Labor Day I needed an oil change after missing my appointment at my regular place. I came in and my oil change was completed quickly (in under 30 minutes). I typically have longer waits at other places. I'm impressed with the quick service here. The staff here are pleasant and professional. All of the staff here interacted with me by speaking. Even one made sure I was aware of the complementary water and just seemed overall happy to be serving customers. Jiffy Lube is a Yes for me. I've always found them to be quick and helpful in my hometown but never been a part of my go-to list of places. Today, this has changed. My experience at the Jiffy Lube on Walnut Street in Cary, NC, was disappointing. As soon as I pulled up, I was approached by an employee with a poor attitude who immediately told me to park differently. After that, he asked what service I wanted. I told him I wanted the same service I had received during my last visit. He shrugged his shoulders, looked at me, and said, "Well, which one was that?" When I started looking for my previous receipt so I could tell him exactly what service I'd had, he simply walked away and never came back. After waiting, I decided to back out and leave. Instead, I drove about seven miles to another Jiffy Lube location, where the experience was completely different. I was greeted before I even had my vehicle in park, and the staff there was friendly, professional, and happy to help. Unfortunately, the Walnut Street location doesn't provide that same level of customer service. Based on my experience, the staff came across as unfriendly and uninterested in helping customers. This will be my last visit to that location. I still think Jiffy Lube is a good franchise overall, which makes this experience even more disappointing. This is the first time that I've visited a Jiffy Lube and did not have the attendant or supervisor try to upsale me. Shy asked me pertinent questions about my vehicle and my needs. He recorded them and that was it. The next interaction, less than 30 minutes later, was "your car is ready" followed by the cost, which by the way, with the coupon, made it a great deal. Absolutely horrible experience. Attendant was incredibly rude and refused to change my cars oil because of a noise in my car. Never had an issue with the noise my car makes at this exact same location. Nobody ever told me they couldn't service my car because of a noise. I will never come back and I recommended anyone reading this to find a place with employees who will do their job. read more

I stopped in for a state inspection. Jonathan K. Did the service, came in with two filters. He said that the filters needed replacement, the oil needed replacement. I said no, just the state inspection. He took the filters back to my car, got into the front passenger seat, totally removed the glove box and dumped box and contents onto the floor. The manager then had to drive it out since it is a stick shift. She said nothing about it, but just talked on the phone. Fortunately I knew someone who popped it back in 5 min later. When I arrived, the staff was incredibly kind and friendly, and walked me through what my car needed and what they suggested. They charged nearly twice as much as local competitors for a simple oil change, took longer than expected and did not do the following things on their own checklist: Clean windshields... checked but were left dirty put on a change sticker..checked but they left the old sticker on, no new one they didn't check the tires..one was very low charged $46 bucks for substandard service. I've been to this location several times since moving to the Raleigh area. The customer service here is top notch. I've gone in knowing in advance what my problems were and they correctly identified them without trying to add on other unnecessary services. Service is fast and I usually do not have to wait longer than 45 minutes to get everything done. One time I thought I was due for an oil change(sticker came off) and they recommended that I just do a top off and come back when it was actually time because I was 2000 miles too early. They could have easily just said nothing and done the oil change but they opted not to and were honest. This place can be a little pricey compared to smaller shops, but they usually have coupons that you can find online. Go here if you need an oil change or the NC state inspection. read more

We do a safety inspection for sell our car, they charged us $80.04. That's OK. But why we spend $80, there is no any print report. Just write a list by hand with several promblems. For double check the issues, we spend a whole day and visted 3 auto repair store. But all other stores told us there is no issues. I've been coming to this location for ten years without incident, so imagine my surprise when I went in yesterday for a simple oil change on my van and as a result I can no longer clean my front windshield. The mechanic either put a hole in the hose or knocked it off either way they will not take responsibility for it! I WILL NEVER GO BACK! read more

