    Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake

If you are looking for something sweet, Mr. D's is the place to be. We were checking out the shops in the Wallingford Center and popped in to Mr. D's just to look. Well, we just HAD to get a few things. Mr. D's has candy, ice cream, cakes, chocolates, bubble tea and much more. We were sold on the cupcakes and they were so delicious. We got the Lemon Raspberry Cupcakes, Toffee Cupcake, I Love You Cupcake and Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake. These cupcakes were packed with flavor with fillings and candy baked in. The Lemon Raspberry Cupcake was a lemon cake with raspberry filling and a pipette of more raspberry. The Toffee Cupcake had toffee bits baked into the cake and topped with toffee and butterscotch drizzle. The I Love You Cupcake had cheesecake baked into a red velvet cake. The Pumpkin Cheesecake was my favorite, cheesecake baked into the cake, topped with cream cheese frosting. Oh, and the cheesecake had chocolate chips, yum! The staff was so friendly too. We asked about many of the cupcake flavors in their case since these weren't basic vanilla or chocolate. The shop is very spacious. There are tables and chairs to enjoy ice cream and other treats. There is a parking lot out front, but it gets busy. Mr. D's is in the perfect location to be the go-to dessert spot after a meal from the many restaurants near by.

Putting the idion "kid in a candy shop" literally. This shop located in the main square of the beautiful town of Wallingford is a great stop. Decorated like a traditional candy shop, I stopped in for an oreo cheesecake cupcake post-lunch. The cake itself was moist and the blend of creamsheese and oreos made for a delicious, but not overbearing frosting! A perfect stop for dessert!

Much more limited selection of candy since Covid, but we go there for the cupcakes! They are always fresh and always delicious. On this visit we got a new one, peanut butter and fluff- so good. Another new one for us was a chocolate raspberry with the compote in a tube you squeeze into the center of the cupcake yourself. New pic posted with all the cupcakes we got.

The candy man, indeed! Kids of all ages, Goobers, Nerds, and Airheads will find a haven of sweet confection in this all around sugary shop! Bins and bins of colorful candies, jellybeans and chocolate covered delights line the walls, while jars of "penny" candy encircle the whimsical carousel horse. (I'm dating myself because "back in my day" those Squirrels, Bats, Mary Janes, Wax Bottles, Lollipops, Licorice whips, etc. were a mere copper!) You name it, they have it, but I'm not sure about those Whatchamacallits! Candy and novelty sweets galore, they have Mounds of chocolate and it won't cost you 100 Grand. But not just candy, Mr. D's offers ice cream too if you're mood is leaning towards the Milky Way. Specialty cupcakes and cookies fill the cases by the cashier so don't be shy, order your preference with Zero guilt! The selection is Good & Plenty! They also have a Whopper of a toy section in the back of the shop! Cuddly TY plushes, puzzles, games and old fashioned toys too, that are sure to elicit many Snickers and Chuckles. You're bound to Skor points with your little ones when you get them gifts from Mr. D's. They even have my fav, PEZ, a candy and a toy in one! The mini arcade Pop Rocks! And don't forget the drink menu! If you're hankering for a cool refresher or a hot beverage, this spot is a Lifesaver! Teas, coffees, hot chocolate and more! I loved the seasonal Peppermint Patty cocoa! Perfect for a Fast Break when you want to Take 5! There's a cute little seating area. So on your next Payday, go on a sweet shopping Spree at this fabulous candy store! You may feel a bit Chunky when you leave, but your sweet tooth will thank you! Pardon all the puns, but I was on a Tootsie Roll or should that be Rolo? (Insert groan here...)

A super adorable ice cream shop with a nostalgic feel to it. Old fashion candy and carousel horses, ceramic cupcake décor. It's all very relaxing, fun and inviting. I had a banana and lemon pie ice cream sundae. It was delicious. The staff was very friendly too. Don't want an ice cream cone or sundae? They also have ice cream cookie sandwiches, baked goods like apple crisp, a cupcake display, grilled cheese, pretzels, bubble tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. A pretty big menu for a small place.

Finally made it to this cute little spot in town. Was pleasantly surprised to see all the options here - ice cream, cupcakes, sweet treats, candy and coffee! I got 1 scoop of the coffee Oreo and it was $3.49. Also made sure to grab a turtle pecan! If you have a sweet tooth or sweet cravings - I would definitely recommend this spot!

They have a long list of ice cream flavors from their specialty cannoli, cake batter, cotton candy, black raspberry and more. The also have a ton of toppings and sauces. I got a chocolate dipped waffle cone with a scoop of blueberry swirl and coconut. The shop is very large with two fun photo op walls. All the toppings are on display at the counter. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. There are many picnic tables outside to enjoy your ice cream. I also thought the trash can painted like an ice cream cone was a great touch. I will be coming back again because I'd love to try their Neil's Donut Sundae. Neil's Donuts is right up the street.

The walls are painted in a cute ice cream sunday theme that I love. There are dozens of flavors and mixing options, and the staff is friendly and patient. The ice cream is creamy and richly flavored with large servings, so you get your money's worth. The only (minor) disappointment was it was quite cold in side. It was a cold and rainy day when I stopped in, but I still sat with my coat on the whole time because it was not warm inside.
