Saw the 4 stars review. I have eaten in lots of Cuban places specially the good ones in the Keys. The bread are warm , soft inside crunchy outside so it's perfect. The problem is the filling. Pan con lechon meat needs spices - it's bland and no flavor at all and very little meat on the bread. Media noche - this is one that it's good flavor and filling given Arepas - well - it's bland , no flavor on the corn mix - the only thing good about it is the cheese inside which was good and gooey. So, overall - I would not go back and try it.

Drive a little farther and go somewhere else; Publix empanadas are super FRESH. After seeing the nice response from the owner... people, PLEEEEEEEZ don't go to this establishment. The pastries are stale. I was not rude. She has cameras... she knows I wasn't rude. It's the only defense she has... making it. Business owner: visit other bakeries in town, Walmart pasties are better. And please teach the poor girl in the front how to smile. Look out for my Google review

I am so excited that someone told me I could get a colada and housemade empanadas at Ruth's Bakery instead of a coffee at Dunkin', in the same shopping center! Ruth is a treasure unto himself! Her passion for her food and her business shows!

Amazing! We got pastries and a freshly baked health conscious cake for an office party! The owner is the sweetest woman and so much fun! 10/10 recommend Ruthy's to everyone in the area! She will become our exclusive baker for Resistance Ranch

Ruthy's has amazing arepas, empenadas, pastries, and cakes. The owner is full of life and super kind! Come check out this adorable bakery in the plaza where Field of Flowers and Dunkin Donuts is located. Their Cuban coffee was excellent. I had a fish empanada and a chicken arepa. The arepa won best bite of the day! The arepa is baked instead of being fried. It gives a crunch outside and moist inside with deliciously seasoned chicken with onions and green peppers and loads of cheese. I will be back for more arepa! Next event, I'm ordering Ruthy's chocolate cake. It is decadent with strawberry filling and homemade chocolate flowers. Come try this hidden gem!

Reviewed this restaurant when they first opened because I was impressed back then and just went back today after not being there for a while because they are very far from my house but by my vets office which I hadn't been to in over a year... Wow still amazing!!! Had the spinach and cheese empanada and a cordidito cup of coffee both were the best I've ever had!!!! I'm definitely going to have to drive across town more often to enjoy this place, want to try more items! All you Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts fans should give this place a try if you like fresh quality coffee and pastries and it will definitely be your favorite coffee house! Lets support small businesses and quit making corporate America richer - give this family owned and run place a try!

The sweetest woman with great suggestions and even better food :) Came in for café con leche, left with delicious cheese croquetas and mouth-watering beef and chicken empanadas. Wasn't gonna get the chicken but she described it as very juicy & flavorful and it did NOT disappoint. She even happily recommended some amazing, bursting-with-flavor sauces I thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend this lovely establishment and will make it a staple for every visit to South FL.

Gentlemen was accommodating and welcoming but the food bakery items were horrendous. The cuban ham croquettes are the type they fry from Goya from any food grocery store. The empanada was $6.69 for one which was raw and disgusting. The Jamaican patty was also a previously frozen one from any grocery store. For 3 ham croquettes one Jamaican patty and one empanada we spent $15.51 and ended up at Dennys as we threw the food away.

My fiancé decided to take me to Ruthys Bakery for breakfast and the lady that took our order was so wonderful! I'm assuming she's the owner but she made us feel so welcomed! It was my first time here but my fiancé has been here twice already and loves their breakfast! We both got the fries (breakfast potatoes), bacon, egg and we got toast and bowl of fresh fruits on the side. She didn't have ice coffee on the menu but for me she made me one! She also gave us free Nutella pastry's! Customer service 5/5! - The ice coffee was a bit bitter for my taste (no matter how many sugar packets I added) and the breakfast was good however I couldn't finish it all! Overall, this place is really nice- not only do they sell breakfast But they sell homemade pastries!

Amazing experience from the moment you walk in! Such warm and friendly service, food was so great, delicious and fresh. You feel like you're at home. The boys were happy I found the place. Colada was yummy, the Cuban bread on the sandwich super fresh, and we were treated to croquetas! We will definitely be back

The service Ruth provided was truly exceptional. She went above and beyond with the cake design and taste. We all loved it and will be coming back for more.

This little bakery wedged in the corner of the Renaissance Plaza in Davie is a good place to go for coffee and cuban sandwiches. Very nice rustic decor with light wood finishes. I met with the owner, Ruthy, who introduced herself and took my order for a cortadito for $3.25 - a decent price and was delish. They offer San Bernardo ice cream with various flavors like Rainbow, Birthday Cake and Cookies Cream. They have a Sweet Rewards loyalty card and five stamps get one free scoop of ice cream. Many flavors of smoothies sold here too. There were many types of danishes like guava, cheese, strawberry & cheese and apple. In addition to Pan de Bono, Baked Chicken and Cuban Meat. The bathroom was very clean which is actually the most important aspect to me. read more

I think a good question is what haven't we eaten here?! From the empanadas, Cuban sandwiches, and the pastries! I'm Jamaican so this was a bit different for me but I love it! The employees are 10/10 and they're extremely welcoming ! My daughter was given a cake that she could not stop eating, I truthfully couldn't be happier with the quality of the food as well as the service. I must say that the other reviews are beyond misleading, I'll continue to eat at Ruthy's bakery!! (The cake pops are my personal favorite) read more

