I looked at the previous reviews and was a little nervous because some of the negative reviews but I'm the type of person that has to see for myself. Lol. I've ordered from this business via GrubHub and they service was spot on. I've ordered the usual (California, Spicy Tuna, and another one I forgot) but I'll definitely look into ordering from the place again. The delivery was way under the time limit and was very nice. I'm actually happy that there is one in my area so this will definitely be my go-to. I've patronized Arashi since they opened. Whenever I have friends over we order food from here and have easily spent hundreds of dollars there during the years. I haven't ordered in recent months because I felt the quality wasn't the same. But I wanted a quick meal and I decided to try my luck. Today I called to place an order for delivery and I wanted to pay with my card since I didn't have any cash on me. The woman who took my order said they have a *new* rule that it's only cash for deliveries. That's fine... As a business you can do what you want. However I don't have cash on me so I told the woman that I'd like to cancel the order. She said "are you sure?" I replied "yes, I don't have any cash on me". She then said "If you cancel, then you will no longer be allowed to place any orders." How do YOU change your policy (I've ordered delivery with my debit card COUNTLESS times in the past) then try to come at me because I simply dont have cash on hand? I'm ordering delivery because I don't want to go out. Meaning I'm NOT going out to the bank either. Horrible customer service. This is a solid Japanese restaurant that has recently opened up in Brownsville. We stopped by for lunch one day and they actually have great (and decently priced) lunch combos - both for sushi and entrees. The orders take a while to be prepared. I don't know if this was because we got everything to-go, because everything was thoughtfully packaged, or if they are understaffed, but either way, don't expect to be in and out in less than 20-25 minutes. Service was decent, nothing overly friendly but nothing to make me feel unwelcome either, and the restaurant - albeit tiny - is kept clean. I never order raw fish at a restaurant that is not well established, so I didn't order anything but cooked items here. I got the chicken teriyaki lunch combination, which comes with an option of soda or soup and california rolls or gyoza, for about $10 with tax. It was extremely filling and I actually had plenty of food leftover for dinner at the end of lunch. The chicken meat was good quality and mostly all white meat (although you have the option to get all white meat for a few extra dollars), the miso soup was surprisingly tasty with a good amount of tofu and seaweed, and the salad with dressing was fresh and crispy. A colleague ordered the chicken katsu combination and that looked delicious as well - if I ever get the chance to stop by here again, that will be my pick! My friend ordered the three roll sushi combination for lunch, and for a little over $10 she got a surprising amount of sushi (she ordered 1 spicy tuna roll and 2 shrimp tempura rolls) for that price. She ate her fill and had a couple extra pieces left over that I took home with me. The sushi was decently rolled and I could tell that the tempura - even a few hours after lunch - was freshly deep fried. The size of the rolls were also pretty impressive! This is definitely a place to check out if you are in this area of Brooklyn and craving some Japanese food. I can't speak to the freshness of their sashimi, but as to their prepared bentos, they aren't bad. read more

I am being very generous by giving Arashi 3 stars. The guy who answers the phone is very rude and sounds like he hates his job and hates people. He made me what to cancel my order altogether. I had no idea there is a Japanese resturant in my neighborhood. I ventured over after a long day at work and a visit to the doctors' office. Hungry as hell and on a FODMAP diet, my choices are limited. I love sashimi, but fear food poisoning. Ordered the 6 piece sashimi combo, added on the sashimi tofu, tabiko, and edamame. Gave it the smell test ( the fish was fresh) dug in...it was slapping. The fish was tender and tasty and my tummy loved it. Even better, the sashimi was served without rice which is new to me but I don't eat rice anyway. I will definitely be back for more of the delicious. The funny part is that is the woman taking my order kept asking you want sushi..no miss I want sashimi. I guess a lot of people on the block don't order sashimi ( please no fried or teriyaki anything for me). Definitely will be ordering again. As with any raw fish, I hope I don't get sick. The food was OK but the service was HORRIBLE. my boyfriend ordered me food online and didn't add the tip to the card. I wasn't aware and went down to get my food. Once I opened the door the delivery boy said "you add no tip if no tip you can come down to store and pick it up ok, we don't like you". I work in a predominantly West Indian community. Finding food to eat around there is very hard especially if you don't want to eat jerk chicken or any of the Caribbean style foods that they have in the neighborhood. One day I was craving sushi and I came across this sushi restaurant. I gave it a try because why not it's the only one for miles in that neighborhood. I was completely blown away by the quality and how good the sushi was. Since then I have been ordering sushi from them about 2 to 3 times a week and I've never been disappointed. In addition they have already remembered my number and whenever I call they already know what I am ordering to the T. They know exactly what rolls I am ordering, the drink and they always ask if I still want spicy mayo on the side. When I coming in to pick up my food the person behind the counter quickly hands me my food so I can go on with my day. I have yet to have a bad experience with them.
