Food was very good I will be returning for a delightful feast. However, I wasn't too pleased with the price of the naan. With how quick it went down the hatch, I have trouble justifying the price point but it's fine because the naan is good. Service was also good, very friendly staff. Ambiance was great

Very cute decor inside. Nice wait staff. Food was good for seemingly the only Indian spot in Richmond, IN. Ask for level 10 spicy if you want it to be a good spicy. Mango lassi was good as well. Very refreshing. Pleasantly surprised. They have a lunch buffet on weekends also but we opted to order.

First time here. Food/Drink: Entrees were amazing, everything tasted fantastic. The flavors and the smells were intoxicating! I had the Goat Vindaloo, and paneer. Bread and Apps: The garlic naan pizza was crazy good, mmmm mmmm! Dinning Area: Pretty large, and open. Prices: Relatively cheap. 2 Small appetizer, 3 entree, and a 3 drinks I got away for $100. Parking: Plenty of space, private lot. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and smaller in size. Atmosphere: During the weekend Dinner rush, pretty busy, but not unmanageable. Steady overall. I did not wait long. Staff/Attendants: Staff overall was Great, extremely authentic, and the smells! Awesome experience, if I'm ever in the area again I'm in there! 9/10

Yummy in my tummy! I love spicy food and buffets! Gulzars is a great place to eat, but I do wish the buffet was bigger and provided more entree type options. The chicken Tikka Masala is great and chicken curry-but it would be nice to have more variety and options on the buffet. Also would love to see a couple desserts thrown in there to try. Plus different types in Naan ect instead of just one. I love that kids eat free, but a couple more kid options on the buffet wood be great! I also love the spicy pickles!!!! The hot pickles are spicy and are very different than any pickle I've ever ate! They also have limited hours and the buffet is only open for lunch.. it would be great if it were open for dinner hours too! The service is always fast and friendly. It's a small quaint place and the cultural music adds to the ambiance, and is kept an appropriate volume to were you can still easily talk and hear one another. I'll be back, but really wish the buffet was bigger and had more of a wow factor, but still very enjoyable experience!

So 10 days on the road and one cuisine we have not had was Indian. Given this area had mainly chain restaurants this seemed like an oasis so we popped in. The place was almost empty on a Wednesday night. The staff was very friendly though at times inattentive considering there were never more than six customers in the restaurant at their busiest. The price for a regular beer (not Indian) was very cheap at $3.50 even for a Stella. We ordered the chicken Shashi Korma and the chicken gobi (with cauliflower). Both had good flavors and the hottest level we requested. The nan and raita were solid. The prices were typical and the decor very nice. Recommended!

Namaste! Gulzar's is one of my local favorites. We had a great experience here today which is usually the case - realized I'd never yet reviewed it. When I think of Gulzar's the first thing that comes to mind is the heady aroma of rich exotic spices that hits you and sets your mouth to watering as soon as you walk in the door. The dining room is comfortable, with booths, muted wall tones and strategically placed Indian artwork. There's a second dining room for overflow or large groups, as well as a patio dining option. All the classic Indian preparations are here - korma, curries, tikka masala, vindaloo, and more, with lamb, goat, chicken, seafood, or vegetarian. Biryani dishes, tandoori chicken, melt-in-your-mouth naan fresh out of the oven. The chutneys and raita are perfect too. The food quality is top notch, and priced accordingly - and so worth it. You can get Kingfisher and at least one other Indian beer here too and they are amazingly tasty and refreshing! The spice level option is 1 to 10. In my opinion they use a heavy hand on the spice, so if you're not sure start with a lower number and they will bring you some spice on the side, if requested, if you decide you want to kick it up a bit. I like spicy food but the level 5 killed me once. I usually stick with 3 or 4 depending on the dish. The waiters are very helpful and will answer all your questions, and they'll make what you want even if not specifically listed on the menu. We did the weekend buffet once, which is a good opportunity to try different things you may not have had before. It's great for buffet fans but you're unlikely to find goat vindaloo on offer, so we're sticking with the table service and getting exactly what we want. They also offer a meal for two option vegetarian and non-veg) that includes soup and dessert (Aloo Gobi) which is a great deal and huge amount of food - always enough for a second meal at home. The staff are all an extended Indian family and are very kind and welcoming. We have had a couple of service issues in the past, likely due to not enough workers on hand - but nothing to lose a star over. Today all was perfect. Highly recommended!

