I want to take a moment to recognize Brandi Cockerill at Granite & Marble Express. My overall kitchen remodel has been extremely stressful (mainly due to cabinet delays, not countertops), and by the time I reached the countertop stage, I was beyond frustrated. Brandi completely changed that experience for me. She has been professional, patient, and incredibly kind every step of the way. Whenever I have questions, she goes above and beyond to explain things clearly and make sure I feel confident about the process. She has a way of calming the stress and making everything smooth and manageable, which I appreciate more than I can say. My wife and I recently renovated two bathrooms. Our contractor suggested we visit Granite & Marble Express in Chantilly for our countertop needs. It turned out to be an excellent referral. First impressions are lasting, and we were quickly impressed with GME's showroom and selections. The team at GME was impressive to work with, including Edgar (renovation designer) and Uriel (installation). We couldn't be happier with our new countertops! Uriel and his team were skilled craftsmen who clearly took pride in their work. Every detail was handled with care, and the finished product looks fantastic. Beyond the quality of workmanship, Uriel was also personable, professional, and easy to work with, making the entire process stress-free from start to finish. We highly recommend GME to anyone looking for top-notch craftsmanship (product and installation!) paired with excellent customer service. There is no better recommendation than repeat business, so we're already planning our kitchen renovation later this year, which will include GME, Edgar and Uriel! read more

Simply frustrated. The on-site Lowes rep "B.C." was routinely argumentative, aloof, and at times unprofessional. Then, would abruptly change tone and be overwhelmingly courteous. It got so awkward that we eventually went to email to ensure all the representative was saying was documented. We repeatedly contacted Lowes (who was the prime contractor) to voice our concerns. After three completely different countertop measurements and 5 weeks wasted in delays resulting, they sent installers that spoke broken english. They drilled a hole into our sink basin that was not aligned with the hole in the countertop. The installer said, "I'm going to need you to assume this liability if I get the hole wrong". Otherwise, the stone quality itself was as expected, but the service was simply poor to average at best. I can't recommend unfortunately. read more

I attempted to contact the owner of G&ME prior to posting this review but my emails weren't responded to. Below are a list of issues we encountered, over the last five months, with G&ME: 1. Wrong Quartz When we originally submitted our countertop estimate, through the Lowe's IME department, we requested Calacatta Classic Quartz but when we received our first countertop diagram the quartz was listed as Eternal Bella. This wouldn't be an issue if, when we requested a correction, G&ME didn't decide to increase the price of the quartz even though the two were identically priced on the IME website. In conjunction with this, Lowe's offered to honor the discounted price G&ME was advertising ($70.00 a sq/ft) but G&ME refused to honor the discount because we paid our deposit roughly a week before the sale started--on that note, we worked with Lowe's and they provided an acceptable solution since G&ME "refused" to honor the discount. "Refused" is the word they used to me when I spoke to them on the phone. 2. Incorrect Quartz Price As stated above, our original quartz price was listed at $100.00 per sq/ft (the discount was $70.00 per sq/ft) but when we asked for the correction [of the quartz type] the price increased to $126 per sq/ft. As of now, no one is willing to correct the price or provide an explanation as to the price increase even though I have screen shots of both quartz listed at the same price. 3. Lack of Communication We were not told the dishwasher needed to be in place when the countertops were installed and the installers did not mention it when they were here. Because of this, they did not install the dishwasher mounts. FYI, the dishwasher was sitting in the living room when the countertop team was here, they just neglected to mention I needed to put the dishwasher in place, which is something I would have done if asked. In conjunction with this, we had the installers come back out to install the dishwasher mounts, only to be told we needed additional hardware we didn't know we needed, and therefore the installer could not install the mounts. In the end, we had our cabinet team install the dishwasher using a method that did not require the mounts--G&ME is currently still charging us for the mounts. We were not told the microwave needed to be installed for the backsplash measurement to be complete. Because of this, we had to have a second measurement done which delayed our installation by more than two weeks. As a consolation, G&ME did not charge us for this second measurement though they originally said it was going to cost us roughly $200. 4. Unprofessional Employee Conduct Let me start by saying that our PoC with G&ME (Roya Z.) has done an outstanding job with what has been a less than perfect experience for us. On the other hand, her manager (Danielle D.) was extremely unprofessional and unwilling to assist us in any way. Not only that, but she raised her voice and argued with me when I contacted her to discuss the dishwasher mount issue. Yes, I raised my voice after she did but only as a response to being treated so poorly. I can honestly say that I have never been treated so poorly by a manager of a company before. 5. Submitted Completion Paperwork to Lowe's Before the Project Was Complete Over a month ago, G&ME submitted notification to Lowe's that our project was complete, prompting Lowe's to request final payment even though we still didn't have our backsplash measured, much less installed. Lowe's was willing to work with us to delay payment, but this resulted in daily calls requesting payment before we were able to get the issues worked out. 6. Questionable Payment Practices At the beginning of the project, we were given an estimated cost for the countertop/backsplash installation. As it turns out the cost appears that it should be lower than estimated so I requested a change order be submitted to adjust the cost. Instead, I was told that we have to pay the full price of the estimate and Lowe's will refund the difference. Because of this, I reached out to IME and was informed that this is not the accepted process and G&ME should provide a change order. IME reached out to G&ME several times over a two-week period and were told the change order would be submitted; we still have not received the change order. All-in-all, our experience with G&ME can be described as nothing more than a complete nightmare. Because of them, we have been cooking on a hotplate since early November and have been subjected to more stress than I can ever wish on anyone. One day, hopefully, this remodel project will be complete, and we can put this horrible experience behind us but, in the meantime, if you have a kitchen/countertop project you are looking to complete I recommend reviewing your options very very carefully. read more

