Will diagnosed my refrigerator ice maker problem over the phone and provided me a price for the repair. He had a next-day afternoon appointment available and I took it. He could come several hours early as his morning appointment was rescheduled, which I was pleased about. He arrived with the part needed and proceeded to remove, repair, and reinstall the icemaker and was in and out in @30-45 minutes! When that same refrigerator had a different problem 6 months later, he consulted over the phone to help determine if it was worth a service call. He took the time to get the model number of my stove and determine that most of the parts that are needed to be replaced have been discontinued and it didn't make financial sense to service my stove. Having read a boatload of positive reviews for Hazelett Appliance Service, I called Will to troubleshoot why water had collected under my dryer. When he arrived at the house he started examining the dryer, but quickly ruled it out as the source of water on the floor and began examining the washing machine. There was no defect that could account for a leak in my 4 year old LG, but he did notice that a lot of suds collected in the tub when it went through a cycle with no detergent added to the water. From this observation, he came up with a very plausible explanation for the water on the floor. Without diving into a more detailed explanation, I will say I was very impressed with his knowledge level and problem solving skills. It took several cycles to remove the suds from the tub. While we were waiting, Will fixed an issue with my dryer and shared lots of information about various appliance brands and recommended appliance maintenance. Will's hourly rate was very reasonable. It was a pleasure to spend an hour with an intelligent, humble individual who is a "standout" in his field. read more

Our four year old Bosch dishwasher displayed an error code the day after Thanksgiving. When I called Bosch, they sent me a list of authorized repair companies, and Hazelett was listed. After researching online and seeing all the positive reviews, I sent an email Sunday night. The next morning Will called and scheduled to come out Wednesday morning, even though I live on the opposite side of the Valley. He arrived promptly at 9, identified the part he needed to pick up, then went to pick it up while I waited. Within an hour he had returned, repaired the dishwasher, and tested to make sure it ran ok. His prices were very reasonable, but the most important thing to me in addition to knowing his stuff was his friendly and professional attitude. We have had Will service our appliances several times and always find him to be honest, reasonably priced and most fair. When I told him that the ice maker was shot, he said he would order one and come install it when it arrived, saving a service call for us and for him. My refrigerator compressor was turning on and off repeatedly, sometimes every couple of seconds. I called one service who sent out a tech. He said the compressor was dying. Would have been $800-$1,000 to replace so he recommended I buy a new fridge. Given the cost of a new one, I called and spoke to Will at Hazelett. He came out that afternoon. Within a couple minutes he diagnosed the problem as a faulty motherboard in the control assembly. He said the compressor was fine. He was able to locate a new control assembly, bought it across town and came out the next day to install it. His service charge was too low for what he did. Fridge is back to running perfectly. I recently had service on a washing machine. They had come recommended and the tech was very personable when he arrived. The problem with the washer was intermittent, and of course it worked fine while he was at the house. He offered to do a little research about the problem and get back to me, which I was grateful for. $75.00 for the service call. Later I get a call telling me the only thing that could be causing the intermittent problem was a $500 control panel, and they offered to order it. I declined since the unit was still working. It quit again a few days later so I hit Google for my own research. Within 10 minutes I found numerous similar issues where the problem was determined to be worn brushes on the electric motor. Being handy, I pulled the motor out, and sure enough the brushes were shot. I ordered and installed new brushes for $43.00 and it has been working like new since. I called them back to tell them what I found in my research, that I thought they misdiagnosed the problem, and how I fixed it with new brushes. They were rude, defensive, and never admitted that they misdiagnosed the problem.There was no offer of a full or partial refund, or credit towards another service call. In short, I paid $75.00 for a misdiagnosis AND they attempted to sell me a $500.00 part I didn't need. Not recommended. read more
