    Garlic knots

Went here with family for pasta night. Love the amount of choices you get. Garlic knots were very good an my carbonara pasta was decent. Also tried their pesto pasta which was tasty. My biggest issue is that my fiancé and I seemed to have gotten sick from the cheesecake. We took it to go and realized that we both had very upset stomachs after eating it. Willing to give it another try because my aunt speaks so highly of their food.

I moved here a few years ago now and my now husband took me here for the first time about a year or so into me living here. After eating there, the first time, I was like why haven't we come here before? The food was so good. I had been let down by quite a few of the other Italian restaurants we had gone to but after coming here, we go back for most special occasions and order delivery from here. We had our engagement dinner here. It is busy most nights. They have specials on something most nights of the week. Chicken night. Pasta night. My favorite dish to get there is the Stuffed Chicken Rigatoni. So good. Chicken is cooked perfect. And the SAUCE. really makes the dish. My husband loves the stuffed veal when it's one of the specials. I also tried a special one night, the salmon and scallop risotto. Wasn't a huge fan of the scallops but the salmon was good. We are a big fan of their appetizers as well. We have gotten the mozzarella de carozza. It's heavy especially if you're getting a pasta dish entree as well but it's delicious. We usually eat half and take half to go. We also have tried their prosciutto appetizer, our other go to. We also alwayssss get tiramisus for dessert and sometimes cannolis too. But the tiramisus are huge and taste so good. Definitely some infused Kahlua.

Came here for Chicken night on Thursdays which I never do and I was very happy with my order and portion size. The waiter was sweet as well! No wait buy maybe it's because it's winter but the place was packed! To start off, the garlic bread and salads were delicious and then comes the huge meal! Cheesecake and tea to go!

Grilled chicken over spinach and mashed potatoes.

Started off with a couple of apps and about 8 garlic knots were provided rather than bread. Fine by me. The fried calamari and chopped baked clams. Standard good. Nothing amazing but the calamari came with a shallow bowl of sauce instead of the usual skimpy bit of sauce that makes you inevitably need to ask for more. 2 thumbs up on providing a proper amount. When the entrees came out my chin hit the table. The pics don't do the meals justice. The waiter placed the dish in my hands so I could put it down. Must have weighed 12 pounds. My wife and daughter got equally impressive amounts as well. You may say "You got a lot but was it any good?" It was VERY good. All 3 were delicious. Grilled chicken over spinach and mashed, Sautéed chicken over shrooms and asparagus and fried chicken cutlet and eggplant over rigatoni. The waiter Greg was thorough, attentive and personable. I've been there many times for pizza but never on the restaurant side. Their pizzas are super fresh and they must keep at least 20 varieties at all times. Each one looks like it was just made.

Great food, friendly service, great dine-in options for lunch and dinner. Food is always fresh.

Called to make a reservation but was told they don't take reservations. So I had to wait 20 minutes to be seated (Sunday night for dinner) The service was great, the waitress was friendly and efficient. The plates felt like they took awhile to arrive, but they were big portions. They do provide take out boxes if you can't finish. The food: The calamari we ordered was hard to chew, and not so tasty unfortunately. The Carbonara I ordered was creamy, had the right amount of bacon bits and was customizable; I asked the onions to be removed. The chicken parm was huge, no way you can finish the plate in one sitting. Overall, nice, crowded, stuffy, loud, family restaurant.

Ambiance on point-old school Italian vibes. Great music-had a fantastic DJ, I was singing the whole time. Our service was fantastic, very freindly waiter with good suggestions. Food 5/5-try the calamari and penne all vodka Great vibes all around. Try it out when you're in the area!

I love coming here for lunch! They have such great pizza creations. My favorite is the chicken Marsala, it's so flavorful and I can taste the wine reduction very well. The guy behind the counter was very nice to let me taste some of the toppings when I first went there. I would definitely come back to try each pizza creation. The inside had plenty of seating during lunch time. I wonder what they're like during dinner time.

