These guys did a bang up job, with a hammer no less, and nailed it. I'll save the sad story of breaking down at a truck stop in the middle of corn city and jump to the chase. I get towed here on a busy Saturday and am ready to freak out about my van. I explain the problem and what I understand could be the culprit in causing my van to not start. They listen and I sit in a nice room with AC, TV, and all that Jazz, while I wait while they don gloves and prepare to stick a thermometer up the exhaust pipe. I decide to take a quick stroll over to the nearby shopping center and return to find my car already running again. The maintenance tech Robert says that he simply hit the starter with a hammer and the thing turned over. I was beside myself with glee that my vehicle could run and that all I needed was the most common household tool to crank her up. Then Robert tells me there's no charge because it took 5 minutes and cut me loose. That's awesome! No bill? -well I'll be back next week with my other car. Thanks Firestone! read more

They couldn't change out a battery because they said the screws holding the seat down were corroded and let the car sit for two days without doing anything. I showed them the corrosion before the work had even began and they said they would give it a try. (Battery is under seat which is just peachy). They said they were busy, so they might not get to it Monday. I asked when on Tuesday would be good, suggesting 3PM and that was "plenty of time." I called at 2:30 for an update and they said the technician wouldn't be able to work on it due to it being a safety issue. If the seat is unscrewed, obviously it would be dangerous. I told them to just remove the front two screws and it tips back (how I've changed the battery before). They said they would give it a try. I called back AGAIN at 6PM and they said, "Nope, still a safety issue and the tech was afraid he would bust the screw head off if he tried any harder." So, they jumped the car and I got it going. I went and bought the 10mm triple square bit and all the fixins to drill and reverse that screw out. Guess what? The screws came out easy, no issues. I think the real safety issue is they have someone working on vehicles who doesn't possess the strength to turn a ratchet. I would suggest that management require the person to perform a company mandated physical or an investigation. I'm concerned for the safety of an individual who is unable to provide a slight torque on a ratchet without fear of injury. This could be a sign of a serious medical condition, and I think Firestone needs to investigate the wrist and arm strength of this technician before they break their thin birdlike bones. read more

Fire certain employees that don't know how to work with customers. Employee gave me refund a year ago due to my inspection did not pass because I had an out of state window tint legal in California. Employee told me I could never return to this location for any services because of this refund I had a year ago. Firestone could not resolve this issue with me and played games avoiding what happened and has not given me any clarity or resolution about this. read more

STAY AWAY. Unless you want to leave here with MORE DAMAGE to your car than you originally came in for. (Do not let Austin or Bret touch your car) I came in for a simple single wheel tire replacement....after an hour of waiting in the store, my tire was replaced, but my drivers side door was bent and the metal frame cut into. I was told by the manager Lauren that this "large dent" was already present on my car before it went to their bay and their technicians had no part in making the dent. The manager is refusing to take ownership of the mistake and leaving me with a possible $3000 worth of damage that needs to be fixed to keep me and my child safe in our car. This place has had issues with customer service in the past, and they will continue to have issues if they dont treat their customers . UNFORTUNATE UPDATE: The estimate is $7000, the store is still lying and Bridgestone/Firestone coorporate is refusing to help with damages. read more

