The restaurant is in a weird location in west midtown but the vibes once you're there are great. The server I had the last time I went may be one of my favorite servers I've ever had. He was so energetic and helpful. The food is pretty good. I would say it's above your average Mexican restaurant in Atlanta. I would not recommend the house margarita though. It is definitely worth the extra money to get one of their nicer margaritas.

Super fun night! My friend and I had great food, great drinks, and great service! If you like Tequila and Mezcal they have a large variety of both! I had and enjoyed very much the Birria Enchiladas!! I washed them down with a pomegranate margarita! I wished I lived here because this would for sure be my go to spot for good food and drinks!

This was our first time visiting the Bone Garden Cantina near Midtown Atlanta. The interior is vibrantly and colorfully decorated with what appears to be a day of the dead Mexican theme. Caitlin, our server, was friendly and attentive. She gave good recommendations and was able to describe and compare the traditional menu items to those on the special menu. I tried the adobo steak quesadilla from the special menu based upon Caitlin's recommendation. It tasted very fresh and quite flavorful. Based upon the colorful decor, the good service, and the great food I would definitely recommend and consider returning to this restaurant. Cheers

Some friends went to the boat show at the congress center and decided to eat nearby. Been here several times as my oldest lives nearby. Across from the Tol Golf downtown. It is an odd place, or location, at least. Back side of a business complex. If you weren't specifically looking for it, you would drive past it. Day of the dead themed artwork throughout the place. A little dark but comfy. I love this place. Food is always good. Had their Thursday special, birria brisket tacos. Delicious. I'm not much of a corn shell person, but these were a perfect complement to the meat. The esquite (like Mexican street corn off the cob) was awesome. Shared with the table. Only 1 TV in the place, which was a little disappointing trying to watch some of the college playoff game, but that's nothing to pole at.

The food here was good. I ordered a lamb stew with a taco to accompany it. It was slightly pricy for the portion servings in my opinion, but I would definitely eat here again. The wall art is also really pretty and nice to look at.

Omg! This place is so cool! It's apparently the same people that own the Vortex - so same vibes. The food here is incredible! I will say, it get BUSY here, but considering how good the food and service is, you can't be mad at that. Even with how busy they were, they served us pretty quick. I got their Birria Enchiladas and the sauce that comes on those enchiladas - AMAZING! My husband got their Birria tacos and the consume was so good. I know most places are on the liquid side (here included) when it comes to consume, but it still had so much flavor! So points for that. Most places fall flat on the consume. The queso here, so good! It's not your typical white queso. This one has some spice to it and it's so good!

I can not stand this place. The drinks were honestly not good and weren't even what we ordered. I tried to walk in and the hostess was SO rude. We were in everyone's way but they wouldn't seat us either and it was very frustrating. Once our whole party was there we were seated and then it got worse. I split a burrito and everyone received their food except for me. Of course. Then it took 45 minutes to get my meal so I just asked for it to go. Would've been nice to eat there. On top of waiting I just opened my to go container and it's the wrong type of burrito.... Are you joking. As were saying buy to our friends the waitress with curly hair actually yelled at us to either leave or sit because still in the way I guess. Your workers are rude and your food was not good. Last time I ever come to this place.

A friend of mine local to Atlanta treated our group of 3 to lunch at Bone Garden Cantina. It was a Saturday around 1pm when we walked in. There was a short wait, less than ten minutes, and we were taken to a table. The staff were friendly, despite how busy the restaurant was (no open tables). We enjoyed chips and queso as an appetizer and I have to celebrate this queso. The texture was so smooth and it tasted fresh and not like fake cheese. There is a slight kick to it, but I wouldn't say it's spicy. Our food came out quickly and there were no complaints from the table. We enjoyed one of the specials - the steak adobo quesadilla, a house salad, and the birria brisket enchiladas. This is a great cantina vibe restaurant for lunch and we enjoyed the ambiance and flavors! I would definitely visit again if I'm in town.

