First time at Muchacho and it won't be my last. I always pass this place and never stopped until today. I was in the area and was starting and in need of a drinky drink. Muchacho was recommended by a friend, so I decided to stop in. First thing to know there is free parking next to the building and multiple parking lots nearby. The restaurant is pretty casual with space indoors and a shaded outdoor area. This is a great spot if you're heading to the beltline. I got the chai ginger beer as my drink. Two flavors I love, but I don't think I love together. But others may like it. I also got the birria quesadilla. It was hot, crispy, yummy and totally hit the spot. This seems to be a popular spot. Muchacho is such a great spot along the Atlanta BeltLine! I ordered the bacon, egg, cheese, and potato breakfast burrito, and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The burrito was filling without feeling too heavy, and every bite was delicious. I also tried the Peach State Grind made with Altos Reposado, Amaretto, Peach Liqueur, Egg White and Lemon, which was refreshing and paired perfectly with my tacos. On top of the great food, the outdoor seating is fantastic. It's the perfect place to relax, enjoy the BeltLine atmosphere, and have a leisurely breakfast. If you're looking for a delicious breakfast with a great patio and a laid-back vibe, Muchacho is definitely worth a visit. I'll absolutely be back to try more of the menu! read more

I had been meaning to try this place for a while, and the setting is definitely unique. Being in a repurposed train station gives it a really interesting backdrop for dining. We started with the queso and chips, but it would have been much better if the queso had been served hot. The corn ribs were a highlight and something I would order again. I had the taco salad for my main, which was fine overall, though the steak was also served cold. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back, especially with the open windows and doors, which makes it a great place to hang out. I just wish the food had been served warm to match the vibe. read more

The lighting, merch, and building are beautiful. As a designer I appreciate the choices that were made. But I'm here to talk about the food, the parking lot that only opens on one side and the staff. The staff members were warm and inviting. I ordered to go with ease and the food came out in good time. When I opened the burrito I realized why the menu stressed it was over 1 pound. When I read this on the menu I thought it would be big and filling. Incorrect, it was small with no salsa or dips and I didn't care for the added French fries inside. Onto the burger which was sizable but did not come with a side for $16. My comment would be add a side. I also ordered chips and queso. Everything was ok tasting I really enjoyed the tortilla chips. I don't think I'll be back. The drinks did sound interesting though so maybe I will order chips and drink after eating somewhere else. read more