I got an inspection and they were able to get me in and out within 25 mins. I had no issues and the mechanic that helped me was super nice! I failed because I needed new windshield wipers but he was good about letting me know my pricing options. Once I chose an option, he put my new wipers on and I was good to go. I am always a little hesitant about these places - we have all heard the horror stories. I needed a State Inspection performed and I refused to sit at a dealership for hours on end. So I decided to give this place a shot. I pulled right up and was instantly greeted by one of the employees. Everything was very professional. I sat in the waiting room (reading Yelp reviews I might add) and about 20 minutes later the Inspection was complete - passed with flying colors. Very impressed! If I could give this 0 stars I would. I showed up 10 minutes after opening and had to wait 3 hours for Jiffy Lube to complete an Oil Change and Inspection. During my 3 hour wait, I noticed very visibly on a board in the office that several employees would be out due to a mandatory court date for drug related charges. After, I was told I was all good to leave I started driving down the road when a plate from under my car fell completely off. I drove back to Jiffy Lube to tell them what had happen, only to find the employees completely aggravated. I had to wait in the waiting room for 15 minutes before anyone tended to me. I finally filled out the accident report and continued to wait alone for an additional 10 minutes. I decided to walk out and ask employees what I should be doing now, and they said I could get back into my car while I continue to wait in line. 20 minutes later, an employee came over to me and said their HQ would be contacting me regarding the incident. They proceeded to grab the plate that fell from underneath my car, and threw it on the ground of their office. This was 2 weeks ago and I have not received any communication from Jiffy Lube, or their HQ. You'd be better off going to a 5 year old to get the job done and for better customer service. read more

I told the attendant that I'd like the $74.99 oil change for high mileage cars - an item listed on the menu posted on the wall. The man before me had the same oil change as I requested, and was offered a $12 coupon. I'd asked the guy, Alston, "Does the High Mileage oil change use synthetic oil, or am I choosing between synthetic oil and some other kind of high mileage oil?" He said, "All the High Mileage Oil is synthetic." So I clarified that's what I wanted, with the $12 coupon. The guy nodded his head, pointed to it again and agreed that's what I needed. Another guy came in, asked if I wanted the "synthetic oil," and I said yes. I mentioned the price of $7.99 and the $12 coupon, since the groupon site wasn't working, and he said ok. They both went out to work on the car, which tool almost an hour. For some reason, after replacing the oil, they kept going over to the corner of the building (3 times) and getting a little bit more oil at a time in the pouring can and putting it in the car, then measuring it again and again. He later told me, "It took way more that five quarts..." which I thought was odd. They said they "cleaned the windows, " but didn't bother to raise the back window all the way, so they only cleaned half of it. Breathtaking laziness. The oil filter they showed me looked brand new. (He did not tell me the new oil filter was included in the service). I told him it looked fine and I didn't want to buy another one just yet, and he said he thought it was fine too. So i understood he was to put it back in the car. But on the summary sheet in the left column, it states that they checked the filter. In the right column on the summary sheet, they said they replaced the oil filter. Both can't be true. They said they checked the tires, but I never saw them do it. He tried to charge me $5 to top off the coolant; I said I could buy a awful lot of coolant for $5, and he agreed. Then he said he'd do it for free. When he topped it off, it was less than a cup of fluid needed; he'd already looked, and was going to charge me $5 for that.... I wasn't impressed, but they were getting through it. the real problem came when the second guy rung me up for $120. It went like this:L "Wait, what?" We agreed on &74.99 with a $12 coupon." "But you said you wanted synthetic." "Yes, and you said, fine, at that price... How do you get $120?" Well, the $74.99 is for the synthetic blend, you got full synthetic..." "That oil change is not even on the menu - no one said anything about a blend v full synthetic, in the item description on your wall, on our website, or in our conversation." "It's new. I thought you knew about it. Alston should have explained that to you. We're shorthanded tonight." When I wouldn't pay the $120 and insisted on the $74.99 with the $12 coupon, he said he couldn't change it because "my inventory will be off. Tell you what, my manager would chew me out if he knew the discount I was about to give you..." He changed the $120 to $80 with no coupon, and I said no. "I design medical devices; why would I know that one of your oil changes NOT on the posted menu is full synthetic and the one on the menu is a synthetic blend. Nowhere does it say that, and you didn't tell me until after you'd changed the price to $120. I don't believe it's a 'new' oil. I don't believe you can't change it. I shouldn't be penalized because you've screwed up your inventory, or because phantom products are introduced randomly." "I'd hate to have to explain this to my manager..." "I'll explain it to your manager right now; get him on the phone and I'll be glad to talk to him." After 30 minutes, he finally agreed to charge me the $74.99 but said "it (the computer) won't let me give you the $12 coupon, because the guy ahead of you got the synthetic blend high mileage, and you got the full synthetic. " So I got the $10 coupon. This guy blamed his co worker for "the confusion," blamed the fact that he was short handed and rushed, blamed me (because he thought i knew that the menu items were synthetic blend and the entire line of synthetic oil changes are not listed anywhere?) and blamed himself because he didn't explain things right (which wouldn't have made any difference because what he charged me was not an option on their menu or website). There was no confusion. They both knew exactly what I'd said I'd wanted, both repeated it back to me, and both worked on the car at the same time. He was attempting to charge me for services I didn't get and thought he'd be able to talk me into believing he was giving me a deal. And to top it all off, one of them had pulled my car out to the street when they finished, and left the motor running the entire 30 minutes I'd been standing there arguing over the price. Not only did this steal my valuable time, it's insulting to have this guy think I'm stupid enough to fall for this bait and switch. read more