Avoid this place if not definitely avoid salesman named Masoud Taherzadeh. I went there a couple of weeks ago and talked to guy named Mo (nice guy to talk to, accommodated us well even we were looking for Remnants for a medium to small project). A week later I went there to finalize the price for the piece I had selected. This guy (Masoud) tried to hustle me with some ridiculous price saying there is no difference in price of new slab and remnants...when their website clearly states otherwise. Please read. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Impossible to get a hold of, unprofessional, and incredibly hard to nail down to get a date to even just measure your countertops--absolutely impossible to schedule an installation. Two months after paying in full, we still couldn't get an appointment for an installation. When we finally did get an installation date, it was cancelled the morning of--only after we emailed them several times to see when they were coming, the day before and the morning of--to say they didn't finish the layout so they had to cancel. Horrible company. Unprofessional service. Best case scenario: They're incompetent. Worst case: They're running some kind of scam. I have no problem with Granite and Marble Express' countertop, but I am very disappointed in their customer service and accountability. After 7 attempts (5 phone calls and 2 emails) to reach someone about a shoddy and leaky plumbing job completed by one of their subcontractors, I received no responses or replies. In order to use my sink and dishwasher, without causing more damage to my new cabinets, I had to take matters into my own hands. I did not choose this company as they were subcontracted by Home Depot, but I would not recommend them to anyone who has the choice. Edit in response to reply: To be clear, I spoke to someone each time I called. Each time I called, I was forwarded to different people and told someone would reach out "soon" to schedule the plumber. My wife has wanted granite countertops in our kitchen for many years. This year was the year! From the man who did the measurements, to the install team, and finally the plumber who reconnected the sink and gas cooktop, everyone was professional at their jobs. Granite & Marble Express allowed us to come to their facility and approve the granite slab from which they cut our countertops. They did the install and we could not be happier with the results. I gave this company the opportunity to correct the problem prior to placing this rating on Yelp and other sites. The Sale Manager (Danielle) just simply ignored my calls, voicemail meassages, and texts. Danielle stated she would have another technician to come out to review my kitchen countertop, she never scheduled the technician to come. The Installer cut the stone like a puzzle around the sink area, see pictures below. The sealer around the sink has peeled, resealed by the company, and peeled a month later due to the jigsaw cut around the sink area. The stone needs to be replaced. This company is a subcontractor for Lowe's and Home Depot, please review your options before selecting this company. I used several companies to install stone/granite in the past none of the companies cut around the sink like Granite & Marble Express. This company MUST do not care their reputation/ratings, customers, and quality of their work products. A zero rating awful work. We got our countertops through Home Depot. These guys came to install. The installer was courteous but we noticed that the quartz we ordered had damaged spots in multiple areas. We made the guy aware and he took pictures. He said that someone else will come and take a look. I followed up with this company multiple times and then another guy showed up, took pictures and said they'll be in touch. They went silent again. I called them and left messages and voicemail. No response. I called Home Depot and they said that these guys need to fix it for me and that they will follow up. Nothing happened there as well. HD service is pathetic as well. Very shady company! Do not come here! Customer service is absolutely horrible, unprofessional and unresponsive. The contractors they hire are shady and rude. When the contractors came to install, they were very rude. The installer would not answer any questions, made sarcastic remarks to me and refused to install my existing faucet and handles. I had told the company that I did not wish to replace my faucet, however, the installer refused to cut the holes in the granite that would fit my faucet and handles. He provided no reason, just simply refused to do it and told me to go buy a new faucet. I bought a new faucet, came home, and then he told me it was the wrong one and go out and buy another. I did, came home, still refused to install it since the faucet did not have a pull down hose. He didn't explain why it needed a pull down hose, but simply refused to do it. Later in the night, I realized that my cabinet in my bedroom closet was opened and papers thrown on the floor. This cabinet does not open on its own. I suspect the installers kept making me leave the house as they roamed around my house unattended. I wrote a letter and called the company but they did not respond to anything. On top of this I was told I would have a 15 year warranty, and the installers would bring the paperwork. They didn't. I called the company, they said they would email it. They never did. This was 2 weeks ago. Since then nobody has answered the phone, responded to voicemails or emails. Absolutely ridiculous. My only option now is to go to the BBB! read more