Anything I might need for either of my cars in the future will be done elsewhere. I have been a loyal customer for years, but no more. I should have listened to my wife who has never liked Firestone on Fayetteville Road in Raleigh, NC, and after my last visit, I must say that under the current service manager, the place is in a steady decline. I should have read the reviews, but as I said, I've been taking my Highlander there for years. This time around I made an appointment based on AAA advice. They got my SUV started, I let it run for an hour as they advised, and then took it in to Firestone for a full battery charge. I made it abundantly clear that I wanted it CHARGED. The next morning I went back at the agreed upon time, 11am. When I went in, I gave the service manager my name and asked if my battery charge had been completed. It hadn't been. The SM proceeded to tell me that they didn't charge batteries, all they did was diagnose them. I had just had it diagnosed the previous day by AAA. I repeated that the young lady who set up my appointment was told clearly that I wanted a CHARGE. The SM smugly told me matter-of-factly, "We don't charge batteries." That struck me as very odd because I thought of charging batteries as a basic service garages supplied. He then said, "We don't even have a battery charger." WOW! They wasted my time and effort due to either inadequate staff training Or a policy of bait and switch. I was not a happy camper! It gets worse. I asked for my key back, and before he would, he told me that I owed $44 and change for the diagnosis. I then told him I'd be damned if I was paying anything for something I didn't ask for. In the end I got what I deserved, my key and paying nothing, but reaching that outcome was unbelievably unpleasant. His final words were, "Here!" as he shoved my key toward me, "and don't come back!" I had to laugh inwardly. He thought he was showing me up. Of course, I had no intention of darkening their doorway ever again anyway, so his "Final Cut" didn't even scratch me. Of course after all that "great service", the Highlander still didn't start. My wife and I, two people in their seventies on a near 100 degree afternoon, had to wait for AAA for over an hour and a half in the Firestone parking lot. That idiot SM probably enjoyed watching us sweat, trying various things to keep cool without damaging the battery in our Accord hybrid. The moron didn't bother to think of his personal liability and that of Firestone had we suffered physical trauma as a result of his "great customer service". Nor did he consider how his behavior came across to his waiting customers in the lounge. I didn't care what they thought of me. I had nothing invested in them. I will tell you that as we waited in the heat, as one of their other customers drove past us as he was leaving, he shouted out to us something like, "I don't blame you for not wanting to come back here." DO NOT GO HERE. I scheduled an appointment to replace my headlights. They DISCONNECTED the entire headlight assembly and said they couldn't replace it because of "wiring issues". Spent 1350 for 4new tires and brakes. me and my child waited 4.5 hours no big deal. Next morning my NEW tire was flat. I dealt with a man names JOHNNY that next morning his customer service is disgusting. I got my own car towed. He let my car sit for 2 hours after his coworker ASSURED me it will be fixed in under one hour. Then came out telling me he's short staffed, he didn't even communicate with the coworker who originally quoted my times and services. All of these are company issues NOT the customer. He said its likely my fault the tire was flat from a nail so I'm pushed to the bottom of the list. Like I said, I left Firestone at 730 pm went straight home woke up tire was completely flat. I had to get very stern just for him to go out and check my tire for nails. FINALLY he did and there was no nail, claimed the tire pressure sensor was faulty and was still denying any fault of Firestone. I know the tire wasn't sealed before I left, I know cars and he tried taking advantage of me as a girl. Did everything he could to still blame all his problems within the company to why he wasted my entire day having to come back to fix their error. So glad I took pictures and videos as proof he seemed so nasty he would have likely popped nail in the tire when he took it off to inspect it. I had a horrible experience today and will never come here or any Firestone ever again. My oil change was scheduled for 11 a.m. After waiting 10 minutes after arrival to check in, I was told it would take an hour and a half. Already, that is a ridiculously long wait for an oil change when places like SnappyLube or JiffyLube take 15 minutes. In any case, I waited, because I had an appointment and $30 off coupon. Three hours later, I was still waiting for my car, even though it was finished and sitting in the lot for 20 minutes. Then, my bill was quoted at $70. I refuted, saying I only came there due to a $30 off coupon for full synthetic oil, which I presented when checking in. I've never paid more than $80-90 for full synthetic oil, so I expected the bill to be closer to $50-60. Turns out, they used synthetic blend *without asking or consulting me* and I have only ever used full synthetic. So, the coupon, the whole reason I went there, wouldn't apply. To add insult to injury, my regular shop, Quality Auto Plus, was offering a deal, $50 for full synthetic oil change, while the Firestone rep said that would cost $125; I have never paid that much. Not only is switching from full to synthetic blend bad for the engine, it also doesn't last as long before needing changed. All of that is to say, I paid MORE for a worse product, terrible service, wasted time, and potential damage to my car. Save yourself a lot of frustration and money and do not go here! read more

