Customers line up at the counter to place their orders. There were several cheese options for the sandwiches and burritos. There was an extensive breakfast menu. I would probably return for breakfast, but I wasn't overly impressed with the burrito I ordered for lunch. When I ordered a burrito, and was asked what I wanted on the burrito I started with asking for beans and rice. That request earned a rather puzzled look from the employee, and he said they didn't have beans. I guess I had just assumed that if they had burritos on the menu they would have beans and rice to put in them. So I just requested cheese and chopped tomatoes, lettuce, black olives, salsa, and chipotle sauce. The burrito was fine. The food quality was average to slightly below average. For example, an employee opened a large bag of shredded lettuce in front of me and dumped it into the bin. I'm guessing other ingredients were prepackaged and pre prepped. The bread is fresh, crisp on the outside but soft on the inside so that it absorbs the sauce without getting the bread soggy. The cheese is stringy. The sauce is a perfect tomato sauce, on the verge of being almost sweet but not quite there. And of course, the meatball. I've never had a better meatball. Perfect texture. Just the right flavor to make this sandwich an A+ in my book! I couldn't tell you whether this place is all about homemaking their food or how the other menu items are, but this sub is good enough alone to convince me that Americana Pizza deserves 5 stars.