    Chicken Panzanella

Had tried their pizza and takeout a few times, but wanted to wait till I had a sit down meal here first before I gave my full review. To start with the takeout though, the pizza is delicious and they have specialty slice options galore, and perhaps my favorite buffalo chicken slice. A key theme here though, portion size, these guys do not skimp! Chicken parm hero was the same way, I borderline could have had that thing for 4 meals! But more than just quantity, the quality is still there. Everytime I've put in orders, they were always ready on time to boot. Now to the restaurant portion. Came on a busy Sunday night with no reservation and had to wait about a half hour, which is what they told us to expect. The place does seem to get quite busy, so don't be shocked if you need to wait. Once sat, the waiter was excellent, I believe his name was Roberto, very professional. They start you with some garlic knots for the table and the we ordered the chicken panzanella and the chicken bellagio. Now looking at the prices at first I thought I really was at the bellagio in Vegas, a little pricey I thought for Italian, but when the food came out, I got why. MASSIVE plates of chicken and pasta that I comfortably did get four or five meals out of by myself. Personally I think the chicken bellagio was a little under salted, but still tasty but the chicken panzanella was done well and everything was obviously very fresh. Definitely would love to come back and try more of their options, just perhaps with a bigger appetite, or more friends to share with! Atmosphere is also very nice, classic rustic Italian kind of feel without feeling like you NEED to dress up. Plenty of parking in the front and side with the attached lot.

We were greeted by our waitress & seated immediately. Our waitress was quite attentive. She was a pleasure to have around, I forget her name but she's a petite woman with long black hair. There were only two other tables occupied at that time and a few ppl at the bar. First impression, a nice cozy restaurant full of bold colorful decor, nice sized bar, maybe 5-6 sections in total. Drinks: the passion fruit margarita was amazing! I love that they used fresh fruit in the drink. My father enjoyed a coconut drink and sister had a spicy margarita. All delicious My nephews did not enjoy the lemonade (not sweet) or sweet tea (also not sweet). Also, there is only one choice for the kids' menu so we ordered chicken fingers and fries for my 5 y/o nephew. FYI per the waitress every dish is cooked to order so be prepared to wait Appetizers: I wanted the cod fish fritters but was informed they were no longer available and will be removed from the menu. We ordered the trio of empanadas which consisted of 1 cheese, 1 chicken, & 1 beef. My hungry teenager devoured the meat ones and I split the cheese one with my nephew. All tasty, no complaints. Dinner: I ordered the passion fruit (wild caught) salmon served over shredded collard greens & yucca mash (small portion but full of flavor sorry forgot to take photo). Every one else ordered a beef meal and were pleased. FYI: gratuity was included on the bill, she deserved every $$. The owners did not come over to greet us but the waitress did an amazing job checking on us non stop and making sure drinks were refilled and plates were removed in a timely manner.

That being said, parking around here is generally not great and make sure you look out for a few scattered no parking signs! Wait staff was friendly and very helpful, although a little bit slow to get us our food it seemed. Getting to the food though, we had the soft pretzel, beef nachos, and mozzarella sticks to start. Nothing that would blow your socks off, but good quality bar snacks for sure. As for dinner I had their signature which is LARGE and IN CHARGE while my girlfriend had the all dya egg sandwich, each with a side of fries. I think everything could have used a bit more salt, and that is coming from someone with a salt sensitive pallete, but also shockingly, I think the oddball of the egg sandwich was actually the star of the show, but maybe that is just the Long Islander in me talking. Although I just stuck to tried and true coors light, the cocktails looked good and didn't skimp on the pours, which is always a plus. The real attraction of this place though is the nautical charm right along the canal. Hell, if you have a boat, you can even dock right on the premise and likely have a better shot of finding a spot there than on the street for your car. You can risk parking on the main road, but there are parking lots nearby that are much more convenient. The speakeasy style vibe is very cool and the open bar/kitchen is fun to watch the guys behind it work their magic. Staff were friendly and very helpful, but my one qualm was that our server opted to try and just remember our order by heart rather than writing it down, everything came out right, but he did have to confirm with us that he had the order right. Starting with cocktails, which I think is where this place really shines, I got the pistachio martini and their signature old fashioned. On top of just how pretty the drinks are, they match it with the quality. The old fashioned is one of the better ones I've had and was my favorite of the two, but I'm not sure you can go wrong with any choice on their list! Then for food, we started with the blackened scallops and the pork belly empanadas. Both were tasty but the empanadas were my personal favorite of the two. The scallops felt a little over seasoned, but obviously not to the point of being inedible. For mains, I got the lamb meatballs, and I tried a bit of my girlfriend's steak sandwich. The meatballs and sauce were just as good as any Italian place I've been to and perfect serving size. The steak sandwich though was served on THE softest ciabatta I've ever tasted but still held together well and made for an excellent, albeit huge, sandwich. I think she beat me out by just a hair on this one. I had really wanted to get their grilled cheese and tomato soup, but they had just run out, but I think they were just coming up with an elaborate ruse to get me to come back! Well, it's working, because I will absolutely comeback for more cocktails and that grilled cheese! We sat at the very last table in the restaurant, and this raises my only other concern, when the kitchen doors would swing open, you would get a quick smell of that garbage kind of smell which was a little off putting, but it wasn't constant enough where we were bothered to be asked to move our table, but food for thought. Surfing up just a few small things could easily have this place up to 5 stars from 4.

