This is for Mr. Gyro on qest Jefferson st. First off this was my 2nd time there. After first time I should have not went back. They are very rude!! The fries were really greasy the first time. Now they taste like fish this time. I called in my order this time and asked for a gyro plate with no lettuce and extra tomato and onion. The girl interupted me and said everything will be separate. Though I don't know why they can't just keep the lettuce idk. But anyways. She asked for my name. I told her and she rudely said "what?" I repeated myself then began to spell it for her then she rudely said "I got it" so I go inside and pick it up and the guy i think is manager or owner was also rude. No thanks ,come again nothing.. also last time I tried to order something and manager guy said no. Come back tomorrow. Lol. What a joke of a business. And its no where as good as Gyro Stop!! This place is nothing short of amazing. I frequent Chicago every other summer or so and I will say that I feel like I am right in Chicago when I go to this place from the take out window and the way that the prices are on the wall. The food is consistent, delicious and cheap. The portions are huge. The lemon pepper and the mild sauce or on point. Not the healthiest but definitely the tastiest. The area is a little shady, but the hood is home to some of the best food across the united states. Eat your Popeye spinach and go give this place a try, you definitely wont regret it. read more

An excellent place to eat a Gyro at 3:00 AM! I never suspected such an amazing thing as Mr. Gyros could exist in Springfield, Illinois of all places! Staffed by hard-working gents of Near-Eastern extraction, they had a full lamb Gyro, with all toppings and pita, and a side of spicy fries and Grape Drank prepared for me via drive-thru at 3:00 AM! The lemon pepper chicken is sooo good. They have a drive thru so you don't even need to bother going inside;I never have so I'm not sure if it's really as bad as the last review made it sound. Anyway I havent even tried the gyro or anything besides the chicken but I will be returning for more! Great for the late night. They even have a drive thru & now they have a T-bone steak meal now that I tried the other day that is actually very good!!!!! My other "usuals" are the Catfish filet & chicken wing meal or the Gyro meal add a cheese cup for the fries. Trust me you won't be disappointed. read more

Visiting Springfield and found this gem!! Enroute, my mouth was watering for a gyro, so that's what I ordered. Other customers were ordering dipped Italian beef!! Oh my!! It was carry out, so I had to eat it in the car but my goodness it was good. The Tzatziki was good (I wish it had more garlic). The French fries were AMAZING and has some secret spice sprinkled on them. Everything was simply delicious. I'm here all week and DEFINITELY going back. Yum!! read more

We received coupons in the mail so we decided to try this place. The place looks awful on the inside and out. When walk in there and the (so called) workers refused to wait on us and the guy behind us because they didn't want to stop putting up their truck delivery. While me and my boyfriend waited, a man that was high on crack was shaking beside me with his jacket wrapped around his head. He never ordered anything. He was just there...The girl finally decides to wait on us and she can't even pronounce the word "gyro" correctly and every time we said it correctly she would try and correct us and got a little rude. You would think if you worked at a gyro establishment you would at least know how to pronounce the food you are selling. We get home and they gave me the wrong order. Instead of a gyro I received a fried pizza square of some kind that had questionable ingredients inside. My boyfriends meal was correct, however the meat had been dried out to where it was more like a piece of jerky. We are never eating here again and I highly recommend going anyplace else to eat. read more
