Extremely frustrating experience -- I would not recommend this location I initially showed up for a state inspection and was told it would be about a 45-minute wait. That was fine, I was willing to wait. What I found ridiculous, however, was being told they don't allow drop-offs, despite the fact that I work within walking distance of the shop. Another thing that really bothered me was the inspector giving "constructive criticism", if you can call it that, to another younger coworker while in front of clients. That is just not professional. Next, when they finally got to my car for inspection, apparently while pulling my car forward, the brakes made a light squeaking noise. I was then pulled aside and told that this was an automatic inspection failure as it meant they were low. The inspector then tried to upsell me on brakes and when I questioned if they were actually low or if it was dirt, the inspector informed me that she was not obligated to actually inspect the brakes underneath the car to determine whether they were worn, low, or simply making noise from dirt/debris on the rotor. After waiting around 30 minutes, I was essentially being told I needed brakes based on the fact that they squeaked once. I drove the car around the lot afterward and couldn't get them to squeak again. At that point, it felt less like a legitimate inspection and more like an attempt to sell me a brake job. I wasn't willing to pay for something based on that kind of diagnosis, so I left. There was also a separate issue involving my wife. She called ahead and was told that they could take her in and the inspector would be there, she said 30 minutes but arrived roughly 15 minutes later, only to be told that "the inspector had already left". So apparently the information given over the phone isn't particularly reliable either. Overall, this was a frustrating and unprofessional experience from start to finish. Between the inconsistent communication, the treatment of customers, and the way the inspection was handled, I wouldn't trust this location with my vehicle. This company claimed they serviced my truck there on 05/13/2026 with 20,742 miles. my truck had about 70,000 miles at that time. i have never taken my truck to this company for service, but i see that the prior owner did on 05/22/2025 with 56,573 miles. When i called the shop to ask them to correct the mistake, a man named John said they could not do anything about it. when i asked John for his last name, he hung up the phone. obviously, an uncaring business as this hurts the value of my truck. read more

Have been getting my vehicle oil changes and state inspection at this location for many years. The staff have always been professional and easy to deal with. Somehow I go at a good time because I bring a book to read and it is very rare I get any reading done of more than a chapter. For me this location is very convenient which is a nice plus. They offer coupons that help with costs. They make it easy to do proper maintence of my vehicle and I greatly appreciate that. read more

Know the law and what is required to pass inspection before you get a State Inspection done here. I took my vehicle in for a NC State Inspection. A technician removed the rear wiper, brought it to me in the waiting area, and told me the inspection failed because of a tear in the rear wiper blade and wanted to sell me a new wiper. When I told him that NC inspection does not include the rear wipers, he insisted that it did. He didn't back down until I asked him to show me the requirement in the law, which he couldn't do. NC Statute specifies only that all "windshield" wipers that clear the windshield in front of the driver must be in working order. No other window locations or wipers are addressed. This was clearly a case of trying to sell an overpriced rear wiper and justifying it by lying about the inspection requirements. Also, the technician had no business removing any part of my vehicle that I had not asked him to. In the end, my vehicle passed inspection. I added 1 star to my rating because the technician who greeted me and brought the car out when it was done was very friendly and polite. read more

I pulled in for a State Inspection just before 3 pm this afternoon. There seemed to be one car ahead of me in the bay, there was another car in the next bay getting an oil change. At least six people were working that I saw throughout the facility - assuming one was under the car working. I was approached and I confirmed they could do an inspection at the bay labeled "inspection." The attendant nearest me said, "yeah." I asked should I leave my keys in the car, and was told, "yeah." I entered the waiting room and took a seat. The attendant I had spoke came inside and told a co-worker he was going on break to get something to eat. Two more customers entered after me - they requested oil changes. Their cars were serviced as while I continued to wait. After waiting over 40 minutes without anyone attending to my car I stood up and wanted to be noticed. After the second customer paid I told the attendant I had been waiting for nearly an hour for an inspection. He said he'd get to it in about another 15 or 20 minutes. The control of how and what car is handled next seems sadly lacking and I won't be returning. I'd advise anyone going to this business to be very, very patient, or to go elsewhere for normal service. read more

Went in for a simple oil change. The shop drained my transmission and never told me. Now the transmission is blown and will cost $10,000 to replace. The shop has ghosted us in our attempt to get our car fixed. Do not go here, do not trust them! read more

They have a quick drive through Laser Wash. The wash does a good job, although you will have to dry your vehicle off. They also change oil and auto repair here also. They us Castrol oil. I spoke with a few of the guys and they were friendly in their conversation. read more

