This review is for their tuna sandwich since that's all I've tried here. I'm sure their other sandwiches are great but the tuna was just okay. It was bland. I'll give them another try soon.

Once again a great experience. Didn't want to eat what I brought to work for lunch and was like "Where can I go and get something and not feel bleh the rest of the day after eating it? Oh yeah! Duh!" Got a turkey sandwich (full) a bag of chips and a drink, all for $15 which isn't that bad these days. Especially when the food is quality. The cashier was super nice and I appreciated her help cause I was all over the place trying to figure out which sandwich to get.

I was pretty hungry and was interested to try this spot after passing it a few times. Upon entering we were welcomed and gave a quick rundown of the menu. We decided to order two of"the monsters" with all the condiments and chips. The monster is a sandwich that has avocado, roast beef, turkey, ham and Swiss cheese. We ordered one on sour dough and one on French bread - unfortunately both came out on sour dough. The sandwich was ok but the ingredients didn't scream quality and the bread was generic bread. The meat was sparse for a $16 sandwich. It's a little of a disappointment since I feel like you go to a sandwich shop especially for them having quality bread whereas I feel like I could make this sandwich at home.

Ordered a breakfast plate and a brownie from uber eats. Everything on the plate was ice cold, the eggs had eggshells in them which was impressive since they tasted frozen, and the toast was stale :(

I don't understand the reviews but maybe I'm expecting something different?! This is an absolutely no frills, nothing special sandwich shop. Nothing tastes bad... but if you're looking for a delicious sandwich, any type of special topping or creativity, this is not the spot. I got a blt on sour dough and that is pretty much what I got... two pieces of UNTOASTED sour dough (doesn't taste like sour dough tho...), lettuce, tomato, bacon. No sauce of any kind (ie mayo, etc). And it cost me $9!!! I honestly feel like I could've made this at home and it would've looked and tasted better. Not coming again....

The sandwiches are made fresh, packed with quality ingredients, and you can taste the care and consistency in every bite. I was excited to give Mr Sandwich a try based on the rave reviews, and while I may have come in with too high of expectations, I still really did enjoy my sandwich and especially appreciated the friendly service. Mr Sandwich has a variety of hot and cold sandwiches so I opted for a "Turkey Avocado and Swiss Cheese" on sourdough bread ($12.69). If you're looking for a specialty sandwich shop, this may not be up your alley, but if you're in the mood for a tasty but simple, homemade sandwich, then look no further. While I wish there was a bit more meat than the two slices of turkey I received, I thought the sandwich was delicious, very fresh and I loved how soft the bread was. The price was a bit on the higher end for me as I was still hungry after I finished my sandwich, but I definitely enjoyed every bite of it! Service was also wonderful and I appreciated that "mom and pop" feel and love supporting local businesses. Mr Sandwich is in a small strip mall with a few other restaurants as well so parking was a bit tough but I was able to find a spot after a few circle-ings of the lot.

We ordered 10 different sandwiches from Mr. Sandwich for our office meeting today through an online delivery service. I got the tuna avocado with sprouts on squaw bread and it was great. They did a good job on the tuna salad and it wasn't drowned in mayo like most sandwich shops. The sandwich was huge. Half of their sandwich equals to almost a whole sandwich somewhere else. And the sprouts was super fresh. 5-star. One of the sandwiches was supposed to be meatballs with mushrooms. However, there were no mushrooms on the sandwich, just the meatballs. I called Mr. Sandwich directly to let them know. Told them I would take just the mushrooms to add to the sandwich but the owner told me they would make a fresh one for me. She was really nice about it. Came by at 1:00 pm to pick it up and the person that makes the sandwiches was very apologetic. He made a fresh one while I waited. Super kind. He also put plenty of mushrooms on the sandwich. I requested to keep the sauce on the side so the sandwich wouldn't be soggy and he did exactly as requested. Mushrooms were a bit salty but overall delicious. The only complaint I heard was the italian sausage sandwich had very little sausage. I believe they cut one sausage to 4 quarters. Since the bread was huge, not enough meat. Everyone else enjoyed their order. Highly recommend Mr. Sandwich. Prices a bit higher than most sandwich places but very good quality. And they do not skimp on protein. Their small chocolate chips cookies are also very fresh. I love cc cookies but very picky and won't eat them if they are a day old. Yes, I can tell. :) Love them here.