First the good: their price is reasonable, and their installation crew is professional and fast The bad: The installation was late. Really late. First, it was delayed by 4 days even though the measurements were taken well in advance. Then on the day of, the crew was 5 hours late. The owner said it was because they couldn't finish cutting the stone the day before, even though they had a WEEK to cut it. UPDATE: 2 weeks after the owners message below and 12 days after assuring me and HD that both countertops would be replaced, their Project Manager began employing the illogical to explain why my custom countertops must have only 90 angles despite my custom contract. Just no integrity at all and no sense of accountability, as they would rather make illogical statements and contradict themselves constantly as if not easily provable. HD refunded money for two (2) tops after they ignored my demand letter. ORIGINAL: Hands down, an extremely disappointing experience provided I contracted with HD to avoid issues. This company: 1) quoted pricing ($150) via email for an add'l required trip for an appt 4 wks later then submitted a higher charge to HD ($200); 2) attempted to charge me for 3 trips at $200 per despite only coming to my home twice, 1 of which was included in my original purchase; 2) attempted to run my price by ~$700 and blatantly refused to justify the addition (took 3 wks, 3 HD managers and a HD District Service Manager to force removal of the charges; 4) added an invalid marking to my second template after I did the general approval (not measurements) that called out difficult installation (although all rectangular and no seams), long walkway (in TH so doesn't exist), difficult access (in TH with 1 flight of stairs so doesn't exist), and oversized pieces (live in TH that will not accomodate oversized items, all pieces easily cut from Silestone standard format slab so doesn't apply); 5) included charges for services and products that I never requested and explicitly rejected multiple times (we actually did over 1 yr ago); 6) asserted that they (Danielle) had already waived "a lot" for me which was not true when charges were bogus and still did not provide rationale; 7) assured in-person (Maz) on 27 Sep 18 that their countertops are indeed custom cut and will be cut on a slant despite a note on the drawing indicating that tile "will be used" as if I stated that was the intent to cover gaps behind a countertop edge and walls or adjacent cabinet items (in my case a flat refrigerator panel); 8) cut two (2) pieces of countertop incorrectly...one without regard for the slanted nature of the wall...a wall that was actually not called out to me in either of my two (2) template appts, on drawings, or via any other means as being an issue or non-flush before the install appt and after the countertop was already glued in-place...leaving a gap that cannot be hidden by tile, so essentially they expect that my glass tile edge will be plumb vertically and flush with the slanted wall appearance-wise at the corner where the countertop is supposed to sit but doesn't completely then a vertical gap and then the countertop corner (so a noticeable gap "sandwiched" between vertical tile edge and the vertical countertop edge) that is actually cut to curve away from the corner rather than snugly fitting against it. With regard to curving away from the boundary that it should fit snugly against to it's left and on the front exposed edge, the same is true of a roughly 26"x21" countertop that should sit snugly against my perfectly flat 2'x8' refrigerator panel but does not on the front edge; 10) cut bar countertop at wrong dimensions on one (1) side that supposed to touch wall given the slant that should be present was/is not and despite assurances received from Maz in-person on 27 Sep 18 that they have precision equipment that allows for slants; 11) Installers (who were very nice but spoke and understood very little English making it difficult for them to understand my assertions and for me to understand their intent) cut my drywall to recess countertop despite the fact that I explicitly said in-person to Maz and via email that I did not want anyone cutting my wall which they clearly failed to convey to the installer; 12) Fred outright refuses to be accountable and instead chose to minimize the sloppy appearance of the bar and amateur appearance of the odd left corner cuts both on the bar and smaller base cabinet creating no way to hide either; 13) The bar top violates the overhang specified (1.5") in their drawing given they chose shortcuts, mis-measured, failed to slant contradicting their assertions, and ignored my assertion that cutting my wall was not permitted and recessing any of my countertops was not permitted; 14) They don't bother to answer calls in a reasonable amount of time even if they literally just phoned you (and you missed their call); 15) They (manager) are generally not welcoming to HD customers being in their showroom (I was advised that I should not be there to question notes and price run despite them having a contract to provide a product (countertops) and service (sink install) on behalf of HD). read more

