Self proclaimed Pizza Snob here. Tried this place tonight for the first time. Been passing by for months and finally stopped by. Firstly, the place is nice...neighborhood kind of place. Clean and well lit. The folks at the counter were friendly and helpful! Went against habit as I was craving a Tomato/cheese slice and glad I did. The slice was very warm, not blazing hot. I like it when it's very warm so I can enjoy it right away, which I did! The crust was crisp without being crunchy. The sauce, the most important part, was not overly sweet. Really good pizza, and bonus points for offering personal size pizzas, especially in gluten free crust. A lot of pizza places only offer one size of pie in gluten free crust. They also do a good job of segregating the gluten free from the gluten products. So a good option for those with gluten sensitivities or allergies. Surprisingly, the sautéed broccoli rabe was also very good - garlicky and bitter, a nice counterpoint to the pizza! Besides pizza, they have pastas and seafood dishes. It's the end of the summer and we're going to our good friends house on Saturday night. I told them not to make a fuss, I'm coming over with some wine and we'll pick up a few pizzas. (To Italians, that means a 5 hour visit instead of 7 hours) They made an antipasto dish to feed a small Army, about two hours in I said let's get the pizza! Walking in, Joes is a nice family run business. Saturday night and there's a steady stream of customers picking up their take out food. We ordered two pizzas, a regular 8 slice and a grandma Sicilian pizza. Very impressive, everything tasted fresh. From the sauce, the quality cheese to the perfectly cooked crust, Joes makes a good, well crafted pizza. Now we start to argue about money, we're both throwing twenties at the cashier. Was getting tired of the usual pizzerias that we frequent so I decided to Google "pizzerias near us" and Joe's Pizza was the first one to pop up. Read a few of the reviews and figured we'd give them a try. BEST DECISION EVER!!!! OMG!!! Without a doubt, one of the most delicious pizzas we've had in ages! Crust, sauce, cheese....everything was spot on! Having originally been raised in Astoria and Brooklyn, I've certainly had my share of very good pizzas, so, I feel pretty confident when I say this was on par with the rest! In addition, we also ordered some garlic knots (very tasty!) , a cheese calzone (it was HUGE!!!) and a side order of baked ziti (amazing!!! and, by the size of it, shouldn't even be considered a "side order"!) .....no complaints whatsoever! Can't wait to try more items on the menu! In hindsight, should have taken some photos but we gobbled everything up the minute the order was delivered. Which, by the way, was pretty prompt and even sooner than the time frame we were given. What more is there to say, but, from now on, Joe's Pizza will most definitely be our go-to pizzeria!!! By far, the best BBQ chicken pizza around! There's no shortage of pizza joints on the island, each having their own unique thing that makes them stand out. This place is their rice balls, and their BBQ chicken, whenever I'm craving ether, this is the goto spot! Today however, in the spirit of expanding my usual order here,I ordered the Chicken Parm Entre, and man was I glad I did! This is our family pizza place of three decades. There is no place more I would rather get pizza in this entire world. Tonight we're getting pizza and no one in the house wanted Joe's. No one wears masks there. Everytime I have been there there I think I have been the only one wearing a mask. There are customers (ones not eating), employees, and the owners all mask less or only covering their mouth not nose. A sign is posted saying CDC Recommends Masks but clearly no one inside cares what experts say about health. It sucks that people can't just do the right thing for public health. It makes me question what other practices they ignore, something I never did. Great pizza, quick service, nice folks, but either dumb, uncaring, reactionary, or some combination. read more

Oh, how I used to love this place when I was in HS! Whenever I come home, I try to make a pit-stop at this awesome pizza joint. Nothing is better than real Italian pizza from Long Island. The calzones are great too! Pasta is yummy - everything is good. You can't lose. The staff is a wonderfully selected group of HS kids, and some old timers too. I love you guys! Joes had a sausage slice which you rarely see and I asked for it hot and it came out near perfect. Honestly Joe's Pizza was the best pizza i had in long Island, between this or Mama's Pizza, i prefer Joe's Pizza, the workers were so kind and funny, the pizza was Amazing Cecelia pie is the best i had all my life. During hurricane Sandy and following weeks he was open basically around the clock for the community who had no power for over two weeks meanwhile on the other side of town you had Mama's pizza price gouging. Great pizza, heroes and salads! Staff is always pleasant. I started coming here because it's in walking distance from my house. I quickly realized that their food was ridiculously good. The calamari is fresh and tender. Their heroes are overstuffed and delicious and of course their pizza is made just right. So many specialty pies as well. We stopped at Joes after finishing up for the day and I have to tell you, Joes pizza is amongst the best. Not sure if everyone that works there is family, but it truly seems like they are. The pizza was flavorful, and had a nice thin crust which is a huge deal for me. Pizza should be thin but easily folded without losing its toppings...this pizza is great. I will be back despite it being 20 mins from my home. Huge plus, they don't serve you your slice on a paper plate. It's served on a real plate with a fork and knife. Mike does not honor his posted prices. This is a bait and switch pizzeria. I went online to view their menu. Called the number from the website. When I went in to pick up my pies and was charged way more for each pie. When I brought this to their attention, they tried to deny that they even had a website. When I showed them their website with their name, number, address and logo on it, the owner then told me that they didn't update their website. Mike would not own his mistake on the website nor would he even try. Instead he let me leave without anything. He lost a lot of customers in Amity Harbor because of this. read more

I have never tasted a chicken bacon ranch slice as good as Joe's pizza. My God, I can't even believe it. Chicken bacon ranch is my favorite slice, Ive tried a million of them, I get it everywhere every time. Joe's is hands down absolutely perfect. Not sure how any of the other food in the place is, ok environment, would recommend just for that slice alone. 10/10 for the slice. read more