The fact that the owner leaves these types of replies to any negative reviews is pretty cringe. Maybe they should spend more time taste testing these items and perfecting them so that you won't have disappointed customers. Eggs should still be seasoned when cooked. Bacon being gross means I as a customer did not enjoy the bacon you chose to purchase for your restaurant. The coffee being expensive doesn't take away the fact that the way it was made was extremely unpleasant and was therefore thrown out. Perhaps the barista needed more training on coffee/milk ratio for a cafe con leche. read more

Please do NOT go here! DO NOT endorse bad business practice and their scam! I would give negative stars if i could. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Myself and my young child had a terrible experience here. Most important complaint: The employee (seemed like the owner and/or minimally the manager) bypassed the tip screen and gave herself 18% tip for a to-go order WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. She just swiped away from the tip screen and mumbled don't worry about that. Then told me to sign. I selected to get a receipt and that is when I saw she gave herself 18% tip for a to-go sandwich!?! I DO NOT condone this type of business practice even though there is inflation and even if the business is in trouble (no one was in the small restaurant). They DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to take money from customers without their knowledge!!! Second complaint: My young child had to use the bathroom and one of the disgruntled employees hid in the only bathroom (for a LONG time) and the owner had to bang on the door to tell her to come out. That same disgruntled employee was also rude to us. Third complaint: Rundown restaurant with ZERO air conditioning; in the Florida heat. It was hotter (very stale air) inside than outside! read more

When I say I was BLOWN AWAY when I went to see our cake for a Miami Vice themed 60th Birthday... I WAS B L O W N A W A Y!!! I have never seen such creativity, attention to design + detail AND oh my gosh the layers and layers of flavor. I can not tell you how many complements we received on this cake. Ruth truly loves with a she does; you can literally feel it, not to mention taste it too. I am so happy we have discovered this Bakery. We will be using them for all of our events going forward. I will never have to worry again about a cake not being what we wanted. This was a show stopper. I gave complete creative freedom to just make us a cake with a Miami Vice vibe and just look at the photos for yourself to see this. Miami Vice came to life last night. Thank you so much for making our night so special. This was more than a cake, this created memories for a lifetime. I can still taste the chocolate fudge layers and organic vanilla bean cream. To the owner, You are running a business, not a family reunion. I still stand by my review and you are wrong in saying that either my boyfriend or I were arrogant and rude. Cameras or not, asking for silverware, inquiring about your food, and service....was a ground ball that would of corrected some areas of this review. Ma'm I've worked in the service industry and empathize with workers and owners, but you took this personal instead of using it to grow and correct your business decisions and model. This was two years ago, and by the looks of it...you are still getting poor reviews from other people. You are in SFL...a place rich in amazing food. The competition is plentiful and the economy is not the greatest...so if someone is looking to spend $ on eating out, the service could at least be decent and the food good = average. I wish you the best and God Bless...but again, YELP isn't used for personal attack on you...it's an area where consumers share experiences to inform others on expectations. It is up to each person to decide wether or not they choose to spend their hard end $ on good or bad experiences...maybe your future customers will have some. read more

I was headed to Dunkin Donuts with a friend and we decided to walk the strip mall first to work up a hunger, and discovered Ruthy's Bakery. It was so cozy inside and the menu had a wide range of foods, so we ditched the DD idea and decided to give Ruthy's Bakery a try. We had a full breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes and cuban bread--all yummy! We met Ruthy who was super nice. She made us feel so welcome--like we were home. The ambiance was so pleasant, we stayed a few hours and decided to have a sweet treat. There was so much to choose from, I will need to come back many times before sampling everything. HIDDEN GEM OF BROWARD If I could give this place 10 stars I would! They invented so many flavors of Pastelitos and the only ones in Florida to have it I ate a strawberry and cheese, my husband had the blueberry and cheese and my kids had a mango and piña colada flavor I came for a water and left with a dozen pastries! The owner is so friendly and makes you feel apart of the family So warm and welcoming. Place is very clean and the food was definitely fresh So hot right out the oven. Ruthy is such an amazing and sweet lady, the staff is cool and they are all friendly. Ruthy has the best sandwiches around for sure, I haven't eaten a Cuban or steak sandwich from anywhere else the last 2 years as good as hers. Now she's doing smoothies and I just got the strawberry/blueberry one and is great! She has a forever customer in me, she is like my momma, always takes care of me and talks to me about my life when she sees me. Love coming here and I love Ruthy, its hard not to. read more

Today I had the opportunity to order and buy this spectacular cake for my niece .The cake was done just in a couple hours after I ordered it and was a wonderful surprise when I arrived to the Birthday with this really amazing cake .The combination of the flavor ,the freshness ,with the texture and the colorful decoration was very impressive. I've been here twice this week! My mom introduced me to this place last Saturday and the food is amazing! I had the Steak Sandwich, croquettes, papa rellena and guava pastries.. all good! My kids loved it too. I went back again today and the owner remembered me and was very kind and hardworking! I came to get an assortment of food because of how good it is and she threw in a free fried Nutella pastry to try, so good! I definitely recommend this place! read more

I absolutely love this place. The owner is by far the most amazing and friendly person I've ever met in an industry thats very mentally demanding. The food was amazing. The chef did a tremendous job with the sandwiches and overall when you walk into this place it feels like you are apart pf the family. Not many latin Cafés still have that kind of hospitality. this bakery is excellent! fresh baked goods, a great mix of vegan, vegetarian pastries and awesome empanadas (meat, cheese, guava, fish, chicken, etc.) many options! baked and fried! for everyone's preference.
