Mosaic was a great find and recommended to me by my contractor. I checked it out on Yelp first and due to the great reviews, decided to try it out myself. I've done a bathroom remodel before without the help of anyone at Mosaic before this one and now after getting the help of a design professional I'd never want to do without it again! My appointment with Cameron went very well. We definitely needed the full 1.5 hours to go over my preferences, look at images I brought in and pick out tile and then take down specs for estimates. Cameron's tile suggestions seemed be very inline with my own preferences. Plus, I was able to walk around and pick out many attractive tile choices to choose from. Mosaic also has a very large building with quite a few model upscale bathrooms set up to walk around and take a look at to help spark design ideas. Later the same day as my tile consultation, Cameron emailed me her very detailed and accurate architectural drawings of my bathroom showing everything I described to her for the remodel including the tiles, vanity, tub, etc. and contacted my general contractor directly as well. I was very impressed and pleased--considering this was all a free service to customers! I was also able to take home my tile samples to look it all over later in my house. The tile was not cheap of course. I have a relatively small bathroom in my townhouse but it still amounted to well over $2k worth of tile! I know I have expensive tastes but I was hoping my contractor would be able to get me more of a discount! Well, I may have to scale back the amount of tile I'm using and/or hold off on the project to save up more meanwhile but I know exactly what tile I want to go with now! read more

Mosaic Tiles is easy to work with and provides excellent customer service and knowledgeable support. I was overwhelmed with choices, but their designer easily managed my kitchen tile project,, and the installer they recommended remains the best vendor that has been used on any of my projects in the last 5 years. I also recently had issues with my builder's installed primary shower. I stopped into their Chantilly location and was given much help and advice on what might be done (aside from a full demo). Their value is in their expertise, and whilst the upfront cost may cost more-it is worth it to avoid more frequent headaches. My friend and I dropped in with no appointment the day before the holiday. Initially, the large selection was overwhelming. Fortunately an employee asked if we needed help and connected us with a designer. We were very lucky to have Erin R. help us. Despite the location being short staffed, she never seemed rushed. She took the time we needed to understand the possibilities and come to a decision that we were really happy with. I really liked that she had an idea of what would work but did not force it on us - just simply explained the reasoning so that we had the information. This past year I began a project to renovate two of my bathrooms. These projects were not simple replacement projects as they involved moving walls and changing the overall layout of the bathrooms. My family has always used Mosaic Tile so it was the logical first place for me to check. I had a rough idea of the look I was going for, however, I had no real how to make that a reality. I had my first appointment with Erin Reaves, and she was amazing! I had shared the photos and my high-level design ideas prior to arriving for my appointment. Mosaic Tile Co. just moved to this brand new location a couple of weekends ago. I had gone to their previous location - a couple of days before their move. I looked at a lot of tile and decided I wanted them to order some samples for me so I could look at them in my kitchen and make sure the colors work with my color scheme. They ordered the tiles for me - no charge for the tiles - which is in stark contrast to The Tile Shop in Manassas, VA - which insisted on charging me for the sample tiles. This place is gorgeous! They have tons of mini kitchen and bathroom areas tiled up as examples to give one some ideas as to how things would look. And of course way more samples of tiles, listello, and other accent pieces. After a 30 minute drive to this stunning showroom in Chantilly on 10/26, I was told "we don't do countertops" by the woman at the desk in the back. I was not greeted when I walked in and had to wander around to figure out where to go to get help. Gorgeous store and endless choices but after I asked her two times about looking at the granite and being told "we don't do countertops" in a very dismissive tone, I was apoplectic and retreated to my car. No questions, no interest in my job or my needs and I wasn't about to ask 3 times. There was no offer to give me advice as to where else I could shop for my bathroom reno because she did not ask me one single question. I googled 'granite near me' when I got back to my car and found Virginia Marble and Granite a few doors down. The saleswoman there was interested in my needs and was very helpful and service oriented. Who do you think will get my business? A few minutes of someone's time might not have resulted in my extreme disappointment with this business. read more

My contractor is doing a major renovation and addition for my little home in Old Town.. I was recommended to Mosaic Tile by my kitchen designer, who will get a review shortly because she is nothing short of spectacular!! Mosaic Tile delivered. My kitchen designer recommended Ana Bowyer. Appointment was set. She is so talented, creative and listened to my goals: stay within budget. The beautiful tile choices are overwhelming and you want everything! Ana asked lots of questions about my style (I don't know if I even have a style but I soon learned what I didn't like!) and the way I lived. She skillfully put together these designs with tile/glass/grout which complemented my vanities and counter tops. The price was great - my contractor gets a 5% discount and that helped. $10K worth of tile sure didn't look like a lot when it was delivered. Thank goodness my house is small !! I am currently working with Laurie Bush there as well. She and the team are SO responsive and respond very quickly as I have had a number of questions. I will continue to recommend Mosaic Tile (and Ana and Laurie) to everyone. It has been a perfect experience. They gave me numerous samples to take home as well - very helpful. We're knee deep in a major backyard project that includes adding a screened porch and a pool. Our heads were swirling a bit when considering all of the decking, tiling, and flooring options. We went into Mosaic and within an hour of working with Tessa (Mosaic Designer), we had coordinated a beautiful set of options that brought the entire project together ... and within budget!!! She was wonderful to work with from start to finish. I visited Mosaic with our kitchen designer to look at backsplash for our kitchen renovation project. They have an absolutely beautiful selection of products and the people who work at the store are very helpful. They are very honest about the pros and cons are various materials and knowledge about their products. We ordered backsplash which arrived on schedule with no issues along the way. If you are only there to browse you can go without an appointment but if you want dedicated one on one time with a sales consultant I'd definitely recommend making an appointment as the place is usually busy. read more

