03/17/26 My husband and I are in our late 70s and we had several Dr. Appointments today. In between appointments the tire low air indicator come on my dashboard. Since the last Dr. Appointment was in the vicinity of Mr. Tire in Garner I decided to stop by to see if I could get someone to check my tire. I went in and a nice young man came to the counter and wrote up a ticket for the check up. Then another gentleman came very quickly and took the vehicle in back and checked the tire. Fortunately for me it only need some air added which the gentleman added plus checked the other tires for problems. I was willing to pay just to make sure all was safe on my vehicle. The young man told me there was no charge. I want to give these guys all my praise for their kindness. You don't find this too often in our world today. I will not forget them. Need 1 tire replaced on my wife's ford edge, called ahead to confirm they had the tire in stock and was told the price was $189, person over the phone acted like we were hassling them just to check if it was in stock. Show up in person and are told the all in cost is $360+ from the same person that quoted us over the phone. Avoid doing business with this location, terrible customer service, you are annoying the person at the front by being a customer here. read more

They didn't take my car back Untill 12::00z it's been 1 hour and I still have not had my oil change finished. What's the point in scheduling an appointment. Do not get the Groupon and think it'll save you money. We purchased the full synthetic oil change Groupon for $70. The regular price is $96 when we got there the "shop fees and taxes" came to an additional $20 which makes the Groupon basically useless. We ended up paying the same price. Absolutely ridiculous. Besides that annoyance they were also extremely slow and tried to sell us multiple additional items. read more

Spoke with customer service today. Gave me a little resistance but finally issued a refund...after I pointed out they clearly overcharged me for the inspection and asked how they justified not refunding me. They then told me they needed a copy of my inspection from the dealer that passed it. I pushed back on them and asked why they needed anything from me when they had a copy of the invoice showing they overcharged me. We'll see if I get e refund or not. read more

So far so good! Was able to get a oil change for $14 which I am extremely happy about. The store was nice and clean with no grease stains anywhere. Customer service was really nice and they finished my car quickly. Would definitely come back. Make sure you check in with yelp because they give you a coupon! read more

I am confused with some of the comments on here. * First, it is a busy tire center and they do the work as fast as they can. It is NOT drive thru McDonalds. Have patience. "Luther" who runs the from desk, was extremely pleasant and informative. He told me when my car was being serviced. I had an appointment and had to wait only 10 minutes. The technician; "Charles" listened to my request to where I wanted my tires rotated (which they could have charged me, but didn't). I also asked to have 37 psi put in, which they did. They have a comfortable, clean waiting area with coffee and t.v.. Now . . if they served donuts, I would give them a constellation !! Thanks y'all !!! read more

Don't bother making an appointment at this place; they can't keep to it. I was on a tight schedule, and was assigned an appointment for an oil change. When I arrived on time, I was informed that it would be an hour or more before they could even get to my car. I mean, I get that a place can fall behind, but not by that much over for an appointed time. I wish the guy who answered the call would've informed me of this possibility; I would've gone somewhere else. AWESOME!! I went to the Mr. Tire in Garner on hwy 70 Migel and Ethan provided me and my hubby with excellent service. They also called us with updates first before fixing anything that we hadn't agreed upon... all the staff was very nice and professional. I went for an oil change and tire rotation. The manager came in after my car was in the shop for an hour already. My guess they were thinking of what to say to me. When they came back in they tried telling me that my lug bolts were all stripped and 2 of them broke off in the hub! They tried to charge me for parts and labor to put a new one on! I am the only one to work on my car, I have no air tools. They kept insisting it was like that! If it was my, my wheel would have fallen off while driving! needless to say I paid for the oil and left! Then took my time and money to buy a new hub and new lug bolts! So an 80$ oil change turned into a $430 oil change! Never will I go again to mr tire! And I will spread the word through social media and word of mouth! read more

I've now been to Mr. Tire for my 3rd time and I've never had a problem with anything they've done. They are fast, friendly, and they don't charge me for extra services I don't need. Went into Mr. Tire today to get pricing on an oil change and the best time to schedule the service. I stood there for the first five minutes, while different service men (about four)inside the shop would just look over. Not one person came to the counter to assist me. Even if you are busy, a quick sir, I will be right with you is all it took. Then another guy came in and stood behind me, and waited with me at the counter for someone to acknowledge us. After another five minutes, I looked at him and said good luck! The worse Mr. Tire I have been to thus far! Obviously, no customer service skills. read more

I have been into this auto shop twice to get work done over the last two weeks and am so impressed by the honesty and willingness to help that was displayed by all who assisted in repairing my vehicle. It is no secret that finding a genuine and straight forward auto repair shop is hard to come by these days, now that I have found Mr. Tire, I intend to continue business with these gentlemen as they took excellent care of me and my vehicle. A special thank you to Chris who found and solved an issue that I would have otherwise been naive to. I went to this location to have my car inspected and they failed it due to the window tint. However last year this same location passed my car with the same tint. When my husband asked why did it fail this year he was told that "the tint must've gotten darker over the year". Now help me understand how this is possible once the car has been exposed to the elements for a year, for the tint to darken, no one can explain this. I took it to a different Mr.Tire on a sunny day and cleaned the windows what do you know, it passed 35.7%, legal tint like I knew it was. This location is not very efficient and I would not trust them with my state inspection again. I made sure I called and told them what happened and David didn't seem to care that they had given me a false fail on my car. Needless to say I would not recommend this location to anyone! read more

