Careless installers. After the technicians came out to fix my Andersen windows, I emailed Missy Corelle detailing the issues. I waited five days with no response or call back, even though I confirmed the email was opened. Their complete lack of follow-up is unacceptable, and I will not recommend this company to anyone. Below is the email that I sent: "Hello, I wanted to share my recent experience with the window installation service on July 29, 2025. Unfortunately, it was far from positive. First, I found both installers to be careless. The younger installer literally ripped the valance off the blind and broke both brackets. It didn't appear that he examined how they were mounted before removing them. If he had been unsure, he could have asked me for help--I've removed that valance several times myself without issue. Not only did he break both plastic brackets, but he also never informed me. Instead, he jury-rigged it so it appeared intact. I discovered the damage when I tried to close the blind, and the valance fell. Secondly, the older installer dropped a hammer on my new end table, which we purchased just two weeks ago. I had placed a clear plexiglass top on it the previous weekend, which saved the table itself, but the plexiglass now has a dent. Again, this was never mentioned to me--I only noticed it after they had left. Both representatives appeared to be in a rush and did not treat my home or me with the respect that any customer deserves. Awful company when they mess up an order. I waited 6 weeks for several windows. When the order came in it was a slider door not any windows. The company was quick to answer my email but offered no remediation in the way of a discount or even a faster delivery. Now my project won't be completed in time for my guests arriving. read more

I recently ordered cabinets from Moynihan after a friend recommended them. I had never shopped there before. Denise came out to the house and was respectfully followed CDC safety measures. She brought samples/suggestions, measured and made some great recommendations. She helped me make choices where I could save some money. in spite of the pandemic, the cabinets arrived in less than a month, as promised. I had my contractor install them. They are very nice looking and good quality. A few small pieces didn't make the original shipment, so I emailed Denise. She got right on it and the pieces arrived in a short time. When I remembered I needed handles for the cabinets, I again worked with Denise via email. She set time expectations for the ones I selected, and they came in as expected. I went to the store for the first time to pick them up. I liked the store as well, People working there were helpful. I do not enjoy remodeling or picking items, but Denise made it less stressful. These guys are thieves!!! Yo've been warned!! They dopes installed a 5k patio door & decided not to put insulation around the door!!! Room was always cold and we couldn't figure out why especially after having new door installed. Yeah we know why now! They couldn't even put a can of $5 expanding insulation to insulate the door!!! I called to let them know that it was never done and the response was equally as ridiculous. Took picture to show them and basically I was told that it came off with the trim. Ah no sorry that didn't happen since I'm the one who removed it. Tried a few more times to get things rectified but never got a response. Horrible experience!!!!! read more

This review is about their job pricing policy. They price "by the job" rather than cost per hour, or cost per worker. This enables them to charge whatever they want. Gouging is the new policy. I ordered a new sliding glass window. The window cost around $7000....crazy , right? It took several months to arrive. I accepted all this as the status quo post covid. What blew me away was the installation. $2600 for 2 guys for 5 hour job. That is 10 hours or $260 hour per worker. I get it that there are costs for insurance, truck, etc. But I have never experienced this type of gouging. I asked for an itemization of the install. Dale told me that he could not give me one because that is not how they price out jobs. I am still horrified, will never shop at Moynihan Lumber again. read more

I requested a quote for a storm door. Dale came out to do measurements on Thursday and told me he would send an estimate. I didn't hear from anyone at the company. Emailed sales person asking about quote. She told me she would forward my email to Dale. I still never heard back. Emailed sales person again stating I haven't heard from Dale and I think I will be going with another company. Sales person replied that she understood, so I moved on. She didn't even try to contact Dale, she just lost my business. Stay away from this company, can you imagine the poor quality work they do if they can't even track down a quote? read more

Do NOT use Moynihan Lumber for your kitchen! The issue started with the design - the kitchen was designed with an island that when installed would have taken up the entire space. We ended up having to take a wall down to make the cabinets we already ordered work. We have gone through a nightmare with them for the quality of counter tops and cabinets as well. Multiple cabinets arrived damaged and we reached out to the rep we worked with multiple times to get it resolved. When we finally received replacements even one of the replacements was damaged and we also never received pieces we ordered even in the replacement order. Our counters were installed uneven, scratched and chipped. I sent multiple emails to get this resolved and was ignored many times. I ended up communicating directly with the counter company that Moynihan contracted with to get the counter issues resolved. I've asked for refunds for pieces we did not receive and things that were damaged and not replaced and again have been ignored. Our contractor went to the store to complain and was give a sweatshirt and a pencil. We have had a truly awful experience and I would never recommend them to anyone for their kitchen. read more