Naan, chicken curry, paneer pakora, chicken tikka masala

Another great find in my hometown! Have been meaning to try Gulzars for ages, ordered via Doordash for dinner delivery last night. Between three of us, we shared the chicken tikka masala (spice level 5), chicken coconut curry (spice level 2), Kashmiri naan, paneer pakora and raita, and had enough left over for one more good serving. The curry and the tikka masala -- delicious, although I wish the curry had been one notch spicier and the tikka one notch less spicy. Level 5 definitely brought some heat. I like it a little spicy, but can't imagine going above that and still being able to actually enjoy the food! The naan and the pakora were also good, but we didn't care for the raita, it was way too liquid with pieces of onion floating in it. Was expecting a thicker, creamier consistency. All in all, though, great Indian food on par with what you'd expect to find in a much bigger city. Would definitely order again. (I believe lunch is buffet service only if you want to go and sample a bunch of different things at once.)

    Chicken Gobi & Baingan Bhartha

An oasis of good food along the wasteland that is US40/National Road in Richmond, Indiana. We stop by when we travel through town and have enjoyed several flavorful dishes. Note that the Baingan Bharta (eggplant) has a very smoky taste. Friendly servers/owners. Also note that outside seating is available. A plus this visit, the can of Fathead Head Hunter West-coast style IPA was a treat.

Definitely a popular place. I noticed many construction workers but also several families with kids. The menu was fairly simple: burgers, sandwiches, burritos, chili, salad. Customers line up at the counter to place their orders. There were several cheese options for the sandwiches and burritos. There was an extensive breakfast menu. I would probably return for breakfast, but I wasn't overly impressed with the burrito I ordered for lunch. When I ordered a burrito, and was asked what I wanted on the burrito I started with asking for beans and rice. That request earned a rather puzzled look from the employee, and he said they didn't have beans. I guess I had just assumed that if they had burritos on the menu they would have beans and rice to put in them. So I just requested cheese and chopped tomatoes, lettuce, black olives, salsa, and chipotle sauce. The burrito was fine. The food quality was average to slightly below average. For example, an employee opened a large bag of shredded lettuce in front of me and dumped it into the bin. I'm guessing other ingredients were prepackaged and pre prepped. Employees were friendly and obviously this place is a local favorite. Prices are very reasonable. I would give it another try for breakfast but wouldn't order another burrito.

It's a curry noodle soup featuring soft noodles in a flavorful curry broth, topped with crispy noodles. My meal also came with a plate of white rice and a small bowl of broth with rice. I enjoyed the Khao Soi overall. The curry was flavorful and buttery. However, it was a little more watery than I prefer, and while it was good, it wasn't quite as good as the best Khao Soi I've had elsewhere. I also would have preferred traditional egg noodles instead of the wider white noodles used here. One thing I would have liked to see was more vegetables. There was certainly no shortage of carbs--I ended up with both rice and noodles left over. The small bowl of broth was tasty, but I'm not used to having rice soaking in it. Personally, I would have preferred vegetables as a substitute for the rice since the dish already came with plenty of carbs. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would be happy to return when I'm craving Thai food.

A majority of the dining area is not within the main house but within an added on area in the front. Their entrees are very approachable and reasonably priced. The only slightly ghetto experience while coming here was when they brought out the lunch special sign (a dry erase board) on a music stand and set it next to the table for a few minutes. Their entrees for lunch are heartier than just the handhelds and generally include a soup or salad, a potato and a veggie. Of course, the pasta I chose doesn't include a potato or a veggie, only a soup or salad. I picked the veal parmesean with a french onion soup. My colleagues and client ordered the single pork chop, cajun chicken (2 breasts) and the stuffed shrimp. Everyone loved their meals, especially my client who loved the shrimp.