My first impression was, "Simple, quick and easy for lunch when you're short on time," I haven't posted a review on Yelp for a while but had to offset some of the negative recent reviews. Reviews truly make a difference for small businesses and this one's a local mom and pop shop. I randomly stopped by but was surprised by the size of the sandwich (it's a double sandwich) for the daily lunch special. I had the turkey provolone on squaw and it came with a drink and choice of chips for $14.99. The service was friendly and quick . Menu is straightforward and they had a variety of pastries and dessert to go. The lasting impression? "Not looking for a fancy sandwich but a great local stop for a quick and easy lunch that's light with no frills! Happy to support local, small businesses."

Serving ice cream now! And I think they have extended hours til 8pm and open Saturday too.

ICE CREAM alert and Update: This place remains to be my favorite sandwich shop in the area. Good solid sandwiches with fresh ingredients. I had seen some new faces there but the new owner is usually there. It's not a surprise how hard it is to keep workers these days. Which I'm guessing probably contributed to some of the more negative reviews. Price has gone up a little but it's still very reasonable. I'm actually surprised they waited this long to increase. $14.99 lunch special remains to be an amazing deal. What really compelled me to do an update is... they started serving ice cream!!! Heard they are FOSSELMAN'S ice cream!! If you're from LA area then you know. I've tried coffee and cookie and mocha almond fudge. Soooo good!

This is an update I didn't really want to make, but I feel like I have to. As you can see from my previous reviews, I've been a loyal customer of Mr. Sandwich for years. I was always so impressed by the customer service, the food quality, the accuracy, and how quickly everything was made. Unfortunately, I've returned here several times in the past few months and things just aren't the same under the new ownership. Every single time I've ordered ahead, the order has been wrong. The person taking my order will even confirm what I want, so I don't think it's their fault at all. Sometimes, I'll pay extra for avocado or cheese and it will be missing. Sometimes, I'll get a completely different sandwich. One time, an entire sandwich was missing. When I pointed this out, I was told the sandwich would be made ASAP, but I waited for 30 minutes. I've been trying to give the new owners the benefit of the doubt, but I also want to be honest, especially with all the glowing reviews I've previously given. I understand that everything is expensive these days, but if the price is increasing, the quantity is decreasing, and my orders are consistently inaccurate, it's hard for me to justify purchasing regularly here. Hoping this is just a hiccup and things improve. I'll update my review if so.

This place is right across the street from my work. I ordered the salami avocado pepper jack sandwich with sourdough bread. Bread choices include the French roll, sour dough, whole wheat, squaw, rye, and white bread. You can tell that the salami was higher grade meat and the menu has a good selection of items with fresh ingredients. If you are looking for a cold sandwich with healthy ingredients, this is the spot. It's a nice hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop. read more

Fast and Efficient !! Yes, as crowded as it may get sometimes, the two or three people that work behind the counter are always on top of things. I'll order a sandwich and it's ready in less than 4 minutes, nearly guaranteed. I like their turkey avocado, meatball and mushroom, and egg salad sandwiches. A little over priced (average $6.49), but healthy and fresh and made very fast ! read more

I am absolutely OBSESSED! So I stumbled upon it on ACCIDENT two weeks ago thinking I was going to a different sandwich shop... then I get there & place an order for a simple tuna sandwich to go. I get home to try this thing... it was the BEST TUNA SANDWICH I HAVE EVER TRIED !!! I HAD to go back today for the full sandwich instead of the half bc the half was like a little teaser hahaha I got the tuna on sourdough & added cucumbers my pregnant coworker has been back there EVERYDAY after work since I got her to try the last bite of my sandwich. Great mom and pop place! I work nearby and come here regularly. Very friendly owners and service is amazing. They'll wrap your leftovers for you and pack it neatly to go. Sometimes I'll phone in my order if I have a large group. Owners will come out and greet us and give us cookies. They still value and appreciate their customers. I always get the avocado, Swiss with turkey on a French roll. It's delicious! And if I am feeling adventurous I add bacon to it. read more