Just a quick update to my review... which remains 2 stars (Which by the way is "Meh. I've experienced better" on the yelp scale.) We ordered our tile and the next day we got a call that the tile we'd chosen was on back order from the supplier and not available for a few months. ARGH. I asked them to check, and I waited for them to check, before I left the place with samples. They told me they needed 2 weeks to get the me tile. I relied on that. They didn't even tell us the day we placed the order that they were on back order. It was the next day, after I'd checked that off my list! They did offer me the alternative - same tile in a larger size (18 in vs 12). Even though it was a reasonable alternative, it's really not what we wanted, so back to the drawing board I went. I found another tile I like better at another tile place, and we have placed the order. We'll see how that goes. Today I actually got a call from the manager with regard to my previous review. First he asked if I found another tile. Clearly he looked to see if my review was legitimate, because my prior review did not indicate I had placed an order or that the tile was on backorder. So he apologized for that, explaining that is just how it is with suppliers. They rely on what the suppliers tell them. I get that. But I also know this: Mosaic gave me bad information... so I went elsewhere to find a replacement tile, I did not give them my business even though they let me down. My message to Mosaics is they should consider doing the same... if their suppliers provide bad information and leave them with egg on their face, and result in lost customers (like me) they might want to look for a new supplier. Just a thought. Then he offered to meet with me and talk with me and try to make me a more satisfied customer. That was nice. I like that he cared. I hope that I have found a tile supplier that is going to be able deliver on what they told me, and now I don't think I will have the need to do business with Mosaic for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, that's the thing... by the time the review is up, the efforts are too little too late. I have encouraged him to focus on the front desk with urgency. Beyond that, my experience was "OK"-"Good", until they couldn't deliver my tile as promised (which the manager says is a rarity). That's when they lost points again. For future customers, I recommend you talk to Richard the manager. I do think he cares what customers think. read more

A well-stocked place. Friendly people THAT ANSWER THE PHONE (yeah!) and know what they're talking about. They may not have everything you might need... but they're going to your best chance at getting exactly what you want. That advantage does come at a price (this place ain't cheap!) but there is so much to look at an consider that you might just want to pony up a bit more cash to get the perfect shade of whatever color - instead of something close. Great selection of tile and showroom is great as well. So we went in and found what we needed from swatches on the showroom floor. Lady was very helpful with us selecting what we needed. Then we ordered the tiles for our backsplash and was told to bring anything back not used and unopened. So when install was done we tried to return the unused and undamaged tile. When trying to return, the store told us we couldn't return it because it was custom ordered. Okay. Custom ordered but they sell it on the floor. So because it isn't in their general stock it is custom apparently. Well would have been nice to know this before hand for I would have ordered minimal and more if needed. Tile Shop took everything back with no questions asked and it was all ordered as well. We were given no information and then bad information. Would recommend making sure to ask all the right questions for anyone shopping there. read more

We completely upgraded our main floor, including tearing down a wall. Joey Olsen did a fantastic job of designing a new kitchen with a massive island, cabinets, and changing the location of some of the appliances. Taking the wall down between the kitchen and dining room opened up our space, and Joey included a cabinet design to tie the two rooms together. He suggested colors, which really pop against the counter top. The wood floors add a certain style that lengthens the kitchen into the den. I highly recommend him for any remodeling, and will be using him again. read more

Over the years he had received exceptional customer service from them for his commercial and residential clients. We are so glad he referred us. We had a great experience with Designers Pia and Ana and installer James on three different projects. Mosaic Tile and Decor has an impressive array of tile in many price points. Ana has worked for them well over a decade. Ana designed, sketched and created a storyboard for our projects with lighting and decor ideas. Pia suggested a dramatic backsplash tile for our winery that always gets great customer comments. James installation from our tiniest fine modern tile backsplash to our rustic old world style flooring was meticulous. Our three projects were very different from midcentury modern to industrial farm style and old world. Ana selected great wall and floor tiles, lighting, the perfect mirrors, for the spot on "look and feel" that fit our budget and commercial durability needs. We have worked with interior designers in the past, but none were better than Ana in design skills paired with their companies products and services. Her storyboard saved us countless headaches and time with our subcontractors and Ron. She was even able to find the perfect pendant lights to pair with our Italian Murano over the top chandelier that I had spent months trying to find.
