Purchased a MSI mobile workstation for my work which is heavy CAD usage and occational 3D rendering. I have used HP and Dell before bit MSI by far outspecs botj. Not to mention the price. The Dell I used b4 costs $6k and doesnt come close to the power and performance of MSI model. I have the msi gt70 wworkstation hooked up to 3 displays in a matrix, one of them being a 4k display. Love the performance and the support is always there for me. MSI did an awesome job with their mobile worksrations. Highly recommend them if you are in CAD/CAM environment. I'm a custom high end contract builder (PCs). I've used virtually every board and card out there for the last 30+ years. I've had issues with every major manufacturer to some degree. None are worse than MSI when it comes to customer service. The last issue is a Z390 motherboard that went dark..no power. I went over it with a fine toothed comb, nothing stood out, nothing showed up on my test suite in my workshop so I contacted them. I got the cookie cutter response on what to check and a request for photos. I tore the system out, took the pictures, absolutely no indication of a short or heat related problem front or back, no bent pins, nothing. Over a month later there's no response from MSI. Prior to this board I installed a GTX 1080 Gaming card, immediately got a whine but then it disappeared...for about 2 months. Then the client called and said it wasn't reading at all, she had to run off the onboard graphics. I contacted MSI, got the EXACT same treatment... cookie cutter email and ZERO follow up. I'm going up the ladder now and will get to the top. They have no business selling their products here without support and there are no excuses. I'll apologize to potential clients up front if they spec anything from MSI, and I'll build them anything else. read more

Update: My machine returned fixed as intended but it did take longer than usual. However, the drop in stars comes from the product. The hinges that lift the screen are made out of a cheap plastic and broke with normal usage. I am disappointed in the external build. Why assemble such a high end device if you're going to house it with inferior parts? Like many of the other reviews, my faith in MSI's product has fallen. No longer are they the answer for value and performance when other brand's have picked up the slack and provide newer and better options today. read more

I sent my son's laptop in for an RMA. My son found that his gaming laptop had a few bright spots just a few days before the expiration day of the USA warranty. I was worried because of the low rating on MSI's service. I did an online registration and called technical support. They handled the case quickly, and I got the RMA number. The next day I sent the laptop to MSI. It took me a few days to send the laptop in and a few days to send it back. Everything was so quick I was even worried if they did not find the problem and sent it back without fixing it. My son was so happy about the new screen which they fully replaced. Although MSI stated it would take 10 to 30 business day to fix the laptop, it maybe took them only a few hours. I give them a 5-star rating because of their quick service, which greatly exceeded my expectations. read more

Absolutely terrible support, I purchased their best at the time GS70 stealth and the keyboard stopped working. This is a major now known issue and their rep the first time had me do useless bandaid updates to try and fix it temporarily. I've now had to open another ticket because the keyboard has almost totally stopped working. Let's see what games they play this time. I'd rate lower if I could. After buying one MSI A6200 and one MSI A6300, I'd love to tell everyone about how horrific MSI products are, along with their customer service and how they "back" their warranties. When my MSI A6200's hinges decided to lock up and snap off after two months of having the system, call after call in an attempt to receive a ticket were ignored until AFTER that warranty was void, which left it pointless for me to send it for repairs to the company once the technical support staff said I'd "probably have to pay for the repairs" myself. Seriously? For a defective product? I was annoyed then, to say the least. So what did I do until I could afford a new one? I had to apoxy the freaking hinges just so that I had a semi-functional DESKTOP computer. Fantastic enough, but my problems with MSI were not over. Fast-forward a year later, I must have been out of my freaking mind when I decided to give them a SECOND chance, figured "Hey, maybe they've improved since last year" and decided to waste my money on the MSI A6300 last August; within a month, the screen went white, and ever since then, their company has been ignoring my requests for a call ticket and/or disconnecting me so that I cannot use the warranty AGAIN, so that THEY would have to pay for THEIR poor products. These guys are awful, in their business practices and their "craftsmanship". I will never, ever buy another product from them again. If they continue their practices the way they are now, they will continue to lose dedicated customers until they burn themselves into the ground. Long story short: WASTE OF MONEY. Warranty dept is crap. Can't get anyone to talk to me higher then the front line desk. The BS excuse I got was that they are taking calls and have 50 in queue. Bunch of BS. Ask for call back and never get one. Email the reps I started working with and useless. My laptop got damaged being returned to me and they are acting like it's my fault with no service. Never again MSI, never again... Great Customer service now a days is hard to come by. read more