I literally listened to one guy talk to a customer about a personal car accident while other customers were standing around. Also, when other customers walk in it takes way too long for them to speak. I get if it's busy but it wasn't. If I could give this zero stars I would! "Robbie" helped me set up an appointment yesterday for today at 2PM. I told him my tail lights had not been working and I had already changed the fuse a few times and the bulbs so I knew it had to be a wiring issue. When I checked their services it stated it included lighting. Which I thought included wiring. I then asked if they would check the check engine light because it was on and asked how much it was and he said "$9.99" so I said okay. I dropped my car off today and they told me it would be a few hours so I walked 4 miles home just for them to call me an hour later and say that they checked my tail lights fuse and bulbs and that it was a wiring issue and I said I already knew that and he recommends me to go to an electrician or a body shop. I said okay well how much did this cost? He said $192 I said excuse me and he said it's $67 plus $99.99. I said I'm sorry there must have been a misunderstanding. The guy who set up my appointment told me it was $9.99 and he said no that's not right. So I spent $200 for absolutely nothing to get fixed after I already paid a body shop $3000 to fix it and got screwed over. Then they screw me over too. Clearly $9.99 and $99.99 is a HUGE difference. I told the guy thats a huge misunderstanding and they should be more careful next time when explaining the prices. I was in tears over this because I expected to only spend right at $100 max. First and last time going to a Firestone. Made an appointment for an oil change and sat around for an hour before they even took it back. Charged me about $40 more than other places. They did their comprehensive check for me, told me I needed all new tires, my rear shocks replaced, and that several lights were out. Immediately took it somewhere else for a second opinion and the only thing that needed to be done was one light replaced, which I already knew needed to be done. The only reason that I give this a 4 of 5 star is that Firestone is not exactly the cheapest place to get your card serviced. Sometimes, they charge for checking things, that I feel like should be checked for free. Having said that, I will pay slightly more (than say Pep Boys/similar), because this place has impressed me from the get-go. They are nice, not condescending to me (as a woman). They always make suggestions for services, but don't beat you to death with it. This was an important point for me leaving other establishments - just had the car in there for one thing, and the next thing breaks next day because they couldn't look out for anything sitting right beside them. They have price matched, as well as offered comparible items, when sale items get sold out. They can get busy, but they are pretty good on estimating time, when you are waiting. The manager, Robert, seems to be a genuinely nice guy. The wait area is clean and comfortable. My opinion on car service shops is this......you'll go somewhere for the price, or for the service, but rarely one place that really meets both. I had a horrible experience at Firestone in Raleigh NC on Fayettville St located in Garner well its close to Garner but in Raleigh. I met with a man name Johnny, as I arrive with my car which is a 1999 Ponitacic Sunfire. I had explain to Johnny that I need a inspection for my car and had previous work done there. Hadn't really had any bad experiences there in the pass. As I arrive there in the store at Firestone I had explain to Johnny that my ABS light and break light was on in my car but was told that it could still pass inspection as long as check engine light was on. I trusted Firestone because I hadn't really ever had any bad experiences with them in the pass or current up until now. Johnny ran the test on the ABS and Break light after I ask him to check these out including my state inspection. He came back to me and I did explain to him I was a struggling single parent and college student. That it's really important to only do the necessary to my car because of financial reasons. He said to me Ms. Warren, I understand I will look out for you I said ok. Mr Johnny came back to me and said I have some very bad news about your car. He said you probably want to come over here to tell you. He said we can sit over here I said ok. He said your car is trash. I said what do you mean he said? He said your car is know good and will need 2,059 worth of work. I had just brought the car and had it check buy a professional at that time and knew my car couldn't have being as bad as he johnny was saying. I just burst into tears and just felt like what is happening. I said this can't be true. johnny repeatly said to me your car is no good. I could feel the negative and racism off of him and just really knew it was not coming from a caring place. He said I fail your inspection and that you need a new ABS EBCM AND VALVE body parts are faulty. Everything Johnny said I needed for my car was minor I realize after I talk to my friend mechanic. But Johnny did not explain this to me he sat there and watch me cry and be stress out about my car and trying to figure out how I'm I going to get this money 2059. How I'm I going to do everything I have to do with out a car. After Johnny also continued to call my car trash. He said my car needed 2,059 worth of work and defintely needed this work in order for my car to function good and be safe to drive. Did I really get a bad car. I call my friend who is a very good mechanic and he went with me at that time to get the car. I left he had it inspected for me because he's not certified and to get a second opinion.The car I knew was a good car but had a few minor issues. I call my friend from Firestone and told him about what happen to me. My friend told me that Johnny was lying after he sent me the inspection of my car. I was very distress being a single parent and trying to get threw school. I thought how could this man treat me so bad. As I began to leave Johnny tried to manipulate me still out of this 2059. Johnny said your ABS and Brake light have to be working in order for your car to pass inspection He said you can contact DMV and they will give you a pass to drive your car for a year with out being inspected. But you have to apply and if you bring your paper work back to me and make sure you give them the paper work were I fail your inspection. You have to agree to get your car fix here and pay down 300 down and you can't get your car until you paid it up. I was like wow unbelievable I said no thank you. And walk out that door. Went and meet with my friend and got my car inspected with ABS and Brake light on. I felt that I was treated horrible, discriminated against, rough-up from a mental stand point, and disrespected. Taking advantage of because I was a women. I contacted Rob and wasn't really taken seriously because I had to reschedule my appt with him. So I advise people not to go to this Firestone. We agreed on a time and ended the conversation. They were able to see our information because we brought both vehicles here in the past. We came at the appointment time only to be told they didn't show we had an appointment, an even though there were 2 empty bays, we were turned away. Very disappointed. read more

