I'm helping to design a new construction residence and was referred to check out countertops and backsplashes at MSI or MS International, Inc. I fell in love at first sight with the large selection and attractive showroom. Unfortunately, like some bad, handsome beings, don't let the good looks fool you! At about 3:20 pm on Monday I checked in with a receptionist who seemed laid back, to say the least. I didn't waste her time because I knew exactly which stone I wanted. She walked me to the correct section, waved her hand at the row of slabs that fit my color scheme and left, which was okay. What was NOT okay is that she failed to say that ALL EXCEPT ONE OF THE SLABS WERE ALREADY SOLD! I wasted 25 minutes carefully matching, selecting, and photographing SKU tags among a bunch of UNAVAILABLE merchandise. When I returned to her to place my order, she nonchalantly made the disclosure that she should have made at the beginning! There was only ONE slab at the far end of the row available! Why didn't she say that in the first place?!? When I complained to her about her failure to provide vital information, she shrugged it off after making a lame excuse. I walked out without another word, extremely irritated by her dismissive attitude. I drove to the next store on my list, hoping I could get there before closing and make up for lost time. That next store, Cosmos Granite and Marble, proved to be delightful! Not as fancy, but with an even better selection of designer stone, and an extremely friendly salesman, whose knowledge is unsurpassed. I reserved 5 slabs of material from Cosmos and made plans to return for an amazing slab of exotic stone so crystalline that it can be backlit. MSI showed me that they do not care about treating prospective customers well. Don't waste your time at MSI! Learn from my pain! Go straight to Cosmos for great service and selection! Our kitchen contractor, NV Kitchens in Falls Church VA, used MSI Brookline Cyrus in our kitchen. MSI Brookline Cyrus has a lifetime residential warranty. The floor cracked 14 months after construction was completed. NV Kitchens says their work is guaranteed for only 12 months. MSI says we must work through our contractor - so our lifetime residential warranty floor is only good for 12 months. It is a catch 22 - lifetime warranty only as good as contractor and contractor is not so good. MSI offers no support to remedy the situation. read more

From the moment I went into MSI Washington in Sterling, they were different - warm, kind and so helpful. Adeel is an amazing greeter and warehouse lead, and goes out of his way. Patricia was the same - so knowledgeable on porcelain counters, helpful and even calledtransport to check a palette high up in case they were the samples I couldn't find anywhere for months - and they were! MSI has a good selection of stone, and that's pretty much all that I can say that is positive. My fabricator sent me to MSI to pick out a slab. I arrived at the showroom and there was no one on the floor, so I tried to check in on the computer as indicated by the signage. I made multiple attempts with no success, even though the information was filled out correctly. After waiting on the showroom floor with no one around, I finally called the store number to get some assistance. Finally, 18 minutes after I arrived, a woman came out and I showed her a picture of the granite that I was interested in. She looked on the computer and couldn't locate it, so she took me out to the slabs. All the time that she was with me she seemed quite disinterested. I finally left after a very disappointing visit. I went home and went to the MSI webpage and very quickly found the stone that had been shown to me in a picture from my fabricator. I don't know why she couldn't locate it if their database is maintained. I am now planning to install a stone that I have not seen in person. I would not recommend MSI to others. read more

We were provided information for this company and the address by another granite distributer. We drove the 40 minutes from Alexandria and upon arrival we were greeted by an employee stating that they have a policy that doesn't allow any kids under 16 into the showroom. She then asked us if we could leave our two kids (ages 10 and 12) in the car, as if they were dogs! Completely unacceptable! There is nothing on their website that says anything about a 16 and under policy. We are renovating a kitchen and three bathrooms - they will not be seeing any of our money! read more

MSI - Sophie Maron floor tile and Bellagio elongated hexagon - Flooring Near Me - Dulles, Virginia

We ordered 12x24 tiles and bullnose tile at the same time through one of their distributors. The white in the tiles was not matched. The MSI rep told me that I should have inspected the tiles which were in the boxes. Apparently they do not feel they have any responsibility ensuring their product is acceptable. They would not do anything to remedy their error. Worst customer service. Don't expect any returned phone call or emails. Everyone is in "meetings." read more

We are building a home in Sarasota and reside in richmond, so our installer told us to come to this location in Dulles and they would ship granite to Florida. So glad we came as Sky was very helpful and let us spend as much time as we needed to see and then choose our selection. While here she also showed us the backsplash options too. We went to the MSI Dulles facility and discovered that the granite that we had selected was not available (all the slabs were reserved). The associate looked up the stock at the Baltimore location and found that there were slabs available. The next day we drove up to the Baltimore facility and they were extremely helpful. We waited while they brought out the slabs that were available from back in the warehouse and they were just what we were looking for. They filled out a selection form for us and we were out the door in less than 20 minutes. read more