I have phases where I randomly crave sandwiches all the town and I finished a run in the area & wanted to support a mom and pop business and I'm sooo glad I found this place bc of all the Yelpers bc their sandwiches are really good and well priced. I've been coming here for the last few years and every single time it's so delicious. My favorite item is the tuna avocado on French roll with an ice cold can of Diet Coke and some jalapeños on the side. Wonderful service - the woman working the cash register was super friendly and sweet. Our order came out very quickly with everything correct, and the sandwiches were delicious. Definitely come here for a great experience and reasonably-priced yummy sandwiches! I got the salami avocado and pepper cheese while my husband got the Italian cold cuts. Mr sandwich has become my favorite sandwich place in this area. It's super easy to place your order ahead online or by calling, and the wait for you food is never long. The sandwiches here are always so good no matter which one you order! I skipped out on breakfast since I didn't want to be late for work. However, I arrived at my workplace super early, so I thought to grab some food around the area. Mr Sandwich was one of the few places open early, so I hopped on by. The lady at the cash register was rlly sweet. It also seemed that the store was manned by two people (her included), and I didn't have to wait for long for my sandwiches. I was a bit confused on the options since I wasn't aware that I had to pick what bread I wanted. The lady was very patient and let me know which options were sliced and whatnot. The portions were large for sandwiches, and I was quite happy with that haha~ I do have a rather large appetite, but I had also intended to share the other portions with my coworkers. I had ordered the chicken salad sandwich (whole) for myself, the ham and cheese (whole), and two portions of potato salad. I wasn't able to get a picture of the ham and cheese...but the chicken salad was really good :)) It was probably one of the best I had read more

You looking for an amazing sandwich?! THIS is your place! I would give 10 if I could but yelp doesn't allow that. The chicken salad is my FAVORITE! They have fountain drinks as well as other teas, Snapple, soda etc. they also have some of the best cookies ever! This is my favorite sandwich place located local to our business and I will FOREVER give them my business. I can't say enough good stuff. They made your sandwich faster than you can order so even if there's a line it doesn't take long to get your order. Seriously LOVE this place. Staff is welcoming and always smiling and it's very clean! Totally suggest trying it at least once! read more

My go to for lunch. I always get the veggie sandwich and it's always so good! I mean, I know I can make this at home but let's be real, most of the time I'm way too busy to do all that. It's nice to have a place that makes something simple and delicious. The staff is also very friendly. My only complaint is that sometimes I tell them extra tomatoes and they don't do it. But not a big deal. read more

I've always loved this sandwich spot. It appears to be a family owned business. They've always been very accommodating and have never hesitated to give extra with the toppings and dressings when requested. Every time I've been there, they've always had a several others eating there and do good business being that it's located near business. I strongly recommend their Tuna. Yes, I have to agree, the best sandwich that I have ever eaten. I ordered a small turkey, avocado, and Swiss sandwich with lettuce and mayonnaise on squaw bread. First of all don't let the small size fool you, it's a very filling sandwich and actually the size of a regular sandwich but lots of extra fillings, unfortunately, I didn't have room for my chips or cookie after eating it. The ingredients are super fresh as well as the bread. The online ordering platform on their website is great, sandwich made quick and exactly as requested. I'm looking forward to my next sandwich. Obsessed with the turkey, pepper jack, and sautéed mushroom sandwich I buy when I get the chance to head over to Mr.Sandwich. No joke, I dreamed about the sandwich last night (a bit much, I know), so I had to head over today to get my fill. If you live in Irvine/Tustin or work in the area, do stop by and make yourself incredibly happy. :) And the owners are super nice too! One of them gave my sons free cookies when we came in today. read more

Been coming here for years! The owners are awesome and remember who you are and what you like! They make a great sandwich. The squaw bread is delicious! I love to get the turkey avocado swiss or the roast beef avocado swiss! It is and wonderful small business mom and pop place! Have to say the sandwiches are pretty big and can eat a half for lunch and an other half for dinner. To heck with big chain places support small businesses! read more

SIMPLY THEE BEST. HANDS DOWN, NO COMPARISON. I've been coming here since 1997. Still- very day, consistently great, great, great!! The family who's owned this deli has only given great customer service, quality REAL food, not fake, not processed, all with compassion. Theresa, you're doing a great job and it's always a pleasure to see everyone. My meal recommendation: They have thee best chicken salad anywhere- period. PROS: VERY fast service, online ordering for pick-up/delivery, large portions (Option to oder half-sandwiches). CONS: Limited parking (Especially during lunch). Would recommend to anyone who needs food fast that isn't fast food. They're sandwiches but they definitely stack 'em. ----- I come here when I know I need a fast but filling lunch with a reasonable price. Because I work in a health office, I usually am pressed for time if I don't pack a lunch and have to go out. This place HUSSLES. I've never waited longer or even close to ten minutes and have always been full with just a half-sandwich. I ordered The Monster full sandwich my first time here (Before I realized how big thr portion sizes were) and was super full with just the half so I kept the other half for lunch the next day. Nowadays, I stick with the half unless I need multiple meals out of it. They have so many options and you can customize your sandwiches too. Soups, chips, drinks, and fruit are also available as sides. Basically, it's the perfect lunch spot if you're working on a budget and need to get back to work in a timely manner. The real issue would be finding parking, as it's a relatively small lot for the number of businesses in the plaza. I'd suggest ordering over the phone or via Yelp to pick up so you don't struggle to find parking and then still have to wait to order. Lines definitely form during lunch because I think word's gotten around about how fast their service is. read more

