The food and atmosphere make it worth it. Only downside: the restrooms are limited--just 2 toilets for the whole restaurant. Not sure how that's up to code with how busy it gets, but it didn't ruin the experience. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

I have to say...this place was amazing!! Our service, drinks, food, desserts, coffee were amazing!! I think I had the best tres leches cake I've ever had!!!!! I'll definitely be back for that. It was packed when we got there but gladly one of my girlfriends made reservations weeks in advance and the earliest we could get was 8 pm which was fine they sat us right away and service was great! I had to try two different plates bc why not I wasn't sure the pozole verde would be filling enough for me so I ordered that it's sooo good definitely recommend! And I also ordered tacos al carbon - don't worry I took some home but I wanted a taco too. We had the como la flor and chefs kiss or should I saw bartenders kiss it was good!! We also had coffee - not all places have good coffee for dinner and this was definitely good they brought is some creamer too. Now the tres leches - everyone order it! I don't care if you don't like it - it's soo good! It has a hint of pineapple- which I loved! The whipped cream was homemade you could tell and the coconut flakes . It was a little pricey but we knew were going to a nice place and didn't mind. I saw a lot sitting outside and it was like 30-40 degrees so I assume they felt warm enough to sit outside I also saw lots of blankets out there. They also hand cute matches as compliments in the front instead of mints - I love matches from any restaurant so that was nice too.

When in Dallas, find a bougie Tex-mex restaurant!! Came here for a friend's 60th birthday party and it was fabulous, just like her!! The restaurant itself is a bit tight but loved the decor and big windows all through the place. Plenty of parking as it's part of a connected space. Our waiter was on point and helped our party of 12 navigate through the menu flawlessly, even the gluten free couple felt comfortable ordering without prejudice!! The complimentary chips and salsa were def handmade and has a kick, so watch out! The margaritas were strong, cold, and perfect. The tamarindo was my go to and the ghost pepper had a slight heat but I could've had 5 of those babies, no problemo!! Queso was straight cheese, eat it fast cuz it'll harden. The hamachi Agua chile was more Asian style in my opinion, but very good. The brisket sopas were the fan favorite!! Ended up ordering a second serving!! Steak/shrimp Fajitas & brisket taquitos were a hit!! The shrimp were massive and loved the fresh tortillas!! They were kind enough to let us bring in our own cake, so we didn't try any dessert, but everything looked lovely!! Will def hit them up again when in town!! There is a Southlake location which is closer that I will also need to check out, plus I read they have a happy hour. Woohooo!!

Muchacho is always one of our favorites. The Ahi Tuna Tostadas are great, very fresh and flavorful. We went with an order of the chicken and steak fajitas, both were delicious. We ordered the steak fajitas medium as they tend to be rarer than what you order. Our waiter, Clint, was amazing, we never had an empty glass, never had to ask for anything. He made it a very fun and enjoyable trip with some great recommendations as well. Overall, great dinner, will be back.

First time here. Chips & salsa are good! The music playing overhead is great for the setting! The seating is a bit crowded as this place is popular. We had a 30 min wait on a Tuesday for dinner! The staff is accommodating & friendly! I ordered the steak nachos. The steak was dry in some places but otherwise good taste. I was served a portion of cauliflower pickled. This is new to me. Overall the food is good.

Muchacho Dallas .... Fall patio vibes with repeat potential Muchacho Dallas on a breezy Sunday afternoon was an instant vibe! I chose patio seating to soak in the nice weather & good energy. I started with the chips & salsa, which came out fresh and crisp: Tip* mix both salsas together...and its a perfect pairing Then came the Picadillo Empanadas: spiced beef picadillo, oaxaca cheese, avocado crema, pickled red onions, and pepitas. Let me just confess that the pickled red onions were the star of the show, hands downs. The only miss for me was the inside of the empanadas. Unfortunately ,a little too doughy for my taste. I was hoping for more crunch to match the flavor. Next up were the Steak Nachos: generously topped with refried beans and cheese but a little light on chips. They came with guac, sour cream, and taqueria-style pickles. Flavor of the steak was pretty good , but for $20, I expected a bit more Wowwww factor. Overall, Muchacho has the vibes, the service was chill, and the setting is perfect for a weekend unwind. I'll definitely give it another try. However, next time, I'll be sticking with the classics like enchiladas or tacos. #MuchachoDallas #DallasEats #SundayVibes #PatioSeason #FoodieFinds #DallasBrunch #TacoLover

My man and I could only remember the place with the good queso. We visited a Mexican restaurant 2 years ago and raved about the queso. As we hemmed and hawed about where to eat, we remembered the place with the queso. We googled Mexican Restaurant with the best queso. We guessed this must be the place and we were CORRECT! The QUESOOOO. Our dishes were great. The service was spot on. My man said the Old Fashioned was well balanced...and he will send a drink back fast. lol. We give it a 9/10...because you know...can a restaurant really be 10/10. lol

I stumbled across this place for dinner on a Saturday night and it was packed! There was about a 20 minute wait, which wasn't bad considering all the people waiting. They were turning tables fast. Service was really good! I had a delicious margarita (I think it was the house one), amazing queso (seriously it was like a BOWL of queso and it was outstanding), and mole enchiladas which were superb! As someone from Southern California, I liked this Mexican food wayyy more than Tex Mex. Definitely would come back!

Muchacho is a cute upscale-casual Tex-Mex restaurant. Or send to be very popular with the locals. It was pretty crowded. I had to wait for a seat at the bar. I saw one review that suggested making a reservation. I agree. They have a pretty nice selection of margaritas. I had the spicy margarita. It was good. There were two obvious vegetarian options: rojo enchilada and cauliflower tacos. The bar tenders were very busy so I didn't want to ask a bunch of questions, but I did ask which of those items was recommended. The couple next to me and bar tender suggested the tacos. The portion was large, and the food was delicious! Next time I'm in Dallas, I'll go back.

We overall had a great experience at Muchacho's. We started off with a house margarita, a skinny margarita, and their queso. The house margarita and queso were excellent; however, we were not a huge fan of the skinny margarita (it tasted pretty bland). We then split the combo beef/chicken fajitas, which were fantastic. The fajitas came with great toppings, tortillas, and made for an overall great meal. The service and atmosphere here was also friendly. This has been one of the better Tex Mex places I've had in DFW and I am likely to come back.

It's a crime that Muchacho doesn't have higher ratings. The only thing I can think of is that they don't want everyone to know how great it is. THE BEST TEX MEX IN DALLAS HANDS DOWN. BEST MARG, SERVICE EVERYTHING! Me and everyone I know comes here all the time because it's so great.

Now let's talk about the vibe because BABY... from the outside, you would NEVER expect what's inside. You walk in and suddenly you're in a full-on 70s-inspired living room. I just wish our server mentioned there were additional drink menu options written over the bar, because I preferred those choices to what was on the menu! On the topic of cocktails, I tried the the nuit en rose spritz, the limoncello spritz as well as the pina colada spritz. They were all delicious, freshening and while the cocktails are definitely pricey, I thought there was enough alcohol in the drinks to make them worth it. For food, we ordered the honey truffle brie baguette, the frites, and the quiche of the day which happened to be goat cheese and spinach. WOW!! The baguette transported me to heaven, so good!! The truffle is strong though, so only order if you like that flavoring! Frites were crispy and easy to grab by the handful, definitely worth ordering and splitting with the whole table.