Jiffy to me means quick. "Be back in a jiffy". Means I will be back quick. They should change their name to it's gonna be awhile lube. A lot of goofing around in the garage and laughing, 4 guys and one is working. 2 cars ahead of mine and over an hour. I'm checking online now to see if my company car fleet car covers any of the other chains. This isn't the first time I've had this problem at work there jiffy lube shops. I guess I only have myself to blame for coming back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Enterprise card covers other places!!! I came in the other day for an oil changed and the place looked decently busy, but a employee came out pretty quick to greet me and get my car next in line for a bay. The work took maybe 15 min and they said everything looked good; it was very refreshing to go in ask for an "oil change", get what I asked for in a quick cheerful service, and then hear "your all set" 15 min later and off I go. I had already been to this location for an oil change, and been pleased with the service, when I had a radiator emergency nearby on a weekend afternoon. I pulled into the Jiffy Lube parking lot knowing they didn't repair radiators, but in dire strats for any kind of help. It wasn't very busy, and very nice man helped diagnose the problem, filled my busted radiator with coolant, and waved me goodbye without charging me anything (though I did say thank you with a green handshake). He probably helped me for a full 45-60 minutes while doing other work, but he really saved my life that day. I had an oil change on my Toyota Tundra yesterday. I got home and my truck was running funny so I checked the dip stick. There was almost double the amount of oil you're supposed to have according to the stick. I went back this morning and told them what happened. They drained the oil out to the correct level. When I got home I checked the dip stick again and it was the right amount however, they forgot to put the cap back on where you add oil at and oil had sprayed everywhere under my hood from when I left the shop. DO NOT GO HERE!! The employees who work here will steal valuable items out of your car while your getting it serviced. If you do go here, make sure you take all your valuables out of your car and recheck that nothings missing before you leave. Second time I've come here waiting over an hour and a half to get my car inspected. I have a green sticker from the dmv of motor vehicles that allows me to have my windows tinted for medical. The only reason I decided to come was because it was close to my job. What really pisses me off is the lack of customer service. This is the only location that seems very slow to work and they don't seem to want to work besides sitting and just standing. The woman asked me for more paperwork for the permit on my car because the permit shows no expiration date. Per DMV no paper work is needed and the permit expires in 5 years. The woman clearly doesn't know and I just didn't have the energy to try and explain. The only place that has ever asked for that because it seems they just don't want to work. So I left came back today and asked the man and showed him the paper work and he just stood there and said show it to the inspector. This is suppose to be a drive thru quick process. I'm sitting there for a hour and a half and there's only one car that was there when I got there in front of me. Now I have to go to work and I drove an hour to get here. I asked the man how long it takes he said 10-15 minutes and walked away. 30 more minutes go by and no inspector...this pisses me off. Tike and money wasted. They need a new manager or something this place is bad not like other stop and go places like take five that provide excellent care. Do your jobs and know the state laws. Take some classes educate yourselves. Good customer service means repeat business. You apply for the sticker there's no other papers you get the green sticker and put it in your car that's it. Bought a groupon for 38.99 and ended up paying over $120! So my girlfriend decided to be nice and get my oil changed for me, would have been nice if this Jiffy Lube didn't completely rip her off. Instead of giving her the pre-purchased they took it upon themselves to put some insane premium oil inside the car and charge an extra $90... of course they refused to honor the groupon price because of their "mistake". On top of this they even had the guts to try and charge her $70 to replace an AIR FILTER!?! I looked up the price of this so called $70 filter.
