For example, if one roll has eight pieces I wanted them to put four pieces in each container. The lady was very nice, but she said they could not do that. So I ordered the rolls to stay and then asked for two containers and split them up myself. While I was waiting, they gave me a complementary piece of fish tempura. It was very tasty. I ordered the Queen's roll and the Myrtle Ave roll to split. I ordered this for someone who does not like Law fish. I personally prefer raw fish. Then I got a California roll and a tuna roll. I thought the Myrtle Avenue roll was kind of bland. The mango on it didn't taste sweet enough. It really didn't have much going on. I thought the queen's role was very good. California rolls are California rolls. lol The tuna roll was a weird color. Maybe it was fatty tuna? I'm not sure. Usually when I order a Tuna roll the tuna is a nice bright, dark color. This tuna roll was very dull and grayish. I tried it and it tasted OK. But I just felt like it was sketchy so I wound up throwing it away. I think I would definitely come back and dine in. I don't know if I would ever order food to go again.

I decided to try sushi on this adventure. I learned a while ago that not all sushi is raw. I dont like raw food. I added in the instructions to make sure nothing is raw or spicy and the obliged. I pd for the fast delivery because cant really heat sushi and wow it was fast. Took them 17mins to arrive and took me 7 to eat it lol. All was good!

The fatty pork belly pairs excellently with the shoyu brother. The vegetable toppings give a light, refreshing contrast to the oily pork belly. Overall, loved this spot! He ordered the Honey roasted duck ramen and I ordered the spicy salmon miso ramen. Before our ramen came out, we ordered our drinks which were a Thai Iced Tea (can't go wrong with that) and he ordered the Lychee Iced Tea. For apps we had the Veggie Spring Rolls and the Edamame which were so crunchy with just the right touch of salt. We may have visited on a slower day since it was raining, but I can tell that it is a popular eatery and can get busy and packed. We lucked out and were seated immediately and didn't wait long for our food. The server kept refilling our water glasses which was much appreciated. I thought my cup was half full and i'd look up and all of a sudden theres even more water poured. Overall it was a cute restaurant and would be perfect for a lunch. Although we had ramen, they have an extensive menu. Check them out!

The soy sauce is made from scratch by Jiro, which is such a special touch and speaks to the attention to detail. The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and very family-friendly. My kids are obsessed with the sushi rolls, fries with seaweed, and the unagi bowl--they ask to come back all the time. The Hojicha Strawberry drink is unique and absolutely worth trying. Personally, I love the Hojicha Latte even more than a Matcha Latte. Everything feels thoughtfully made and consistently excellent. We eat here at least once a week, and it has become our favorite restaurant in the area. We're already looking forward to enjoying their ice cream this summer. Highly recommend!

The strawberry part was more like a jam, so it was a little sweet for me, but overall a decent drink. I would have preferred crushed strawberries, though. Later, I came back for dinner at the tail end of the day. I was leaning towards the beef curry bowl because I like bolder flavors, but the karaage chicken is a hit here, so I ordered that in bowl form. First off, all the contents were very fresh! The chicken pieces were crisp and tasty. The burdock on the side had a smoky umami that was quite nice - it was the best of the 3 sides - and the spicy mayo was on point. Still, I think I would have gone with the curry given my taste buds, but overall the karaage bowl is a solid choice. Lastly, while the container looks small in circumference, it is taller than other takeout containers, so the portions are really about the same as any other restaurant. The nori fries were subtle in flavor but the nori still made its presence known. All in all it was a great experience. The owners are very nice, also. I will go back for the curry and yakiniku, too.

My first visit to Sarku Japan in Canarsie, Brooklyn, was a pleasant experience…read more I signed up through their app and received a $5 discount on my first order. My chicken and shrimp teriyaki combo, originally priced at $15, came down to just $10 after applying the promo--a great deal considering the portion size. I ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki combo with stir-fried rice, stir-fried noodles, cabbage, and four California rolls. The portions were generous, and everything was well-coated in teriyaki sauce. The sauce had a light but flavorful profile, possibly a mix of light and dark soy sauce, giving it a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The stir-fried rice and noodles absorbed the sauce well, making each bite delicious. The shrimp was the highlight--juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The chicken was tender and had a satisfying chew. My only small critique was the cabbage: I would've preferred it cut into finer pieces rather than served as large leaves, but it still worked well in the meal. The California rolls were decent, considering they came as part of the combo. The rice was a bit sticky and clumped together, but they were still enjoyable. I was a bit confused by the dipping sauce provided--it tasted like duck sauce, which isn't typical for sushi. I wasn't sure if it was meant for the sushi or the cabbage, but I used it for the rolls anyway. While unusual, it worked well enough. The dining experience was surprisingly nice. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and quiet, with plenty of seating--a rare find in fast-casual spots. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the cashier recommended the shrimp and chicken combo, which turned out to be an excellent choice. For drinks, they offer a variety of canned sodas, including Coke products like Fanta and Sprite, which was convenient. Pro Tip: If you're in the area, I recommend picking up your order rather than relying on delivery. Canarsie tends to have heavy traffic, and delivery service can be inconsistent. Picking up ensures your food stays fresh and avoids any delays. Generous portions, flavorful teriyaki, and great value, especially with the app discount. Combined with excellent service and a comfortable dining environment, this Sarku Japan location is definitely worth a visit. I'll be back!

I honestly should of just went to the mall! I paid close to 13 dollars for their teriyaki chicken. And shrimp over brown rice and salad. Now hear me out, I will spend my last on a meal BUT the food quality and quantity doesn't match up to their price . The food was ok nothing spectacular the customer service however was GREAT. I was in and out with no long wait time. Would I return ? I highly doubt it but I thank the workers for their excellent customer service.
