On the menu; A Night at Jonesy's with Chef and Owner Derek Jones. I can't begin to describe what a wonderful night this turned out to be. I called Jonesy's late this afternoon and spoke with Chef Derek Jones. He graciously set us up with a table in a quiet corner for dinner this evening and even greeted us upon our arrival at our table. We started with a bottle of Ferrari Carano Chardonnay and an appetizer of Candied Apples wrapped in Pork Belly on a bed of Micro Greens. An absolute melt in your mouth dish that's truly hard to top. Followed up with a spring mix salad with fresh vegetables and a balsamic vinaigrette. Dressing sounds ordinary but it is far from it. It was creamy and tart but smooth and didn't grab you like a lot of vinaigrettes. Carolyn had the Rack of Lamb and I went with the Filet of Beef Tenderloin. The lamb was so tender in a White Wine Shallot Sauce that made you roll your eyes with every bite. Absolutely amazing. I literally ate this huge Filet with my fork. It was grilled to perfection and topped with a Veal Demi and a Chardonnay Herb Compound Butter. The Lemon Garlic Parmesan Wax Beans were a family specialty and off the charts , Fingering Potatoes, Wild Rice , and Vegetable Medley really brought these meals together so nicely. We finished with coffee and desserts consisting of the most incredible Bread Pudding I've ever eaten and a Crème Brûlée that almost made me pick up the dish and lick it clean. The greatest part was that we ended up being the last people in the restaurant so Chef Derek walked me around and told me the history of his family and how he brought his old family's home from a dentist office back to its original beauty. Derek and his sister Tara are 7th Generation. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jonesy's, Chef Derek and Tara. Please treat yourself to the most enchanting dining experience this area has to offer. You will absolutely never forget it. Thank you Derek and Tara. We'll see you very soon.

First time here this past Saturday. I called first to see if we needed reservations and it was the owner who took the call and said yes as they only had 12 tables. We drove up to a house that was converted into a restaurant. We parked behind the house and walked along the sidewalk post a little rock garden with a bubbling fountain. There were a couple of chairs and a small table outside the entrance door you are editing for your table and it is nice out. Upon entering we were greeted and seated promptly. They have a menu of beer, wine, and spirits but no actual cocktail menu. We ordered our drinks and she returned with them and took our order for appetizers. We ordered the crabcakes and Brussels sprouts, of the two the Brussels was my favorite although the crab cakes were good. The ambiance was nice and the music playing softly was a jazz-blues mix. Our dinner was delivrred. I had the filet and the hubby had the ribeye. Both of our steaks were cooked, as requested, to a medium-rare. He had spinach and whipped potatoes with his ribeye. I had fingerling potatoes and mixed seasonal veggies with mine. Everything was delicious. I could not resist ordering the red velvet cake and coffee. Great way to finish my meal. Paying the bill is not for the faint of heart but I think this would be a great place for an anniversary meal or a date night. The owner/chef is Derek. Derek checked on us during our meal and also afterward gave us some history about the reasons he wanted to purchase here including family ties and getting out of the hustle of the big city. Pictures on the wall are his family.

    Loved it!!!

This place is great. Top quality food, service and atmosphere. The building and grounds have been beautifully restored. It's hands-down the nicest spot in Connersville, but rivals many high end spots we've been to all over the country (Capital Grille, anyone?). Started with a coat check, which is always nice. The chef (Derrick) came out to greet us after we were seated. All the staff was polite, helpful and very attentive - our drinks never had a chance to even get half empty. We were seated in the room with a beautiful fireplace and really nice atmosphere. We had the crab cakes appetizer, which were some of the best I've ever had (and I'm from Florida, I know my crab cakes!). Steaks were perfect, mashed potatoes were wonderfully seasoned and like a cloud. Everything was great. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert, and it was also fantastic (!!). If you're looking for the perfect spot for a date night, special event, or just a really nice dinner, this is it. If you're from out of town, it's worth the drive!

I have heard a lot about Jonesy's, and after holding a book signing there we made reservations for dinner. The food is five stars for sure! The staff was so kind, and tentative, and the ambiance was amazing! Great lighting, and dinner in front of the fire place. I took a group of 4. Myself, my wife, and our two teenage children. We all ordered starters, salads, and entrees. We then followed it up with a wonderful dessert. It was well worth the price, and we will be going back next time we come to our hometown! It exceeded my expectations, and I could've possibly just eaten the best steak I have ever had in my life.

It felt as if it is under NEW Ownership. We were greeted by a grumpy older lady. We did not see the staff that we normally see. The servers that we did see were very nice. I gave the Servers the star in the review. They were the ONLY stars there. The menu had changed since the last time we were there, about a month ago. LOTS fewer options, more Pizza & Italian. The quality of the food was extremely lacking. My Wife had the fried shrimp basket. It had 5 small flat shrimp (like the ones at the buffets) some fries & a drink. If you took the breading off of the shrimp it was about the size of a guppy. My son also had the Shrimp basket. The shrimp was the same as above. He had 2 sides, about a tablespoon each, Cottage cheese & Broccoli Salad. I was looking for the Bacon Cheese Burger, I was told "it has been removed from the menu & replaced by the Smash Burger, much less meat in the Smash Burger". The server said "you can order a Smash Burger and add bacon & Cheese" (up charge). I opted for an old favorite Tenderloin, it was OK, nothing great. NOTHING was as good as we had ALWAYS received in the past. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED we will not go back

Mushroom burger was just a flavorless mushroom burger. It was ok. But not worth the 40 minute drive.

Seeing all the choices in Cambridge City, I went to Connersville. I haven't been to a Quiznos since they closed the store in Richmond. Unlike Florida, there aren't many in Indiana or Ohio. This one was in a Shell station and convenience store where a Noble Roman's used to be, not unlike the Quiznos in Richmond. The staff were friendly and helpful, and wanted to do the best. They even asked multiple times if the food was good. I had a Classic Italian on Rosemary bread. I don't usually try different breads since I'm not in love with bread already. I'm sure it would be good for someone else but it brought back a memory of some rosemary-infused potato chips combination. I also got a small bowl (the small is more than a few spoonfuls but not much) of the broccoli cheese soup, which is good. I've had several recent experiences with Subway and I still find the meats and cheeses at Quiznos to be better but Subway has closed the gap quite a lot. The overall experience was so much better, even in a convenience store atmosphere. Tables could use more attention but there were several available and that's a plus.