Buyers beware. Did not own video card for a year and it went bad. Sent it in to them like they said. They said no replacement parts or upgrades for this item. My husband's old laptop became unreliable. He mostly uses it for school and work, but plays games every now and then too. He was very excited about his MSI purchase, even though he paid a little more than he wanted to. The laptop shipped and arrived quickly, which was great because he deployed shortly after. My husband reminded me to look for the $150 mail-in rebate, because it is apparently a MasterCard credit that will expire after 6 months. He followed up on the rebate while overseas and discovered it was denied. MSI claimed that he did not cut out the bar code, serial number, and product number from the box, but I know he did. In fact, there is a picture of it that MSI scanned when they received his mail-in rebate. He told me multiple times that he could not get a hold of them over the phone. It was frustrating for him because he is in a much different time zone and MSI does not say their business hours when trying to call. When they finally returned his email, they said he sent the wrong bar code, serial number and product number from the box, and that it was too late anyways, because 30 days had past. They will no longer return his emails, and he has given up on calling. Customer service means a great deal to us, and MSI failed at it. I do not recommend purchasing from MSI. read more

My GE62 was the fastest comp I've ever owned and I quite liked it except for not having an external battery and a really noisy mouse clicker. The problem started when the Windows 8 they installed when I sent it in for a broken hardrive under warranty. It came with windows 10 which isn't capable of doing the work I need done and I mentioned this so they suggested W8 because it didn't have the limitations of W10 in terms of length of file names and levels of subfiles. All good until W8 slowed down after a few years and has many probs. A friend suggested I return it to MSI instead of going to a local computer repair store, not easy to find where I live. When I spoke to the secondary repair person, they essentially called me a liar and said they would NEVER change OS's on a repair and i was wrong. I then told them that I needed a reinstall of W8 and could they do it. I was rudely told they were not going to give me a new license. The comp is 2-3 years old and is not under warranty and I never asked them to GIVE me anything having assumed they any repairs would be at my cost. I was getting ready to buy a second, separate purpose laptop from MSI due to the lit keys and speed but I'm buying a different brand which will probably turn out to be a piece of garbage like the ASUS I had. read more

This has been my best RMA so far. My LCD had some dead pixels. After submitting some images, the RMA was approved within hours. I lived relatively close so I dropped off my laptop on Friday before closing time. The staff was very friendly. I checked my RMA status on Monday and it said that it was already shipped. I was so astounded by the speed that I called them to verify that it had in fact been repaired. I had to wait a few minutes but the person who picked up kindly checked and told me that my LCD had indeed been repaired. I got my laptop on Wednesday and was surprised to find out that they did not wipe out my hard drive unnecessarily. I had other experiences with RMAs from other companies where the hard drive was reset to factory state even though the repairs had nothing to do the hard drive. It's possible that mine was a special case, but it appears that the more recent reviews are better. My recommendation is to submit RMA and help requests online if possible. read more

Worst tech company around. Purchased a 1070 ti, two months later the card started artifacting. So I am going threw the rma process and they have had my card for two weeks and haven't even started the process to get me another card. I called them up and no one answered the phone. literally called a few different people from different departments and no one answered, At 3pm on a Tuesday... What kind of company doesn't answer there phone during the work week. I will never buy a motherboard or gpu from msi. Ive been a customer for years and now im pissed. they clearly dont care about customers. just want your money. read more

This is the worst computer company in the entire universe. I regret buying it. The service is way below par. The hardware is below par and gives intermittent problems - these are unforgivable issues - the mouse acts up and 'bounces' everywhere deleting files etc, the video hangs up and does a lovely low vibration noise.. the list goes on. The follow up is pathetic on the part of customer service. Buy a Toshiba would be my HIGHEST recommendation. I tried resolving this issue with MSI despite having a guarantee of service: nothing was resolved - I had to pay a third party to do some basic repairs and even they could not resolve the issues. I ended up buying another brand: Toshiba.. and they are infinitely better. read more

