Stopped by here last year, but never penned the review. To my surprise, they are share the block with one of my new favorite places, Black Forest Bakery and The Village Lanterne (see my separate reviews of both). Whenever I return to the area, I will visit at least two, if not all three of them! Tale of the tape: Garlic Knots Small - medium-small sized, they have a light texture, but the garlic flavor is scant. With just a bit more garlic this could have been a good, if not great knot. Drunken Grandma slice Plenty of vodka sauce covers the entire surface of the slice. The sauce itself is more savory than creamy, but that's ok, as it's decently good enough to merit getting it in a full pasta dish. Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad slice Plenty of grill chicken decorates this slice, which is fortunately not drowned in ranch dressing. It truly is the equivalent of a decent sized side salad with an accompanying dinner roll. While satisfying enough, it would be better served by a more savory Caesar dressing. Final note What really stood out to me across both slices (and the garlic knots) was the dough. The crust on both slices was thin, and crisped up with the crunch of a saltine, yet with the accompanying slight chew that together made a great base for the pizza. I love this place. The Drunken Sicilian Pie is the single best pizza I've had from any of the many pizza places in Lindenhurst. It's absolutely delicious, and if you haven't had it, it's a must try. one star for Mr. G's. My visits here brought mixed feelings. The first time, the pizza had an odd smell and aftertaste, not an ideal experience. Strangely, the quality seemed better during a different visit with a mostly white group. However, the third time around, the service was uncomfortable; the staff seemed pushy about payment, resulting in confusion and a strange incident where they initially overcharged. The pizza consistently had a greasy texture and that same weird aftertaste. Inconsistent quality and unsettling encounters impacted my visits. I am a student so saving money is ideal but i don't mind tipping, but that experience was not worth such high tip they were demanding. read more

The girl up front was screaming at the owner about messing up our order.we picked up the order the salad was all brown my pizza was supposed to be white with broccoli I got all white it tasted horrible we threw out the whole order. Then my GF called bc I wanted nothing to do with that horrible attitude and then she had received a bad attitude over the phone as well. Service absolutely horrible everyone but the young kid with blonde hair had a horrible attitude! We ordered a pizza @1205pm Sunday was told it'll be ready in 25 min. Went there was told it'll be ready shortly. My GF and I walked around for 20 min and came back @12:45pm and our pizza was just thrown in. I've been coming here since before I can walk. We ordered from this place on a whim and lord stay away! We ordered Buffalo wings - they gave us plain chicken wings. We ordered a mushroom pie - they gave us a plain pie and charged us for the mushrooms. They completely got our order wrong and when we called them about it they told us "well you gotta understand we're very busy with other orders" and they hung up on us. I have to say, Mr. G's is pretty okay. It's not the best pizza on Wellwood, but the service is amazing and the variety is nice. Some things just come down to personal taste, but the Sicilian slice didn't "wow" me. Not quite enough cheese and the sauce was just a little too tangy for my palate. The white slice, however, was really excellent and almost a meal on its own. Very filling and heavy, so make sure you're not going to play football or go swimming immediately afterward. The owner, though, was super nice and very welcoming. I'll go back as convenient, but man, he has a lot of competition just a few doors down. So, you really have to bring your A Game to Pizza Town. read more

All of them were different 1/2 eggplant w/1/2 ziti, grandpa pie, white with spinach, white with broccoli, sauteed onion and mushroom, and spinach Alfredo.WELL can't tell you which one we loved the best. OMG they were sooooooooooooooooo good. The crust was perfect nice and crispy. The toppings were plentiful and the pies were HOT. Visit Date: April 4, 2015 I came here desperately hungry after having my hair done at lemon tree. I had hair dye on my neck and I didn't realize it was awful looking until I got home and my husband asked me what happened to me lol. So anyway the guy behind the counter was being really nice to me and another guy who came in to order a hero was joking around with me. I think they thought I was a victim of abuse because of the hair dye so they decided to treat me nicely lol. I had a baked ziti slice and some garlic knots. They were both pretty decent. Nothing horrible but no wow factor or any memorable tastes really screamed out to my taste buds. I bought hubby home a pepperoni slice and a slice with mushrooms on it. He felt it was pretty good. Avoid this place. The kitchen standards are non existent. Chicken Parm Pizza Chicken was spoiled. Took one bite and my body rejected it and i had to spit it out. Mr. G's was recommended to me by a friend and the first time I ordered I had the GF baked ravioli. They were ok. I know you can't expect much from a non-dedicated GF restaurant, but it was nice to be able to order delivery with my family. Tonight we decided to order again and I had the nerve to ask if the meat sauce was GF. The guy who answered the phone didn't know and asked the manager on duty while I was on the phone. The manager unleashes a particularly colorful array of expletives stating, and I quote "what kind of idiot asks if meat sauce is gluten free?! Tell the a**hole on the phone, NO the f'ing meat sauce isn't f'ing gluten free! People are such f'ing morons. F'ing idiot!" I was stunned. I placed my order without saying a word about what I heard. But called after it was delivered to say something. What awful customer service. I will NEVER order from them again. Oh and just as expected, the food tonight matched the service. Tasteless. Throughout this pandemic they have been awesome, the drivers respectable and friendly and I want to thank them all for doing this job when this is all going on. For overall taste and quality, Mr. G's is among the best around. However it's a bit on the pricy side. For a whole pie, Domino's is a better deal. read more