While on a trip to ATL, a large group of colleagues and I decided to go to Bone Garden Cantina for dinner. The décor was so fun and this was definitely a unique place to visit. As someone from Texas, I wasn't sure what to expect for Mexican food in ATL but I was curious to see how it compares to our Tex-Mex. We decided to order a large variety of things to share as a group in addition to our individual meals. I tried the following: - House Margarita: I love a good margarita and this wasn't it. I thought it tasted very watery and like the margarita mix was store bought. I didn't order a second and wouldn't recommend this. - The Three Amigos: average trio dip with chips. This is a standard appetizer to order so I would order it again even though neither the queso nor guacamole were "great". - Birria Brisket Enchiladas (without tomatillo sauce): The flavor was good but this definitely had a kick to it. - Banana Empanadas: I haven't ever had a banana empanada so this was good to try. Of the two desserts, this was my favorite. - Almond Flan: An OK desert that was fun to try Our entire group found the meal to be very spicy to the point that not everyone was able to eat their food despite it being delicious otherwise. If you have a low spice tolerance (like me), I would suggest asking the server. As for service, it was OK. Our server was friendly and did her best to accommodate such a large group but the other staff in the restaurant were a bit short with us if asked a question. All in all, I'm glad we tried it but it isn't a place I plan to go back to if every in ATL.

It smells like heaven. It tastes like a dream. Everything here is so amazing, it's almost suspicious. Oh boy, my stomach must be drafting love letters to the chef again. I'm not a stranger to this place, especially after surviving working the wilds of Dragon Con over a long weekend. I'm on a personal quest to conquer their taco menu - a delicious journey, though I confess I've barely scratched the surface. Each taco is a revelation. The elote? To die for. Their salsa? It could probably win elections. And the cocktails... let's just say they have a special way of smoothing over the rough edges of reality. It's like the bartenders are wizards, and their wands are cocktail shakers.

Came here for date night dinner and it was so good!! I had a drink that I didn't love, but my boyfriend had a house margarita that he thought was delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating and it's decorated really cute too

I would have given them 5 stars but they got rid of the "red sangria" and the white one isn't good at all. However Sam's service was really good. It was a chill Taco Tuesday. And the ambiance was relaxing for a weekday. Please bring back the red sangria!

Can anyone tell me how crowded it typically is at 5:30 on a Saturday? Also, will they seat you if your entire group isn't there yet?

Very busy on a Saturday at that time. Not sure about seating the entire party without everyone there.

To start, they brought me a freshly baked loaf of GF bread and my own plate of salted butter when everyone else was eating bread. THEN I received a special marked up menu with the options that would be safe for me to eat. Had the scallops and they were divine. Also had a side of strawberries with creme and wowwwww. I could've eaten 5 of those bowls My husband got the mezzaluna which the staff described as little raviolis in Parmesan broth and he loved it. Everything 10/10, spectacular, no notes

I have never been to a higher end French Restaurant that only offered three white wines by the glass. Pushing bottles perhaps? The only white that even sounded half way decent was a boring Chardonnay at $17 for a 4-5 ounce pour. Insanity. The room we were seated in was fine, drapery everywhere which I'm sure was used to create a cozy intimate atmosphere - but the result missed the mark. Our server was gracious and attentive to start, but then became a bit absent once more guests arrived. My husband started with the much touted onion soup. No French chef would incorporate such a mass of cheese and salt to this classic preparation. There was nothing epic or outstanding about it. (even after our server said something like "the NY Times said it was the best in the country.") Yeah, right. For the mains I went with the duck confit accompanied by potatoes sarladasies. The spuds, if correctly prepared, are supposed to be garlicky and crisp after being pan fried in duck or goose fat. Mine were limp and bland. I have no idea what was in their sauce verte - as it added nothing flavor wise, and sadly just soaked the potatoes. The duck was OK. Again, nothing memorable. My husband ordered the $34 burger after hearing the $70 plus price tag for the Dover Sole Meunière. Lunacy. I mean the beef patty was tasty, but nothing better than an old fashioned cook-out one grilled in your own backyard. The frites were just weird. We have been to France on several occasions and never encountered such a preparation. Would we ever go back? Nope.
