If you have kids, the outdoor seating is perfect because they can run around the plaza while you relax and eat. It makes it a lot less stressful than a typical sit-down restaurant with little ones. The only thing is the inside seating is pretty tight, so if it's busy it can feel a little cramped indoors. But if you can grab a table outside, it's definitely the way to go. Overall a really solid breakfast/brunch spot and a great option for families in the area. Would definitely come back.

I offered to exchange since it was full cup but they didn't want anything else from the coffee menu ++Chorizo bowl, small amount of chorizo, I'm not looking for a bowl full of chorizo but it felt like it was a sweet potato bowl with a few sprinkles of chorizo. The egg was perfectly cooked, but lowkey hiding the fact there was not much chorizo. ++Avocado toast, really small amount of an avocado spread, egg was perfect. The lunch menu might be better, and there are a lot of people coming to check this place out, we saw lots of big groups and kids and dogs it's in a good newer residential area, however these details are important when the item is called chorizo bowl, with little chorizo, and avocado toast with little avocado. So this is not a staff note, but probably a management note that they should put the correct product out.

The menu states that all dishes are cooked to order so allow atleast 45 minutes but we were pleasantly surprised to be served within 20. I had the Keto Breakfast with a side of toasted ciabatta and my friend had the Modern Egg sandwich on ciabatta. I've never been so satisfied eating healthy. It was so tasty and savory; the prosciutto and smoked salmon were fresh and we both had enough to save for later The service was great and a man who happened to be one of the owners, tended to us. The cherry on top was learning that it's partially black owned. This fact made me so happy because to me thats what community looks like - a neighborhood gem.

I ordered the Dragon Tea, which was super refreshing, and the Some Like It Spicy avocado toast, which totally delighted my taste buds. The flavors were spot on! Definitely worth the wait. Can't wait to come back!

The restaurant had a fair amount of diners; but we only had to wait 2-3 minutes before being seated. Our server approached us quickly and we actually had to suggest they come back so we'd have time to look over the menu. I decided on the Hunter & Gatherer bowl which consisted of some greens, chickpeas, farro and grilled chicken with a honey mustard vinaigrette. It was a huge portion and quite good. My mom had the omelette which was cooked to perfection and came with 2 slices of multigrain toast. Everything was yummy and the service was fast. Next time I won't wait so long before returning!

Maple and Cream - Honest Review…read more I wanted to like this place, but overall it just wasn't for me. The service was great--staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. The ambiance is also really nice, with a clean, trendy setup that's clearly going for a Southern-style brunch vibe. They definitely nailed the look and feel. They also offer a military discount, which I appreciated. Just a heads up though--a 20% tip is automatically included, so keep that in mind when you get the bill. That said, the food didn't match the experience. The menu leans heavily into Southern-style comfort food, but it ends up being too heavy and a bit overpriced for what you get. Food Breakdown: * Chicken & Waffles (5/10): The waffle was actually really good--great texture and flavor. But the chicken threw me off. It was cooked, but the inside had a pink color that made it hard to enjoy. On top of that, there was way too much paprika, which overpowered everything. * Banana Bread Latte (10/10): This was . Easily the best thing I had. Super flavorful, smooth, and perfectly balanced. One of the best lattes I've had. * Cinnamon Rolls (4/10): Not terrible, but inconsistent. One had some type of filling while the others didn't, and overall it felt like it was missing a glaze or sauce to tie it all together. * Potato Chips (10/10): Surprisingly one of the highlights. Fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. * Pancakes (2/10): Fluffy texture, but the flavor was off. It tasted like a mix of vanilla or banana, and once you add syrup, it becomes way too sweet. * The Daily Grind (Egg Plate): * Eggs: decent, nothing special * Sausage: had jalapeño inside but tasted dry * Bacon: thick, hard, maple-smoked flavor--not great for breakfast (would be better on a burger) * Biscuit: not bad, but a little dry (4/10) Overall: Great service, good ambiance, and nice perks like the military discount--but the food just didn't deliver. It felt too heavy, overly seasoned, and inconsistent, especially for the price. Final Rating: 3/5 Saved by the latte, chips, and overall experience--but I probably wouldn't come back for the food.

Today, I had some time between appointments and decided to finally sit down, relax, and grab something to eat along with my coffee fix. I ordered a croissant and a cafe con leche. Even though it was busy around midday, I was able to find a cozy table. My light meal was brought out to me, and I enjoyed every bite of the perfectly made croissant while sipping on my requested extra hot coffee. As people came and went, I found myself admiring the decor and the friendliness of the staff. The whole place feels cozy, hip, and welcoming. Before leaving, I decided I wasn't done yet and ordered a cortada (hopefully I'm spelling that right). I waited by the counter, but the lady kindly told me she would bring it to my table, even though I didn't mind waiting. It was divine as always. Even the unique little glass cup with its interesting handle stood out to me, and yes, once again, the coffee was perfectly extra hot just the way I like it. I truly enjoyed my alone time there. It can get a little noisy, but honestly, once you settle into your own little zone, you barely notice. I'm off for the week, so I'll probably end up back here again in a couple of days since I'll be in the area. All in all, Ella Cafe is a must try coffee shop experience. Great service, great coffee, delicious food, and an inviting atmosphere. I've also had their salads and sandwiches in the past, and they never disappoint.