Absolutely awful organizational skills, customer service, knowledgeable on materials and policies!! First issue was receiving unbelievably awful customer service while shopping and picking out decking. The sales person was less knowledgeable on decking than I was. Luckily my husband basically did his job for him and then went to place the order based off my husbands math, finding the product ordering details and handing over the information to the sales person. They then took our 9k and told us it should be delivered in June. It is now July, and we called to find out about our order only then to be told "hmm somehow this order was never placed." BUT they had no problem cashing in the 9k already!!! I then am told that if they placed that order now, I wouldn't get the product until September. Or I can come in and pick out another product with less of a wait time. Well, I then head there to get this straightened out only to pull in to a "closed for inventory" sign!!!! I called to ask if I can just see a few color choices and was told no. They are closed for 5 hours and will be open tomorrow! Are you kidding me?!? You have poor customer service, forgot to place an order, took 9k and won't correct the issue in a timely manner!! I have never been so angry with a small business! read more

Absolutely have a problem with rude, condescending men who think that they can say "it would be too confusing for you to understand." UMMM the issue is I ordered 2 doors. You delivered 1 and left the other one in your warehouse and you don't want to admit to that AND you told me someone would be here between 8-10 - you called me at 830 to tell me they were on their way (I'm in the next town over) but because you are being a deliberate jerk they didn't show up at all until I started calling say its past 10 ... I came to the site expecting to find hundreds of reviews as great as mine will be and am so surprised to see the reviews here. I decided to replace all 11 doors (bedrooms, bathroom, closets) of my home. I knew exactly what I wanted when I set out. I worked with Matt White who was phenomenal! We communicated frequently via email and even met in person to look at different options. When the first estimate came back higher than I was expecting, Matt worked with me to find options that were within my budget without compromising the look or quality that I wanted. While the installation was delayed because of COVID, everything worked perfectly once we rescheduled a date. Matt and Christi Rivett kept me well-informed, answered all of my endless questions and made the entire process feel seamless and effortless. I've been coming to Moynihan Lumber since I was a kid, well over 20 years now, being involved with family business. It's my go to for lumber, doors and specialty items. Front desk is always alert and informative. The guys upstairs that do estimating are more than responsive. Moynihan Lumber always meets and/or exceeds my expectations whether it be a small purchase or a large special order. I'd like to say personally I am especially thankful for Mark Spicer at the front desk. His knowledge on products and ETA's on orders is what every customer and contractor looks for. I was shopping with my contractor who always goes to this location and raves about the service and quality of product.. I can see why he raved about it. First and last time I buy here. I had 25 tongue and groove lumber delivered to my house. Almost half the boards were damaged. I chose to return them myself even though they were delivered. When I told the front desk the situation, he told me to put the damaged boards back on the shelf and feel free to pick out good replacements. He didn't offer anything for the inconvenience of me having to return the damaged boards that they delivered to me, he didn't offer to have himself or some else help me unload the damaged boards and find replacements, but he did want me to reload the damaged boards on the same shelf to be delivered to some other customer that will have to go through the same situation I did. Reasonable prices at the cost of poor quality and poor customer service. I needed to buy another 50 boards to finish my projects but went to a different company. read more

About a year ago my husband and I hired Moynihan to replace two large Anderson windows in his rental home. Along with replacing the windows some siding also had to be replaced because of the windows. Here is a list of the problems we had with Moynihan: 1. One of the two replacement windows was damaged by Moynihan when their forklift driver backed up into the window. We had to wait another three weeks for another window. 2. The siding that they were supposed to match with the existing siding was badly mismatched. Moynihan told us this was the best match they could find. 3. Some of the siding and trim that they re-attached to the house after replacing one of the windows was not attached properly. It's falling off and past warranty. Now we are in the process of hiring another contractor to replace and repair the siding and trim. The siding was so poorly done that water is getting in between the siding and the clapboard. 4. Moynihan's invoicing was incorrect. The entire project to replace two windows and some siding took twice as long as anticipated and it is costing us more in the long run. Thanks Moynihan! read more

My wife and I needed to order some 4" wide x 12' beadboard to cover an 8'x12' area. Before we called Moynihan we figured that 4" wide tongue n groove might not truly be 4" wide (it might be slightly narrower because of the tongue n groove) so we need to ask them how wide the boards really are alone and once they were interlocked (the face). We also wanted to order 3extra boards just in case. So we call Moynihan, gave the dimensions of our prohect, and explained what we were looking fo. The guy that took the order on the phone assures us that the actual measurement of the individual board width is 4" though the facing portion is narrower but tells us to order as if it's 4". He does the math on the phone and we say we want some extra boards so he says 28 should be enough. Well, they delivered the stock to our house the next day and that was great but the boards were not the width the guy at Moynihan said. The width of the individual boards were 3-1/4". Well short of what we needed. Very annoying as this could have been avoided by the person taking the order simply confirming the width of the boards by measuring them in house, instead of guessing. Because some of the pieces were damaged and we needed more boards to finish the project, I treck over to the store with the problem boards. I tell them how they misdirected us on the phone. Their response: they couldn't believe someone who worked there would say that as everyone knows its not really 4" boards (yeah, i know!). They couldn't have shown less interest in the inconvenience. No "sorry that happened to you", nothing. I'll take my business elsewhere in the future. read more