Customer Service is not an understood concept. I sent in my rebate information via USPS certified mail. It went out for delivery and never arrived. I received an automated email saying that the required paper submissions back-up to my electronic submission had not been received. Because the computer was bought via Exotic PC and my Invoice was dated much in advance of the unit's arrival preventing timely submission, I sent a copy of the rebate to MSI customer service at the same time as submission, explaining, asking them to check on it and intercede if required. I received back my correspondence to "customer service" with instructions on where to send the rebate submission. Clearly they did not act upon my request, have no intention of supporting a customer who has followed their procedures in good faith, and do not understand the concept of their role in the Company. read more

Please don't buy from this business unless you are ok with wasting your time and money on terrible customer service, useless warranty, and bad quality products. Within less than a year of buying a gaming laptop from this company the hinges of the screen broke, making it impossible to move the screen so much as half an inch back or forth. The warranty is still valid but not only do you have to ship the item on your own dime, they tell you it might take about a month for it to be fixed. I would still have swallowed both terms to get it repaired but like I said I cannot close the computer. I called in to ask to make sure that I would not be voiding the warranty if I tried to force it shut and I am glad I did because even though I would need to close the laptop to ship it back to make use of the warranty, I would technically be accountable for the damage if I force closed it. Since i cannot close it, unless I want to void the warranty, I can therefore not ship it for repair. I tried to explain and it was like talking to a human robot. No solution, no exception, no understanding. It was my problem, I got to figure it out. The representative I spoke to suggested I drive it over and I live two and a half hours away. That was the most helpful thing he uttered. I considered briefly shipping it open but not only would I need a larger box, increasing thereby the shipping costs, the laptop screen is so fragile I doubt it would make it there without more damage that I would be thus held accountable for. So I am just going to have to fix it in a local repair shop out of pocket or take it apart and sell it for parts. I honestly never dealt with less helpful customer service in my life. You cannot get a word in. All you will get back is the manual recited back to you. Please don't waste your time. read more

It was a day like any other, i wanted to play some graphics intensive games on my overpowered, expensive ($2700) gaming notebook, neigh, desktop replacement computing machine although like a certain consumer, Norris L., the cheap plastic hinges on the damn thing snapped. The screen was exposed and i could no longer close it without the hinge sounding like it was breaking some more and there was visible pressure on the LCD screen. I submit an RMA, hoping at the very least MSi could move the fabled misplaced piece of laptop that can only be described as none other than a design flaw. I transport my open notebook to the City of Industry headquarters, in my own car, and hand to the guy in charge of RMA after all the formalities. I call customer service after about a week seeing as this kind of thing can be fixed in 10 minutes, and after much waiting, they email me with pictures, saying that the screen is broken, and that if i want it fixed, then i'll need to pay around $250 in parts and labor. Seeing as its well under warranty and that the screen wasn't broken (cracked) in the first place, I call up customer service and inform them that they broke it, through some brute force screen slamming in the most barbaric attempt to mend a plastic hinge in the history of technology. We come to the agreement that they'll repair it, under warranty of accidental damage, that may only be used once, however I never broke it accidentally. They did. They essentially blame me or whoever shipped the item (me) for accidentally breaking the screen in shipping (which it wasn't), a flat out lie and the worst and most slanderous account of violence against technology I've ever been accused of. Now I, lacking in one warranty due to customer service negligence, reluctantly agree to let them go ahead and just fix it and let me pick it up from their headquarters once they're done with it so as to avoid any accidental damage done to the machine in transit, to avoid a similar lie previously slung by the CS representative. Needless to say, they wholehearted agreed that the instructions on the RMA specifically state that it will, in fact, be picked up. Now today, I write, after much infuriating customer service hell, on yelp, that I, Mr. Consumer, will be SHIPPED my repaired Notebook, to my residence, against my DEMANDS. MSi displays blatant disregard for the consumers' own will and convenience. Perhaps i will follow up my review with an update, in a state of hysteria, in the event that something goes wrong, something as horrible as missing components of the computer, tomorrow, as the story reaches an end, or yet another anti-climax. DAMN YOU MICROSTAR INTERNATIONAL, DAMN YOUR FAULTY HINGES! YOUR COMPANY'S PRODUCTS REEK OF CHEAP PLASTIC AND DESIGN FLAW! read more
