Before pic of island
Kristen R.

We ended up changing our minds and landed on a gorgeous slab of quartzite from Italy. Someone from Neka came out to the house to measure, we confirmed the size and within 10 days our kitchen was transformed. The change is so stunning that I'm speechless!! I can't believe how perfect this color combo is (dark in the back and the lighter quartzite on the island and valet). My hubby is still doing a lot of trim work in the kitchen - but seriously this turned out better than I ever could have imagined! Pics attached (I'll post more when everything is done). The price was far better than the competitors (at least the ones we looked into), Berkan made the process so easy and pleasant, everything moved super quickly and oooo yeah driving around on a golf cart picking our stone for our kitchen was pretty cool too! I couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend this company (and Berkan)!!

Uneven all along the wall

We had silestone quartz countertops and a new double sink installed last December 2016 in preparation to put our house up for sale. The previous counters were the builder-grade laminate counters that were actually in great shape. If we had stayed in the house, I'd honestly have kept them, but for selling, it's granite, quartz or terrazzo, so we went with quartz, as I can't stand the maintenance granite requires and terrazzo was apparently too weird for our agent. But I digress... The showroom at Neka is spectacular, with fantastic choices in many price ranges. Berkan, the salesperson, was very nice and explained our options in detail. We also got what we thought was a great quote, though we later found out he'd left out the backsplash. In the end, it was only about $60 more than the cheaper vendor who didn't have as many choices and tried to upsell us quite a bit. So, we set a date for the install. Here's where things weren't as great as we'd hoped. Rules of thumb for customers: 1) READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS (T&C) IN FULL AND UNDERSTAND THEM. I can't emphasize this enough. I've attached a copy of ours. If you can't accept the terms, go elsewhere. Seriously. 2) Even though the T&C says balance due upon installation, Berkan demanded the balance 1-2 days before the installation. We couldn't get clarity as to why, but ultimately agreed to pay it since we needed the work done and had already paid a 1/3 deposit. 3) Determine ahead of time if your counters/backsplash wall is 'plumbed' (I hope I'm saying this correctly), and if it isn't, have a carpenter at the house with you to either fix as you go, or remove the backsplash and plumb the wall before the installers arrive. 4) If you don't know how to dis/reconnect plumbing for a sink, make sure you have a plumber there at the time of install This is what happened to us: Our original counters were perfectly flush against the walls, no uneven spots as far as we could tell for 22 years. On the install day, my husband disconnected the sink plumbing and pulled out the fridge and range (though not disconnecting them) as required. He was then teleworking in the other room, so was not monitoring Neka's work. The installers took out the counter and sink as ordered, and then put in the new sink, counters and backsplash. This took a few hours at most. They then called my husband in to view it and sign off on their work order. My husband later admitted he was on a conference call at the time and did not give it the attention he should have, except to ask why the installers didn't put the new faucet in. They reminded him they don't do plumbing, and he said okay and they left. Letting them leave was our fault, no question. I get home later and start looking at it while husband is installing the new faucet. I notice right away that the backsplash is not flush with the wall or the back of the counter, and that I can actually put my index finger in between the backsplash and the wall along the closest (and most noticeable) edge. We realize the backsplash is totally uneven all the way along the sink wall. On the other walls, it looked good, so we figured over the years the wall must have gotten some water damage and warped a bit. Remember our previous backsplash was perfectly flush so we had no idea this was going to be a problem. I called Berkan to ask why the installers didn't say anything to my husband at the time of the install--why did they just put the backsplash in like that and leave? Berkan was nice enough but reminded me of the T&C that they don't do plumbing or carpentry, and that it was our responsibility for ensuring the wall was plumb. Okay, I get this, though I guess neither of us REALLY got it until faced with this reality. So then I asked again: "It was obvious that the wall was uneven. Why didn't they give him a heads up so that he could try to fix the problem, or ask them to come back?" Berkan just kept saying they don't do carpentry, and then reminded me my husband signed off on their work. So, I appealed to his better and professional nature, and he agreed to have the installers come back to remove the backsplash for us so that we could fix the wall and have them reinstall it. No charge for the removal, but a $250 visit charge to reinstall it. We reluctantly agreed, though when they only took about 45 second to remove the backsplash, we changed our minds on having them back. So, it turns out the wall was pretty badly warped, and that the original builders had left some gaping holes behind the original backsplash for reasons we'll never know. So, after about a week of filling, spackling and drying, we finally had it even and ready for the backsplash to be put back on. Hubby found some instructions online about how to glue it on, and just did it himself in 5 min, saving the $250 reinstall fee. So, after some consideration, I'm giving Neka 3 stars--4 for the beautiful result, and 1.5-2 for the actual process and lack of common sense on Neka's end.