First impressions are important and the staff at Mr. Sandwich was positively impressive. Within 15 minutes, and during the busy lunch rush, they successfully completed the big order I made in-person to pick up for everyone at my office; 5 sandwiches, 3 salads, and more! The staff were courteous, patient, and professional, especially the kind lady taking my order at the register. The sandwiches were quality-made and stuffed perfectly (not skimpy). I ordered the Vegetarian E and it was delicious. Without a doubt, I will return & tell my friends. read more

Uhm I was literally in here for 5 mins ordering one sandwich, which was not even for me, but those short 5 minutes was just ALL good vibes. It's a tiny, not super fancy place, but man, they are not skimpy on the AC. I kind of wish it took longer to make the sandwich so I could stay in there. It's like the ladies in the back were listening to me order and just crafing the sandwich as I was paying because I sat down and it was already finished @.@. The employees were super sweet and smiley. What a nice change of pace in life. read more

Upon entering the establishment, we browsed the menu for a couple minutes and came up to the counter when we were ready to order. Not a huge deal, my husband went up to ask for it and the guy at the bar was very nice, even gave us extra sauce. We got to eating and when my husband took a bite of his sandwich, he bit into bacon and we do not eat pork! He was very upset and doesn't like to make a fuss (normally would eat the sandwich even if it was the wrong order) but again, we do not eat pork and not eating pork is a big deal to us so he just wanted the sandwich he ordered. I went to the register to ask if we can have the correct sandwich made and let them know they can take the other sandwich back and once again the guy from the bar came to help, our original cashier did not want to make eye contact, didn't bother coming up to the register or apologized for anything. We felt bad because they threw away the whole sandwich, which I know is the typical process for the food industry but still sad seeing the food go to waste. While we were waiting for the correct sandwich, Kadence was still giving us dirty looks so we decided to go eat outside and from outside we could still see her in the window continuing to give us dirty looks! Laughable at this point. My husband and I are both very friendly and understanding people, we always love to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was having a bad day and it was an honest mistake, but her demeanor just made things very uncomfortable. Overall, we would not come back to this location as there are two other locations closer to where we live and their staff is always very friendly and helpful.

I was seriously in the mood for a good, old-fashioned sandwich from a small, family-run place, and Mr. Sandwich was exactly what I was hoping for. The fact that it's right next to Janny's Donuts? Total bonus--who doesn't love a donut after a sandwich? I couldn't decide on just one, so I ended up ordering two sandwiches: a chicken salad on a French roll and a turkey bacon avocado on toasted sourdough. Both were absolutely spot-on. The chicken salad was creamy without being heavy, and the French roll was fresh and soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together. The turkey bacon avocado on sourdough was equally fantastic--the bacon was crispy, the avocado was perfectly ripe, and the sourdough had just the right amount of crunch from being toasted. Every bite was like a little piece of sandwich heaven, and I left feeling full and totally satisfied. The service was another highlight. The woman who took my order was super friendly and made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time there. It's the kind of personal touch you rarely find in big chains, and it really made the experience that much better. The menu is packed with options--almost too many, in a good way! I would rate Mr. Sandwich a half-step up over the major sandwich/sub chains in quality but it's my most reliable stand-by in terms of producing a decent lunch that I can get around the corner from where I work. When I stop in, it's usually on my way back from a meeting.There is a decent selection of meat and veggie orders to choose from. Your best value is the daily special, which is posted on a little sign next to the register. Ingredients are a tad fresher and the service is a tad nicer than in the national chains. I usually order something on French bread (meatball or chicken salad) and the ingredients commonly overflow out of the bread ... I've been known to start off using a fork. Also, it takes just a few minutes to get your order. Notes:(1) Inside is tiny, just a few tables. There are also tables outside on the walkway but they are just a few feet from parked cars. I order to-go every time (ambience is unexciting).(2) Because there are three fast-food restaurants sharing the same little shopping center, the parking is majorly congested during the weekday lunch rush. Expect to spend time circulating if you arrive between noon and 12:45.(3) Daily special = $8.50 = sandwich + bag of chips (Frito-Lay brand) + regular fountain drink. read more