The latte and beef empanadas (that arrived scorching hot) were very tasty. Price-wise, it's kind of steep, but nothing will taste bad, I guarantee you. My latte also came with a little biscotti piece! Shanina (hope I spelled it right!) was welcoming and quick. She didn't hesitate to change my order after there was a little miscommunication. I mistakenly thought they served tiramisu flavored matcha. That was before deciding on the empanada. The pins with silly, cute messages that were by the register got my attention -- I decided get a couple of them! I just wanted to share my experience on my first time to your cafe. It's a cute looking coffee shop but I cannot believe there's only one employee working doing everything--the order taking, preparing the food orders and preparing the coffee orders. When we first went in it was really smoky inside as if something had burned in the back kitchen. The lady was nice but we waited a long time to get our food. 30 min or more for a simple latte and bagel. We ended up being late for our appointment . And couldn't even stay to enjoy the ambiance, we had to rush. My friends cinnamon roll was burned. And we didn't open the box until we left. See photos i will post. You definitely should have more than one person working especially Friday busy morning. I've noticed a lot of businesses want to cut costs by not hiring more employees but in the long run the service and quality of food will go downhill.

Ally's Comfort Cafe - 136th and State Road 84 in Davie…read more I really did not want to leave this review. I tried with all of my might to do everything I could to not leave this review. Ally's comfort Café has been a staple in Northwest Davie forever. *Now, Ally, moved away a little while ago and new owners took over. They kept the same recipes which made us hopeful that things would pretty much remain the same. But little by little all of the staff that had been there for years started leaving. I think there's only a couple of the longtime staff left. We'll get back to the staff in a moment. My wife and I go to Ally's every Saturday morning. We go there have a great breakfast and then go to the Publix next-door to do our weekly shopping. There's obviously going to be hiccups when new owners take over a restaurant. We totally understand this. But some things are just not improving. They open at 8 AM on Saturdays. But, between 8 and 9 AM there's only one waitress and one bus boy this didn't always used to be the case. They used to have the full staff and someone at the door to take names. He would also help out by getting you drinks or more coffee if you needed it. It worked really well for the small family restaurant. The new owners took over and at some point they decided they only needed limited staff between 8 and 9 AM on Saturdays. And of course, every Saturday my wife and I go in there. It gets packed and the waitress is running around like her head is cut off and the busboy is overwhelmed. This isn't a one time thing it has been constant since they made the staffing change. It's completely unfair to the waitress and busboy and it's also a complete turn off to patrons who have to wait sometimes up to 10 or 15 minutes just for the poor waitress to come and take their order this morning. A couple waited 20 minutes before their order was taken. Also, the owner/manager doesn't get there until almost 9 herself, which means there's no management in the restaurant to help with the register or put out "fires." It. Is. Not. Working. Ally's has been known for their specials for years. They always have amazing special pancakes and special French toast. It's one of the main reasons we still go there. It's our little weekly treat. Lately the specials have been very monotonous. Some sort of jelly put on some French toast or some sort of cream put on a pancake. Not real imaginative for instance, today was banana cream and chocolate pancakes. It was a dollop of banana cream on a chocolate pancake that had little taste. One could've added some fresh bananas, or maybe some whipped cream on top of that. Meanwhile, the special pancakes and special French toast are often made wrong by the staff. This happened this morning. It took them twice to get the pancakes right and three times to get the French toast, right. Again, this is not a one time occur occurrence. We never complain. But we were surprised to still see those items on the bill and not discounted at all, but that's OK. The thing that really drove me to write this review, is that I waited for more than 10 minutes to speak to the owner/manager on our way out. I thought the best way to handle our dissatisfaction would be to speak to her personally. She disappeared into the kitchen, and even after the waitress went to tell her we were waiting to speak with her, she was nowhere to be found. No I understand things come up in the kitchen, but she could've at least came out and said hey I know you're here, I'm dealing with a problem, I'll be right back. But we waited and waited and waited and nothing despite all of the above, that's what irked me the most. I will say this. The food is still very good. And the waitresses and buses are amazing. None of this is their fault. They should all be paid more in dealing with a kitchen that can't get right and an owner that can't seem to figure out good customer service. We will certainly give them another chance, it's part of our routine. But after biting my tongue, I had to let everyone know what was happening at one of our favorite spots in Broward County.
