Stopped by Mr Pimento tonight to get the jerk Mac and cheese. It was so flavorful and cheesy. The spicy jerk sauce that was orange was good too. The food truck is cute and clean with seating all around the venue. We can't wait to come back and try the oxtail!

Absolutely delicious!! We got the oxtail special, Clay said it's offered every 2 weeks now only through preorders but man was it worth it! We also got the sweet plantains and it was so good. We will definitely be back!

    Patio area, plenty of seating!

Right off the bat, the owner of this place saw us looking at the menu and wanted to help us make the right decision. He explained his take on quality driven Jamaican Food and was really hospitable and easy going. Food was flavorful , balanced, had ingredients that made you feel good: beans, slaw, rice, and of course the delicious jerk chicken-- the meal was non greasy, light and rich, and the Jerk chicken was the star (Mac was delicious too) . Was such a great meal after my 16 mile run. As for ambiance, open seating was great, weather was perfect, and owner, Clay, was beyond genuine. Mikey

Mr pimento recently moved to North Austin where they're now located at the pink flamingo food court. They also revamped their menu so that you can customize your bowls based on your taste. I got to try the island rice bowl and the mac & cheese bowl, which comes with your choice of protein, toppings, and sauces. You can also order sides like a Jamaican beef patty, plantains, and wings. Overall, I think the chicken has amazing jerk flavor and the mac n cheese is really good! They have outdoor picnic tables and there's plenty of parking. They are friendly too, you can tell they're passionate about their work.

Mr. Pimento's Jamaican Food Truck at the Pink Flamingo Food Truck, next to The Water Tank off McNeil, is delicious! Shout out to Clay, Mike, and Sean for the excellent hospitality and making us feel like part of the family. The bowls are excellent, and it is tough to choose my favorite. I'd maybe suggest the half and half to get rice and mac 'n cheese. I'm a sucker for sweet plantains and these are so tasty. Get an empanada too, your taste buds will thank me. Also, you need to get their hibiscus drink. The food isn't spicy too accommodate everyone but there are ways to make it spicy with their sauces. Thanks for a great lunch!!

A great meal indeed. A truck stationed in a easy to access parking lot area operated by two cool brothers! The service was friendly and smooth they give you a pager to let you know when you're order is ready too. The jerk was kicking with spice and flavor and to balance it all out the fire Mac n cheese! I ordered 2 orders of jerk chicken and killed it all! Definitely a must try when in Austin. Also it's located near a food mart if you want drinks to pair with your meal!

Finally got to try Mr. Pimento at the Buzz Mill for dinner on a Wednesday night. It's a jerk kitchen with a lot of flavor! Overall I liked the food a lot (ate almost every bite, and others were reaching in for a try too). The Food: - jerk mushrooms with the big up fries - wish the ratio of mushrooms was a little heavier because I had a few more fries than mushrooms left. little heavy on the sauce and the charred flavor, if you're looking for that to cover any mushroom flavor - jerk chicken: a little less sauce, little more meat-flavor focused - has to be the best seller - Plantains: crunchy on the edges, softer in the middle, a little sweet, fried and warm - my favorite part Thank you to the team at Mr Pimento for the kindness and the food! I'll be back for my next craving.

I was curious to see who took over the food truck of one of my favourite BBQ spots and it turned to be Mr Pimento, jerk chicken and such. I definitely had to check this place out. On my first visit, I really enjoyed the Jerk Chicken and Mac n Cheese, jerk chicken served alongside a hearty pasta dish made with cheddar, gouda and secret cheese sauce. Extra creamy, extra cheesy! The chicken was very savory and the sauce had my lips tingling, just the way I like my Jerk Chicken. My second visit was as eventful as my first. I had the Jerk Chicken and Big Up Fries. The Jerk chicken didn't leave my lips tingling and the Big Up Fries topped with parmesan, scallions, thyme, and cilantro. Garnished with caramelized sweet plantains and gently drizzled with Mr.Pimento's Jerk Sauce were a bit too much for my palate. Mr Pimento is doing an amazing job but I do not plan to visit again until after January 11, 2023 when he plans have more staffers so he can concentrate on keeping that wow factor afloat that I experience on my first visit.

Mix the jerk sauce which appears to be ketchup with some spices with the firefly sauce o get something kind of close to jerk sauce

The food is cooked well. But they do cater more to a pallet everyone can be ok with. If you are used to real Jamaican spices and flavor, authentic Jamaican food. You won't be satisfied, this is not it but it's good food. I try all the new Jamaican spots that pop up in Austin because I love me some curry goat but don't be wanting to put the time in. Bikkle has been the best so far in the austin area.

Overall it was pretty delicious and authentic! Also, huge portions of food! Ordering it to go was a good choice because we took the leftovers home. They said it would be about 20 minutes for food since they were slammed, but I appreciate knowing it was made to order, so no problems there. Tried the Kaeng Panaeng and it was good overall. Huge portion size but wasn't quite what I was expecting. Salad was pretty standard but I'm glad they kept it separate so it wouldn't wilt from the heat. As for the chicken, I was hoping by itself it would be more thai inspired/marinated/seasoned but it's effectively just chopped up chicken tenders to be dunked in the curry. The curry is flavorful, albeit a bit watery, which I wish was reduced a bit. But if curry is not your thing, my friend's Kai Zabb was very good: tangy, sweet and heat all at once, so good to really switch up bites. And while I wasn't expecting sticky rice, I can't help but say it's the first time I've had thai fried chicken without it. All in all, I think its a great new place to try out, but if you've had thai fried chicken before, just temper your expectations.

Today I called a head to place my order. When arrived Fernanda asked my name, she rang up my tacos for $5 in total and I was off for my morning exercise regiment. The environment this morning was laid-back yet busy. There were a number of people in the restaurant, however, they were leisurely eating that tacos and engaging in conversations.

They took "to go" more seriously than other place ever because my food was out before I could even finish looking around. This was much appreciated since I was already in a rush. According to Tammy, the owner, this family-owned truck serves authent ic pacific island food from Maui, Guam, Philippines, and Okinawa. It was nice talking to Tammy as she was super engaging. She draws you in with the Pacific Island history, cooking techniques and family traditions. I learned Tammy's family has a family crest which is tattooed on family members only. You have to obtain permission to get the tattoo and only one woman creates the tattoo. She indicated that their family is mainly from an area near Hana affectionately called the divorce road to Hana. My hubby and I drove up the road to Hana, which was treacherous...many one lane areas where only one car can pass and many blind curves. While the hubs and I are still married, next time we will take a helicopter to the waterfalls in Hana. Smile. I ordered the Teriyaki & Shoyu Chicken bowl. The chicken was tender with a deep, smoky char that Pacific Flame Island gets from their black iron grill. The accompanying rice was flavorful and enjoyable to eat.