All showcase quality IMO. Thus, we've plenty of recent experience with KBS outfit and feel confident in making the highest recommendation. In summary - KBS is not too big nor too small, not too expensive but not cheap, so they were just right for us - average homeowners who seek the very best value. In this regard, KBS was just right. Some highlights........ 1) The crew is experienced and cohesive. They've been together for a good long time. They work well together and we never observed inefficiency. They just work hard all day long. 2) I never had to worry about workers in our home. Honest, polite, professional, kind, and responsive are words I'd use to describe them. 3) Communications were timely and valuable. My advice is to take notes of every communication for reference. In one case we forgot it was our responsibility to acquire an appliance. Uh oh, it was our fault and a written record would have been useful to refer to. Yikes! 4) The budget estimates were honored. there was no bait and switch. Prices were transparent to us. 5) We enjoyed reviewing recommended selections of cabinets, floor, hardware, appliances, sinks etc. Today, we feel somewhat knowledgeable with KBS as our tutors. 6) Cleanup and construction debris was timely. Thanks! 7) The crew was OK with our two dogs. I think our doggies missed them when the jobs were done. Final note: The sign of a great contractor is NOT that nothing goes wrong. Rather it is how the contractor responds when something does go wrong. In this regard, KBS took care of problems I was not even aware of, and when I was, they swarmed to make it right ASAP. For example, a quartz kitchen countertop cracked. Surprised. The piece was faulty. The crack was not due to poor installation. We only had to make one call to Dan who took care of it. Easy peasy. No hassles or haggles about responsibility or cost. Perfect. I've a few more impressive examples. So the more work we observed, the more confident we became in KBS. In my life "trust" is earned and hard to achieve in the contracting world. So, it is with pleasure to say KBS was trusted. We'd hire them again whenever we have a future need. Simply excellent!

This was a big project and from the moment we met with Dan, we knew we wanted to work with him. He helped us redesign our first floor (including kitchen and bathroom), meeting with us multiple times to come up with a design that worked for our needs. He helped us figure out what materials and design elements worked for our home, really going above and beyond to help us make a lot of decisions. His experience meant that he was able to take our vision of what we wanted our home to be and turn it into reality. The actual project itself could not have gone better. The crew was phenomenal. Their attention to detail and quality of work was exquisite. We did not run into a single issue for this entire project and the final result massively exceeded our expectations. AND it finished ahead of schedule! We HIGHLY recommend The Kitchen and Bath Studio. Dan and his crew were wonderful to work with and the quality of their work is exceptional.

We remodeled three bathrooms the previous year with another company, which had a lower estimate than WellCraft. Throughout the project, they listened and gave sound advice. Any remodel is disruptive, but WellCraft made the process as painless as possible. They were also flexible, and respectful of our time and privacy. Ali made creative suggestions on design, and brothers Jose and Steve executed with a high degree of skill and craftmanship. I especially note Jose's work ethic--it was amazing what one man could accomplish in a day.

She did a very good job at bringing my vision of the bathroom into life while also recommending materials that would best compliment each other. As far as the actual construction, they worked in a very timely manner, and completed the work within the deadline I provided. All of the construction details were thoroughly looked over throughout the entire process. The tile work is beautiful and makes everything look so clean! Overall, I am absolutely in love with our new bathroom, it really makes our house pop and I enjoy using it everyday. Highly recommend this company for your next bathroom renovation!

We walked in to see what they carried, it's been a while since i went appliance shopping and I almost walked out with a new washer/dryer set. Sami and his colleagues were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the appliances. I naturally gravitated towards the newer ones with all the bells and whistles. They sell a washer/dryer in one...I knew these existed, but it was nice seeing it up front. They are having a grand opening sales and gift card rebates until the ~25th of August. One thing to note is that they do charge for the accessories, which is essentially covered by the gift card rebates and instant sales. Anyone in the market for new appliances should definitely check out this store and take advantage of the sales and gift cards. There is plenty of parking available in front of the store, also shared by neighboring stores.

Absolute Negligence, Property Damage, and Zero Accountability!!! I am not one to post negative…read morereviews ever and always try to resolve any issues with the business directly. This experience has honestly been the worst experience I have had with a business so I feel I need to share with other consumers. We purchased all new kitchen appliances from Bray & Scarff and spent approximately $8,500. From the very beginning, this experience has been a nightmare. Nearly every appliance delivered was damaged, forcing us to reject multiple deliveries and wait for replacements. This alone caused weeks of disruption and frustration. The worst issue, however, was the complete incompetence of their installer. When installing our new refrigerator, the installer failed to properly connect the water line, causing an active leak that went unnoticed for 2-3 weeks. By the time we discovered it, significant damage had already occurred to our home. Bray & Scarff sent someone to inspect the damage and acknowledged the issue, stating they would submit a claim to their insurance carrier, Travelers. That is where the accountability ended. Travelers has been unresponsive, dismissive, and obstructive. Phone calls go unanswered, and we are repeatedly told to file a claim with our own homeowners insurance instead -- despite this damage being caused by Bray & Scarff's installer. This would unfairly raise our insurance premiums and shift responsibility away from the party that caused the damage. The combination of damaged products, negligent installation, property damage, and insurance runaround is unacceptable. We trusted Bray & Scarff with a major home purchase and were met with carelessness and refusal to take responsibility when it mattered most. If you value your home, your time, or your peace of mind, do not use Bray & Scarff. We are now exploring formal complaints and legal options.

Here's the problem with Bray and Scarf. Good luck with anyone picking up the phone at the service department. If they do answer they are less than helpful. I called the store several times in Sterling and asked for the manager to call me. Still has not called. They take no ownership in their products they sell. I think Bray and Scarf used to have a good reputation years ago. But that's clearly over. I will never buy anything from this company again. Sadly you get better service at the big box chains. Update: The repair technician came to my house, and the parts he brought did not fix the machine. GE advises ordering additional parts. I called Centricity, the warranty company (All warranty claims go here). They told me that Bray and Scarf have not yet sent them the request for repairs. This is 4 days later. Additionally, the technician informed us that Bray and Sacrf do not determine when they reach a decision on whether the machine is unrepairable. However, Centricity told me that it is the technician from Bray and Scarf who makes that determination. So clearly, no one wants to accept any responsibility So, I called the service department, and again, I could not get through to anyone. Waited on hold several times, then was disconnected. So I called the corporate number, and the receptionist told me that they are "checking the lines." I assume she meant there is a technical issue.