If The Three Stooges ran a tile showroom. Don't come here to look or get a tile sample. Selection choice on display is terrible. Samples not available. Sections not organized by type and signs. The tile I came to look at was not in computer. The keywords I used at Home Depot site did not work on their system. They argued if from another company and if came in a kit. Had to browse on smartphone to show them sold at Home Depot. They make you enter info in a computer form. He told me to go look while he finished filling it out? I came back to figure out what he was entering in my name and submitting. read more

I drove over half an hour to pick our granite for our new kitchen. An employee walked outside after I got my kids on their stroller and told me I couldn't enter without an appointment. I told her the website says appointment only on Saturday. She then said I couldn't come in with my children - even though they each had masks and would be in their stroller the entire time. She was abrasive and rude. MSI will not see a dime of my money. The website does not state anywhere that children are prohibited, and only indicates appointments are required on Saturday. I can only assume I was denied entry due to my appearance. Good job MSI. read more

When I arrived at the main entrance, staff member requested I sign in at the kiosk. Once I completed the necessary data - about 5 minutes to enter my personal data, it took almost 25 minutes before someone noticed me waiting that I hadn't been helped. Even though there were at least 4 or 5 representatives sitting behind the service desk - knew I was walking and standing around... I have no ideal why I was not helped sooner, especially during that time of day, just one other customer before me. Thankfully a gentleman who came from the granite storage area notice me waiting kindly asked if I had been helped. Even though the customer service is very poor and bathrooms need attending, the showroom and the quantity and selection is excellent. read more

I would not use this granite provider. They swapped my granite slabs and also do business with fraudulent contractors. Very disappointing and difficult to deal with. There are far too many other granite suppliers in the area that are far more deserving of one's business. This company does not care about it's customers at all. We've been to MSI twice this week for viewing and selection of a quartz slab for our bathroom countertop. The self sign-in process was straight forward. The representatives in the showroom and those working in the back warehouse (where the slabs are kept) were available as soon as we signed in and were very attentive to our needs. We were in and out in about an hour. We rated 5 stars for the overall experience at MSI. read more

If you're going to get help with anything other than granite, save yourself the trip. I knew walking in the door that they don't sell to the public, but had thought at least they would be able to talk to me about their products for a very large tiling job that I am taking on. I was completely ignored by the staff as I looked through their flooring samples and when I asked for advice on their products and where to buy them, the staff person at the front said to go to any strip mall with a store that sells tile. After this experience I'll go with another tile manufacturer for my 1,500 sf job. read more

I love their facility had over 150 options of granite. Jody was super nice and helping us get situated. You must wear a hardhat when you walk inside........well that was what I experienced when I saw the place.But it was a night after that. Not only was my first choice scratched and had to be return to MS International. Oh it gets a lot worse after choice our next choice be late already the one we finally choose because we can't see on site. We had to rely on pictures. LOL the next one was cracked, we were better off taking scratched granite. Seriously this is really really bad because we had to rely on the installer to help because this place sucks. read more

We have purchased granite at MSI International at least three times. On each occasion the staff have been attentive and the granite selection awesome. In one home, we installed granite in three rooms a kitchen and two bathrooms. We subsequentlly sold the home, where the granite in the kitchen was the showcase. In our private residence, we just purchased granite for two remodeled bathrooms. We live in Maryland and find that it's worth the trip. Sky was our sales person, who by the way recognized us from a previous visit and could recall our order without looking up the selection, very attentive. They are always our first choice, we are never dissapointed. read more

We went to MSI to look at granite slabs for our kitchen. When we got there, our appointment we made was not on the calendar. The girl took us to the slab that we picked out at Home Depot. I mentioned a brown/rust spot on the slab. She said that was in the stone. We looked around for a while and ended up coming back to the slab we originally liked. We asked if they could move the slab so we could see the one behind it. The girl said, they are all going to look the same. Ok but want to see it. So the guy came moved the slab so we could see the one behind, and walked away. The new slab was very different. It was darker in color and the brown spot was not there. Well we need two so can we see the next slab. She says they are going to look the same. Ok well we want to see it. So they had to go find the guy to move the slab again. We pick these two slabs but the eye rolls and attitude didn't need to happen. read more
