I did not know it at the time but the pump had failed leading to my CPU (i9 12900k) redline for the subsequent 4 months - by the time it was May, my computer would regularly screen tear during VR, crash during games, and I was at my wit's end. She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain the entire process to me. Since I arrived close to closing time and didn't have an appointment, she let me know they would run diagnostics on my laptop the following day. There's an $89 diagnostic fee, and if repairs are needed, part of the $89 fee can be used towards the cost, which felt reasonable. The next day, Martin called to let me know there was no damage and that he had cleaned the affected keys. He explained that my laptop passed all tests, but the battery was consumed. When I wasn't sure what that meant, he patiently explained and advised that since the battery wasn't swelling and the computer was still performing well, there was no need to replace it unless I noticed issues. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything and didn't try to upsell me. I was able to pick up my laptop later that same day which was less than 24 hours after dropping it off. Hardware diagnostics (*#0*#) showed a 'dbias capsense' error, meaning the sensor was likely misaligned or damaged during the battery install. When I went back, the owner refused a partial refund and instead insisted I leave my phone for several days to 'look under the screen'--a high-risk move I didn't trust after a 'simple' fix already broke my phone. Now I have a new battery but a broken finger sensor. Avoid this place if you need a reliable repair.