I never review anything. Good or bad. But my experience here was so awful that I just had to let people know about it. First off, when I got there the Sales Manager (John) acted like he didn't even really want to help me. Normally this is red flag enough for me to not deal with them. But they are very convenient for me so I stuck it out. Eventually, I found the slab of silestone I wanted and got a quote. I said that I would take it right then and there. I emailed John with the exact dimensions I needed the slab cut. I got no response. I several days later I called to follow up and he told me he needed me to send him measurements even though the measurements were already in the email I sent him. Clearly he didn't even bother to read my initial email. So I obliged and sent them again anyway. Once again, no response. I called and left a message. Nothing. So I took my business elsewhere even though the price is a slight bit more for the same stone. Someone else will also get my business for the rest of my remodeling project. read more

We had a difficult job as we wanted to change the dark stone in the galley of our boat (Fleming 55') to a light cream with veining. We chose the man-made "Dekton". The removal was a challenge as we had teak trim that we wanted to keep and a glued on cooktop. Granite & Marble Express did it beautifully and although there were some delays, the new stone was installed just before the freezing weather and it looks beautiful! Our boat is now winterized and all is well. I really appreciate all the hard work by the men that worked on this job. read more

My experience with this company came about from purchasing my countertops through Home Depot. There seems to be a lot of people involved in the process from measuring to installation. Scheduling each was not an easy process and disconnected. After having a gentleman from this company come and professionally measure the kitchen, the installers arrived and were not able to complete installation due to an error in the measurement. This delayed the installation and I incurred expenses in moving electrical outlet. When I spoke with Ryan from this company there was no accountability or apologies made. The answer was to go back to Home Depot. Buyer Beware. Neither the manager Nelson or the owner "Mr Ali" were willing to take my calls. read more

Contracted this company through Lowes to install Silestone countertops. From the start all phases were on time and done very well. The man who measured used equipment that gave very precise measurements and was definitely experienced. He made suggestions to improve the look of the work we and we took his advice. Good move on our part. Their installers were on time and all pieces fit perfectly. We had one seam and if you were unaware there is no way to see the seam when finished. These men did the little finishing installation work to make everything so nice.