I was very skeptical about an all you can eat buffet. But wow, was i impressed. This was so much more than your typical Chinese buffet. And the place is huge with plenty of seating. It's also clean and bright, which makes it feel very welcoming. When we arrived on Saturday at dinner time there was a very short wait and then they walked our party of six to a side room. There were about 5 or 6 other long tables, each able to seat parties of 8. One other family sat down after us. It didn't feel crowded because it was like having our own little space. The seafood all tasted fresh and the choices were amazing. One section had an amazing array of fresh sushi. Another section had beef brisket, sirloin, chicken and some other proteins plus asparagus. They also had a ton of different seafood dishes, including snow crab legs, lobster in basil, flounder, mussels, oyster. Then you had the traditional Chinese "take out" type dishes - general tsos, chicken and broccoli, pepper steak, Mei fun, fried rice etc. Then foods kids might like, including pizza and chicken nuggets. The salad bar was small but had the basics. They had dumplings, Shumai, about 4 kinds of soup, white rice, fresh soup, desserts... the list goes on! It reminded me of a buffet you'd find down south! Really done right, with a lot of variety. My favorites were the duck, spare ribs, beef brisket and sirloin. I wasn't feeling very adventurous but a buffet is a good place to try new things. Which to me is considered lunch time?! I was in a bit of disbelief that they charged us dinner prices. I mean if they were going to charge us dinner prices. I was expected better options? Sushi station was lack lustered. Sure every roll looks pretty and what not. But when you actually look at the contents. It's all pretty much the same imitation crab meat inside, Avacado outside or vise versa, or deep fried. Regardless its just the same. The Sashimi was questionable. I played it safe and had the grilled eel with rice..and even that tasted as if it just came out the fridge....yesterday. Majority of the rice that was rolled was cold. Had a more "takeout" quality for majority of them. The cook stations were limited. There was a "fast food" I called it station which has your typical pork fried rice, lo mein, chicken broccoli, bourbon chicken, Mongolian Beef, etc. Hey! If you're into that go for it! The Seafood station were just all frozen fish, crabs, crab legs, and variety of shrimps. Most of them were doused with asian-esque sauces which was fine. The fried food station had all the things the kiddies would like, french fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, fried chicken etc. I do have to say though. That pan fried dumpling is the bombs! That is some old school chinese dumplings that you don't really see anymore at any authentic restaurants. Definitely gave me the nostalgic vibes. The grill/hibachi station. Although that weird marshmallow, orange? cream thing...was surprisingly good. Never had that before. Overall. Sunday. 1:30 PM. 2 ppl ... about $70+ for what they had imo doesn't seem worth it. But if you're into asian fast food cuisine mixed style then sure! Go on ahead. But for that price. It's hard to compete with others that have better selections. Service though is top notch! Credit to the hard workers that do their best to upkeep the place!

Good afternoon,…read more Well, finally got back to a wonderful seafood restaurant. This past week was restaurant week and the place was jumping. As always, we are never disappointed with the service or the food. This restaurant has truly found the magic that makes this business hop. I suggest downloading his app and giving it a try. Better than any restaurant in Freeport. Always fresh products and new features.

I haven't been to Popei's in many years and was happy to see that they're still around! On this…read moreoccasion, we went for a friend's birthday lunch. They have a lunch and dinner menu, with lots of selections! We wanted to dine family-style, so 3 of us shared 3 items from their lunch & dinner menus, and 2 desserts: -- Complimentary Garlic Bread: Fantastic!! We asked for extra so we could have it with our mussels pot. -- Mussels Pot with white wine, garlic & oil (dinner menu/$23)...Incredible!! So flavorful! Especially with their garlic bread for dipping! This was our favorite dish, and the perfect portion for 3 ppl to share. Get this! -- Pompei Special: a variety of seafood over linguini w.butter garlic sauce (lunch special/ $24): this was good but slightly bland. It would have been better with the white wine garlic & oil sauce from the mussels pot. But the seafood was fresh and plentiful. -- Stuffed Flounder w.lump crab meat and veg (lunch special/$19): very good. This was a lunch portion, so not ideal for sharing but a great meal for one person. -- Spumoni Truffle Ice Cream ($11): this came cut in 4 pieces, and was easy to share. Delicious and very satisfying! -- Tiramisu ($12): this was good but ordinary. I would try something else next time. This was a great meal. We wanted to have soft shell crab but it was still a little early in the season, so we'll have to come back next month to have some! Customer service was welcoming and friendly. There's a small parking lot in front of the restaurant. It wasn't a problem during lunch but I can see it being more difficult during dinner and weekends.