This place is the worst!! After they changed my front brakes my brakes began to squeal. We brought the car back 4x's!!! to have them look at it and fix the problem. Each time we got a different story. I finally spoke to the manager, Dave, who told me to bring it in after 11 o'clock the next day. I showed up when I was told to and I had to wait over an hour with my crying children BEFORE they even looked at my car. I had my oil changed at this location and was expecting a $24.99 service as priced on the website. Somehow, the total was $40. ($15 for oil, $14.99 for the filter, $6.28 for shop supplies and $2.90 for recycling). The associate said he had to charge me $12 more because I was using a coupon. I would encourage everyone to get the out the door pricing before committing to service here. Very misleading and I will not be back. read more

I had gone here previously to register my vehicle and get oil changes, and never had issues. Today however, I booked an appt at 10:00 and arrived 9:45. The guy told me "I know you have an appt, but we have a lot of people ahead of you so you'll just have to wait.." so, not sure the reason for an appointment.. He wasn't the nicest. I sat there for an hour to get my oil changed and tires balanced. He came back and said they couldn't change my oil because whoever did my last oil change stripped my "drain bolt?" and they don't have the parts. I told him "I came here." He said no, we don't have your car on file. I said I was definitely here a few months ago getting an oil changed and also registered my vehicle through here. He continues to argue that my car had never been there. He said I needed to book another appt once they got the part for the oil change. I said "since I've been here an hour can we at least balance the tires." He went and checked and came back stating "you need new tires, so we can't balance them." Quoted me $750 for this. When he checked me out he said "oh, now I see your name in the system.." he was super rude from the minute I walked in. Brandy was incredibly helpful getting me in for an oil change quickly! Very fast, friendly, and efficient. Much better prices for a full synthetic oil change than other places near by. They didn't try to oversell a bunch of services that I didn't need, but were open and honest about the needs of my vehicle. read more

Had reserved tires and an appointment with this location today and was quoted a price online. When we showed up, suddenly the price was $100 more and very little explanation was given for this. I ended up having them put my old tires back on because we could not agree with a price. They left my tires under-flated and did not replace the screw caps. read more

I will never go here again! I went and told them I had a check engine light on and needed my spark plugs changed. When I returned and picked up the vehicle it was running worse than when dropped off. I returned and was told that they did what I asked. They would look into it for a diagnostic fee of $105.00. Needless to say I left very unhappy. I will not go back. read more

Have been to this location numerous (HWY 70 in Garner) times in the past and had great services. Unfortunately yesterday was the complete opposite. Scheduled an appointment Thursday for my husband and I to both take out vehicles at 11:30 Saturday morning, Mind you we drive from the Smithfield side of Clayton due to previous positive experiences as well as great prices. We arrived on time and once it was looked up that we were only getting conventional oil changes with the drive card were told it would be "hours before our cars would be done" 2 people called out. The guy in front of us was quoted over $200.00 and told it would be an hour or so... I hate to jump to conclusions but it seemed if it really was that big of an issue we would have been told as soon as we walked up not after it was looked up what we were getting, what is possibly quicker than a standard oil change? Better yet. Having an appointment it would have been nice to get a call to say "Hey, we had 2 people call out. We see you have an appointment at 11:30, this is the situation, would you like to reschedule or will this be ok?" We decided to leave 1 vehicle there and were told to come back in an hour at the most and it would be ready. We returned an hour and half later to see all new vehicles in the bays that were not there when we left to be told they were it was next to be pulled in. I understand you cannot control your employees but you can control how you handle your customers. I purchased a used car and took it to Mr. Tire to get it checked out. They completed a full tire alignment, tire replacement, and more for a phenomenal price! I then took the car to another car shop to get a quote on another issue I was having with the car. They tried to rip me off by more than $200 on the repair so I called Mr. Tire to get their opinion. Caleb and Chris were WONDERFUL and gave me ANOTHER sweet price on the SAME REPAIR JOB!! Not to mention that Caleb was willing to pick the car up for me from the other auto shop when I was unable to. Now THAT is customer service! I wish I was living in this area longer term JUST so I could have access to a mechanic shop as reliable and helpful as they are. Good mechanics you can trust (especially for someone like me who knows NOTHING about cars and what things SHOULD cost) are rare. But now, Mr. Tire is like family! Thanks, guys! This place is full of really nice, friendly people who are happy to strike up a conversation while you get your car fixed or, like me, get an oil change. A young black lady from Advance auto check ed my car battery which read good but I advised her that it was dead this morning. She gave me great advise and told me to unhook the battery at night, hook it back up the next morning and start the vehicle. If it starts then something is drawing current. On the way to breakfast I remember using my dome light on Sunday and look up and the darn thing was on. Thanks to the young lady. read more

Went in this week for one of their low cost oil changes. When the work was completed they called me and let me know the rear brakes on my van were just about worn out and needed replacement. They wanted $139.00 for the job. Today I went out and purchased brake shoes and set to work. When I pulled the drum, the shoes were about 25% worn (I'm being generous with my estimate). There was nothing wrong with the brakes and no reputable shop would have suggested this service. I would not let these guys touch my cars after seeing this behavior. I was in town visiting relatives when my 2005 Buick needed some work. The manager was very helpful in setting up a time and then going over what needed fixed.
