Donuts is in the name and absolutely get a donut but the drink menu here is also amazing. They have alternative milk options, many syrups, seasonal coffees, and teas. Of course they also have many donut option, I have tried the cake donuts, the long John and the cinnamon rolls which have all been amazing but I will need to return to try more of the menu. They don't toast pastries here but the service is quick. The location is within the Lenexa public market so there is plenty of seating.

Mr D's Donuts is always great. I just wish they would make bigger batches. I went to this location on a Thursday morning around 9am and they only had a few choices and no more than 50 donuts left. I know they distribute a lot of their product to other locations but I should be able to get donuts still at 9am. I have to still give them 5 stars because the donuts always taste great. I ordered the hibiscus, lemon, chocolate glazed, raspberry sprinkle and 2 chocolate cake.

What a great place! I tried them out with the good to go app and love it! I can't believe I waited this long to go there. Donuts were fresh moist and delish. The service was great! They come in a pretty pink box. Lots of parking. Quick service and coolest thing is it a has a old school diner vibe! Adore this place!

Mr. D's donuts has an old-school donut shop kind of vibe. Very cool. Everyone that helped us was super nice. We tried a couple of mochi donuts. Had a good texture. It was what I was expecting, and the flavors were wild.

Went to Mr. D's Donut Shop this morning to get donuts to take to work. Our team love it! I got a half-dozen: glazed, chocolate iced, Bavarian cream filled, raspberry and chocolate sprinkle donuts. At Mr. D's Donut Shop, staff is always friendly and donuts are delicious!

Mochi donuts!

One of my favorite local donut shops in KC! They're the only one in town that sells mochi donut (that I'm aware of). Only on Saturday's though! I live about ~40 mins from Mr. D's so by the time I get there all the delicious donuts are sold out. Luckily they allow you to pre-order in advance so I was able to get my mochi donuts!! The staff is super friendly and always has a smile on their face when you walk in. This place is definitely worth the drive! But if you're like and you want your hands on the good donuts, make sure to check their Instagram preorder! ;)

Why, yes, I do deserve a donut!

So I know people have very particular tastes and thoughts about donuts, but I cannot say how good these donuts were (and bonus, the service was AMAZING). Not being a native KC person, I was in search of a place to get donuts to take to one of my classes. I found Mr. D's and saw the lovely reviews, and had to try them out! Turns out this location is right near a friend's place, and it was super convenient to then get to JCCC afterwards--so if I wasn't already sold, I am now! When you walk in, you can tell it's a place that people love. I got there around 7 am and there were already a bunch of people in there eating donuts, having coffee, and reading the paper. So, if you need a place for those endeavors, go no further. Wish I could have stayed and chilled! When I got up to the counter, the person who helped me was super patient (you know, it can be overwhelming to be in a new place and ordering!). He told me what the common eats were and the ones he suggested. I ended up getting a mix of yeast and cake donuts that were fresh as heck. Bonus, if you expect to get a lot of dozens of donuts for work or what have you, they have a punch card! Buy 10 dozen, get a dozen free! So there's that. Thanks Mr. D's donuts for coming through on a random Thursday with the freshest finds!

The best local donut shop in Shawnee! I pre ordered the Chiefs donuts and the display was so cool! Everyone was impressed and they tasted amazing which is even better!

Mr. Ds is def my favorite donut shop. It's local, tasty, and creative. I love their honey dipped donuts and all their mochi donuts are solid. My 3yr old son loves going on dates with me at the lenexa market location. He always has to get his glazed donut and a naked mighty mango juice there! Recently catered 8 dozen mochi donuts for my daughters birthday party. Mr. D let me pick all the flavors I wanted and made communication via email super easy. The donuts were ready when I went to go pick them up, which is hard to expect these days! I'm 9mo pregnant so carrying 8 boxes of donuts is not the easiest, however the person at the counter immediately asked if he could bring them out to my car even though the shop was busy with customers. These little things really make a difference, and it really shows why the community loves this business so much!

This is a cute place. The market in Lenexa is kinda like a food court, with better foods and they have board games to play. I got Mr D's donuts - service was quick and nice.. the atmosphere was calming and at 8am on a Sunday - not busy at all. The donuts were perfect and although they don't have a huge stock of donuts.... They have a big selection and they are yummy. I got a caramel latte, which was perfect.