Muchachos has hipster taco shop vibes with great cocktails and an incredibly attentive, friendly staff. It was my first time visiting, so I told them and asked how everything worked, and they made it super easy. Ordering is flexible. You can order at the front counter, or you can snag a table since it's open seating. Once you sit down, a server will find you, give you a number, and take care of you for the rest of your visit. I ended up getting a booth thanks to a very friendly manager who helped me out. For drinks, I had a few cocktails, and my favorite was the Sage Against the Machine, a gin-based cocktail that tasted so fresh and delicious. I also had some Prosecco and an appetizer, the Dip Trio, which comes with guacamole, salsa, and queso. All three were amazing, and it was so good I honestly forgot to take a picture. I got to say that their grilled corn ribs were AMAZING. It was flavorful, came out nice and hot, and needed to have more on the plate for what it's worth ($6). I'd get that again as an appetizer. We tried 3 of their tacos and tried the corn shell (don't do it, bad idea). The corn shell was thick and dry. We got al pastor, Muchacho style, and pork belly tacos. I think the tacos were okay to be honest, kinda boring. The blue matcha ($5) is not good as a latte. The flavor is bland, it's really for the aesthetic. The pea flower powder turns it blue with a hint of lemon. The iced chai was a bit watery. I'd honestly give muchacho an updated 4 out of 5 stars (the corn ribs really boosted it from a 3/5). The place has an amazing patio right off the beltline. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon they also have a pretty good happy hour with drink and food specials. We tried the Baja fish Taco, the pork belly taco, the mahi burrito. Everything was cooked to perfection with good portion sizes. The trio with the salsa queso and guacamole was pretty good too. The salsa could be more balanced in its flavor was over smoked.Will definitely swing back to try the drinks and chill on the patio. Muchacho is a nice spot for a causal lunch or happy hour. The trendy industrial style interior adds to the casual atmosphere. We ordered at the counter: a harvest bowl, and 2 tacos (fish and shrimp). The weather was nice so we sat outside and posted up at a table and pulled out our laptops. Our food came out quickly. I was given two shrimp tacos instead of one fish and one shrimp. I recently came back to Muchacho's after a long hiatus, and it didn't disappoint! There was some new staff that I encountered that were as sweet and welcoming as the ones that I had come to know, and one of them stuffed red that I should try their new item since the last time I've been there: Birria Verde Quesadilla. This has to be one of the best birria dishes I've ever had! The meat was so juicy, tender, and well seasoned. I was also happy that they provide a generous amount of meat. The consomé was the true star of the dish! The amount of flavor in it truly took me by surprise in the best way since it packed a punch, and the bits of meat within was super tender and soaked it all up. Came here for a work date and it's safe to say I will definitely be back! I went to the counter and was pleasantly greeted by Melanie. She suggested the Macha Eggs and reassured me that the Blue Matcha Latte was a winner (I was on the fence). I also added a side of Tinga Chicken for the carnivore in me. Let's just say, I put my laptop to the side and had to fully enjoy this meal. Everything was spot on! From the music to the meal. I was dancing in my seat while eating! Towards the end of my work date, I felt like I deserved a drink so I ended my time there with The Layback which was made with gin (someone sitting near the bar was drinking it and said it was a winner) and it was soooo good! I've been here before and it was fine, so I didn't think it would be a problem to come here again for takeout. I ordered the vegan bowl with an add on of mahi mahi, which was an additional 6.00. I also got a side of chips and queso. The cashier was friendly and kind. Once I got home, I noticed there were two round containers (one for cheese dip). I thought maybe they gave me an extra cheese dip. When I opened the additional container, it was filled with long, brown sticks. I thought they gave me some complimentary churros. Well, they were not---that was the MAHI MAHI. Overcooked, hard and rubbery, with a strong fishy smell. I could not believe that I paid 6.00 for this. Not only was the fish overcooked, but there was so little of it! Please see the photos. This is unacceptable and I will not be returning ever again. What a cute place!!! This place changed and got renovated because the last time I came here it was much MUCH smaller. The vibe is just so cute!! And super close to the beltline, like right next door and off of 20. That being said, their menu is very simple. You got tacos, burritos and some bowls that it... the tacos were goood tho, that masa that may be blue corn for the tortillas were made so fresh, and both the carne asada and the shrimp were flavorful...only downfall is they're messy! First off can I hear a little commotion for the patio. The beautiful impressive courtyard style patio is such an oasis of beautiful spaces, I've never been here at night but I bet it's just as beautiful as in the day time. I've visited here a few times this month as I'm just smitten by the awesome ambience and the service. You can just feel the warmth as you step inside. MELONIE was our wonderful server a few times, she's the introduction to this place she introduced herself to us as we were in awe of the patio she let us know we could sit anywhere we liked. I love how she took care of us letting us know all about the menu and what is popular. It's been a long time since I've had impeccable service like this. I also noticed the other servers seem just as pleasant and personable as MELONIE, so that lets me know if she isn't working when we come back we will still be in good hands :) My daughter and I enjoyed our Blue Matcha Latte which is a mix of butterfly and sweet matcha powders mixed into this beautiful blue colored latte. It is very delicious. I've also tried the Chia Latte and loved it as well. This is a very fun place to catch up with friends especially if they are from out of town, you will blow them away with this spot. I also love the corn ribs and the Taco's. The parking can get a little difficult just wait a few minutes and something should come open for you as there's always people coming and going. I'd say the best way is to walk here from the beltline or ride your bike here. It was a seat yourself situation, so we initially were spread out outside before one of the bigger tables opened up for us. The outside area itself is great when the weather is good, and indoors has a good vibe too. The food was solid but nothing special, priced around what you'd expect along the Beltline. My poke bowl was tasty but had about a third of a cup of pickled ginger. Came for brunch on a weekday and they were already pretty busy. There is a parking lot on the side which I love. The ambiance and decoration was great and felt so cozy. We got the breakfast skillet and a fish taco, a blue matcha and a honey maple shaker. The breakfast skillet had lots of potatoes and mushrooms ! The food is fine generally, the drinks are good, the ambiance is great. But god the service is so unbelievably backwards they clearly need more support and until they get it we will not be returning. We were able to select seating inside or outside (where heating was prevalent) after being told that we should place orders at the counter. I selected the tuna Poké bowl and my companion got a taco and the Aji tostadas. The presentation on all were equally as pleasing as the aesthetics. Although I asked for brown rice and was told that was not an option, the rice came with black squid ink which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious. The poke bowl consisted of seared tuna, cucumber slices, seaweed and a healthy portion of ginger. Did not see the roe listed in the description. The tostada was good with flavorful tuna, avocado and purple cabbage. My companion enjoyed the cauliflower al pastor vegan tacos. There were several vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. *Please note that there were at least 2 different menus for different time frames.* Drink options were a bit limited for my beer cravings and bar was closing shortly after we arrived. Overall, very eclectic place from art on wall including one of my faves - Bruce Lee to outdoor seating with swing chairs and little nooks. Went in and ordered a iced coffee with an extra shot of espresso. Take them a little while to figure out how to ring me out, but they finally got it together. I'm standing next to the counter, putting milk and sugar in my cup and I'm thinking it looks a little late to have an extra shot of espresso. I hear the guy behind him say hey what did you need this espresso for. The cashier tells him. Oh don't worry about it. I already gave the drink to him. I'm standing there like there's no way this guy is just gonna blatantly not put the espresso in the cup. So after a minute or two I'm like hey are you gonna put the espresso in the drink like I asked? He says oh yeah I put it in there already. I said I just heard you tell him that she didn't need it cause you already gave me the drink, so it's clearly not in here. He again look me in the eyes and said no it's in there. It's in there. The fact that you would blatantly lie to my face and not make the drink the way I ordered it is absolutely ignorant and unacceptable. If that's the way they do business. It's definitely not somewhere. I'll be returning not to mention the cup was only 2/3 of the way full anyway so clearly he did not put the espresso one.
