Three, maybe two-and-a-half stars. I went there the other day looking for a new vacuum. I'm ready to buy - as soon as I can figure out what I need and want. And I don't want to buy online if I can avoid it. I was helped, but the help was not very helpful. When looking at expensive appliances, one usually wants the details about performance, capabilities, accessories, maybe some comparisons. I got nothing. And there were very few models on the floor to look at - only two - and none of another maker I was interested in that Mr Vac claims to sell. I felt it was difficult to engage the salesperson and he didn't seem real interested in discussing his merchandise. A request for a business card and/or product information resulted in a pink flyer with glaring typos and a phone number written in Sharpie. I don't need fancy, but I do need competence and engagement, and I felt like I got neither. It's unlikely I'd return to this shop, when I can easily obtain more detailed info on the manufacturers' websites. read more

This shop is amazing, well maintained, organized, clean. Lots of sewing machines and vacuums at good prices. Scott, the owner, is very friendly and knowledgeable. I brought my mom's Dyson in for a tune up. It had been 8 years (we changed states) and the vacuum really needed it. I found this place by accident and my neighbor had used this business many times. Awesome place! After being disappointed with vacuums I bought from Costco, I came here. The rep was so knowable and got me a floor vac (Sebo) that I love! It's so much better than the vacuum I had from Costco (Miele). Plus they have a 10 year warranty and can service the vacuums there. I will come here for all future vacuums as I have not been impressed with Costco's vacuum selection in the past few years. Major plus they also work on sewing machines as well! read more

Scott and Ryan are terrific. Very customer-friendly and very customer- caring people. I brought my 54-year old Singer sewing machine in to them because I had a big sewing job coming up with heavier than normal material. They did a great tune up and the machine breezed through 8 yards of fabric to re-sling 7 outdoor chairs, one chaise lounge and two ottomans. Scott even did some sample sewing with the heavy material I was going to be using when I went to pick the machine up to demonstrate how the machine will do with the fabric. This gave me extra confidence when I brought the machine home to complete my job. I also us them for parts and tune-ups on my Panasonic vertical vacuum. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I'm ashamed that these little snowflakes and I share the same vacuum repair guy. The guy provides a service, gets the job done, and for like half what the other guys charge. I went to this store to buy a vacuum cleaner in September 2020. A white couple that was in there left as soon as I came in and there were no other customers there. There was a younger man behind the counter who did not come to talk to me and did not greet me. I said that I was looking for a Sanitaire, and was told they didn't have any in, couldn't order it, and I should just buy it from Amazon. They say they carry this brand on their website. I asked if they had anything similar, as I would rather support local businesses, and he said no. No attempt to sell me anything. I did not feel welcome, and will never go to this store again. My Brother sewing machine was having a tough time- the tension was all off. I took it to Mr. Vac & Sew where they did a full cleaning and oiling. My machine is now working like new. It takes months to service my vaccums. They warranty vaccums up to 1 year, i had problems on 2 of my vaccums ,and took both vaccums in immediately . They take weeks to fix the problem. I am a business owner and need my vaccums for my business. It is ridiculous and unacceptable how long it takes to service or repair a vaccum. Really disappointed. We had a previous vacuum repair guy, but they shut down a while back, so we decided to give Mr. Vac & Sew a shot. Our carpet cleaner had stopped working, it had absolutely no suction, so we brought it in. Now, at our previous place, we generally saw a 1-3 day turnaround...but here, we were told that it would take a week. When we called after that week, we found out that there was some confusion as to whether or not we wanted the repair, so they never started it. Okay, great. So, another week later, it was ready to be picked up, and when my wife picked it up, she received a good scolding about how much pet hair was in the hoses, which was the problem. I am so glad I found Mr. Vac and Sew. I have noticed a sharp decline in customer service over the last couple decades, This is not the case at this company. These folks are GREAT! We purchased a vacuum from them 10+ years ago and have never had a negative interaction w/ them since. We continually service our vacuum with them and they keep it spinning like a top! We had a challenge w/ the belt alignment and couldn't get the brush spinning & they fixed everything on the spot for free in about :02 (we had a full service less than a year ago). The guy at the store I think he is the owner extremely rude, very unprofessional and a lair! Save yourself the hassle take your business somewhere else. He accused me of stealing my vacuum cleaner I took to him for repairs. Why? Because I refused to argue with him about how I sign MY name on MY copy of store receipt. Insane another customer was in there with her children as he yelled at me saying I was shop-lifting and he was calling the police on me when I walked of the store with the credit card receipt and MY VACUUM. Every single time I have entered the store, even at their busiest times, I have ALWAYS been greeted & helped by their employees right away. And every single time I enter their store, I am given a great deal of help & respect -- even when I open my mouth and show my ignorance about how my vacuum does or does not seem to be working! :-) I recently took my Dyson into the store to be repaired & they thoroughly cleaned & inspected my vac. They charged me the lowest price I have ever been charged to inspect & clean my Dyson. And the work was done right the first time & on time. Their selection of new vacs is incredible & I plan on shopping there for my next vac. They have rock-bottom pricing, beating out any big chain store around -- Costco included. After reading some of the reviews about this place I was hesitant to stop in, but I'm happy I did. I can understand how some of the other reviewers could see how the owner could come across as a little brash, but he is just very straightforward. The biggest thing that surprised me about this place were the prices. I've searched everywhere and this place beats the prices of everyone hands down. He was even willing to order me a model he didn't have on hand at a discount. Eventually I settled on a much better model for only $50 more than the one I went in to buy. Overall it was the best experience I could have asked for and I really appreciated the transparent and direct manner that the owner handles business. I will never step foot in this establishment ever again. I purchased a package of vacuum bags, when I got home I realized I had purchased the wrong size. I returned to the store a day later and Larry "Mr Ego" said there are no returns on vacuum bags. The package was opened but you could clearly see that they had not been used. Mr. Vac and Sew was finally sold to Scott and Ryan. What a breath of fresh air going in now. I took in a Tri Star vacuum and Scott was very nice and considerate when I dropped it off. Picked it up, took to my Mom who wasn't pleased with a number of things, primarily the color of the new cord. Went back in and talked with Ryan who said they will do whatever they can so my Mom is happy. They are probably still just working out some kinks. Definitely recommend them! read more

The repair work is fairly good I have been taking my machine there for years on one exception, the customer service is horrible After dropping my machine off for a service I was told to call after 4 for a repair price a few days later. After calling I was told I would receive a call about my repair price, it made no sense after I was told to call and expect my repair price only to have to receive a call back, from a sarcastic toned manager. I also asked the manager after waiting for my repair price how long it would take to fix my machine.
