I love this place! I can't stop coming back. If you love bbq, then this is the place for you. They have all kinds of bbq beef, some bbq chicken, bbq turkey, grilled shrimp, grilled bread, and even grilled pineapple! So delicious. You get a little spinning sign at the table: red to stop the food and green to keep it coming. My table is always on green! There's also a buffet section filled with appetizers and desserts, which is also filled with delicious items. I wish I could eat forever when I'm here but my stomach can only hold so much... The service here is also great. The servers are always passing by and offering you more food with a smile. They're very enthusiastic about the meat they are carving for you which gives the restaurant a very welcoming atmosphere. read more

A personal favorite. My typical experience with these types of restaurants is the lack of flavor in the meats, limited selection, or super salty. They have a great salad bar selection which includes cheese, meats, fish, fruits, and a few hot selections. My favorite meats are the arrechera, bacon wrapped filet with cheese, beef ribs, octopus, and shrimp. They marinate their meat before cooking and it can taste all the rich flavors. Wide selection of alcoholic drinks, i recommend getting the strawberry caipirinha with either black hornitos or vodka. Super delicious and refreshing. You won't be disappointed. Their crepes are also a delight. They are extra but a small price for amazing flavors. You could skip the crepes and hit the dessert bar which includes pickled pears that taste like Christmas, arroz con leche, jello, pudding and friend bananas. They offer free valet, up to you if you wish to tip. It's a but of a hassle to do self parking so just turn in your car. If you can make a reservation I would highly reccomend. There is a long wait typically. The only negative aspects is you might run into rude hostesses and long wait times. So plan accordingly but it's a great bargain read more

I was blown away by this place! Absolutely the best Picanha melts in your mouth! The food, amazing, tons of choices already available at the salad bar! They even have roasted bone marrow bones! Better than the other Brazilian Restaurants in TJ! I came on Saturday the 14th at noon when they opened! Ate here today. Food was great. BUT HORRIBLE VALET. they lost my car lost my keys. I found my car parked up the street We had to wait two hours for them to find a locksmith and get new keys made. My car is push to start so it's pricey for the new key. Which yes the restaurant covered. BUT, then they find my keys as I drive off. I wound up here after a day of trying to file a report for my car that was stolen 2 days ago in Tijauna. I needed a cab to get back to the US Border. Jason called the cab for me. I didn't know what a "Brazilian" steakhouse was, but it's apparently a place that serves up samples of many types of steak and other meats. I'm not a big steak fan or meat lover, but all the selections I tried were good. Most importantly, they were tender, so I could enjoy the taste without it feeling like work to chew it. Still, for me, the highlight was the salad bar, which had a wide selection of green, pasta, potato ad other salads. Salad bars are rare these days, and GOOD salad bars are even harder to find. This one also offered rice, eggs, cheese and other items. I'd go back for the salad bar alone. There's a dessert bar, too. Not bad but not great. Overall, though, it was a very pleasant dinner. Staff are courteous and attentive, and the atmosphere is casual but clean. I always come to Mr. Pampas when ever I'm in TJ since it's a must. The buffet has wide selections from different salads and side dishes like sushi, ceviche, soups, breads, pastas but very minimal dessert options. The meat is good and they do have a variety of different cuts but I would recommend going for dinner because for lunch they don't really bring out all of the meat selections. The servers and hosts are very attentive but if you're waiting around to have a specific cut of meat then you're going to have to tell them to come to your table. All in all, this place is worth a visit whether you're in Tijuana or if you're willing crossing the border. read more

So my wife and I were going to TJ to eat and do a little bit of shopping. We asked the taxi driver to recommend a good place to eat that wasn't typical. He said that he would take us to his favorite place to eat. He asked an amazing question before proceeding: 'Do you like meat?" I smiled. He drove on. We arrived at Mr Pampas and just the name alone told me it was a going to be fun. He pulled up and said "You pay once and it's all you can eat. Very good! It's my favorite place to eat. " which earned him a really good tip. This place was so tasty and had great drinks too. I price was a little over $15 pp. Drinks were inexpensive but good. Many flavors were not typical Brazilian, but a more Mexican version of same. Service was very good and several meat cutters learned what I liked most and started to make sure I got a cut of certain offerings. The salad bar was extensive with fresh fruit and vegetables. The watermelon and pineapple slices were so good. They had live music in one section, music playing all over and it was a Sunday, so NFL games were playing on multiple screens throughout the restaurant. If you're a vegan/vegetarian, stay away! Mr. Pampas is carnivore heaven! The quality at this place is up to par with the other two establishments you can find in SD (Rei Do Gado & Fogo de Chao). Come after 7pm and you're paying just $210 Peso (roughly $13.75 USD) for men or $195 Pesos ($12.79 USD) for women. This is a fraction of the price in comparison to the typical Brazilian BBQ joint in SD during dinner hours. We walked in during peak hours (7:30pm) on a Tuesday evening and though it seemed super busy the moment we walked inside, we were seated within a few minutes and greeted by everyone. The service is top notch and they are very attentive. All the staff speak decent English though it is the best bringing a Spanish speaking friend with you to make things easier! You can even make a request for a certain meat or cut and they'll be happy to grab it for you (request for their rare & juicy sirloin cuts). Remember to grab your plates upon sitting down (at the self serve buffet section) and put the little gadget that lets them know whether you "want the meats coming (green)" or "stop, I'm stuffed (red)." Trust me, once you're about 30 minutes into dinner, there is a good chance you'll be stuffed and already in a food coma. If you keep it on green, the meats will keep coming and coming. Make sure you're nibbling throughout the day to keep your metabolism kicking before coming here and feasting out! Mexico is known to have better quality meat in comparison to the states. Want the best meats? Their sirloin, bacon wrapped filet mignon with cheese and lamb shanks are THE BOMB! Make sure to grab those early on as they will become a bit drier if you get the last part of the batch at the end of the night. I suggest catching an Uber when you step across the border. We paid just $30 Pesos each way, so the total was $60 Peso, which is a whopping $3.93 USD. Much cheaper than a cab (and less of the hassle of having to haggle) and much more comfy too! I love Mr Pampas! It's so incredibly affordable given that it's an all you can eat Brazilian Steak House. The most memorable thing about this restaurant was the cheese breads, they are soooo good.