Scheduled a 10am appointment for oil change, tire rotation and inspection. Was told the car would be done at 11:30, came back at 12 to find my car still in pieces, why because they wanted to tell me my brakes were getting low!! I told them to put the tires in the car I needed to go! When questioned why they didn't call Hector stuttered a while and then disappeared. He then came back and told me to have a seat, the car would be done in 20 min. I told him no put the tires on the car I needed to go. Once again he disappeared and came back 15 min with the car done. If you tell me a time the car will be done and there are no unforeseen issues the car should be done, waiting to I got back in hopes of getting the brake job cost you a customer. At the very least call me (I made sure they had my number) to ask if I want the brakes done! read more

This location really tries to work for you. Robert is the GM and is a pretty good guy. They will never be the cheapest but they are dependable. Just remember that when they try to talk you into additional services they are trying to maximize the ticket. You need to think about the level of service you actually need. read more

I sign up yelp for just writing this review. Therefore please take a look and consider my suggestions. I took my car for evaporation emission system fixed. And the light come back on just about two weeks after they fixed it. But that's okay, because the circle in the system has three parts and I do need to have something else fixed. However, today the guy opened my engine cup in front of me, and one of the screw drop from his hand. Another guy promised to find it out and put back on. I trusted in him. And took the key from him. I opened the front cover back home. There was no screw inside that hole. This is a small but very serious problem and I don't feel Firestone is being honest for me. Also I check the part which need to be replaced. The VSV on line is average about 50 Bucks. But Firestone charges one for 161!! Holy cow!! Here are my opinions. Find out the problem for ur vehicle; know where u wanna replace and check the market price; determine if u can or anyone u know who can fix it. instead of going to Firestone! read more

This is not the place you should trust with your time nor vehicle. I have had multiple issues at this location that all seem to revolve around a lack of communication to both there coworkers and customers. Today, I tried to get my state inspection done before I go out of town. I waited two hours for such "inspection". After inquiring on how much longer my vehicle had, it turned out it had not even been taken into shop yet because no one knew who was supposed to do the inspection. After finding that out, the employee working provided no options for making things right and instead just allowed me to take my key and leave. read more

Had work done in New York while up there and came home to have my brakes grinding after I just had new pads and rotors put on a week before. Robert and his crew were very professional and quick and decided to change out my brake pads because something got bent and instead of bending it back and chancing it still making he noise he decided to replace them free of charge. The entire team in this location are superstars!!! I've been taking my vehicle there since they opened and I'm always impressed with the level of courtesy and professionalism every employee there provides. The work is done in a timely manner and you don't have to worry about un-needed repairs or poor work performance. They are upfront and honest about what is needed and what the cost will be. I can't speak for all Firestone locations; but that's only because I'm very satisfied with the level of service given at this location and I'll continue to go there. If you apply for Firestone credit, all repairs over a certain amount are interest free if paid off within a certain timeframe. Helps to manage my money and great service too! read more