In October 2024, I had an oil change on my 2022 Mazda CX 50 and they almost ruined my car. They failed to tighten the plug. Therefore, I lost quite a bit of oil. When I called the manager of the store Thank you very much for being here today His first reaction was that he was not liable. I took it to the dealership and had the problem corrected, and when I called back for a refund, he said I needed to bring proof. In which I did. I brought a video from the dealership of my car with all the oil underneath of it. At that point, the manager did not even want to see the video but said I would have a refund on my card within 24 hours. he also informed me he would call me evening to verify the process was done. He never called. I then called the corporate office and the district manager was supposed to call and me never did so. I called a second time. He finally returned my call then he said I would get a check within 7 to 10 days and again I have not received that as well, my next phone calls were to the manager of the store and he hung phone hung up on me. So my next step is small claims court, as well as this review in hopes that no other customers will be treated this way or have their car ruined. read more

I just want to give a shout out to Alex at Fast Lube Plus on Kildaire and Penny Rd in Cary. Backstory, they made me replace my wiper blades there a few weeks ago during my inspection. As I was driving in the rain today, one of those blades came loose and became stuck making it impossible to use my wipers in the rain. A little nerve wracking, but I made it there safely. Alex came right over to see what he could help with. Not only did he get the blade dislodged, but then he replaced both wipers with a premium version for free and made sure all was working properly before I drove off. I was so relived that he made this so easy for me to deal with. I never even had to pull into the service bay! I always appreciate excellent customer service so wanted to give them their props. I have been coming here since 2004, and will continue to do so. read more

I had a horrible experience this past Friday. I went in for an inspection and I was told that my windshield wipers were ripped. They gave me two options. The set I currently had on my car for $19.99, and a lesser quality set that would be $12.99 for the driver side and $9.99 for the passenger side. Of course I chose the set I currently had for $19.99. They put the new ones on my car and then it was time to pay. I was told at that moment that they did not have the passenger side windshield wiper for the set I chose, so they had to put on the lesser quality one instead. Since they put on the driver side one I originally chose it was still going to be $19.99. Now I was going to be charged an extra $9.99 for the passenger side wiper that I did not choose. They did not tell me before they put it on that they were out of stock of the wipers I chose. They made the choice for me and I was stuck paying a higher price for windshield wipers that not only do not match, but one is of lesser quality for a higher price. That was very dishonest of them and I will absolutely never return. I refuse to go somewhere with such blatant disrespect for their customers. I should have been told upfront about the fact that they did not have the set I chose before they were put on my car. Was it really worth ripping me off for $9.99? How stupid of you to lose a customer over something you could absolutely have prevented by just being honest. read more

Do not take your car here. Ever since manager Tommy left it has gone downhill. Took car in as I have for years for routine oil change. Left town that afternoon only to have error code indicating problem with oil pump. Had to have towed for $200 back to Cary and will have to pay repair shop more money to be fixed. My husband just took our Jeep there since the price was a little cheaper than jiffy lube. When he got there he was told it would be $50-$70 for an oil change with synthetic oil. They came out and told him that his Air filter needed to be changed which we have been putting off. So he told them go ahead and change the filter. When it was time to pay, they gave him a bill of $200+ odd dollars. Apparently when you change the air filter you have to flush something to. This was not discussed with my husband. They told him to change the air filter it would be $19. How does going from $70 max for an oil change plus $19 for a new air filter jump up to 200 some dollars??? They charge for the flushing of something and did not tell that to my husband. When he said he would not be paying for that service because he was unaware of it they said that he cannot get his car back until he paid. We will be calling the manager tomorrow as he was off today. Unbelievable. Very agitating. Horrible customer service. If I could give zero stars I would. Don't come here. read more

I have been taking my car to Tommy and his guys at Fast Lube Plus since I was 16 years old and just starting to drive. It was close to my house and convenient. I have since moved to the opposite side of town, purchased my first home, and started a family. Still now, years later, I make the drive across town whenever something needs to be done, or a light comes on. They are always patient and explain exactly whats wrong and how it needs to be fixed. I haven't always been able to afford every repair but Tommy would let me know what needed to be done right away and what I could wait on. They are always courteous, remember my name, and check on me after long road trips, making sure my car is always good to go, and more importantly safe. I have used these guys quite a few times over the past few years. They do a good job with changing the oil, but beware they will ALWAYS try to sell you more repairs. I have heard their pitch multiple times to me and other customers. "Your fluids need to be flushed." "Your cabin air filter is the dirtiest on I have ever seen." Last week I was in there and they told me my power steering pump was leaking badly and so the car probably wouldn't pass the next inspection. The repair was $589 for parts and labor and a "fluid flush", which seemed like a questionable charge since they were replacing the pump and so most of the fluid should be drained out anyway. I took the car to a mechanic that I trust. He said the pump was fine and did not need to be replaced. I'll get my oil changed elsewhere from now on. read more

I was a loyal customer for 12 years. Then, one day, after going in for an oil change, I noticed they used the wrong oil in my car. They also insisted on changing my brake fluid. They caught me napping, and I paid the price. I had been in a year before to brake work. They changed the brake fluid at that time. It didn't need to be changed some 5,000 miles later. This was a blatant rip-off and I called the manager. He offered to do exactly nothing about the incident. As a result, despite their convenient location, they have lost my business.