Everything flows. It's organized chaos done right. The seasonal drinks are consistently creative and actually good. Not just pretty for Instagram. Balanced, thoughtful, and well executed. And the bakery? Dangerous. The display case is pure temptation. Cinnamon rolls, pecan twists, danishes, cookies, scones. Everything looks like the right choice, which makes choosing impossible. They also have solid brunch plates and sandwiches if you're trying to pretend you're here for something other than sugar and caffeine. Now for the one miss. I ordered the pepper jack breakfast burrito, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to the rest of the experience. Flat flavors, mushy texture, no real identity. The hot sauce was doing most of the work. It felt out of place in a spot that clearly cares about quality. Thankfully, the bakery and coffee saved the day. The pecan twist was flaky, buttery, and just sweet enough. The seasonal latte with cold foam was smooth, balanced, and dialed in. Overall, McLain's is a Kansas City staple for a reason. Efficient, welcoming, and consistently good at what they do. One menu tweak away from being near-perfect. Solid 4-star spot. Would happily come back.

You are definitely paying premium for your drink but especially the baked goods as their bread is all made in house by Ibis Bakery. Now more than one barista helped me review the massive menu. Payton ended up taking my order: CBS with MIXED GREENS, MATCHA TEA and a MUDSLIDE made with SOY MILK! The space is very large with multiple seating areas, quiet corners, plenty of open dining and enclosed room dining as well. It has a walkthrough to the bakery side along with mini store selling cups, Messner Farms merchandise and more. Now I really enjoyed my CBS: marinated chicken, bacon, red onion, cheddar cheese, tomato and chipotle mayo on brioche potato roll.. sounds pretty good huh! It was devine! Those combined ingredients made for one of the best chicken sandwiches hot or cold (because I could finish it in one sitting) I've had! Now I picked at the chicken solo and it didn't have too much flavor but as a sandwich everything comes together well! I wasn't too impressed with the Mudslide.. it was dreary, no hit of chocolate or creme so I'm not sure what it was supposed to be. My mom said the match with honey syrup was decent. Everything for the price definitely ensured my only trip.

Maybe it's the former barista in me, but I just never know what I'm gonna walk into. I was bit extra hesitant as I knew from reading reviews that this place was a bit off the beaten path, and as I routed myself there and found my car meandering through a suburban office parking lot maze I became even more nervous about my plan to work from here. All of that being said, once I got close to the coffeeshop itself I saw a sign clearly visible from the lot which was my first breath of relief. The signage is spectacular for a fairly hidden spot. Yes, you need to know it's here, but you will find it rest assured! If you don't see the sign keep hunting. The nice thing about it being in an office park is that there is ample parking. I was able to park and walk right in. The inside is modern but inviting, and at 9am I was able to have my pick of the tables. The day I was there was nice and I had my laptop so I went outside to their patio. I worked out there for about an hour and when I came inside to take a video call it was packed! I was able to snag a table and purchased a sparkling water before using their wifi (which was great!). Now to the coffee - I had a dirty chai and it was honestly wonderful. No notes. The baristas were friendly and overall I had a great time. Adding this to my list of great work spots in JOCO.

This local spot is located in the little historic Lenexa downtown, which is itself somewhat hidden away now that the Lenexa Public Market is open and draws folks that way. Coming to this stretch of suburbia feels charming and quaint, and I love that there is a really fantastic local coffee shop nestled into this shopping center. Now onto what makes this place so special. There are tons of great cafes in Kansas City, but what sets Maps apart from the pack is that they roast their own beans in house and they are all super fresh. You can taste the difference in the brew and it's a nice change of pace to have something a bit different since many of the local spots in town use the same local roasters. Once you find out about Maps you'll start to notice other cafes and restaurants that use their beans. It's not as many as say, Messenger, but Maps holds their own in this arena. They also make their own chocolate! And when I say make, I mean make. They actually make the chocolate bars and not just the candies. Even more impressive, it's damn good chocolate. Honestly, if you haven't been to this spot and have a love for coffee and/or chocolate it's well worth a visit. The cherry on top for me is how unpretentious the entire place is. You'll feel welcome, and the staff working will be happy to chat your ears off about their products. 5/5 for me!