I had a great experience over in the mill department. It all started from a referral from my contractor on a fireplace he was framing up. We were thinking about the mantel piece and he noted Moynihan Lumber. I went up there to take a look at the Mill dept. - from the minute I walked in and asked the guy at the customer service / check out desk to actually getting the opportunity to meet someone in the mill dept. - the knowledge and options were endless. I would not only recommend them in the future, I would tell people to start here first. I bought a box of TimberLOK heavy duty wood screws, a can of preservative, and two 10 foot rebars for some stairs I am building and received outstanding service from Ron, one of the salesmen and a young man, probably working there for the summer. Ron came out to the yard to make sure I was satisfied with the rebars. I have been to Moynihan Lumber a few times before and have always been treated like family. This is the place to buy merchandise that you can't buy at the big box stores. read more

My husband and I shopped around for windows and doors. This place originally had the best price for what we wanted and our first experience with their service was great, which is why we decided to go with them. The second time we went in, the guy that helped us was rude and not helpful. We decided to give it another go and were happy with the service, but our quote rose b/c the person who put it together messed up the original. It averaged out with other lumber yards, so we stuck with this place. In hindsight, that was a stupid move. Why stick with a place that your not 100% happy with. We were told that it would take 3-4 weeks to get our doors and windows. When we ordered we were told to call later for an exact date. This information was passed onto contractor putting who planned accordingly. When I called to find out the exact date, I was told it would be an additional 4 weeks! Had we been told that originally, we would have planned differently. Not to mention, it messed up the contractor's plan. We wanted to have the room done before the baby arrives. Now... because of them construction will be going on when I come home from the hospital. Maybe the people who misinformed us would like to come over and help out during that time? I would highly suggest buying from somewhere else with better customer service. Update: They contacted me aright away when they heard about the situation and tried to expedite the shipping and are trying to fix the lack of communication that happened between the window dealer and the sales people. In the future, I am sure they will provide better service. read more

Terrible-Called 2 weks in advance explaining we would want a Friday delivery on a specific date and would it be possible was told yes.Called back a few days later to let them know we would be coming in to hand pick lumber and again wanted it delivered on Friday...was told no problem.On day we were coming in to pick lumber was told no you can't get it delivered on Friday we're all booked for that day you should have "reserved" it.Crew was all set to work and dumpster was delivered.Incompetent.And we spoke to more than one person. read more

Never thought I'd do this but here goes...my story is way to long to go into. Don't, I repeat, DO NOT EVER go there for a kitchen. I ended up buying from them and feel foolish about it but I had no energy left to start up with someone else. I ended up with cabinets I never wanted. When I started out I chose inset cabinets and am positive I was on the same page as there "expert" only to find out she made a mistake. Then was made to feel foolish because as they said, I should have known that insert was more expensive that overlay. I'm supposed to know that how??? Her mistake and if they were a stand up company they would have given me what I was expecting unfortunately at their loss So, I have a kitchen I will never be happy with and can't wait for the day to sell the property! I recently just had a home renovation and used Moynihan lumber for doors and trim. I have had one of the worst customer service experiences ever with this company. The first delivery 8 of the pieces of baseboard was cracked in half and had to be replaced, the bi-fold doors for my laundry room was missing and had to wait another week for those to be delivered. I also ordered a front door through them. I was only replacing the door so I had a salesman Jim come out to measure the door. I also emailed him and his boss before the door was delivered to make sure it had a deadbolt hole. Door was delivered with no deadbolt hole. I had to wait days for a maintenance guy to come out to drill the hole. When I put the door on it didn't fit. I could go on and on about the issues I had with these guys. These guys were so bad I am taking the time to write my first review ever. read more

This place is a Lumber company that made it impossible to buy 2 pieces of wood. My wife and I were looking for 2 pieces of Oak for a kitchen project. We called the store and were told that we would have to come in to make the order. So we went in a month ago and spoke to someone about what we needed. Fast foward a month later and we have not receive a single call back from them. We have reached out 5 different times and always get the same line that "someone" will call back tomorow and they never do. So today we finally get our first call back and am told that we have to go back into the store and talk to the one employee that is capable of handling our order, again 2 pieces of wood. Not only that but the one employee that know what he's doing only works mon-fri and leaves at 5. So not only are we asked to go AGAIN to the store AGAIN but we are also asked to take time off of work to do it. We are told it's impossible to talk to this guy on the phone and also that he's the only one who can help us. read more
